LaRae shook her head and laughed softly. "I don't think I see a muffin ever being waved under your nose." She paused. "The only one of the seven of us who is really good in the kitchen would never be awake early enough to make muffins. Let alone have them cooked before you got up." She smiled and shook her head again. She propped herself up a little more on the bed and then glanced around the room a little. "Um... I think I'll just run my fingers through my hair." She paused. "You seem to have left your bag somewhere other then in here." She said as she pushed herself up into a seated position. She sat there for a moment before smirking lightly. She reached over and took hold of her own pillow before setting it in her lap for a moment and then threw at Hikari's head. She stuck her tongue out at her. "That's for hitting me with your pillow!"
Kyran continued to scratch Nobu's head a little longer before moving his head from his lap. He reached over and started to slip his boots on finally. Once he'd laced them up he stood up from the couch. He placed his hand on top of Nobu's head again lightly and motioned for him to follow him. He wandered over to the front door and quietly opened it, making sure there was enough room for Nobu to pass through. He stood and waited for Nobu to exit the house before he followed after him. Again, making sure that he was quiet when shutting the door. He sighed softly once he was on the porch and then looked down at Nobu with a slight smile. "You haven't been outside in awhile." He said as he walked over to the steps and sat down. "You really should let us know when you need to go out, more often." Nobu followed Kyran outside when he motioned for him to follow. Once outside he went over to the steps and sat down next to Kyran. He just looked up at him when he started talking and then shook his head lightly. He hadn't really needed to go out until now and he'd been out before yesterday. He probably could've tried to get out sooner but when he wanted to go outside the most everyone was already asleep and he didn't want to wake any of them. |
Hikari laughed softly, "Good point." she said when she said that she would probably never wake up with a muffin at her disposal. She blinked and laughed as she smacked the pillow away after face. "Hey!" she said with a laugh as she sat up again. She shook her head and pushed her hair back out of her face again. "Well, suit yourself. I think I am going to go get that comb, anyway, you just killed my hair worse than it already was." she said lightly as she hopped out of the bed and started for the door. She stepped out into the hall and started for the stairs without so much as a glance down the hall.
Nanashi blinked when the door opened and Hikari came out and started down the hall without even noticing him standing there. He shook his head slightly and half smiled, creeping over to the door to look inside since she'd forgotten to close the door. He looked at LaRae and half smiled before he stepped into the room, though he kept his eyes on the floor for a moment. "...Good morning." he said quietly. Celestine finally started to wake up from where he was and stretched. He felt his neck crack and his muscles were extremely sore. He sat there for a moment and then finally pushed himself up out of the chair unsteadily. He grabbed the cane that LaRae had made for him just in case and started out of the room. He was at least getting around a little better today, or he was for now, but he was far from back to normal. He just started down the hall and went straight to the front door. He just wanted to go outside today for a while before he didn't feel like moving anymore. He blinked when he saw Kyran and Nobu outside and then shook his head slightly as he pulled the door shut behind him. "...Hey." |
LaRae watched as Hikari got up and went for the door. She wouldn't have minded using Hikari's comb but she really didn't want to leave the room with her hair a mess like it was. Once Hikari had left the room she moved closer to the edge of the bed with her legs crossed in front of her and then leaned over trying to gather the blanket from the floor. She hadn't been paying too much attention when Nanashi stepped into the room so she startled slightly and almost fell forward right off the bed when she heard him speak. She managed to sit herself back up right on the bed before that happened though and she had gathered all of the blanket from the floor in the process. She looked over at him and smiled softly before sitting back a little from the edge. "Good morning, to you too." She said softly. "How did you sleep?"
Kyran glanced back over his shoulder when he heard the door open and then smiled slightly when he saw Celestine. "Good morning." He said as he turned his head back around and then looked down at Nobu while he continued to pat his head a little. "Feeling a little better today?" He asked and then watched as Nobu stood up and moved down from the porch. Nobu continued to stay on the porch beside Kyran for a few minutes before he finally got back to his feet and slipped down onto the ground. He turned slightly and looked over at Celestine. He was glad to see him up and moving around today. He stood there for a moment longer and then started walking off, heading around the side of the house. |
Nanashi glanced up when LaRae spoke and smiled slightly before he shook his head. "...Half of the night, I didn't..." he said quietly, "...I'm surprised that any of you could sleep with all of that thunder..." he said with a sigh, "Kyran seemed to be enjoying it." He finally walked over to the bed and sat down beside her. "...I...I'm sorry...about yesterday..." he said quietly as he averted his eyes, "...I...didn't want you to...get angry...again." he muttered as he fidgeted with his hands in his lap.
Celestine glanced over to Kyran and nodded slightly. "...A little..." he muttered quietly as he walked over to him and sank down beside him with a sigh. "...I'm just glad to be out of that room for a while..." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, still able to smell the fresh air after the storm. He leaned over against the porch post and then glanced to the side of the house where Nobu had disappeared. He guessed the poor guy had been spending a lot of time int he house, he probably needed to get out. Hikari made her way down the stairs and glanced around the living room when she reached the bottom. She blinked and stared at Aamori for a moment before she slowly walked over to her and smiled as she knelt down and poked her in the nose gently. "Aamori? Um... Haha." she shook her head and stood up, backing away from her. She thought she might want to get up and get back in the chair or something. |
LaRae tilted her head to the side slightly. "...It was storming last night?" She asked quietly, half embarrassed because she had slept through it without even noticing it once. She sighed softly and then looked away when he apologized for yesterday and then explained. She shook her head lightly. "...I think I was more upset that you wouldn't just tell me... Instead I had to hear about it from Marius." She said quietly. "...And of course I'd get angry because someone hurt you. But that doesn't mean I'm going to go hunt those boys down." She paused. "I have no idea what any of them look like, and it'd be nearly impossible to find them. Not to mention Celestine practically told me to behave while I'm here." She sighed softly. "I admit though, it's hard to restrain myself when I'm around you and someone hurts you." She at least thought that much would be understandable. She was pretty sure that Nanashi didn't like to sit idly by when Renzo was hurting her. She didn't really see a difference in two instances except for she actually went after the asses who hurt Nanashi.
Kyran glanced over at Celestine once he'd sat down beside him. "I'm a little surprised it took you this long to get out here." He said paused before turning his eyes back towards the ground in front of him. "I was positive that the instant you were able to move around again, you'd be outside." Aamori barely stirred at all when Hikari came down the stairs and moved closer to her. It wasn't until Hikari touched her nose that she moved her hand to swat at whatever it was touching her. Her ears twitched slightly when she heard her name and she groaned quietly before trying to roll over onto her side. She soon found that rather difficult considering the position she was in and she wound up rolling right back onto her back with a small thud as her head hit the wood again. She finally forced her eyes open after hitting her head again and sighed. She glanced around a little and noticed Hikari. She continued to lay there groggily for a moment before even realizing how she was laying. She blinked a couple times and then started to sit herself up as best she could so that she could swing her legs down from the chair. She sat upright on the floor and then started rubbing the back of her head softly. She felt a small knot on the back of her head, obviously she'd hit it harder the first time she fell from the chair and then hit it again in the same place just a moment ago. She glanced back up at Hikari as she brought her hand back down to her lap. "...Mmm ...Hi ...Time to get up already?" She asked quietly as she lowered her eyes, rather embarrassed. |
Nanashi nodded slightly when she asked about the storm and then sighed softly. "...I know...it's just..." he shook his head slightly. "...Before...when you went after Nero's friend... I...I really appreciated the gesture but...you know you messed up his face for the rest of his life probably... and you nearly got yourself killed..." he glanced over to her and sighed softly, "...I've never wanted to hurt anyone...or be the reason that someone else was hurt." he said softly, "in that case, two people got hurt just because I was standing in the wrong place. People are going to do things to me, I've just...come to expect it and accept it. So...in the future...please don't go off on anyone like that again... I know it makes you angry, but...it only causes more problems in the long run... It's just...easier and less painful on me to just get it over with and let it be done."
Celestine yawned slightly. "...Yeah...I wanted to...but I couldn't exactly come out here and sit in a bloody shirt. By the time I got cleaned off I just wanted to go back to bed." he said simply. He stretched his wings out a little and sighed before he leaned his head back and rubbed the back of his neck slightly. "...I didn't quite make it." he said simply. He half smirked and shook his head, "I guess it's that obvious that I hate being confined with walls, huh?" Kanone had actually managed to get up at a decent time today, but when he came downstairs he only found a note on the table saying that Sonia had gone to run that errand that he had ignored yesterday and that if h wanted breakfast he could cook it himself. He sighed and shook his head. He wasn't in the mood to cook, so he just grabbed and apple and went back upstairs to get dressed in his usual attire of a long blue shirt that split up the sides, brown pants, and a ripe belt. He threw his hair up into its usual ponytail and then headed out the door. He didn't have anything better to do, so he figured that he'd just go bother Celestine some more. Maybe he'd get lucky and they'd have some leftover breakfast left. Hikari laughed softly at Aamori and smiled at her. "Good morning. Are you alright?" she asked as she stepped back over to her and put her hand on her head, "Haha don't knock yourself silly. Seems like everyone is rolling out of bed quite literally this morning. At least I wasn't alone." |
LaRae listened to what he had to say and had a difficult time keeping her thoughts to herself until he finished, but she managed to. She heaved a heavy sigh and then stood up from the bed. She stretched a little and then glanced back at Nanashi briefly. "...Nero's friend got what he deserved. What he did to you wasn't fair and there was no just cause for it other then you being different then he was. I simply paid him back for what he did to you. He's still alive and can continue with his day to day life." She paused and then looked away. "Just be thankful he isn't dead." She muttered. "And you can't relate my getting hurt that day to you. I got hurt because of what I did, so it's my fault that Nero did what he did to me." She said quietly. "It's also my fault for not accepting Hikari's help right away. Had I done that, I wouldn't have been as bad off." She shook her head lightly. "If you really would prefer that I not respond to people picking on you like that... then I guess..." She paused. "As much as I like you... I should stop being around you..." She uttered quietly while crossing her arms over her chest loosely. "I can't just stand there and let some jerk pick on someone I like as much as you... And you know... I'd still react the same way even if you weren't half human." Though she was pretty sure that if he had been a full dragon, he wouldn't stand to let someone push him around like that. At least most full blooded dragons didn't let others bully them without a fight.
Kyran looked back over at Celestine. "If you really wanted to be outside, desperately, I'm sure you'd have sat out here in that shirt for a few minutes." Then again maybe he was really speaking for himself. If he wanted to be outside and was covered in bloody clothes, he'd have sat himself outside regardless. He gave a slight nod after the last thing that Celestine said. "If the four walls had no ceiling, and there was fresh air and a blue sky to look at, I'm sure then that you wouldn't mind being confined." He said with a slight smile. Nobu finally came back around the house and wandered straight over to the porch. Since Celestine was now sitting down beside Kyran he just flopped himself down at the foot of the steps. Aamori stared down at her hands when Hikari moved closer and then placed her hand on top of her head. She sighed softly, but glanced back up to her for a moment once she had said she wasn't alone. Well at least that meant that Aamori wasn't the only one either and that made her a little less embarrassed. Though, the way she woke up was more then enough to utterly embarrass her for awhile. "...I didn't even know I fell..." She admitted quietly. "...My head aches a little, but I think I'm alright..." She added lastly. |
Nanashi sighed heavily and shook his head. "...Is that the only solution you can come up with?" he asked as he stood up. He stood there for a moment and then sighed, "You know well that if I was like you he wouldn't have bothered me in the first place, and if I was human I would not have been anywhere near there to be picked on in the first place." He walked up to her and grabbed her shoulders gently, but firmly enough to turned her to face him, "I don't care if you react," he said as he reached down to grab her hands, forcing her to uncross her arms as he raised her hands up, "But do you have to react with these?" he asked before he let her hands go. "...Is more violence the only thing that you can strike back with? I know they say actions speak louder than words, but sometimes words work just as well... Not everything has to resort to the use of your fists...or your magic." he sighed and shook his head again, "...That's what I've been trying to get through to everyone... violence only brings on more violence, when you retaliate violently, it only caused someone else to do the same, it never stops." He looked back to her face with near a pleading look in his watery, ruby eyes, "...Just...learn to control yourself..." he said quietly.
Celestine shook his head slightly when Kyran said that he'd have gone out in bloody clothes. "...I don't care much for my appearance but I prefer not to draw quite that much attention to myself." he said simply since his entire side had been coated n blood, it would have been hard for anyone who even glanced at him to miss. He shrugged slightly when he said that if the walls had no ceiling that he would be fine. "...Maybe so." he said simply as he looked up at the sky. "...I just don't like feeling trapped." he said simply, "I like being able to just make a run for it if I want and not have to move things to get out or only go out a certain way. I guess I'm just weird like that." he said simply. Kanone was finally starting to get near the house and grinned when he saw Celestine on the porch with Kyran. He walked up to them and smiled, "Hey there," he said lightly and then bent to rub the top of Nobu's head, "Hey there, poochie." he said with a soft laugh before he looked back to Celestine, "Well I see you're finally up. Hey um... have you guys had breakfast yet? I'm about to stave..." Hikari smiled slightly to Aamori and laughed softly. "Well...I woke up, latched onto the covers, and just pulled them off with me." she said with a slight laugh, "I just came down to get my comb, I think LaRae and I could both use it." he said simply. Marius was still sleeping upstairs in his room tossing and turning under the covers as he tried to wake himself up. He had slept soundly through the storm without much trouble until recently. He had started to have one of his dream visions, one that he really didn't want to have. He saw Sonia walking through the woods in one of her nice yellow dresses. She seemed fine at first, like a woman on a mission, but then out of nowhere and arrow came shooting out of the trees and pierced her chest from an angle, knocking her backwards to the ground. He saw her grab the arrow and yank it from her chest before she tried to get up, only to be struck in the stomach by another one. As she lay on the ground trying to remove the second arrow three human men ran up to her, one of which swiftly pulled a dagger from his belt and dashed it across her throat. He watched as she stared up at them with horror filled eyes while she choked on her own blood and he watched as the life left her eyes and the men bed about desecrating her body; one chopping off her horn, another starting to remove what scales he could, the other starting to cut her open to remove the parts that humans deemed 'useful.' Finally he managed to wake himself, almost gagging as he rolled out the bed and ran to his door, pulling it open. He didn't even bother fixing himself up or getting his shoes, he just hurried down the hall and made his way to the stairs. He had to get to her house and make sure that she was alright and that this was something that hadn't happened yet. He only hoped he could keep it from happening. Unlike Celestine, Marius had trained himself better with his dreams, and he normally didn't have premonitions unless they were of importance to him or just important in general such as the ones that he had been having about the group; though obviously not all of those had been of great importance, sometimes he could just think on things as he went to sleep and get information on them, which was how he had learned so much about what had happened to the group before they even got there. Unfortunately in training himself so well, sometimes he didn't have the dreams that he needed to have until shortly before it happened or as it was happening. It was still early in the day, but he hadn't been able to see what time it was in the dream, so he could only hope that Sonia was still at home cooking breakfast or getting ready to make lunch or something. |
LaRae continued to stand there at least until after he got up and turned her around. She hadn't wanted to look at him which was why she turned away in the first place. So of course after he made her turn around she averted her eyes. Although she couldn't help looking down at her hands when he took them and held them up. She glanced back at him for only a second before lowering her eyes again while putting her hands at her sides. She bit her lip as she continued to stand there and listen to the rest of what he had to say. She just barely looked up at him and noticed the look in his eyes before she had to look away again. She took a deep breath and then released her lip before she went to open her mouth. "If you haven't noticed by now... people don't listen to a damn word I have to say... I get ignored just as easily as you do because I don't have visible horns. At first glance I look exactly like you, thus I can't use my words to my advantage." She balled up one of her fists lightly. "That only ever leaves me with my magic. That's the only way to get any point across to any other dragon." She muttered. She took a few steps away from him after his last words echoed in her head. She shut her eyes tightly and then turned around again so that her back was to him again. She really had started to hate being told to control herself. It didn't even matter what exactly it pertained to, she was just sick and tired of hearing it. She'd heard it so much that she was always reminded of the mark on her back, which was just enough to upset her more. She started to open her mouth again to say something but stopped and changed her mind about it. She opened her eyes slightly and stared down at the floor. "...Get out..." She muttered quietly.
Kyran looked at Celestine and then shook his head lightly. "That certainly does seem a little strange... but I suppose it is easy enough to understand." He said with a small nod. He glanced down at Nobu for a moment and then looked up to Kanone when he walked up. "Morning, Kanone." Nobu lifted his head slightly into Kanone's hand when he started to rub the top of it. He didn't care too much for being called poochie but he did love the attention so that kind of made up for it. His ears perked up slightly at the mention of breakfast. He hadn't eaten since the apple he got yesterday and the few cores, so he was pretty hungry right now himself. Aamori smiled slightly after Hikari told her how she fell off the bed. At least Hikari knew she fell off the bed. She couldn't even remember when she slipped off the chair, she only remembered waking up half on the floor. "At least you remember it happening..." She said quietly. She finally started to shift a bit to get herself to her feet. She sat herself down on the edge of the chair and then looked back to Hikari. "Well... go ahead and find your comb. I think I'm okay for now, I don't think I'm going to slip off the chair again." She said as she lifted her hand up to rub the back of her head again. |
Nanashi shook his head slightly and sighed. He had already told her a way once that she could avoid that, if she would just part her hair differently she wouldn't have that problem, but she hadn't liked that idea either. He watched her back away from him and turn around again, but he was getting pretty used to that reaction from her. He was taken aback however when she told him to get out. He froze for a moment and then felt his stomach knot up and drop. Had she been anyone else he would have just turned around and left the room, but he just stood there for a moment as his eyes started to water up. "...LaRae..." he said quietly, almost timidly taking a few steps forward so he could rest his hand on her shoulder. He tugged on her gently, trying to get her to turn around again. He wasn't trying to make her angry, he just wanted her to listen to him. He could talk to her until he turned blue in the face and she only ever heard what she wanted. It was a rare event when she actually did as he asked. "...Would you please...just listen to me?..." he said quietly.
Celestine half smiled at Kyran and then sighed when he looked up and saw Kanone coming up to the porch? "Already?" he muttered when he saw him coming and then sighed, "What's wrong, did Sonia not make enough breakfast for you?" he asked sarcastically, since Sonia always overcooked when she made something. "No, she's mad at me! She left before I even got up and left me a note saying that if I wanted to eat I could make it myself." he said accusingly, "I told you she was going to be peeved at me..." He muttered. Celestine's ears perked up slightly and he looked at him, "Gone? What do you mean gone?" Hikari smiled at Aamori and nodded. "Haha alright." she said lightly as she started to turn around and headed for the hallway, disappearing into the bedroom where Celestine had been sleeping. she smiled slightly when she saw that he'd already gotten out and went over to her back to dig out her comb. Marius dashed down the stairs quickly and hurried straight to the door, flinging it open and jerking it closed behind him as he hurried out onto the porch, almost running straight into Kyran and Celestine. He looked a little disheveled with his hair unbrushed and his robe still loose from a night of sleep and not even shoes on his feet. He still looked a little sick as well, but it didn't take him long to catch sight of Kanone at the bottom of the steps. "Kanone, where is your mother!?" he asked quickly in a firm no-nonsense voice that sounded half panicked. Kanone nearly jumped out of his skin when Marius came running outside. "Gramps--" he started, but Marius cut him off with his question. "She went to go run that er--" "GO FIND HER, NOW!!" Marius shouted at him. "What--" Kanone started, now looking both startled and confused, but again he was cut off, this time by a loud eagle's cry. Lani had been hovering around the village and flying overhead occasionally. She had been staying near Celestine for a while, but she didn't want to get too close to him until he was away from those others. However, whenever there was danger near she didn't care where he was, and when she saw the hunters in the forest between the two villages where he had been traveling not long before she went flying at top speed back toward the village where Celestine was staying, shrieking loudly as she approached to warn him away from that area. Celestine went almost white when he heard Lani's cry and he was on his feet in an instant, his mind completely off of how sore he was and how weak his legs were. "Hunters..." he said quietly as he looked up at the sky where Lani was flying from. Seconds after the word left his mouth he and Kanone both took off running toward the edge of the village. Celestine forgot his cane at the porch, but he didn't need it. Just like before when his leg was broken the adrenalin and the knowledge that he had something that he had to do drove him forward, and since his leg wasn't actually broken this time, it really wasn't even as hard as before, just tiring which showed when Kanone ran ahead of him, since normally he could out-speed Kanone easily. |
LaRae shut her eyes again after she told him to get out. She just stood there quietly, waiting to hear him leave. She had started to absently pick at the side stitching of her jeans while she stood, rather then cross her arms over her chest. Her ears fell back slightly when she realized that he wasn't leaving and then sighed when he touched her shoulder again. She reluctantly let him turn her around once more. She cracked her eyes open but kept them lowered. She was listening to him, even though the way she reacted to half the things he said could easily say otherwise. She did understand why he didn't want her to respond so violently to the ones who liked to pick on him, but she honestly couldn't help but hurt those people back. She really had strong feelings for Nanashi and couldn't bare to see him hurt by others like that. Violence wasn't always the right answer, she knew that, but it did usually make things stop the fastest. Taking the time to open your mouth to use your words instead didn't solve the problem fast enough in her eyes. Then you'd just get more flustered because the idiots you were mouthing off at would just talk right back. Then you'd just eventually end up hitting the ass because you got pissed at what he said. She didn't think that she really went off on anyone violently that much, after all Kanone was proof enough that she didn't always physically hurt someone. Nero's friend on the other hand, was the first that she'd really done any irreparable damage to. She gave another sigh and then started to lift her eyes up though she came to a stop when she made it up to his nose and then looked away again. She had seen his eyes before, they were already watery so she really didn't want to look at them again. Not to mention she wasn't that far from having watery eyes herself. "...I have been listening to you..." She mumbled.
Kyran startled pretty easily when Marius came rushing outside. Mostly because the mood had seemed pretty relaxed at the moment. He glanced back over his shoulder and up at Marius once he started on Kanone about where his mother was. Well, so far that really wasn't sounding very good; Especially considering Marius' tone. He sat quietly, though you could tell he was beginning to become concerned just by looking at him. He started to get to his feet when he heard the eagle, though not nearly as quickly as Celestine had. He looked up to the sky briefly and then his eyes lowered down to Celestine when he heard him say hunters. He watched for a moment as both Celestine and Kanone took off running and then he looked down to Nobu. He snapped his fingers together to get his attention and then motioned for him to follow after those two. Of course Nobu got up as soon as he was told to and then started off after Celestine. He then started down the steps of the porch and then looked back to Marius for a moment at least trying to look reassuring that they'd find Sonia, and hopefully before anything could happen to her. After a moment he turned and started after Nobu and the others. Ordinarily he might not have followed, just because he wasn't asked to go. But considering the shape Celestine was in he couldn't just stay at the house and wait for him to return. Nobu had started after Celestine and Kanone just as Kyran directed him. He had been paying attention to what was being said between them all and was a bit concerned himself. Though, mostly because he really did hate hunters. He caught up to Celestine easily enough and kept beside him while he was running. He turned his head slightly once he was beside Celestine and looked back to see if Kyran was coming too or if he'd been sent off without him. Once he noticed Kyran he turned his head back to watch where he was running. |
Nanashi sighed softly and closed his eyes before he just took another step closer to her and put his arms around her shoulders. "...Then why...can't you just do as I ask?" he asked quietly, "...I don't ask for a lot..." Really he never asked for much of anything from anyone. What he was asking of LaRae was probably the most that he'd actually asked of anyone in a long time. He was just tired of violence, he lived enough of it. He held no ill will toward anyone, he just realized how ignorant and stubborn most people were, but they were only that way because they were raised to be that way. He knew how the world worked, and he was just born with the short end of the stick. He let out his breath in a soft sigh and leaned his head down onto hers lightly. "...Please? That's all I want..."
Marius remained on the porch when the boys darted off but he did throw his hand up and call after Celestine, but the boy didn't stop so he didn't go after him. He just took a deep breath and then lowered his hand before he looked over to Kyran with an exceedingly worried expression on his aging face. His ears fell back slightly when he saw the look on Kyran's face and he nodded slightly. He just hoped that they were able to find her in time. He wasn't sure how far away she was from the village. Once Kyran started off after the boys he just leaned back agianst the side of the house as he stared after them until they disappeared from sight and then closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the house. Kanone didn't slow down for anything once he got started. He was out of the village in a minute and charging down the path that led to the next village where his mother had intended for him to go before. He couldn't help but want to kick himself for not doing this yesterday like she'd told him to, of course he'd had every intention of doing it until Celestine spazzed out on him. Now he was really starting to wish that he'd just ignored him and gone on. Celestine was running right behind Kanone though once they hit the woods he started losing more ground since his legs still didn't sully want to cooperate with him and he was tiring himself out completely. His foot caught on a tree root an sent him landing on his face in the wet leaves, and he slipped twice as he scrambled to get back to his feet, but once he got up again he just kept going as fast as he could, though he was quickly getting worn out. He wasn't about to stop, though. |
LaRae gasped quietly when he put his arms around her shoulders. Then she couldn't help but look at him, finally. She stared at him for a moment before lowering her eyes just a little. She bit her lip lightly continuing to keep herself quiet a bit longer. Though she quickly released her lip when he leaned his head down on hers. She hadn't expected him to stay in the room with her after she told him to get out, let alone get so close to her. She gave a soft sigh after hearing him say please. "...Okay, I'll... try..." She mumbled, finally just giving in. She couldn't give anything more then that because she couldn't promise that she'd always be able to keep her hands to herself. But since it obviously meant so much to him, she guessed she could at least try to refrain from letting her temper get the better of her and lead her into beating the crap out of those who picked on him. She started to lift her arms up from her sides, almost timidly. She was going to wrap her arms around him, but stopped and just let her arms fall back to her sides.
Kyran wasn't running as fast as he could, but he had a decent pace going so he didn't quite catch up to Celestine as fast as Nobu had. When he did get close enough, he kept behind him. He slowed though, when Celestine hit the ground and then watched as he scrambled to get back to his feet. He shook his head lightly. He snapped his fingers again to get Nobu's attention and then pointed ahead, signaling him to go on ahead of Celestine. Once Nobu had started to move ahead, he moved closer to Celestine. He was worried about Sonia, but he was more concerned with how all this running was going to effect Celestine and his getting better. Nobu had been taught to respond pretty well to Kyran when he snapped his fingers at him. Since he hadn't told Kyran he could talk, let alone completely understand everything he said. He needed some way to communicate with him. He did pick up his pace and move faster as Kyran had instructed. Since he couldn't run beside Celestine he moved up to be beside Kanone. He hoped that finding Sonia wouldn't be that difficult for them. Thankfully he would be able to help if they couldn't find her on their own. Aamori poked at the knot on the back of her head a couple more times before just dropping her hand back into her lap. She sat there quietly and finally stood up from the chair, stretching as she walked to the front door. She was incredibly sore from the way she was sleeping but she hoped that would work itself out as the day progressed. She set her hand on the door knob and then opened the door and slipped outside. She shut the door behind her and then looked over at Marius. She had barely been paying any attention to his rush outside but hearing the way he had opened and shut the door before was a little harder to ignore. She had gathered that something had to be wrong, especially now after looking at Marius. She was almost afraid to ask. "...What's wrong, Marius?" She asked quietly. |
Nanashi smiled weakly when she said that she would try. "...Thank you..." he said quietly. He stood there for a moment and nuzzled her gently before he finally raised his head and lowered his arms as he backed away from her. He sighed softly and then started to turn to go to the door to leave as she'd asked him to do before. He didn't know if she still wanted him to go or not, but he thought that she might so she could stop him if she had changed her mind. He at least didn't have to be asked three times before he got out, though if she had asked him a second time he would have just gone without another word.
Kanone continued to charge ahead, leading them on what would have been a good three or four hour walk through these woods in about 15 minutes before he finally skidded to a dead halt and froze, staring ahead at the ground when he saw what used to be a yellow dress. His breath caught in his throat and he just stared down at his mother body, or at lest what was left of it after they'd finished cutting her up. Whoever had been here was long gone, those hunters had learned to make quick work of getting what they needed and getting gone. Kanone raised his hands to his mouth and fell to his knees beside her as his eyes filled with tears. He slowly reached out to slide his hand down over her face and close her eyes before he just started sobbing. Celestine barely watched as Nobu ran by him, he was just trying not to fall again. He could be just as relentless on himself as he was on everyone else. He nearly fell a few more times as he ran, but he only hit his knees before he was up and running again. His side was aching terribly, but he was hardly paying any mind to it right now, at least not until they finally stopped. He stared for a moment in disbelief, looking completely sick to his stomach to see her body so mutilated. He already felt himself slowly going numb with disbelief, but even still he slowly moved forward to place his hand on Kanone's shoulder. Kanone jerked away from Celestine and turned on him, glaring daggers at him. "Don't touch me!! This is all your fault!! Why can't you just keep your damn dreams to yourself!? WHY!!?" He screamed at him, "We would have been better off if yo had just STAYED on that mountain!!!" He closed his eyes and dropped his head again before he pulled Sonia up into his arms and held her to him tightly. Celestine jerked his hand back away from him Kanone when he yelled at him, but the more Kanone shouted, the more any emotion seemed to just melt off of Celestine's face, until he was just staying at him blankly. He took a few steps back until he tripped over another root and fell on his butt, but he didn't bother to even try to get up. He was still in a lot of pain, but that hardly matter now. He didn't really feel it. It was like his mind had just completely disconnected itself from everything. He hardly felt anything at all except regret. He knew that Kanone was right, if he had just kept his mouth shut this wouldn't have happened. He loved Sonia almost as much as he'd love his own mother, even though he didn't want her trying to replace his mother. He hadn't meant to get her killed, he only wanted to make sure that she didn't lose another son. Marius looked over to the door when it opened and he sighed softly when he saw Aamori. He just looked down the street again and then closed his eyes. "...Sonia left the village..." he said quietly, "....and there are hunters in the forest." He opened his eyes again quickly when the image of the hunter cutting her open resurfaced in his mind and he threw his hand in front of his mouth again to stop himself from gagging, but it didn't really work this time. He moved away from Aamori and went to the side of he porch, putting his arm across his stomach as he gagged, but luckily he hadn't eaten anything yet today, so at least he didn't make it past gagging. |
LaRae continued to stand there without moving, even when he nuzzled her. She smiled very faintly at least until he started to move away from her, then it faded. She lifted her eyes up and watched as he started to leave the room. She assumed he was doing what she told him to do before. She sighed softly and looked away. She was going to just let him leave since he'd already started to but before she knew it she had already rushed over and hugged him from behind, clasping her hands together in front of him and then resting her head against his back. "...Please... Don't go..." She mumbled.
Nobu kept close to Kanone at least until he came to a stop. He'd already assumed the worst while they had been nearing closer, his nose was able to pick up on the blood pretty easily. He stopped a good couple feet behind Kanone, his ears fell back against his head and his tails dropped behind him. He hadn't really met the woman but it was never nice to see such a sight. Not to mention the smell wasn't pleasant to his nose. He lowered his head and practically buried is nose into the dirt before letting out a low whine. Kyran continued to follow them until they came to a stop. He looked over at Sonia's body and instantly wound up lifting his hand to his mouth. He finally had to look away. He looked over at Nobu for a moment when he heard him whine, he was going to kneel down and pet him but his attention shifted when he heard Kanone go off on Celestine. He stood there quietly and then watched when Celestine ended up falling on his rear. He sighed and looked over to Kanone. "You don't need to go throwing all of this on Celestine... how was he supposed to know that your mother was going to go out here today... Honestly, if he had known don't you think he would've warned her too." He said rather calmly. He glanced back over at Celestine for a moment before sighing again. "Regardless, right now isn't the time or place to hash this out." He really didn't think that Kanone needed to be yelling at Celestine over his Mothers dead body. If he really felt the need to blame it all on Celestine and yell at him, he could at least wait to do it. Nobu slowly lifted his head back up from the dirt once he had heard Kanone start yelling at Celestine. He stood there for a moment before moving over to Celestine once he'd fell on his rear and then forced his head against his chest and then nuzzled him for a minute before lifting his head back up. Aamori looked at Marius and was going to ask if he knew what happened to Sonia, if anything had. But after seeing him move away to the edge of the porch. Her eyes widened slightly, assuming the worst considering that he'd gagged and probably would've thrown up had there been something in his stomach. She stood there quietly for a moment, not really sure what to say. She lowered her eyes to the ground and finally spoke up a few moments later. "...Was it ...something you ...saw?" She inquired quietly. |
Nanashi came to a dead stop when LaRae grabbed onto him and he blinked in surprise before he smiled softly and raised his hand to place it lightly over hers. "...Yes?" he asked quietly, turning his head slightly to try to look back over his shoulder at her, though like before he couldn't really see her. He chuckled softly and shook his head. "...You like doing this to me, don't you? ...Not that I mind." he said quietly.
Kanone could barely even focus on what Kyran was saying. He wanted to blame it all on Celestine, he really wanted to...just because he knew that it wasn't Celestine's fault. Celestine was just trying to warn him, but he knew that if he didn't do it his mother would, that's what always happened. He should have just gone in the first place. He really wanted it to be Celestine's fault. He was so flustered at the moment that by the time he was done screaming he hardly remembered what he'd said; he was just screaming. He might not had been so upset, or at least not this hysterical if she had just been lying there, but she was so badly butchered that he could see her insides and he was getting blood all over himself just by holding her. He just rocked back and forth on his knees with her as he buried his face in her hair where her horn used to be. "....I..I'm s-sorry...I'm...I'm so sorry!!...." he sobbed into her hair. Celestine just sat there silently, staring at Kanone with Sonia's body with that same emotionless and blank expression. He felt like his stomach had just dropped to his feet while he sat there, barely comprehending what Kyran or Kanone was saying. He was just in a state of shock after he got here. He didn't know what to say or what to do, so he didn't even move. He didn't even seem to register when Nobu started to nuzzle him; he just sat there. Nobu probably could have bitten him and he would have just sat there. The odd thing was that he didn't even feel the desire to cry. He knew he should cry, he really should, especially after what Kanone said, but this just went beyond what tears could express. This was honestly no different than before when his own parents were killed, he just couldn't make himself function. He knew he should be as upset as Kanone, but he still couldn't make himself believe this was happening, even though he was sitting right there watching it. His breathing was very slow and shallow, and oddly relaxed. If not for that glassy, haunted look in his eyes, one might thing that he wasn't affected by this at all like he didn't even care. Marius took a few deep breaths once he finally got his stomach back under control and leaned back against the house again. He looked over to Aamori when she spoke and finally made himself nod weakly. He finally just slid down the wall so that he could sit on the porch and raised one arm to rest his elbow on his knee while he leaned his head into his hand, his face pretty well hidden by a curtain of his thinning silvery hair. He still just felt sick, and he couldn't even stand to close his eyes right now without seeing her face as she lay there bleeding to death. |
LaRae nuzzled her head against his back gently and smiled softly. She had meant to hug him before he started to walk away but couldn't seem to bring herself to do it. However that had changed when the prospect of him leaving and her not getting that hug hit her. She gave him a slight squeeze and nuzzled against him again as she smiled a bit more warmly. "...I got what I wanted..." She said quietly. She chuckled lightly after having done exactly what she'd done to him the day they first met.
Kyran heaved a heavy sigh when he noticed that his words were practically ignored. He shook his head lightly, he should've known that they wouldn't get through that easily. He just stood there for a moment, giving Kanone some more time to grieve. "...Kanone..." He paused. "...We should be heading back." He said as he looked back down at him. He could understand how Kanone was feeling right now, as most of the group could because nearly half of them had lost at least one parent. But he really felt they shouldn't just sit here like this, not to mention Marius was still waiting to hear the news. Nobu stared at Celestine and shook his head lightly seeing his blank expression. He wasn't really surprised to see him not respond when he nuzzled against him, however the blank and emotionless expression surprised him. Most people he thought would've broken out crying hysterically. '...Celestine...' He paused. 'Are you alright...?' He knew that sounded like a stupid question at a time like this but there wasn't more he could really ask. Aamori looked up when he started to lean his back against the house once more. She sighed softly when he nodded and then watched him slide down the wall of the house. She stepped closer to him after a moment and then knelt down on the ground beside him. She gave a little more space between them just because she wasn't so sure he wanted anyone close to him at the moment. She looked at him, her ears lowering slightly. "...What are the chances that she'll be alright...?" She asked quietly. |
Nanashi smiled slightly when LaRae repeated herself. He still remembered her saying that, and probably always would. He closed his hand over hers a little more tightly and sighed. "...So do I ever get to turn around for one of these?" he asked with a slight smile. She almost always seemed to catch him from behind when she went to hug him.
Kanone was trying his best to get a hold of himself, but he wasn't doing a very good job. Finally he managed to raise his head up a little just in time to hear Kyran say that they should go back. He sniffed a few times and then finally pulled his mother up into his arms, turning her so that she was facing toward him and her stomach was hidden from view for the most part. His blue shirt was already turning deep purple from the blood soaking into the material, but he really didn't care. He slowly turned around at looked at Kyran with those teary, heartbroken eyes and then lowered his head again. "...Come on, Celestine..." he said quietly, trying his best to keep his voice steady, though it was shaking nearly as bad as he was. Celestine just sat there, staring at Kanone. Even when Nobu spoke to him he didn't react, though that was because he hadn't heard him. He wasn't listening the right way to be able to hear him, it was like his mind had just closed off altogether. He understood Kyran and Kanone when they said they needed to go, but he couldn't get up. He tried to make his legs move, but they weren't paying attention to his brain it seemed. He didn't really care if he got up anyway. They could go back without him for all he cared. Marius raised his head a little to glance over to Aamori for a moment and then lowered his eyes again. "...I...I don't know." he said quietly. "...I rally don't know..." He shook his head and then lowered his head into his hand again. He wasn't going to cry...at least not until he was sure, but by then he was going to be too busy trying to comfort the boys to cry himself. With Sonia gone, if Sonia was gone, he was the only family that those two had left out of everyone. |
LaRae smiled a bit hearing him ask if he'd ever get to turn around for a hug. She hadn't really noticed but she did have a tenancy to hug him from behind. She lifted her head and looked up at him as best as she could from where she was. "...I guess you could turn around if you really wanted to." She said quietly and then loosened her clasped hands.
Kyran watched as Kanone got to his feet with his mother in his arms. He really hated seeing the look in his eyes. That look was all too familiar and he'd seen it at least three times before in his fathers eyes, and his sisters. He sighed very softly after lowering his own eyes for a moment. He stood quietly for a minute before lifting his eyes again and looking over at Celestine. He shook his head lightly, the poor guy looked dead to the world. He sighed again and started to move closer to him. Rather then take the time to see if he could walk on his own he reached down and grabbed a hold oh his arm to pull him up to his feet. "Since I doubt you can walk, you've got two options." He started. "You can sit on Nobu's back, or I can carry you." He said while looking down at him once he'd pulled him up to his feet. He hadn't let go of his arm just because he assumed that his legs were too weak. It really wasn't smart of him to go off running like that when he was healing to begin with. But, he did understand, you do crazy things when stuff like this happens. Nobu just stared at Celestine when he didn't respond, or even acknowledge that something was said to him. He guessed he shouldn't have expected an answer after all of this. He looked up at Kyran when he came over and watched as he pulled Celestine up. He listened to what Kyran said of the options that Celestine had. He didn't mind letting him sit on his back, if it helped. He was rather large to begin with so it wasn't going to be a problem for him. Then again it was probably just as easy for Kyran to just carry him. Aamori continued to stay quiet after hearing him say that he didn't know. Judging by the way he was sitting and acting, she assumed he expected the worst. She stared down at her hands, resting in her lap and then lifted her eyes for a moment. She lifted her hand and reached over to set it down gently on his shoulder. "...Did anyone go to look for her?" She asked quietly. Since she had been asleep she hadn't known that anyone had left. She was starting to feel like a nuisance because she kept asking questions and she thought Marius might rather just sit there quietly. |
Nanashi released her hand when she loosened her grip on his and then slowly slipped around in her arms so that he could face her. He smiled down at her and raised his arms to wrap around her neck since she already had his waist. he pulled her a little closer to him and leaned his head down against hers, nuzzling against her gently as he held her.
Celestine didn't even blink when Kyran pulled him up, he just let him drag him to his feet like he was some kind of doll. Kyran was probably right, he probably couldn't walk if he wanted to, but again, he really didn't care. He didn't even raise his eyes to look at him when he spoke to him, he just swallowed hard and continued standing there, only because Kyran was holding him up. He finally blinked, but his eyes still looked distant and he obviously wasn't paying attention to Kyran. He barely even seemed aware that he was standing up again. Kanone slowly looked over to Celestine again and stared at him for a moment before he sighed and lowered his eyes. "...He wont answer you..." he said quietly. "...Just get him...or he'll sit here." he said quietly before he finally started back toward the village again. He could have flown and getting there so much faster, but he didn't feel like flying, or running. It was going to take a couple of hours to get back at a walking pace, but he really didn't care. He wasn't looking forward to digging a grave when he got back anyway. Marius raised his head again slowly when Aamori touched his shoulder and then sighed softly. "...Yes... Kanone, Celestine, and Kyran went after her..." he said quietly. He sighed and leaned his head back against the house again for a moment before he glanced down the way that the others had taken off in again. He closed his eyes again with a sigh and again nearly gagged, but he opened his eyes again and pressed the side of his hand to his mouth again before he sighed. "...Oh god...I can't even close my eyes..." he muttered quietly. |
LaRae watched as he turned himself around in her arms and couldn't help smiling at him. Her cheeks tinted pink lightly when he pulled her closer. She turned her head slightly, closing her eyes and then rested his against him. She completely unclasped her hands and then pressed them along with a small part of her arms flat against his back. She wasn't sure that they could get any closer then they already were, but she held close.
Kyran sighed softly seeing as Celestine was practically unresponsive. He looked over to Kanone when he spoke and then looked back to Celestine briefly before shifting slightly so that he could slip his other arm under Celestine's knees. While he did that he quickly let go of his arm and replaced it behind his back. He half thought about just slinging him over his shoulder since he wasn't going to complain, but at least this way it wasn't quite as embarrassing for him and the last thing he needed was to hurt him or have him throwing up from being upside for the trek back to the village. He sighed softly again and then started walking after Kanone. He was quiet for a moment before glancing down at Celestine. "I assume that you've seen him like this before..." He uttered quietly. Nobu stood there until Kyran had picked up Celestine. He just stared up at them for a moment before watching Kyran start to walk. He followed after him seconds later, being sure to keep closer to Kyran then Kanone. At the time he wasn't even sure that he wanted to be that close to even Kyran, since he was going to be walking not to far behind Kanone. He really did hate the smell of blood and his nose was extremely sensitive to it. Though, dried blood wasn't quite as bad as fresh. It reminded him too much freshly cut meat, and that's pretty much what it was coming from in this case. The smell alone was enough to make him lose his appetite. After a few more steps he wound up trailing a little further behind Kyran trying to avoid the smell as much as possible. Aamori was at least relieved to hear that someone had gone after her. Now she just hoped that they'd find her and that she'd be alright. She really felt like this family had seen enough heartbreak as it was, and another possible death only made her wonder what it was going to take to hold the rest of them together. She had never experienced the loss of a loved one so she couldn't begin to imagine what it would be like. She finally pulled her hand back after a few minutes and sighed softly hearing that Marius couldn't even close his eyes. She really wasn't even sure what she could do or say. Since she didn't know she thought the best she could do was sit there quietly and wait with him. |
Celestine hardly blinked when Kyran picked him up, though he wouldn't have really cared if he'd put him on Nobu of just left him there. Once he had him in his arms he just leaned his head against Kyran's shoulder lightly and stared off at the trees as they passed by them. After a few minutes he slowly raised his hand and clung to Kyran's vest weakly.
Kanone sighed softly as he continued walking. "...Y-yeah..." he said quietly, "...Wh-when...Celeste a-and Corentin...d-died..." he said quietly, his voice still wavering badly. He was trying his best not to start sobbing again, but thinking about his aunt and uncle wasn't really helping. He just lowered his eyes back to Sonia's body again, which again didn't help him. He just started crying again as he continued forward, though he was trying to be quite. This wasn't Kyran's problem, though he was kind of glad that he was here. If he hadn't come he would have had to leave Sonia out there to carry Celestine back himself. |
Kyran glanced down at Celestine when he felt his hand on his vest. He had chosen to just carry Celestine because he wasn't sure that he'd have sat on Nobu and held on. Nobu wouldn't have been able to keep Celestine from falling off if he wasn't holding onto him. He sighed softly and then shook his head lightly after lifting his eyes from Celestine. He couldn't say he blamed him for just zoning out completely and looking so numb to everything. But after hearing that he'd been like this before when his parents died, well it just made him shake his head. It couldn't possibly be healthy for him to be doing this to himself. And of course now he wondered just how long Celestine was going to stay like this. It wasn't really much different from the way he was, when he was paralyzed and laying in that bed. He could at least move by the looks of it though. He glanced back briefly when he didn't notice Nobu beside him. He was a little surprised to see him lagging a good distance behind them. After he thought about it for a minute he assumed that the smell of the blood must have been bothering him. He sighed softly and then just barely noticed that Kanone had started crying again. "...I ...know it hurts..." He started, quietly and sympathetically. "But you should really try and focus on getting out of here." He was worried that Kanone crying again might lead to an utter breakdown and he wasn't equipped to deal with that right now. So he really did hope that Kanone could pull himself back together long enough to at least make it back to Marius.
|
Kanone just closed his eyes tightly and continued walking. He tried again to choke down his tears and once he did he had to just keep his head up and forced himself not to look down. "...Yeah..." he said quietly. "...I'm...I'm...trying..." He took in a deep breath and sighed, before he just kept walking. He didn't say another word to anyone as he walking and he didn't let himself look down or cry. He knew Kyran was right, he needed to get out of here at least, then he could cry later. He took them nearly two an a half hours to get back to the village at the rate they were going and he could hear the few people who were out gasping or muttering, at what they could see so he was glad that he had turned her so that the worst of it was hidden from view. It wasn't long after they hit the village that they started to get close to Marius's house, and then Kanone seemed to be moving in slow motion until he finally stopped moving at all. He was looking at the house, though it was still about 50 yards away. He could still see Marius and Aamori on the porch. He felt his eyes watering up again and he tried to make himself move forward, but he couldn't. What was he supposed to tell Marius? He'd gotten there too late.
Celestine hardly moved at all the whole way back. His only movement was to twitch his ear when a small white butterfly landed on the tip of it, and then to turn his face inward toward Kyran's chest, though he still never even offered to cry. Marius was just sitting there quietly the whole time, though he had eventually seemed to calm down a little. He had accepted that whatever was going to happen would, so he just say and waited until he saw the others coming back. He stood up then and moved to the edge of the porch, raising his hand to rest on the post beside him as he looked out at them, though when he saw Sonia in Kanone's arms he sighed softly and lowered his head. "..." |
Kyran stayed quiet for the remainder of the trek back. Though he occasionally looked back to Nobu to make sure he was still following them. Then he also shifted his glance between Celestine and Kanone a few times while he walked. He was a little surprised that Kanone seemed to be able to hold himself together for awhile. He did notice that his pace slowed and then came to a stop the closer that they got to Marius' house. He sighed softly and came to a stop beside him, glancing over at him with that sympathetic look he'd had since they found his mother. "Don't stop now." He paused. "You've done good to make it this far, there isn't much more to go." He said quietly before starting past Kanone. He got a couple feet ahead and then turned back slightly. "Lingering there is only going to give everyone else in the village a terrible sight to look at..." He added lastly before he continued the rest of the way over to the porch. When he reached the porch he looked at Aamori for a second before resting his eyes on Marius. He sighed softly and then lowered his eyes. "...I'm sorry." He said quietly. He was pretty sure that Marius had gathered enough just from looking over at Sonia, but if he hadn't he was sure that him saying sorry was enough to give it away.
Nobu continued to follow after Kyran and maintained the distance between them. When they wound up in the village finally he started to near a little closer to Kyran. Though when Kyran came to a stop beside Kanone he continued to walk past them both and straight over to the porch. He went up the steps and straight for the front door. He just wanted to get as far away from the scent of blood as possible. He couldn't very well open the door himself, but he smacked at it lightly with his paw hoping that someone would open it so he could go bury his nose somewhere. Aamori sat on her knees quietly near Marius the whole time they were waiting, not bothering to move even once. She had her head tilted down and she'd been fidgeting with her fingers. She didn't like having to sit here and wait for the news, but she guessed she'd rather be waiting then stand the chance of finding out along with the boys who'd left. She spent the whole time talking to herself in her head, bouncing around half a dozen different thoughts that changed very so often. She finally came to and looked up at Marius when she noticed him get up. She sat for a moment before noticing the boys were finally coming back. She started to get to her feet and move over towards Marius, but just as her eyes focused on them she caught sight of Nobu moving rather quickly back to the house. She watched him get up on the porch and then immediately go for the door. She quirked a brow slightly and then moved over to the door when he started smacking it with his paw. She opened the door enough that Nobu could slip inside and then shut it and moved back to the end of the porch about the time that Kyran arrived with Celestine in his arms. She looked at Celestine for a moment with a rather worried look on her face after seeing him and then shifted her eyes so she could look at Kanone, only now focusing on Sonia in his arms. Her expression went sad and she went slightly pale and then looked over at Marius. She was quiet for a moment before managing to open her mouth. "....I-Is ...she...?" Her sentence trailed off and she didn't bother finishing it. |
