Laying on the floor, she closed her eyes for a few brief moments, feeling rather woozy. "Mm, well, yes, I would imagine so," she murmured. "You aren't exactly hard on the eyes, even if you do seem to be a royal pain upon first meeting." Grunting, she pulled herself up, sitting there cross-legged and bent in half, clinging to her knees for support as the room spun a little. Chuckling, she shook her head. "Unless you're still hiding secret intentions to kill me, no, they wouldn't." She paused, then smiled up at him. "You might want to go, I'm gonna be in here for a while, I think. I'll find some excuse- my limbs seem to be protesting the strenuous amount of magic I just used up."

Scooting back away from the door so that he could open it, she felt her arms and legs trembling, and nearly scowled- she hated feeling so weak. "With luck, they may not even notice the doorknob is gone," she mused, "Especially if they really never use this room." Her prattling on was mostly to drive him out, or at least distract him. The weakness was more than exhaustion, the strain of using so much magic in such a short amount of time drawing enough on her reserves that she needed to eat, and soon.

And she doubted that when she contacted her brother to come and bring her what she needed, Alan would appreciate the sight... or that Tl'Kao would appreciate Alan's presence.

[XD Whewt! After school the next day, though, ja? Kalie kinda needs to eat her numnums now, and she can't exactly do that and then just turn around and be all 'KAY READY FOR ACTION' considering just what her food is... *ominous* Also, yes, Kalie does think Alan's smexy. She's honest 'bout it, too.]

Leona of the Zodiac 03-11-2008 12:15 AM

"Pain in the rear you say?" Alan asked, arching both brows. "Hmph, I was just watching over my baby sister is all," he replied. "I mean from my perspective for all I knew, she was about to be eaten. You would be protective as well! Although I er... apologize for overdoing it a slight," he admitted, shaking his head.

His cheeks were bright red, but THAT came from her comment about being easy on the eyes. Which, he knew he was. That was why he had cut his hair short actually. Back when he had kept it long, girls tended to actually tackle him. It was a bit much to say the least.

He blinked once more at her, before giving a sigh. "Right then, I am on my way. I can tell when someone needs some space," he added, before giving a wave. "Take care of yourself," he added, before slipping back into the hallways.

What a day... how would he explain this to Father?

((Yesh :3 And wow, I'm kinda curious now what nomnoms she eats! I didn't even think of that! *laughs* Haha, wow, we have a whole new level of interesting. Least Alan has a shirt on. Haha, you should see him shirtless. He only did it once, and like five gals swooned. ><; Needless to say after that he decided to keep his shirt on :3))

ToastedWhiskers 03-11-2008 01:02 AM

Kalie sighed in relief when he left, flopping back on the floor and simply lying there for a few minutes, and then lifting her hand to part her hair. Beneath the masses of straight locks, there was a single braid, tied with a red ribbon and a brown hair darker than her own. She pulled at the ribbon until it came undone, and undid the braid, feeling the magic tied into the strand calling out to her brother. With nothing more to worry about, she closed her eyes, resting until she felt the displaced air caused by her brother's arrival rushing over her. Her eyes opened blearily, and she clung to him when he picked her up, sighing. "What am I going to do with you, Khaelgia?" His voice was chilly and smooth, and familiar, and she relaxed as she felt them moving, disappearing until they arrived back at her true home.

"Mm," she yawned, smiling at him. "Hello to you too, Tighla'Kiao. I thought you had agreed that my name was Kalie now."

He scoffed at that, setting her down in a chair carved from stone and whisking off to an adjoining room. "Just because inferior races cannot emit the sounds needed to properly pronounce your name does not mean i am going to call you by that silly little human name." Coming back in, he held a cup filled with viscous red liquid. "One cup of Ikkael Blood, fresh from the pup's throat, even. Drink up, stupid sister mine, and then you're going to tell my just why the hell I can sense holy power all over you."

Grimacing at the smell of the blood, Kalie nonetheless downed it, chugging the contents of the large cup quickly and then gagging. "Fresh? If this is fresh then I'm a hobgoblin, Tl'Kao." Noticing the scowl on his face, she sighed, resting her head in her arms. "It was a misunderstanding. I ran into an Angel-"

"Ighetjak," Tl'Kao cursed, eyes narrowing.

"- and he knew what I am. He thought I was going to hurt his sister, so he did what any good brother would do," she continued, as though he hadn't spoken.

"I told you that place was bad for you, Khaelgia. You're not going back." He stood, only to be tugged down again by her hand fisted in the back of his top.

"Like hell I'm not," she snarled. "I worked my ass off to go there, and the guy apologized, so it's no big deal. I'm not going to just back down because of something so insignificant."

"..." He eyed her, contemplating, then snarled back. "Fine. But you aren't going back alone, foolish sister. And if there is any threat to you, any, you're coming right back to the Ghaleiwak, and I'll give anyone who so much as looks at you the wrong way the bloody, fiery end they deserve."

"Yes, yes," she said dismissively, falling back into human dialect. "Now... Let's go see Klii."

~~~
Armed with a fresh outlook, an orb containing a picture of her beloved giant Arachnid, and two rather menacing brothers flanking her, Kalie returned to school the next day with hopes for the best and expectations for the worst. She stopped by the locker only to grab her Elemental Magics book, then settled herself in the classroom, uncomfortably aware of the two looming presences that seated themselves on the counter behind her. The teacher's eyebrows rose. "I do hope you don't intend on making this entourage a habit, Ms. Jefford. While I understand your plight, if my class is disrupted in any way, you're out for the rest of the week, and you'll have to come in after school to make up the labs."
Kalie nodded, brushing her hair back and quietly replying, "Of course, Ms. Illia. They won't say a word." As she said, the two brothers stayed silent, the long-haired one, Tl'Kao, glaring at every being seated in the classroom, Ci'aran resting his feet on the back of Kalie's chair and watching the door carefully. She sighed, hoping that today at least, Celepas would choose to exercise caution.
[And now it's time for... WORDS OF THE DAY! =3 Note that everything in italics is said in the Demon Dialect, mostly translated for your benefit, since no human has the capacity to understand, much less speak, Demonic Dialect.
Khaelgia - Kalie's true name, translated roughly to Blessed Girl, ironically enough.
Tighla'Kiao - Tl'Kao's true name, translated roughly to Menace. Appropriate, no?
Ikkael - Think of a blind Tiger mixed with one of those Chinese Crested dogs with a light spattering of anteater, and you get an Ikkael, a mostly tame creature that lives belowground. Demons, while they can feed on any 'animal' blood, have been forbidden from tasting human blood, which will poison them. Since they've been banished belowground, Ikkael Blood is their favored, though certainly not favorite, meal.
Ighetjak - Roughly equivalent to 'Fuck' or 'Shit'- indicates displeasure with something in a rather rude context.
Ghaleiwak - The name for the Communities that Demons live in.
Klii - A Human-Speech approximation of the Demonic word for 'Spider'.
And now you know what nomnoms she eats. ^.^ Mwahaha. Yes, yes we do... Tl'Kao objects, by the way. He thinks he's much prettier than any angel-boy. Ohmy, what I wouldn't give to see that... *plots a way to get his shirt off* >D And, uh, sorry for the long post? I got really carried away. Tl'Kao wanted to talk. XD;;]
Leona of the Zodiac 03-11-2008 02:14 AM
Celepas, yet again, was late. Late late late. Last night, she had been in for a most uncomfortable situation to say the least. First, Alan caught her up on things. It was good to hear that Alan had made friends with Kaylie. Although when they arrived home their Father had been less than pleased.
Thankfully, angels healed fast. She knew her Father was just being protective, but still. She sighed a slight. His words or no, she was going to keep going at things like she usually did.
She was the last to arrive in class, huffing a slight. "Sorry I'm late Ms. Illia!" she said qickly, bowing a slight. The last seat, as usual... was beside Kalie. Which of course, Celepas sat in. She noted the two brothers, and remembered Kalie's words about them. She gave them each a polite nod in greeting before sitting down, hopeful just her presence wouldn't start anything. Oh dear.
"Morning Kalie," she said cheerfully. She was trying to be careful as Kalie had asked, but she wasn't about to be rude either! That just wasn't her way.
((No worries, it was a great read. I love when charries have some intricate histories and whatnot! I bet he does! *laughs* They should have a contest, see who attracts the most ladies :P And plot away, I wanna see too! *giggles*))
ToastedWhiskers 03-11-2008 02:32 AM
Tl'Kao stiffened the instant that the Angel came through the door, eyes narrowing further as the temperature of the air around him dropped several degrees. It was downright frigid when she sat next to his sister, and, unable to speak the Dialect of humans, he hissed in his own languages, "Is this the Angel, sister mine?"
Kalie turned to look blanky at Tl'Kao. "No," she replied in their tongue, fully aware only they knew what was being said. "He was male. Are you so old that you have forgotten that breasts only appear on females?" Tl'Kao snarled, and she turned, promptly dismissing his anger. She smiled at Celepas. "Good morning, Celepas," she replied. "We're summoning air from water, today- it's blessed again, I think, only this time on purpose," she stated, frowning down at her little bowl of water. "But no matter. How are you today?"
Ci`aran, who had up until this point been silent, bent forward, offering an abbreviated bow from his position. His voice was quiet, deep, and unshakable. "Good Morn, fair one. My apologies for our rudeness, my brother speaks not the Dialect of the humans, and I fear I am not much better than he. I am Ci`aran, and this, my brother Tl'Kao. We are the siblings of Khaelgia- that is to say, Kalie."
[Hehe. ^^ Yeah... Intricate histories, oh boy do you have it right there. @[email protected] XD They so should. They so will, in the cafeteria, though they probably won't know it. Watch, all the girls will be like 'OMG HOT GAIZ *swoon*'. <333 Teehee... Sadly, my only plot so far involves someone [probably Kalie, wimp that she is XD] getting hurt. *stores it away*]
Leona of the Zodiac 03-11-2008 06:57 AM
She sighed as well, knowing that more than likely it was. "I'll fix it" she promised, knowing Kaylie could not work with it in such a state. She indeed had no idea of the conversation, but had a feeling perhaps, it was best that she did not know either.
"Good morning," Celepas said, smiling towards the older demon and giving a soft nod back. "A pleasure to meet you as well!" She did so hope they were not too upset... she would hate to see soemthing happen especially when Kaylie's siblings were around.
She noted then that the teacher was not looking and smiling a slight. "Let's go ahead and fix this before I forget," she commented, and with a breath inhaled as she took in the holy magic, effectively un-blessing the water. "All fixed," she said with a grin.
She didn't realize, or if she did didn't think, about how strange it was for an angel to un-bless soemthing.
((Heeheee, that would be GREAT! I can see one of the gals taking Alan's shirt too for good measure as a collectors item :P And aaaaw, wow, that would suck poor Kaylie! Then again, chances are, noone in this group will be popular with folks > >))
ToastedWhiskers 03-11-2008 03:28 PM
Kalie offered a smile at Ci`aran, pleased that he wasn't being half the pain in the ass that Tl'Kao was. "Thank you, Celepas," she said. "And I'm really sorry about him," here she jerked her thumb over her shoulder towards Tl'Kao, "He's an idiot."
"Nhgiwapte," Tl'Kao retorted, understanding every word she said, and she glared at him.
"Well you are." She sighed, then held her hands over the small bowl of water, feeling for the element of air that resided in the water, then biting her lip hard and concentrating on pulling it towards her... And nothing happened. She frowned at the bowl, mumbling under her breath, then turned to Celepas. "Oh! I almost forgot! Would you like to see a picture of Klii? I had to go home early yesterday, so I managed to snag one while she was being relatively peaceful."
Ci`aran made an amused sound in the back of his throat. "You are going to give us a bad name if you go around showinag everyone that monstrosity, you know," he mocked.
"But she's cute!" Kalie insisted, pouting at him.
[Ehe... Sadly for the fangirls, Tl'Kao's top doesn't come off that easily. XD;; Here's hoping they don't pull on it too much, it's delicate and he'd be reaaaaally depressed if it ripped, since it took him like eight months to gather all the silk needed to make it from Klii. =3 And yeah, well, I'm pretty sure no one in the school is going to be pleased with what Kalie is, so her getting hurt is only a matter of time. ._.
Nhgiwapte - Roughly equivalent to "Bitch", literally translated, "Mean Girl".
Leona of the Zodiac 03-12-2008 02:51 AM
Celepas blinked, looking from brother to Kalie. Now she understood what Kalie had meant when talking about her brothers! "It is alright, he had ever right to be as such," she replied. "My kind doesn't exactly have the best reputation," she admitted, blushing a slight.
"I would love to see her," Celepas replied, smiling once more. She really did, not only because she had never seen a giant spider before but because she wished to know a bit more about Kalie's beloved pet!
Celepas was distracted from even working on her own water by this point, so hers did not really have much going on yet either. But right now, she wished to see the picture. Then she could catch up. This sort of water trick was easy after all right?
((*Giggles* Wow, thats a long time :3 Heres hoping then! Poor pretty boys are so in for it at lunchtime! *Grins* Alan is thankful right now he adopted casual attire versus his nice formalwear :P))
ToastedWhiskers 03-12-2008 03:47 AM
"No, he didn't," she murmured, repeating the statement in her own guttural language for Tl'Kao's benefit, though the repeat had quite a few extra words in it as well as a rougher tone. Never let it be said that Kalie would let her brothers get away with anything. When she wore herself out on that, she dug into her pocket, pulling out a small bead. "Alright, I simply have to resize the orb- I had to make it smaller to carry it." Se closed her eyes, holding it in her hands and chanting softly.
"The orb was bound by blood and magic, magic and blood, my blood, my magic, the orb was bound by these. I call the blood, I call the magic, I call the magic, I call the blood. I unbind the orb, the orb is unbound." She leaned down, un-cupping her palms and blowing softly over the orb. The crystalline sphere growing in her hands. She smiled then at Celepas. "A rudimentary spell, but useful. Um..." She tapped it a few times, then smiled, a picture of a large, fat spider with long, spindly legs lying flat on it's back, eighteen red eyes staring at a tall young-looking man appearing on the screen.
"That's my Father- he's the only one other than me that Klii actually likes. She was expecting a belly-rub..." She smiled fondly. Behind her, Ci`aran snorted and Tl'Kao scoffed.
[XDDD Yep! He's got a back-up, actually, but it's not nearly as nice, and most of Klii's silk now is going towards making a bridal gown for Kalie... Her mom's plotting with another mother in the Community to marry Kalie off to some nice Demon boy. ._. Shh, don't tell, that's gonna be a plot in and of itself later. Haha, Alan's smart, smart indeed~]
Leona of the Zodiac 03-12-2008 03:59 AM
"I see...' Celepas said, looking towards what looked like a small bead. She had never seen such magic worked, and as such she was naturally very curious indeed!
"Wooow," she said, truly impressed. "That IS useful!" She looked into the sphere, noting the giant spider on her back and giggled. Celepas could see all of those eyes, but she wasn't afraid. Instead, she was curious.
"Klii IS cute!" she exclaimed. "A bellyrub huh? Haha, I bet she does like those! Does she have soft pots one can pet as well?" she asked, amused. She had never seen such a pet before, but the mental image was enough to definitely make her grin. She noted the brothers reaction and stifled a giggle, shaking her head.
"I hope your dad gave him one at least!" She added. She noted how young Kalie's dad looked compared to her own, which really was a strange contrast. Celepas's own father was a severe man to say the least, with a long white beard and white hair tied back in a braid.
"I can;t keep pets myself," she admitted. "But seeing pets like Klii make me want to try to ask Father again. Does Klii do tricks too?" she asked, curious.
((Oh wow, poor Kalie! I wont tell! *giggles* And yes, yes Alan is. *grins broadly* Dang it, you have all these plotbunnies :P I dun have many myself. I should breed some though. *Grins* I just have the one for the halfling twins. I should get into Celepas's homelife a bit more, 'cept there ain't much to say. Just that her dads a jackass o.O Poor poor Ci'aran. Those gals are gonna go nuts over him... > >))
ToastedWhiskers 03-12-2008 04:24 AM
Kalie beamed, pleased that her new friend could see what was obvious to her, too- that Klii was the most adorable creature on the face of the planet. Because she was- Kalie had laced poison with the Ikkael's Blood of the last person to insult her pet in any way. It wasn't enough to kill a demon, but it had given them awful cramps for days. Nearly giggling at the thought, she placed the orb on the table, nodding. "Yeah- her stomach and her throat, oh, and there's one spot on her front left foreleg that she just loves to have scratched." She nodded. "Yeah, he did, but only after she tried to put him in a cocoon. He doesn't like her that much, she kind of scares him. My father is more of a wimp than I am."
She frowned, tilting her head. "What? Why not? Well, not many in the Communities have pets- aboveground animals don't really thrive well underground, and most underground animals are too vicious to keep around for any length of time. But I can't see there being that kind of problem aboveground..." She shrugged. "Oh, yeah! She does everything that an aboveground pet can do- rolls over, plays dead, opens doors, serves dinner..." Her face stayed completely straight as she said this, betraying no hint of amusement- she was completely serious.
Tl'Kao, showing interest for once, leaned forward, tapping Kalie on the shoulder. "Ask her why her father will not allow her to have pets," he all but ordered imperiously.
Kalie stared at him, then translated, cautiously. "He... wants to know... why your father won't let you have a pet." She turned curious eyes back to Celepas, then turned her attention back to her bowl of water, letting her hands hover over it. That was strange, she mused, not even noticing when the water started to churn, bubbles of air rising to the surface. Tl'Kao never showed interest in anyone that he wasn't... interested... in. Her eyes narrowed. Hmm...
[Hehe... =3 Pshaw. I have too many plot bunnies, most of which I type up as they come to me. The wedding thing? I didn't know about it until I had it typed down there. XDD You so should! Aww, what, she doesn't have any neighborhood friends who have drama or anything like that? >D Yes, yes they are. And he's sooo unprepared... Ci`aran's such a loner. Tl'Kao's the playboy, which is why Kalie's so suspicious that he's showing interest in Celepas. Just watch, he'll have at least one girls willing to rent a hotel room with him before the day's over. Muahaha.]
Leona of the Zodiac 03-12-2008 05:04 AM
"She tried to put your Dad in a cocoon?" Celepas asked, giggling. "Wow I bet that was quite the sight! I suppose I would be quick to do what she wanted to!" She found herself wanting to pet those soft spots for Klii, but figured such a thing was impossible to say the least. Not to mention, she really wasn't sure how pets would react around her.
When it was listed what her pet could do, Celepas blinked in amazement. "Wait... she can serve you guys dinner too?" She asked, seeing Kalie's serious look. "I have to ask, but how long did you have to train her to do that?" she asked.
When asked a question to answer, she blushed brightly and sighed. "Ah well... Father doesn't really like pets. He claims it would sully everything nice in the house. Birds would be too noisy, dogs and cats would shed..." She sighed.
"We had a cat back when Mom was still around I used to really like. When Mom passed though he found the cat a new home. I tried to bring a small ferret home once but... it didn't end well," she said quietly, shaking her head. One might wondered what exactly she meant by that, but the angel didn't elaborate.
((Haha, plot as you go eh? Sweet! As for friends, Celepas there is considered a class a weirdo in her neighborhood actually o.O *snickers* Poor poor Ci'aran. Id be suspicious too if I was Kalie! *laughs* Tl'kao figured he should make the most of his time aboveground eh? *Giggles*))
ToastedWhiskers 03-13-2008 08:47 PM
Kalie laughed slightly, blushing. "She does that all the time to get what she wants. Usually more so when she's about to lay a clutch of eggs, so I'm hoping she's not fertilized again, it took forever to carry all those eggs away from the house last time." She paused, then shrugged. "Yeah. She gets the bodies, we get the blood. It was easy enough to train her to eat over the bowls so that we could catch the blood. It was only a small step from there to get her to place the bowls on the table." She sounded dismissive, unaware of how bad this really sounded. "It only took about six months, I think- not bad for a giant, 'un-tamable beast'."
Tl'Kao smiled slightly [cue all the girls in the room flushing] and shook his head. "Surely such a beautiful face cannot be denied. Are there not short-haired animals that do not shed? That is a shame." Kalie let out a disgruntled sound, then cheered quietly when she realized that her water had bubbles rising to the top. She'd done it!
Turning, she rested one arm over the back of her chair. "He asked if there are any short-haired animals you could convince your father to let you keep," she said, omitting a great part of what he had said. He glared at her and she glowered right back. "Like hell am I translating that. If you want to woo my friend, you are going to have to find a different way, I am not going to help. I will sabotage you- I know how you are with girls, do not think I am blind, Brother."
[Awwww. Poor Celepas! She's so nice though!!! =[ Hehe, yes indeed he has. He thinks she's pretty, and she hasn't run screaming, so... =3 Kalie's smarter than he thinks, though. ^.~]
Leona of the Zodiac 03-13-2008 11:25 PM
Celepas, after she had spoke, remembered the glass on her table and blushed brightly as she started her magic upon it. Ooops! But then, it was easy to get distracted considering the circumstances really!
She blinked at the description of food, arching a brow. "Bodies?" she asked, curious. She knew Kalie didn't mean human bodies, she was pretty certain that was an old wife's tale. Plus, she figured she would ask versus assuming! But then again, Kalie mentioned her family drank the blood.
But... er... was it like how people had cows? That sort of thing? Except... oh well now she was a slight confused! Bother! But she didn't act grossed out at least!
When Tl'Kao smile even Celepas cheeks started to blush brightly. He really did have a handsome smile, didn't he?
"Hey, congrats!" Celepas said, noting Kalie's jar. Of course, her own was already ready. Perk to being an angel this round. When asked about animals she shook her head. "I brought home a hairless cat once and he said no. Even tries snakes and frogs... no such luck," she said with a sigh.
She blinked when Kalie and her brother started to glare at each other, looking at them both with confusion. "Is everything alright?" she asked, of course unable to hear what was being said.
((She is! But the problem lies with the cute 'lil wolf ears and tail she has. A very recessive trait, she gets poked fun at all the time because of them, and kids in her area love to tweak them or pull at them or other really bad things x-x; Her grandmother actually had them, but her grandmother was kinda not so nice and Celepas knew she didn't want to end up like that. *Falls over giggling* Wooow, haha, yeah I suppose not screaming would be a plus. :3 Oh yeah! I have Alan sketched out, just have to color him :P))
ToastedWhiskers 03-14-2008 03:16 AM
Kalie blinked, then coughed, flushing. "Oh! Um, yeah... Not human, of course," she said, waving her hands almost frantically. "Demons can't consume human blood, it's like poison to us because of all the pollutants they ingest, and all the diseases that inherently flow in their immune systems. We generally eat... er, drink... Ikkael blood. They're weird little hairless dog-anteater-tiger things, I guess is the best way to explain it." She smiled, nervously. "Sorry, it's just now that my 'secret' isn't a 'secret' anymore, it's hard for me to remember that you don't really know anything true about my kind."
Tl'Kao's eyes flashed slightly, and his smile melted into something a little more laviscious. "The gorgeous one can... learn... all she need to know about us from me," he murmured leaning forward to offer her a dazzling smile even though she couldn't understand what he said. Kalie reached over and smacked him upside the back of his head, glaring, and he jerked up and hissed at her. "You have no right!"
"No, you have no right to be speaking of her so poorly! She is not one of the Klshimaken from the Community! She will not sleep with you and feel nothing, and just because she can't understand you doesn't mean you have any right to speak of her such!"
While they argued, Ci`aran leaned forward, smiling faintly. "My apologies for my siblings. Tl'Kao has troubles to be careful of what he speaks. Kalie takes offense to this. They are very..." He struggled for the word. "Combative? Ah, no matter. Just remember, young one, to be wary of my brother. He is like the wild tiger- it may let you to pet it's head, but that does not mean it will not turn around and bite you afterwards."
[Awwww. D; Butbutbut... They're so cute! Unfair. Now I wanna make Kalie go all 'FIERY DEMON FROM HELL BITCH' on their asses... but she'd prolly get her ass kicked instead. ._. Ooh! Awesome!!! <3333 Nyerhehehehe~ Tl'Kao's not as evil as he likes to pretend he is. =\ Asshole yes, evil no. And Kalie can so take him down a peg or three if she needs to.
Klshimaken: Roughly equivalent to 'Whore'.]
Leona of the Zodiac 03-14-2008 03:44 AM
"Ah, okay," Celepas replied, relieved. "I didn't think you meant human, but I wasn't sure what you meant! I'm definitely still learning, you know? So if I ever get that clueless expression, that's why," she explained with a soft giggle. She really didn't, which was why she was intent on asking many questions and learning. She knew her Father would not be too keen upon the idea... but that was alright.
She blinked at Tl'Kao's change in expression. When the grin widened, she blinked again wondering what he was saying, or even thinking. Judging however from Kalie's immediate reaction, it could not have been pleasant!
"Thank you for the advice," she said, looking towards Ci'aran. I will definitely keep this in mind. Uhm... do they ever stop fighting though?" she asked, worried.
((They are, I love her ears too! Haha, well, maybe before the shirtless manliness Ill give ya a chance to see the neighborhood drama :P *Giggles* So I see. He just seems to be a very ornery one!))
ToastedWhiskers 03-14-2008 04:05 AM
Ci`aran chuckled softly, shaking his head. "No, they do not. Their quarrel is eternal. He will not... acknowledge... that she does not want him to hovering over her every move, but he knows that she needs the protection."
"Hey! I can protect myself," Kalie protested, before being dragged back into debate with Tl'Kao.
"She is our precious gemstone," Ci`aran continued as if she had never interrupted. "We will not let her to be harmed in any way. She is like the sunshine where we may not have any. But she is not dependant, she wishes to be a woman who support herself."
"... That was sickening," Tl'Kao grunted, eying Ci`aran warily. "If you start quoting sonnets, I am not staying."
"Well I thought it was sweet," Kalie retorted, turning to glance at the clock. "Oh, Goddess, Mihoralosa Avaiode must I really endure seven more hours of this torture?" She blinked. "Ah. Celepas, class is about to end." She picked up her book, shoving her chair back [and, incidentally, into Tl'Kao's kneecap], and smiled wearily. "I'll see you at lunch, alright?"
[Ooh, coolness. <333 I so want to arrange for Klii to somehow escape and like, attack everyone, and then have Kalie be all like *saves the day* 'Come here Klii! Gooood giiiirl. Want some treats? FETCH! ;D' Everyone would kinda just stare blankly. Indeed he is. He's just got a crunchy outside, he's a big softy inside.
Mihoralosa Avaiode: The name of the Goddess that most Demons worship.]
"I see... I guess all siblings fight a bit. Though I do hope it doesn't get too serious," she added, smiling a slight again. It reminded her of Alan and herself, getting into little arguments like that. She just wondered what half the things being said were!
"That's really nice of you two," she added. "Siblings really should protect each other. My brother's the same way with me..." she added, before flushing a slight as she remembered Kalie and her brother's first meeting. Oh please don't let anything like that happen today!
She giggled at Kalie's laments, before blushing again. "Ah, sorry, you two are just really amusing ti watch," she teased, before noting the bell. "Right then, see you at lunch!" she said, waving. To Kalie's brothers, she smiled again. "It was really nice meeting you both as well!" she added, giving a light bow since they were older before gathering her things to head to the next class.
ALMIGHTY TIMESKIP OF DOOOM... okay, maybe not :3
For once, Celepas got into the lunchroom early today. Looking around, she didn't see Kalie or her brother yet. Shaking her head with a soft sigh, she went to find a seat. But before she could, she was greeted by three of the kids from her neighborhood.
"Soooo Pasy, has it going?" said the older male, reaching over and tweaking Celepas's lupine ears hard. She flinched, since this was one of her more sensitive parts. "Haha, yep, still real!"
One of the girls, from behind, pulled Celepas's tail. This caused Celepas to grimace, and jump. "Yep!" the girl said with a laugh. "That's still real too! What kinda angel are ya anyways? Ears and a tail? Sheeesh!"
"I would appreciate it if you guys quit that," Celepas said, taking in a deep breath.
The third person in the group then pulled on Celepas's tail again, causing her to jump so hard she dropped her tray. This caused all three to roar in laughter, and much of the breakroom as well. Celepas blushed brightly, starting to pick up the tray. Which proved rather difficult as the three kids took turns tweaking her ears or tail, just to get a reaction.
((That would be hilarious! :3 Haha, and amusing too :3 Celepas would be like Ive seen the spider somewhere before... and Alan would be like WTF? Speaking of whom, haha, if alan was in the lunchroom and saw this all bets would be off. You would get to see some smiting! ))
Once more flanked by Team Trouble [as her Elven History teacher so kindly nicknamed them just before kicking them out of the classroom], Kalie made her way to the lunchroom, cautiously avoiding large groups in the hallways lest anything happen to set Tl'Kao off, as he was being rather... touchy. More so than usual. Really, she need not have bothered, though, as he was about to get to have some fun anyways. Reaching the lunchroom, she made her way towards Celepas, unable to mistake the head of silver hair, and frowned when she saw the three... were they Angels?... tweaking her ears and pulling on her tail. She had just opened her mouth to protest [or at the very least pull some kind of fiery hard-ass Demon act], but was beaten to it when Tl'Kao stepped forward, eyes hard and teeth gritted.
"And just what do you children think you're doing," he growled, flames dancing around the browns of his irises. His arms crossed over his chest, and he looked every inch the bad-ass that you did NOT wanna mess with. "If you value your livelihood, you will go along your business and stop being such juvenile brats.
Ci`aran translated, as Kalie was just gaping at him, dumbfounded. "He says you should go along your business and leave Miss Celepas alone, young ones, or he will have to make you," he said pleasantly, though his voice held a darker undertone to it as well. Kalie shut her mouth with a click of her teeth, then glowered at the people crowded around Celepas, moving forward to pick up the tray for her and growling, a low, animalistic sound that could make the hair on the back of any human necks stand straight up.
"I suggest you do as my brothers have said," she said, voice dangerously casual.
[>D Fear the Demon Siblings. They can be hella scary when they want to, although I would say, language barriers notwithstanding, Tl'Kao's still the scariest. Hehehe, that would be awesome. Klii would like Alan, I can tell... *giggle* Oh, yeah, no doubts. You might get to see something, even if it's not quite smiting, if those three don't wise up quickly.]
The three neighbors were indeed angels, but seeing not one, not two, but three people come up glaring made the trip pause. "I uhm... just remembered I had soemthing to do! Later Pasy!" One said, flushing, as he started to hightail it away.
"Er... me too!" the second said, going nearly as fast. The last however, tripped on himself before getting up and following after. Celepas breathed a sigh of relief, shaking her head. "Uhm, thank you, all of you," Celepas said, as things were finally cleaned up. She was blushing quite brightly actually. "It was my fault really, I got here too early and ran across them. They're... neighbors of mine. They like to tease me about my ears and tail..." she said quietly, before shaking her head.
"They try to make me ashamed of them and who I a, but I won't have it! It's just... last time I tried to stand up for myself things just escalated and... it was bad," she finished, giving a soft sigh. "So uhm, would you guys like to stay here or outside for lunch? Kalie knows where I mean," she added, smiling again. Her ears had perked back up at least. She truly was grateful.
That was however, about the time Alan came into the cafeteria. One could tell, because quite a few pairs of female eyes turned his way. He headed straight for his sister, however. Upon noting the remnants of mess on the floor, on her shoes, and the tray, his feathers ruffled and his eyes narrowed a slight. "What happened?" he asked, when his gaze turned towards the brothers. Instinct of course, wished to flare up. But he inhaled sharply, controlling himself. "Explanation?" he asked, tapping his foot instead. He hoped it was a quick one too, because he really did not want to make another scene. But if they had soemthing to do with this, he would!
((Haha, indeed, fear! Wow, that would make anybody just about piss themselves! *Giggles* Oh dear, I can see Alan being like NO WAY! Get it off! Poor Alan, assumptions ahoy! Im surethat mess will get straightened up. Meanwhile, haha, it amused me Tl'Kao made his sister actually speachless :3))
ToastedWhiskers 03-14-2008 09:50 PM
Kalie frowned. "It's not your fault that they're immature idiots," she said with passion. "That's not teasing, that's bullying." She sighed, handing Celepas back her lunch tray, then whipped around fast enough at Alan's voice to give her whiplash. Staggering back, she groaned and rubbed at her neck. "Ouch ouch ouch..." Looking up, she coughed. "Erm. Celepas'... 'friends' were being a little too forward," she said in explanation, knowing how it might look to such an overprotective brother. Her peace-keeping attempts were null and void, though, when Tl'Kao stalked forward, eyes still flaming, and circled Alan twice. "Shit! Tl'Kao, don-" She was cut off as a strong set of arms grabbed her around the stomach, one hand covering her mouth. "Mmph!"
Ci`aran's pleasant smile was strangely absentminded now. "No, you will not interfere. His aura is that of which attacked you. He will not get away." Kalie snarled behind his hand and sunk her teeth into it, and he brought it away instantly, cursing softly under his breath. He did not let her go, however.
"You, you are the one who hurt my sister," Tl'Kao growled, fire licking at his hands and eyes. "Give me one good reason not to reduce you to a pile of ash where you stand, scum bag. NOW!" Ci`aran translated easily, not leaving out a single word, even as Kalie scratched at his arms.
"Let! Me! GO! Tl'Kao, he didn't know," she pleaded, 'ooph'ing as Ci`aran's arms tightened around her waist. She shoved her elbow back into his gut, and he coughed. "Celepas," she said, desperately, "Back away, please. I need to do something and I don't want you to get caught in it."
[XDD!!! Those Angels amuse me. And yeah, poor Alan indeed- Unless he has some pretty damn good explanations, his ass is going to be pot roast. =\ Of course, he can protect himself, but he's not gonna get away unscathed. Tl'Kao's faaaaar stronger than Kalie. Hehehe, yah. It's not often that he gets to do that. Him actually [i]caring[i] threw her off.]
Leona of the Zodiac 03-14-2008 10:07 PM
"ALAN!" Celepas yelled. "Really, it's okay, Kalie's right! It was those kids again!" Alan blinked a moment, remembering those angels a bit better than he would like. Those who would pick even on those of their own kind.
Before he could say anything else, he found himself being circled by one VERY angry looking older brother. 'Well... crap,' Alan thought to himself. Of course he could not understand a word said, the gestures, the flickering eyes, and the fire in his hands said it all.
"I THOUGHT she had tricked or was getting ready to harm my baby sister," he explained, as he prepared himself. "I overreacted, fine. I apologized, these misunderstandings happen. If it makes you feel better to try and hit me, then go ahead. But I warn you I am not such an easy target," he added, as he prepared the appropriate holy spells.
"ALAN!" Celepas cried out. "Now isn't a time for your stubborn pride!" The girl was quite clearly alarmed, because she didn't want to fight but she didn't wish for Alan to get hurt either! That was when Kalie pleaded with her to back off. Celepas blinked, but took a few steps back. "I trust you," she added, her eyes going back towards her brother. Oh stupid stubborn older brothers! There was no reason too fight, but she knew Alan felt as though it was his very honor being challenged. She hoped Kalie had soemthing good up her sleeve...
((*laughs* Oh dear, and yes, their the neighborhood hoodlums, like those kids on simpsons almost :P Oh man, what a first meeting :3 Haha, Alan can be such a dumbass sometimes, but I love him anyways. x-x; ))
ToastedWhiskers 03-14-2008 10:33 PM
And oh, but did she ever. As Celepas backed away, Kalie stopped struggling, and pulled out a medium length piece of hemp rope from her pocket. She was glad she had remembered to bring it today, and she tied one knot at one end, another three inches away, and continued until she was able to knot the ends together as well, making a roughly necklace-sized circle- Ci`aran, engrossed with the soon-to-be fight, didn't notice. Closing her eyes, she went limp in Ci`aran's arms, hands folded around the hemp. "I call the power of the Goddess, I call the power of Mihoralosa Avaiode, I call the power of the holy one. I draw Her power into me, in through my eyes, in through my ears, in through my tongue, in through my nose, in through my skin, in through my soul. Six senses connected, six knots. I remove the power from my presence, into this rope..."
She continued to murmur in this fashion as Tl'Kao's eyes narrowed, flames burning brighter, blue instead of red, hotter. "I have had many more years to live than you have, arrogant young Angel. You acted too soon- you shall not come away from this well." Then, just as he took one step forward, bringing a flaming hand back and preparing to through a punch, the hemp rope soared through the air-
"GODDESS PROTECT US, SUBDUE THIS BEING!"
-and landed neatly over his head. But it did not stop when it hit his shoulders- the weight seemed to be too much, and Tl'Kao, unbalanced, was dragged down to the floor. "YOU TRAITOROUS WENCH!" he roared. "HOW DARE YOU USE THE TRICKS OF ANGELS AGAINST YOUR OWN?" Kalie twisted out of Ci`aran's arms- the middle child seemed highly amused by it all, and didn't stop her, instead leaning back against a table and snickering quietly- and knelt by him, glancing up at Alan, blushing brightly in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry," she muttered as Tl'Kao ranted angrily at her. "I didn't want anybody to get hurt- the both of you are too stubborn for your own good," she added in a less apologetic voice.
[It's okay. XD Tl'Kao's an equal idiot. And Ci`aran... well, he was all for the fighting when it was Tl'Kao doing it, but he's really more of a political scholar, and he figures that if Kalie's determined enough to take something Angels use against Demons and twist it to her own will, then he's not going to be able to stop her. <3]
Leona of the Zodiac 03-14-2008 10:49 PM
Alan noted the flames changed colors, and the shimmering light of holy magic followed in turn from himself as he glared down at Tl'Kao. He was about to bring a shield up, just as a rope seemed to come out of nowhere and lasso the demon. He knew that spell... only, in a different form really. But Celepas wouldn't cast it, so who did. He got his answer a moment later, from Kalie.
He folded his arms again, glancing towards Tl'Kao. "He started it!" Alan replied, scoffing. "I justw anted to find out what happened but-"
A very relieved Celepas came up then. "You could have just walked away if it wasn't a fight you wanted," she said sensibly. "Or.. did you?" she asked, a brow raised. Alan glanced around the group and sighed.
"No, no, he just ruffled my feathers the wrong way," he groaned.
"He challenged you and you could not resist... right?" Celepas asked, to which Alan gave a facepalm.
"Pretty much," he admitted, blushing a slight now. "So much for introductions huh sis?" Celepas sighed, looking amongst the group.
"We can't leave him like that... but the moment we free him he's going to go for it again isn't he?" Celepas asked. She was pretty sure Tl'Kao was swearing up a storm, although of course she did not know a word said.
((*Giggles* Makes sense to me :3 Haha, smart demon that one. Ha, Kalie certainly knows how to handle her brothers though doesnt she? :P And teehee, seeing a hot boy tied though, I know there are some sooning fangirls in the area :P))
ToastedWhiskers 03-14-2008 11:02 PM
Kalie groaned. "Started it? Who cares who started it! Neither of you were man enough to back down!" Throwing up her hands in disgust, literally, she stood, stalked over to Ci`aran and jabbed him in the chest with one finger. "And you! Just see if I don't feed you to Klii when we get home!"
Tl'Kao, on the floor, fell silent, then shook his head as best he could, sighing. His voice was calm when he next spoke. "No, I will not. If she is hurt again, however, I do not care who has done it, I will return for your brother." Kalie turned, slowly, and shook her head, sighing.
"He won't go for it again-"
"Unless Kalie is hurt by anyone in any way," Ci`aran finished, having no qualms about repeating the threat. Kalie glowered and huffed, irritated.
"BOYS! You're impossible to deal with, all three of you!" Turning to Tl'Kao, she none-too-gently yanked the hemp rope from around his shoulders, carefully unraveling the knot holding it in a circle and breaking the magic. "Damnit, I want you both to go home, now."
"But-"
"You believe I would-"
"NOW!" she roared, causing quite a few surface-dwellers to scatter, some with small shrieks as her eyes and arms lit with blue-white fire. "I will not repeat myself." Both brothers stared at her for a few long moments, and then they both nodded slowly, backing away to melt into the crowd. She knew they wouldn't go home, but having them out of sight was enough... for now. Gritting her teeth and willing the flames down, she rubber her arms a few times, tense.
"My apologies," she said quietly. "There is no other way to deal with them."
[I'm sorry to remove them so soon, but it was either that or Kalie would have throttled all three boys. =X She has kind of a short temper. ^^;; And yosh, Ci`aran is veeery smart. Ooh, I so should have thought of that. XDDDDD Tl'Kao's probably gonna be bogged down by a bunch of high school girls. ^_^]
