Fairly Odd Parents

(hopes there isn't already a topic about this cartoon)

So I love this cartoon. I love the references it makes, and I love how funny it is. No matter how bad a day I've been having, this cartoon always makes me laugh.

To quote Wikipedia, for those who aren't familiar with teh cartoon:

Quote:

A ten-year-old boy named Timmy Turner was granted fairy godparents after his evil baby sitter made him miserable. His teacher, Mr. Crocker, in contrast with other adults in the series, believes firmly in fairy godparents and has been searching for them for a very long time. Mr. Crocker is dangerous to Timmy because according to Da rules(a large rulebook that contains rules of what children can and cannot wish for), if anybody sees a child's fairy godparents, or if the child reveals that he has fairies, they will have to go away forever.
Most recently, I saw the newest movie made featuring these funny characters, called Fairly OddBaby. I won't post spoilers because I don't want to spoil it for those who like the show, but this one just made me giggle so much.

It had so many body-function jokes, from burping to farting to even poo-jokes. And who, no matter what age, doesn't like a good fart-joke? ^__^

Anyways, I just wanted to say, if you want a good laugh, watch the show on Nickelodeon sometime. It's very giggle-worthy. :)

And for the older folks, the shows make obscure references to things from the 80s/90s, and that's always fun to see. :)

My friggin' GOD I love that show!!! It produces some of the most ridiculous/hysterical jokes in all of the world! I mean, the references to the Society for Healthy Colons! Dude! Is there really one?! I wanna join! And it has made rice and corn a national icon!

Its the perfect sidedish! XD

It brings up the esteem of all buck-tooth, pink hat wearing ten year old boys across the world :D

Framboise 02-26-2008 05:38 AM

Man, when this show comes on T.V., I don't have it in me to turn the channel xD
The humor is so random.. and a lot of things in it don't make any sense at all.. <3

I love this show. :). It's also one of the few GOOD Nicktoons that the regular Nick has left, aside from SpongeBob, which is usually only OK. I got mad at Nick for a while when I heard that they originally had planned on canceling this show- probably in favor of Barnyard, or Tak. They may be OK, I really don't know, but it was just showing that computer animation was taking over the whole cartoon industry, and not just the movie industry anymore. :(. I was really happy when I sw the preview for Fairly Odd Baby- it meant that 2D animation was still popular enough, and that one of my favorite cartoons was back. :). Anyway.. I can't wait to see what happens in the upcoming season. :). The new baby opens up a ton of new plots. :)

I TOTALLY LOVE Fairly Odd Parents!

My favorite is of course, COSMO! xDDD

I got lucky and manage to watch almost all of the episodes, including the pilot. They voice in carton Carton was weiiird!

It's too bad the show ended after season 6( or was it 9?)....but that last season was really terrible...The jokes and plots were over-used and boring, they even reusing old characters and breaking the boundaries whioch shaped the main story. It's like by the end of the last season, they don't think it's really necessary to keep Cosmo & Wanda, and the entire Fairy world, into secrecy anymore....x_____x

But still, no matter hwta, I LOVE this show so much, I don't mind rewatching the rerun shows again and again, yes, even the last season's rerun...xPP

i've seen the movie that they did fairly oddbaby. XD that was funny... who knew that males could give birth instead of the females in the fairy world. (now THAT'S comedy.)

but yeah i hope that they start making new episodes since they've introduced a new character. >_< they better... i'm sort of tired of seeing the same old thing... over and over. XD LOL

hell some of the episodes i remember from my 8th grade year in middle school... wtf?! LOL

OH MY GOD! I LOVE that show. Fairly OddBaby was the best. My friend and I are both juniors in High School and we've been watching it since elementary school. I think it's one of the best shows on Nick.

Cosmo is the best character ever! I quote him ALL the time. I totally want a doll of him.

I love the show. I always thought it was really funny and cute. I like Butch Hartman cartoons in general, although they do tend to get repetitive at times. I didn't get to see the new movie yet, but I really want to. It looks interesting.

dichromaticbeagle 02-27-2008 01:15 PM

KUDOS to Butch Hartman!! X3

Heheh... I think I've seen every episode of this show at least three times each. But I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. It's already in my own little cartoon hall of fame alongside The Angry Beavers, Dave the Barbarian, and Rocko's Modern Life.

KatMagenta 02-27-2008 06:35 PM

Heh, I was at my friends house when his little sister got in from school and she wanted to watch it. It was funny, and there were some jokes and references that me and my friend got a laugh at that his little sister didn't get. It's little things like that which make a cartoon great, if people of all ages can enjoy it.

I don't follow the show, but I've seen a couple of episodes since and I've enjoyed them. The animation is really simple and cute. The voices can get a little annoying though, everyone is so high pitched! I suppose if you watch them all, you just get used to it.

torhu_anime 02-29-2008 03:41 AM

i like this cartoon, like spongebod. i luv these kind of show but i havent seem it a lot lately.
i was too busy because of school work and i usually, spent my time on the computer more then on the television. actually, the minimum amount of house i spent on the television is about 1 hours a week and the maximum is around 6 hours, more or less. i dont know and all the other time is on the computer or at school.
PS: my school have this event call "donkey basketball". i cant wait to go watch it. ^-^ all the player going to drive a donkey, that going to be funny.

Nightshade1988 02-29-2008 01:36 PM

I never really got into it.

[toxic_gummybear] 03-01-2008 12:00 AM

That shows amazing.
I watched one of the movies the other day actually, it was pretty funny.

oHsoDemandinG 03-04-2008 01:50 AM

I used to watch it all the time. Now I just don't have time. But Cosmo was my favorite. I love the episode with him and his ant Carl. I also love Jorgen van Strangle (sp?)

Kim 03-04-2008 02:42 AM

:'D Oh man that shows so funny. :'D I hate most of the newer kids cartoons because they're just crude, but I always loved that show! :3 It's come so far from it's pilot episode!! xD; For the most part I like all the characters, but I always thought it was kind weird how in the Jimmy/Timmy movie Timmy was made out to be way more of a jerk...

xlr8r 03-04-2008 04:02 PM

The perfect cartoon id say :P

MacSen191 03-04-2008 05:20 PM

I just recently started watching this cartoon... I had Nick on for my son and was playing with him when this came on. Needless to say, I liked it and watch it with him whenever we catch it on tv.

jelachu 03-05-2008 05:17 AM

AH! I loooove The Fairly Odd Parents!!! It's such a cute and funny show <3 It has to be like my favorite cartoon on Nick right now. :]

NoirRaven 03-05-2008 10:21 AM

I hate this cartoon mainly because it's repetitive and it crams the morals down your throat with a shovel.

Heiroglyphica 03-05-2008 03:09 PM

I watched that show like... twice, and thought it was crap. It had a few redeming and interesting points, but the animation and general plot were -not- good.

ReiyukaE 03-06-2008 07:09 PM

"Where did you find that tank?"
"Um... Internet?"

I completely agree with you - this show is so hilarious in so many ways. It always makes me giggle. XD

@Heiroglyphica; it's not about plot. 'tis just plain funny. X"D

@Kim; yeah, I thought that was pretty weird, too, in the Jimmy/Timmy movie. I always thought Jimmy was way more of an egghead than Timmy. Guess the makers of the shows disagree.

white12lily 03-06-2008 10:20 PM

to me this show is very, very silly but entertaining. if i feel like i need a good laugh, i might check to see if it is on.
