Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure

Since I mentioned this as my favorite game ever..

I wanted to see how many people on Mene actually knew what I was talking about. xD;
How many of you have heard of Rhapsody: A musical Adventure?

Heres a summary:

Quote:

The game centers on the adventures of Cornet, a girl who can talk to puppets and has a magical horn that grants wishes, and Kururu, a puppet that has the soul and heart of a person that was Cornet's best friend. The majority of the game is about Cornet and Kururu trying to save Prince Ferdinand Marl E. (whom Cornet has a crush on) after he has been turned to stone by the self-proclaimed "most beautiful witch in the world." The witch, Queen Marjoly, also has a crush on the prince and had meant to transport him to her castle, but messed up the spell and accidentally turned him to stone.
Taken from the wonderful Wikipedia. <3

And now, some screen shots, huzzuh!

Haha I have this game, somewhere. I think I have played through it a good 10-15 times. XD
It never gets old. lol
And the music is great. Haha well... most of it. ^^;

My favorite puppet is Ledgem. XD (or however that's spelled)
I think I may have loaned it to my friend because I was looking for it the other day and couldn't find it. <.<

I hope the sequel gets translated and sent to America eventually. XD

This was one of the games I used to play that I really, really liked...

Though at first I totally underestimated it since I found it too kiddy but once I played it. I got terribly hooked and I enjoyed the spats between Etoile and Cornet!

Marjoly was just so... And her three hench women.

The one who swam all the way from the pier to the ship = HARDCORE.

My only problem was... That dinosaur puppet. Kept dying.

I loved the sister puppets there. Seriously. I forgot their names. It's been eight years already. I even drew them once in a while.

Wait. There's a sequel?

[.Miss Bat.] 02-29-2008 11:24 PM

Actually, theres 5 Games. xD
The second one continues with Cornet's, and Ferdinand's
daughter Kururu.

The sisters names were Terra, and Sharte.
Those two, and Ledgem are my favorites, too! Mwahaha.
I've played the game more than 15 times.

Personally, my favorite character was Crowdia.
One of Marjoly's hench women. xD

I highly doubt the sequels will ever
get translated, and shipped over here.
Thats why I bought the whole series in Japanese. xD;

LOL Well, getting the whole series in Japanese would do me no good, I can't read Japanese. XD;

[.Miss Bat.] 03-01-2008 05:44 AM

Aha!
But it would do you alot of good!
They have translations on GameFaqs.
Step by step instructions on how to get through the game.
Mwahaha.

All I need is a magic swap disc thing.
And I can play them.

I love this game. :D. I also loved the soundtrack that came with it. ^_^. I always thought it was a shame that the game was so short- it was a very good game, and the characters were so amusing. But I suppose they couldn't let Prince Ferdinand star a statue forever, though. ^^;. It's a shame that it didn't do well in the US- I'd love to play the sequels. :). If I remember right, I ended up using Ledgem a lot in battle, this dinosaur egg thing, and one of the sisters. I THINK, anyway. I remember using them on and off. ^^;.

[.Miss Bat.] 03-01-2008 11:12 PM

I think I'll list all the puppets in the first post, XD Since no one can seem to remember them.

The egg dinosaur thing, his name is Flare. Haha.

I managed to find it and started playing it, but my PS2 stopped playing PS1 games shortly after I bough it and I need to find back the CD spindle I stored it on (as I got it used in a cardboard sleeve) before I can restart it. I do like what I played, tho. it's a fun game and I like SRPGs almost as much as normal RPGs.

Which console were the other sequels playable in?

Were they also made by Atlus? O_O
