Who owns the moon?
If a country was to own the moon, which one do you think it would be? I would think America since they were there first.

the americans took all the land from the idians and plopped them with cruddy land and no respect for their culture D: so I say, we give THEM the moon, because then they would have their own mini-PLANET. and who wouldnt want that? :D |
Yes, but if they did they would be away from their "spirtual ancestors", plus how would they get oxygen? Wouldn't thay have to create a small dome, suck all gases from it, and fill it with oxygen, and then try to cover the area with fertile soil so they can then be able to plant trees to continue ability for oxygen to produce?
That seems way to expensive for a culture that doesn't look like a group of people who have money, unless they are a casino owning tribe =D |
*shrug* didnt say they have to live on it just yet, we can just reserve it till tech gets better and they can have it.
Or they can just OWN it, and not have to live on it. but just HAVE it, like...NO ONE can touch the moon without their permission. |

I don't think anyone could ever own it. It was there before humans and established countries after all :3

Probably America, as the world's biggest superpower. On top of which, the first people to land on the moon were sent by the U.S., and that's the way land used to be claimed. But, if it were ever populated somehow, I think it would probably become an independent nation before long. o_o

Although I think America should get it since then it would belong to technically everyone since we have a lot of different ethnic backgrounds living here. |

You only own a piece of land if you have a military presence there capable of defending it. But then I suppose if the Russians or some other rival started setting up permanent colonies of the moon we could just launch nukes at it a la Austin Powers 2.

It's the satellite that we all depend on for the Earth's tilted axle which in turn affords us our liveable climate and our seasons. What are we going to do, claim the moon and charge other people money for their right to live??
