Mythy's Short Stories

Okay, I have a little journal that I like to carry around with me, and when I can, I write in it.
I take it with me wherever I go: School, friends houses, in the car, to the store, etc. It never leaves me. :)
Even though I don't have a lot written in it now (most of it's random doodles and stuff) I do have a few excerpts from stories that I'm writing/planning to write or just things the come to my mind.
I decided to make a thread where I will be posting all of these short stories (they may vary in size) and such.

I hope you all enjoy reading them! Feel free to critique or give me tips. (I know I need them)

Please don't come in here and say "You're stories are crap!!!". That get's me very irritated and makes me very sad. If you don't like it, merely say "I don't like the story because---" and so on. Thank you~!

All normal rules apply to this thread!

Vampires | Werewolves (Monique and Elaina)

Vampires:
-Can bleed like normal humans
-Are quick to heal
-They use saliva to turn humans into vampires
-Most vampires have developed a fear of going into the sun, or have merely become nocturnal
-They cannot transform in anyway
-Werewolf blood or loss of a [a lot of] blood
-can kill them.
-They can feed on animals OR humans
-They are fast, strong, and have heightened senses
-Can live forever unless killed
-Tend to smell like perfume or Cologne, even with out using it

Werewolves:
-Quick to heal
-Change whenever they need to or when angry
-Feed on anything, but mostly meat
-Can only be killed by Vampire or loss of blood
-Use saliva to change humans
-Change into large wolves (3x normal size)
-Can live forever unless killed
-Fast, strong, heightened senses
-Tend to smell slightly foresty (Like pine, trees, etc.)

If werewolf and vampire blood are mixed, the combined substances will burn, thus burning the organs, veins, akin, and thus killing the host.

A single drop of blood fell from the eyedropper. It plopped into the red liquid below. For a split second, the scientist observing felt a thrill of excitement, but before he could even the the word of triumph from his lips, the liquid started to bubble and fizz, until there was nothing left but a black and red residue.
"Honestly..." The old man croaked as he leaned back in his chair. "I've worked here for over thirty years and still nothing..." He placed the small eyedropper back in the rack and sighed. "Still nothing..." He repeated.
He pulled out a small notebook and a pen; Flipping it open to a blank page, he scribbled down: W317 ineffective with V239. He laid it down on the desk and stared gloomily at the ruined basin in front of him.
With an effort, he pulled himself out of his chair and took off his safety goggles. He moved over to a small bookshelf on the other side of the room and placed them gently on the cold metal. He shrugged out of his lab coat and tossed it on the coat rack. I grabbed his old brown coat and pulled it on, snatching his bowler cap just before he walked to the silver door and pressed a small green button.
There was a soft [i]click[i], and then the door slid open, smoothly.
"Oh!" The man said in surprise as he looked down at the young girl standing in front of him. "Elaina! My, how are you child?" He asked. His voice was thickly laced with an English accent.
Elaina smiled up at the old scientist. "Doctor Richard!" She said. She spoke somewhat slowly, trying to pronounce her words correctly. "It eez a pleasure to see you again!" She brushed back her long blonde hair. "How eez seh research going?"
"Not to good I'm afraid." Richard said as he stepped out of the lab, just before the door closed. He glanced down at the small French girl and a wry smile pulled at his lips. "Do you happen to have anymore of those caramel candies Monique gave you...?" He asked somewhat hesitantly. He nudged Elaina just a bit.
"Doctor, if you eat anymore, zen I will 'ave none for my friends!" Elaina scolded the old man, and then sighed. "Alright zen. Here. But don't ask for any more."
She shoved her hand into the brown bag slung over her shoulders and pulled out two pieces of candy, wrapped delicately in a shiny golden paper. Richard took one piece and began to unwrap it.
"Well you can't deny an old man his sweet tooth." He joked with a short laugh.
Richard was about the pop the small piece of candy into his mouth when Elaina jumped in front of him. The candy slid from his fingers and went flying. Just inches before it hit the floor, however, Elaina's hand jerked out and she caught it.
"My you're getting fast..." Richard said as he reached out for the caramel.
Elaina ignored him, but put the candy in his hand. "How do you zing Mona eez doing...?" She asked as Richard popped the candy into his mouth.
"I'm sure she's fine. Just a few vampires after all." The old man smiled. "The day she fails to complete a mission will be the day that I loose weight and grow hair on the top of my head." He put on the best smile he could as he lifted his bowler cap, exposing nothing but skin on the top of his head. A ring of gray hair ran around the side of his head however, and a slightly unshaven beard on his chin.
Elaina sighed and started walking back down the hall. "She worries me..." She whispered quietly.
Richard put a hand on her shoulder and squeezed ever so slightly. "She can't get killed by her own kind, Elaina."
"Not unless she's ripped to-"
"Now, now! There will be no talk of that!" Richard frowned as Elaina looked up at him, wide-eyed.
"But, it is a possibility." Elaina stated.
"But i don't think that'll happen. Monique is tougher than you think."
"Zat may be so...but..." Elaina sighed. "We are partners in zis organization, but we never work togezer." She glanced back at the scientist. "We 'ave a meeting to attend." She said, changing the subject completely.
Richard stared down at the girl. "That's right. Mr. Cutcher sent me a notice on Friday. What time is it?"
Elaina paused to look at her watch. "It eez two twenty-five." She said.
Richard's eyes bulged. "Well then, we better get going. We only have five minutes and the meeting is on the other side of the building!"
With out another word, the old scientist and the young girl took off down the hall.

Going Under

(Previously Posted in this thread)
--------------------------
The cool wind that swept across the bay was comforting, in a way. To me, it felt like it was chiseling at the hard, stone mask on my face, but only little pieces. It was hardly enough to break through the full body shell in which I had encased myself.
The waves crashed against the shore, sending little beads of water flying into the air like a cloudless rain. Hesitantly, I took a step forward and gasped as the cold water engulfed my foot. What surprised me was how good it felt. I took another step forward, and this time I sighed.
Ever since D has passed away, I had grown solitary. I'd keep to myself all the time and I almost never talked. The bay was the only place I felt comfortable with myself. It was Danny's favorite spot, and thus it became mine.
Danny... Once I thought the name, I regretted it. It brought back too many memories of him. Happy memories. Always happy. And suddenly it'd be a picture of him lying lifeless in a casket---cold...Pale...lifeless.
Unthinkingly, I started to walk forward---deeper and deeper into the water until it was above my waist. The picture of D was burned in the backs of my eyes now, and it wouldn't go away.
Gritting my teeth, I took a few more steps forward. The water was at my shoulders now, and I could barely feel my legs. And yet...and yet it still felt nice. I liked the numbing feeling.
I started to turn as the waves were beginning to drag me out farther into the lake...never to return.
When suddenly, something hit me. It smacked me in the chest and instinctively, I reached out to grab whatever it was. I felt soggy, wet wood beneath my fingers as it drew away with the waves and then smashed into me again, only this time, I went under.
The water seemed to swallow me as fast as it could, and soon as I was twisting through the water, trying to find the surface. The current was too strong, and after a few seconds of struggle,
I just let the current have me.
The pressure in my ears began to increase as I drifted farther and farther down into the water. Had it really pulled me out this far…? I could hear the water rushing by and feel the waves tugging at my limbs, as if it couldn’t decide which direction it wanted to take me. I continued to sink.
I found that, eventually, after the numbness had completely set in, that I didn’t want to fight back. My eyes, which were barely open, closed as I tried to think. The irritating thing was that I couldn’t think clearly. At first, my thoughts had been crystal clear, but now they were as murky as the water I was in. I couldn’t think of anything except whether to fight back or not. Already, I had decided not to, but there was still that small voice in the back of my head telling me to start swimming again.
I didn’t know how long I had been under the water. The burning in my lungs was something I could barely feel, along with every other part of my body. The cold water had managed to drain away every ounce of strength in me.
I heard a small murmur. I knew it wasn’t a fish, or even the waves. But it sounded more like a voice. A burst of bubbles suddenly blew in my face, and something hard wrapped around me.
My eyes drifted open just a fraction, trying to see who it was, but I couldn’t see anything. It was too dark. I became aware that the bubbles that had blown into my face were my own. I had been holding my breath for too long and unwillingly exhaled. I tried to breathe in, but all I got was a mouth full of salt water.
What am I even doing here…? I thought. Danny wouldn’t want this…Danny would…Danny would…. My thoughts suddenly hit a dead end. What would Danny do?
The thing that had wrapped around me began to drag my upward, to the surface I presumed. The pain in my ears was starting to ease up.
Danny would fight… I thought. Surely that’s what he would do in a situation like this: Fight in order to live.
Instantly, the picture of him lying cold and pale in the casket flashed across my mind and I cringed. He fought, but he didn’t win the battle…What if I didn’t?
I tried to breathe again, and again, I got a mouth full of water; horrible salt water that made my eyes sting.
Finally, whatever it was that was pulling me, and myself, burst through the surface of the water. And finally, everything slipped away into nothingness. I couldn’t hear, see, feel, smell, or even move.
I’m sorry D… I thought, before I finally slipped into complete unconsciousness.

“ARGH!” I yelled and groaned as I stared at the empty page in front of me. “I can’t believe it! I can’t think of anything!” I slumped in my chair and started tapping my pencil on the desk.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll come up with something soon.”
I glanced behind me to see Jax leaning against the wall. Halyn was standing not far from her munching on a bagel. Rolling my eyes, I turned back to the blank paper. “I hope your right. I’ve been meaning to start on your stories for a while now.”
“Month’s actually.” Jake said, leaning over my shoulder and frowning. I glowered at him. “Well…maybe even longer than that.
I twisted around in my chair. “Keep in mind that I created you and I can do whatever the heck I want with you guys.” Jake pulled back and walked over to my bed. “Where is everyone anyways? It’s just you three today?”
Halyn started nodding and swallowed loudly. “Yeah.” I couldn’t help but smile to myself. Giving her an English accent was a good idea. “Since your having an off day it’s just us. I’m surprised Kira’s not here.” She looked over at Jax. “You haven’t seen her have you?” Jax shook her head and when Halyn turned towards Jake, he gave the same response. “Who else are we missing?” She asked.
“Let’s see…Jax, Jake, Halyn…” I held up three fingers. “Austin, Kira, Abbie, David, Brody…Uhm…” I frowned.
“It’s kind of sad when you forget your own characters.” Jax said, giving me a crooked grin.
“Shut up…” I growled as I pushed myself out of the chair and walked over to my bookcase. “I have them all written down somewhere…” I traced a line over the spines of several books and files before finally I pulled one out. “I think that might be it.” I frowned. “Oh wait. There’s also Marcus. And Monique and Elaina…”
“Has there ever been a day when we were all here?” Jake asked as he collapsed on my bed. We all looked up to stare at him. “What? I’m just asking. Your rooms not very big.”
“Which is why I try to avoid that happening.” I said as I shoved the file back on the shelf. I sighed heavily and sank to the floor. “I can’t believe I still can’t come up with anything. It’s been what? Three days now…?”
“Sarah, babe. Calm down. You’ve had off days like this before.” Jax said as she took a seat in my chair. She brushed back her brown hair and adjusted her paper boy hat. I kept my gaze on the floor as everyone stared at me. “Sarah…?”
“I may have had off days, but not consistently…” I murmured. “Who knows how long this could go on? What if you three disappear and never come back…?”
The room fell silent as Halyn, Jake, and Jax stared at me. “I’m sure that won’t happen. You’re too broad minded for that.” Halyn said as she finished off her bagel and reached for another. Jake had beat her to it though, throwing himself off the bed and snatching it in the nick of time. “Bugger…” She murmured as He beamed at her and took a bite. Halyn looked down at the empty bagel bag and sighed heavily. “’course, I wouldn’t mind of he disappeared…” She hissed.
Jack started laughing. “Are you kidding!? No way am I disappearing again! It’s all weird….” He shuddered slightly. “I mean…you’re just…there but you’re not doing anything. It’s boring beyond belief….not to mention mind blowing, and not in the good sense.” He frowned
Jax ignored the two and looked back over at me. “I’ll be fine. Eventually you’ll get back up to your normal self and we’ll all come back. Good as new.” She grinned and turned her hat so that it was lop sided. “Besides, being nowhere is actually kind of fun. Even if I’m not doing anything I can still think.”
“Serenity and Valerie…” I murmured.
“What’s that?”
“Oh, nothing. I just remembered two more people.” I said. “Serenity and Valerie. The original characters for the gifted story.” I pointed over to Halyn but she was busy wrestling Jake for the last bagel
.
“Give it to me, Jake!” She growled through her teeth as Jake held her back with a single hand. “I’ll burn you! I mean it! Give me the freaking bagel!”
“Even if you do decide to turn me into French toast, it won’t do anything.” He took another bite out of the bagel Halyn started screaming at him. Shouting words I didn’t realize she was capable of saying. “Woo! Touchy!” Jake jeered.
I turned back to face Jax. “I still haven’t figured out a story for you. Maybe if I come up with one it’ll help.” I said. With an effort, I managed to stand up and walk over to the desk. I scribbled down Cable “Jax” Lexington= and then waited for her to say something. “I was going to use you in a fan fiction but I decided not to write it. So we need a story.” I looked
over at her to see her staring at the ceiling.
“Hmm…” She closed her eyes and fell silent.
“Oh, c’mon. Don’t fall asleep…” I growled.
“She’s not sleeping…” Halyn said. Jake dropped his hand and she snatched the bagel from him. “She’s thinking. Remember? You made it to where she pretty much shuts down when she thinks.”
I sighed heavily. "Right..."

Twinblade Alchemist (written 3 years ago/revised)

Fanfiction for Fullmetal Alchemist. Changed and modefied so this is actually pretty old. The plot line of the actual fan fiction has changed dramatically, so this isn't really a scene from the current F. Fiction.
------------------------

The office was quiet. There was nothing but the ticking of a clock and the scribbling of a pencil against paper.
A man in his late twenties sat at a desk. His liquor black eyes were glued to the papers in front of him as he scrawled endlessly away. Several moments passed before he finally stopped. He leaned back into his chair and sighed; running his fingers through his messy black hair.
A woman just about the same age, save a few years, stood off to the side, watching him with dark mahogany eyes. Her blond hair was pinned back and her bangs brushed neatly to the side.
The man felt his eyes start to droop as he stared at the ceiling. The silence that had lasted for far too long was finally broken but the woman.
"Sir, do you really think this is a good idea?" She asked.
The man stayed quiet for a while. He reached for a document on his desk. As he read through the file, a feeling of uncertainty seemed to set upon him.
"I'm not positive." He said as he tossed the documents back on his desk. Several of the papers slid out, drawing threateningly close to the edge of the desk. "It's not so much her age that bothers me...But the fact that Bradley accepted her into the military so quickly." He rested his elbow on the arm of his chair and propped his head on his fist.
"Sir?" The woman raised her eyebrows as she looked at him.
The man sighed. "It's like she came out of nowhere!" He said, suddenly sounding annoyed.
"King Bradley seemed exceptionally pleased about her." The woman leaned forward slightly so she could look at the stray papers on the mans desk.
"Isn't he always?" The man muttered, and then yawned.
The two fell silent for a while. Again, only the steady ticking of the clock was heard.
As time passed, the man found himself falling deeper and deeper into thought. No matter what, ho ever, he always seemed to be thinking about the same thing. The young girl and Bradly. What was so important about her that would make Bradly take her in like that?
The clock suddenly started chiming, dragging the man and his thoughts back to reality.
"Seven o'clock..." He whispered. "I guess we can go home now..."
The man stood up to get his jacket when someone knocked on the door.
Confused with who might be coming to visit him at this hour, he walked across the office and opened the door.
Standing before him was a man in his sixties. Tall and muscular with two swords by his side, he stood, looking proud and elegant. The man suddenly straightened up and hastily lifted a hand to his forehead; Saluting.
"Fuhrer King Bradly." The man said, his eyes widening infinitesimally. The woman behind him straightened slightly as well and saluted.
"Colonel Roy Mustang. Second Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye." Bradly addressed the two with a curt nod. Roy and Riza both let their hands fall to their sides when Bradly lifted his into the air.
"Is there anything I can do for you, Sir?" Roy asked.
Bradly chuckled softly. "I'm only here to introduce you to young Kira here. You read the file I sent you, correct?" He motioned towards a young girl standing next to him that Roy hadn't seen.
Kira looked up at him and suddenly flushed red in the face. She ducked down in a bow. "Kira Johnson, Sir." She said, rather hesitantly. "It's a Pleasure to meet you." She straightened up and looked at Riza.
The womans' uncertain eyes made Kira feel slightly uneasy, and she began to fidget with the end of her sweater. Kira looked back down at the floor.
Bradly chuckled again and place a large hand on Kira's small shoulder.
"Is there anything else you needed to tell me, Sir?" Roy asked, a small smile playing at his lips as he stared at the girl.
Bradly smiled. "Actually, there is." He looked down at Kira as she hastily brushed back her white bangs and turned even redder in the face. "Kira was wanting to tell you something."
Kira glanced up at the old man and bit her lower lip. "Uhm...I know you probably don't trust me, what with me being so young and all..." She paused, trying to find the right words. "But I...I promise that if I make any mistakes, I'll do my best to fix them." She glanced up at Bradly and he nodded.
Roy gave the girl an amused look. "All right." He said. "I'll hold you to your word." He smiled.
"Good." Bradly said. "I'll be seeing you later, Colonel. Take car, Hawkeye." Bradly turned and motioned for Kira to fallow him.
When the two were gone, Roy sighed. "She reminds me of a lost puppy..." He murmured.
"Sir?"
Roy glanced behind him to see Riza giving him a questionable look. "Oh, nothing." He chuckled as he grabbed his coat and walked out of the room.
