Traveling the world!

Summer is almost here and everyone is making travel plans for their vacations.

So, I was wondering. If you could go anywhere in the world, Where would you go?

I have a couple of places. Hawaii, Tahiti, England, and Australia. I have already been to The Bahamas.

Feel free to discuss where you would like to go and if there is any reason why. Also places you have been and would recommend to others.

Italy..i dont rememeber why but there is definately something there you should see 8)

ReiyukaE 03-08-2008 05:08 PM

Hmm, that's a tough one because there are a lot of places I'd really love to go. Those I will probably never get to see, but still am dying to go to are: Iceland, Tibet, New Zealand, Hawaii.

Those are four places I'd love to visit at least once in my lifetime, but which are pretty farfetched in that there are other places that are more pressing, and there's already a question on me ever going to those. XD Ah well. It doesn't hurt to dream. ^-^

I'm (hopefully) going to Germany in two years. It's for high school, so I have to go with all the other kids that decide the to go as well. XP
From what I know, we'll be going to a few countries that border Germany and even get to go to a German school for a week. :3 It sounds like a lot of fun, I just have to learn German first. XD Hence me taking German 1 all four years of High School.

Other than Germany, I'd like to take a few trips to Italy and maybe even Greece.

Scotland would be a nice place to visit as well.

As for places I've been? Well, the Bahamas is probably the only place I've been to, other than the states.

I just would like to go somewhere, I really don't care where. I have friend whose going this summer to the United Arab Emirates with her room-mate.

joih 03-08-2008 05:58 PM

I'm sure I'll travel if I have the money. But unfortnately, I don't X) I'll be hitting the beaches in the summer though.

Zen And Tonic 03-08-2008 06:07 PM

New Zealand, probably. I've heard that it's beautiful.

Seriously I don't really know it.
But I think .. France?
Italy might be too.
But yeah I'm not sure. ><

soup 03-08-2008 06:40 PM

Even though I live fairly close to the border, I've never been to canada. There are some really pretty places up there I want to see. And I'd like to go to china & new zealand basically for the same reason: prettiness.

Angelic Loves 03-08-2008 06:41 PM

Personally, I think Italy would be a spectacular place to go, and Scotland and Ireland. (Because those accents are wonderful)

I've got to go to Latvia at some point to return ashes of people to their native land.

As for places I've been, never out of the United States. I have been all over the east coast.

@Mythy:

You are going to the Bahamas again with me and our Muttis when we're 15 and 16. On the German trip Frau Hill takes us to little places in Germany, and then a short border hop somewhere.

NuRii 03-08-2008 06:49 PM

My friend decides to travel all over Europe
But I think I will just travel to japan
I always wanted to go there :o

Professor Lily 03-08-2008 07:24 PM

Thank you Angelic Loves for reminding me of Scotland and Ireland. I love to go see the castles.

Din 03-08-2008 08:04 PM

I'd love to travel.

Like to Europe, or Japan. =]

PancakeKakashi 03-09-2008 02:08 AM

I would love to go to Japan, Ireland, Britain, Chicago (to visit an online friend that I've known for 5 years and yet I've never been able to meet because of distance), Hawaii again (I went there for Spring Break with my choir last year and I loved it), Florida, New Zealand, Australia, and Scotland. ^^

Amiiu 03-09-2008 02:39 AM

I definetly want to go somewhere in Europe, I've never been anywhere in that continent. England, France, Sweden, anywhere will be fine, as long as it's Europe! :3

Another place is Japan. In some ways, I have been to Japan, but I don't think it counts since it was only the airport on the way to China. A third place is Taiwan, and a fourth is Korea, South Korea. Those two probably because I've watched so many dramas that take place in Taiwan and South Korea. One last place I'd want to go to is New Zealand.

:]

Ville Lempi 03-09-2008 02:58 AM

If I ever had to go anywhere, it'd defiantly be Scotland. I've always wanted to go to Scotland and hang out in Glasgow with my friends but everyone tells me Scotland isn't the place to go. :[ It would have to be Scotland, France, or England. Japan would be a nice place to go to but things are actually pretty expensive there.D:> I'd have to muster up a lot of money if I ever wanted to vacation in Japan.

the Astral Waterlily 03-09-2008 03:58 AM

I want to see Ireland and Scotland, for the scenery. Norway for the heritage, even though I can't imagine it being very fun. I want to go on an African safari and maybe go to the beaches. Definitely Japan, because I'm a noob.

Outside the states, I've traveled to the Philippines and the Nederlands. One for my hubby's family and the other for a group meeting from my forum.

Jali 03-09-2008 04:06 AM

Russia!
My hubby is from there, but I haven't gotten the chance to got here just yet. D;
Hopefully i will get to go this summer! ^^

kuro hitomi 03-09-2008 05:02 AM

Japan! I like its music, manga, and anime.

rampartte 03-09-2008 06:19 AM

If I could have any traveling plans of my choice at all, not cost or worries about it. I would want to plan a world trip. I would buy one of those around the world tickets that allow you to fly constantly in one direction around the world and hit lots of places I would want to see.

I would go to see the East coast, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, France, Italy, Greece, Egypt, the Africa Jungle, Germany, the Ukraine, Russia, Svalbard, South Korea, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and end in Hawaii. Heh heh heh. So I have a lot of places I really want to see in the world.

I would take at least two months though the whole summer time of three would be perfect, and spend a little time just soaking up the atmosphere in each location only to jet off to the next one.

Taliah 03-14-2008 07:01 PM

I would LOVE to travel. It's a dream of mine.

My first stop would be in Europe. I'd love to visit hundreds of cities: London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Venice, Rome, Florence, and many others. I'd adore seeing Stonehenge, the Colisuem, Rosline Chapel and the Louvre, just to name a few.

After that, spend a week in Ireland, my genetic roots. That Emerald Isle is so appealing and serene looking, I would just love to see it.

On to the East, I'd love to see Egypt, on to Asia and visit Japan ^_^. Japan seems so unique and happy, and the landscape there is so varied and welcoming.

Zen And Tonic 03-14-2008 07:05 PM

I would love to go to Japan. Obviously, part of that is because I enjoy Japanese pop culture, but I really want to see the cultural landmarks of Japan as well. Hopefully, in the spring so that I can see the cherry blossoms! </cliche>

New Zealand is another place I want to go to because of its natural beauty and if possible, I want to see the giant foot-long insects known as weta. XD

Lastly, I would love to go to Paris to see the Louvre, to enjoy the masterpieces there.. and just to say that I've been to the Louvre. XD

white12lily 03-14-2008 07:48 PM

@ Tiger Lily:
you've been to the bahamas. cool i live there. did you visit new providence and go to Atlantis.

i would want to travel to Rome, Mexico, and Spain.

Sukki 03-14-2008 07:52 PM

I would want to go to Sweden probably...I'm part Swedish, and I've always been really interested in my heritage. =D

Other than that, I would want to go visit ancient monuments in Greece, Rome, Egypt, and Italy, see the great Gothic churches...I guess the Architectural history class I'm taking has really rubbed off on me, because I would love to see those magnificent structures in person.

DragonKitty 03-14-2008 07:57 PM

I was actually in Israel about two years back. I went over the summer, and had an amazing time. I ended up being there while the fight with Lebanon was going on, so there was a lot of tension. I was in Jerusalem, however, and so I did not experience much of the fighting firsthand. Some of the people my professor and my friend I was with were going to see, however, were in areas getting bombed, so our travels were halted quite a bit.

Personally... I'd love to visit Europe, just as a whole. There's so much history surrounding the areas.

Spain would be a MUST, though. My parents traveled there, and did work there, so I feel the need to go. That and South America.

I do want to do anthropology work, so traveling would be a must for my job x3
