Morango shook his head. "He'll be fine. He has his own relationship issues to deal with. IF we're lucky that will go really well so he'll get off our backs."
Jolan smiled as best he could at him. "I'd understand if you--" "Nonsense, don't even finish that. I promise he wouldn't be so concerned if there weren't issues going on in the family." "Issues?" "My two brothers are fighting with each other. I'll tell you more when I know details. You can find it all out in Brazil too. It's best we get there as soon as possible with that guy running around here just waiting for an opportunity to hurt you again." |
Jolan gave him a nod. "Let me go retrieve my things from my room then."
Morango seized his forearm when he got up. "I'll have my guards do it for you." "Alright." He allowed himself to be pulled upon his lap. Sighing, he nestled in his arms. |
Pessego was the first who went to get Felicity water. Had it been anyone else he would have ordered someone else to get it. "Here.."
Paraiba took the water glass to feed it to his sister. "Anythingoing else you need?" |
Once the glass was emptied and moved from her lips, Felicity responded with a short shake of her head. Her eyes were beginning to clear, but she was still heavily disoriented. Her hand felt over Paraiba's as a response that she would be fine. Perhaps that would ease his frightened eyes.
Looking over, she spotted Pessego for the first time. Blushing some, she released her brother's hand to clutch the sheets against her chest. "Pessego," she murmured, her tone apologetic. |
Paraiba caught notice of her reaction to Pessego. He watched the two very closely.
Pessego smiled at her. His hand reached out to touch over her cheek. "Are you positive you don't need anything? I'm more than happy to get it." Fernando smirked. Women were capable of changing a man. Pessego had a hard demeanor that faded away easily when Felicity gave him her attention. "Stay with me?" "Of course I will. I wont leave your side. I was worried about you." |
Felicity felt her heart pound as she looked over him, glad to know he was taking a seat beside her bed. Perhaps he did come to her rescue...she knew she could believe in him.
Realizing her attention had drifted away from him, Paraiba rose, making a meek comment about preparing some food for her, and left the bedroom. Fernando followed, one step behind. Pessego hadn't stopped looking at her and she took kept in time with his gaze. |
Pessego let his hand drift from her cheek to her hair. "I see how protective your brother is of you. "
Felicity gave a small nod. "Yes." "Since he's not here.." Pessego leaned forward and placed a light kiss to her lips. "I can't pass up the opportunity to kiss someone so gorgeous." |
Felicity returned it, making it a long and deep kiss.
Afterwards, Pessego was engrossed in feeling over her cheek and through her hair. He easily found the knot on her head where she had impacted the dresser. Her cheeks became more flushed. In a way, his actions expressed all of his feelings for her. Meanwhile, his mind was occupied with discovering what to say. If she had experienced something traumatic - as what everyone feared and saw, he wouldn't want to bring it up and frighten her. "I'm sorry I missed breakfast," she murmured, "it was terrible of me. How could he think she had toyed with him and laughed over his fretting as he hunted for her? So unlike her. He hadn't even known her long but it felt like years already. "Not at all." Who could have foreseen what had happened? Looking at her with those innocent eyes, he didn't blame the sick wolves out there for trying. Bastards. "Perhaps we should reschedule?" He nodded. His eyes caught hold of just how bare her chest was, and he instanly reprimanded them for looking there. This wasn't...the time... Fernando was humored, watching them from afar. How he would've been thrilled to inform Pessego how to seduce her further into his arms. He was so cautious and refraining from pursuing her too much. No confidence! Still, he could understand the concern over what she had been through. Fernando, however, would have been able to get her to forget it all. It would not have ended with just a kiss... Paraiba was moving about the kitchen, trying to busy himself, but in reality, was doing nothing. The Li Corp guards were hard at work to piece together what had happened and who was behind all of this. He checked his cell phone often, finding the screen empty of incoming calls. |
Colado crossed his legs as he sat in Laranja's bedroom. "My idea failed." His legs uncrossed as he fell back onto the bed to lay down.
Laranja felt through his hair slowly. "Poor cousin, what are you going to do now?" She glanced over at Crisanto's sleeping form on the sofa where he was watching cartoons. It was hard to humor Colado when she just wanted to watch Crisanto giggle and play games with him. Colado's eyes caught that she wasn't paying him any attention. He looked over at the sofa. "Hey hey, I'm the one who's distressed. Pay attention to me." Laranja appologized quickly. "So what are you going to do next?" "I have no idea. I have to get at them somehow. I have to find leverage to make them suffer. Taking the company isn't going to be enough. Fun, sure, but not enough." "You've suffered." "Indeed." Colado's lips gave a small pout. "I have." After a few more moments Colado sat up on the bed. "I'm going to have to get a spy on the inside. I'm going to work Morango." |
Paraiba still did not receive a call. This made him nervous. Double checking how many bars he had and whether his battery was charged, he frowned to find everything was in working condition. Fernando sighed and moved up behind him, wrapping his arms around his waist. A kiss on his neck.
"I think we should go and have a drink." "It's early." "You need it." "But Felicity---" "That young man courting her is watching her." Another kiss, this time on the jaw. "Fernando..." "It's obvious they really like each other. I don't see harm in letting them talk. He's rich and old fashioned. He has a reputation to keep." "But Fernando..." And Fernando touched all the right places. A moan. His hands were so convincing. "Alright, one drink. We'll need to get a room too." Paraiba moved out of his hold to give him one kiss before declaring toward the bedroom doorway that he was heading out to get a room. His sister responded with an okay. She wasn't worried. She didn't beg for him to stay. He pouted and left with the boyfriend. Pessego watched them go, convinced that was not a normal master servant relationship... *** Teresa Luisa stared at her son as he walked into the small room she resided in. Her expression was mixed with both concern and disappointment. He hadn't been in to see her, to eat with her, or to sleep in their room. Swallowing, she started, laying the foundation for a battle. She had calculated her strategy while he was absent. Now for the first strike. "Your gains lately...they're low." She was used to his high profits. It had gottent to the point that she didn't really need to work anymore. But she knew nothing besides life at the resort. If she were aware of the kinds of things he did to make that extra money, she didn't show it. He hoped she would never learn. "I...I've been doing other things, Mami." "Tares. I'm worried about you." His hand dived through his dark hair. "Is it a girl?" His reaction made her realize she had hit the mark. "Tares! You know what I have told you. Do not fall for a patron. They will hurt you." She was hurt. His father was a young businessman from Canada. She couldn't help but fall for his charms. She felt like Cinderella, to be rescued from being a simple maid in a lavish resort. And look at what happened. He left. Left her bearing his child. Alone. "Mami..." "You flirt for tips. I know you do. But do not - do not! - fall for one! They are rich girls who will use you." Much like the rich men who used him. He swallowed, staying quiet. "Do not see her again." A long pause. "Yes Mami." His heart broke. It was hurting long before Careja would depart from Mexico. |
Colado yawned he sipped a pina colada that was brought to him by a personal guard. He couldn't allow the usual resort servants to get too close to him. If they had remembered his face and Pessego questioned his whereabouts they would disclose them. No, instead he had his servants do everything for him.
His nose wrinkled the moment he tasted it. It was nowhere near as perfect as the drinks he made himself. Sadly, they were not avaliable anymore except in exclusive collector's locations. Since he had been "killed" he no longer made drinks. The coconuts were on his family's property. He couldn't make his drinks from just ANY coconuts. Colado mused a moment, wondering if his trees were still there or if Pessego and the rest of the family had them burned down. Hopefully they were there, he would love to continue his liquor making when he reinstated himself as the owner of the estate. He blinked when the same man crossed in front of Jolan and Morango's room. He looked like he was stalking the place just like he was. Colado set his drink down on the table next to him and moved away from the banister he was leaning against. He walked over to Shawn when he had wandered some from the room door. Couldn't risk Morango hearing him. Colado smirked, hopefully the young man was interested in men so this would go quick and he would get the information he needed. "How are you? Can I ask why someone as handsome as you is wandering around that door?" Shawn kept a fixed from on his face. "My boyfriend is in there." "Boyfriend? The red head guy?" "No. Not that punk. " LUCKY! Colado nearly smiled at his luck. This man was interested in Jolan, this he could certainly work with! "What a coincidence, I'm looking to make the red head suffer. Maybe we can work something out." |
Shawn thought this over. An accomplice. Taking down Morango would be so much easier if he had help. A grin stretched across his face. If something went wrong, perhaps it would be Colado who got in trouble. Oh, so perfect!
"Name it. I'm interested." |
Colado moved his arm around Shawn's shoulders and lead him towards his hotel room. "Come with me then. What's your name?"
"Shawn." He walked with him towards the room. "Well Shawn, you're going to be my new best friend. My name is Colado. The richest man in all of Brazil." "Seriously?" "Soon to be." "oh." Shawn rolled his eyes slightly. Who didn't have it in their mind to be rich? Shawn sat down when Colado directed him to. Colado took his place opposite him. "You're a very attractive man, Shawn. I don't see why Jolan would ever pick someone over you." Shawn completely agreed. His head nodded to show it. "He's stupid. He's going to be sorry." "I'm sure. I have people watching Jolan and Morango's door. When Morango leaves, you will be escorted in the room with a small squad of my own personal guards. They'll keep Morango out while you do what you will with Jolan. When you're done, you can take Jolan with you or leave him there wallowing in sorrow. Whatever you want, but just rest assured Morango will not stop you." Colado smirked again. No, it wouldn't be Morango stopping him at all. Everything he said to Shawn was the complete truth. Colado's legs crossed. The plan sounded so delicious to Shawn's ears. He would get his revenge! "We just have to wait for the right moment. In the meantime, how would you like something....fruity?" He motioned for someone to retrieve them a strawberry drink from his family's company. Morango was the one who made them. Colado felt drinks made from Morango's strawberries, made by his own hands were the perfect drink for such a situation. "Enjoy." |
Felicity felt over Pessego's hand slowly. His once distracted attention was back to her. He had forgotten about his curiosity over the relationship Paraiba and Fernando shared. Nothing else entered his thoughts but those eyes, her face...and...he fought to keep his eyes above her collarbone.
She said nothing as she leaned forward to kiss him. He looked - just a quick glance - before closing his eyes to return it, deepening it. Her mouth was hot, and he searched it more. She responded well and that was all he needed. It wasn't long before his suit, which cost him thousands and took weeks for the tailor to create by hand, was on the floor. |
Fernando glanced around the resort as he sat at a table with Paraiba sipping drinks. "I've never been to such a nice resort before when it wasn't for work."
Paraiba smiled at Fernando. He was very glad to give him all the things he hadn't had before in his life. "What kind of work?" The answer was quickly avoided by Fernando. "Your sister is beautiful. I want to meet your entire family." "You will. I'll make sure we see them all." "This is a selfish question since we're here for you, but I'd like to see Enrique too while we're in Mexico. Is that okay?" "Of course! I haven't met your brother either. I've only met your nephews." Fernando nodded his head and kissed at Paraiba. "He'll be jealous my boyfriend is so beautiful and he's stuck with some ugly woman." A smirk crossed Fernando's lips as he watched the local women move about in their bathing suits. He spotted a red haired young girl with dark skin. "She's not from around here.." Careja had ventured out of her bedroom in search of Tares. She had tried to stay alone, she had tried to nap, but Colado's face appeared each time her eyes closed. Where was Tares. How dare he leave her when she actually wanted his company! |
Tares was distracted by his mother's cautionary warnings. He couldn't let Careja get too close. But he had already given the young woman his heart. He would eagerly trade his soul if she demanded it. That was how hard he had fallen. So badly...
Careja spotted him quickly and crossed her arms. He obviously didn't understand how serious her brother's order was. When Pessego said to care for her every need, he was damn right supposed to! "TARES!" |
Tares heard her voice. He knew he should have walked off and acted like he didn't hear her, maybe if he just explained to her that he couldn't tend to her now it would be alright. He walked the distance between them. "Yes?"
"Where were you? I've been looking for you." He became hopefull. She was looking for him. Maybe she had some declaration to offer him about her new feelings. If she told him she was interested, he would easily forget his mother's warnings and believe her. "I had business to take care of." "My brother told you to stay with me, regardless of whether I told you I was fine. You're supposed to follow my brother's orders. I don't care about the rest of the patrons. YOU are supposed to stay with ME." Careja fought to keep a serious face. She just wanted to hug him and tell him she was terrified Colado would come to her again. |
Tares apologized to the girl. He wasn't sure how to express how sorry he was. Other patrons rallied her on with their supportive expressions. That's right, show that poor boy who's boss. Money talks. Then they paused to admire his looks. Such a shame beautiful poor people were dumb!
"I promise you, it won't happen again. I just - " "No excuses. My brother would have your head if he knew you abandoned me." He did not mind her anger toward him nor her interruptions. She was captivating even when furious. "I just wanted to make sure my mother was okay." |
That a boy Tares! That's how you make her regret herself! WHOOT!
Careja's loud shouts diminished, in it's place came a soft and concerned voice. "Mother? Is she alright?" The subject of parents, no matter where it came from, brought out the unhealed part of Careja that longed for her dead parents. Her mother especially had been her best friend and confidant. When Laranja expressed Careja was cruel towards her just because she was jealous, it was partially true. Not because she thought Laranja was more attractive, in god's name no way that was true she thought, but it was because Laranja had her mother and father there whenever she needed to cry or hug her. Tares caught the massive change in tone. "She's doing well." "If you had just said that from the start, I wouldn't have been cross with you." Considering she had come at hime yelling there had been no opportunity to tell her. "I didn't want to worry you." Careja smiled at up him. "Is she pretty?" Before Tares could answer her back she took her question back. "Nevermind. Come stand outside my room door." |
Tares smiled at her, nodding to acknowledge that he would do so. He escorted her up to her room and was about to stand as directed by her door when she gestured him in. Of course, that was just a rouse for the other wealthy people watching. She, Careja Dulce, had a beautiful young man guarding her and groveling at her feet. Hah! Burn with envy!
He watched her, wondering just how much longer he got to be in her presence. He could smell her perfume, light and pulling him into obsession. The way the wind blew through her hair. The way her full lips looked in bright and dim light. The way her skin shone. She was his goddess... Careja caught him staring. |
"You're doing it again, staring at me that way."
"I appologize, I can't help it. You're beautiful." Careja didn't contain her giggle. "Lots of people tell me that." "I'm sure they do." "Since you're going to be with me awhile, you wont be able to work as much so Pessego's going to pay you for your hours. Just work all the details out with him." Tares watched her move over to the cabinet next to her. "While you're with me you can relax. I just need your company." From the cabinet she pulled out a bottle and went back to the sofa. She sat down and handed the bottle to him. "Pour me some?" She held out two tall champagne glasses. Tares noticed the bottle. It was the same one she had him drink from when they first met. "I'm honored that you'd let me have more." "You've helped me a lot. You, I don't mind drinking what I make." As Tares poured herself and himself some of the liquor she watched the pink liquid slide out of the bottle, the more that filled her glass the deeper the shade became until it was the same dark red as her lipstick. "Tell me about your mother." |
Tares smiled, welcoming the interest in him and his life. Was it possible he was growing on her?
"She's a beautiful woman, second only to you. She's the only family I have. My dad was a patron here and promised her so much...but only left her with me. I've never met him. It's been hard for her - the other women talking about her and raising a little boy alone, so I've been working in the resort since I was a kid to try to make up for all that she's been through. I think she'll never stop being hurt from that man. She warns me a lot about the rich people. Their charms. Their money. Their lies." A pause for dramatics. "...She wouldn't be happy with me when she finds out how much I have fallen for you," he teased. |
Careja smiled at his description of his mother and frowned at the parts where he spoke of her being all alone.
A laugh came at his last comment. "My family wouldn't be happy either if they knew I had falle--" Her mouth quickly shut. She knew what she was going to say. It had completely slipped, and been so natural that she didn't think about it. "What were you going to say?" Tares asked because what she had started to say sounded like what his heart longed to hear. "Nothing....Tares." The way she was looking up at him through her long thick eyelashes, the way she said his name, FINALLY said his name in a soft tone, inspired his next rash actions. All common sense and thinking aside, he reached out and felt along her cheek. She didn't slap him, yet. He moved in when no hesitation came from Careja and lightly brushed his lips up against hers. Tares felt like his heart would soar when Careja's lips parted to return his gentle kiss. He lingered against her to lengthen their kiss as long as he could. Sadly, she pulled back from him. "It must be the drinks. I've had too many." |
"I'm sorry," Tares said, quick with his apology.
His eyes were sad. Sad that things would never work out between them. He swore something deep within him said this was the girl he wanted to be with forever. It was an incessant voice that would not quiet despite his mother's warnings to stop it at once. He was so weak... Careja gazed at him and felt over his collar slowly. |
"Don't look at me that way." Careja brought her hand up from his collar to touch his cheek. "You have gorgeous eyes, they shouldn't look so sad."
He turned his gaze away, he couldn't make the expression in his eyes disappear. "I know my brother Morango often seduces the workers whereever we go. People like us made your mother and you so sad. How can you like me when I've been so cruel to you? I don't usually even consider workers to be human, other than you of course." |
