TCGs - Do you play?
Do you play any Trading Card Games?
Like Magic the Gathering, YuGiOh, Pokemon, Naruto, Harry Potter, World of Warcraft, and too many more to name? If you do, what do you play? What are you opinions on TCGs? ~ I play Magic, YuGiOh, and Pokemon. I think TCGs are a lot of money if you think about it. A pack of 12 cards costs about $4. It is insane. Packs of 60 cards in a premade deck cost between $10 - $13. |
I played the original Star Wars CCG (the Decipher one), I still have a big pile of cards from the DBZ CCG, and I used to play the LotR CCG, both online and in physical cards. My physical card collection is gone, and my 10,000+ card digital collection is pretty well finished since the game is ending. :(

I used to go out and buy YugiOh cards and pokemon.
But the interest clearly dried up long ago. I never actually played like competition with them though. I still have a whole bunch in my closet though. xD; |
I still have all of my DBZ CCG cards in my closet, too. I was hoping I could convince my wife to play with me once I got her watching the remastered DVD sets. I was wrong, though, so there they sit.

I used to play Harry Potter, Starwars and Pokemon, but not properly. I just used to amke up my own rules because the book rules were WAY too confusing for my little brain. Now I just stay away from trading card games because I'm not very bright on how to play them and I don't have the patience to learn.
I basically would just buy them to collect them. |
When Pokémon was popular, my family had pretty much no money, so instead of playing the card game, my friends and I would just pretend we were Pokémon trainers at lunch and stuff. xD It was good times. One of them got a full set, though!
I played Yu-Gi-Oh for a little while. I still have a lot of cards o_o I keep meaning to go sell them to the card place thing that... takes cards... but I keep forgetting. They're sooo expensive. Of course, I didn't register that when I was like "YUGIOHYUGIOHYUGIOH" all the time, but looking back, I'm like... aha what the hell. |
I used to collect Pokemon cards, but was much more obsessed with Yugioh cards. I had at least 400 cards at the time, but sold them on E-bay last year. C: I no longer find TCG cards entertaining. :< |
I used to play Magic: The Gathering at the games shop but that was really only because I didn't have the time/money/motivation to play games with models like Warhammer. I ended up getting interested and I liked reading all the articles on the website. Even after I stopped buying the cards I used to keep up with the new sets that were coming out and the new rules that were introduced.
I collected Pokémon cards because I liked the show when I was younger. I collected Yu-Gi-Oh! cards for much the same reason and I was lucky enough that a friend who was serious about collecting gave me a lot of his duplicate cards. I didn't really buy many Yu-Gi-Oh! cards but I have a couple of the games for GBA. That's probably much cheaper! |
I used to, first it was Pokemon, then Digimon (that card game was a joke), then it was Yu-gi-oh!, but then I grew out of them all.

I use to be in love with trading card games like pokemon when I was a little kid, but alas those day are due and my time is nearer to end.

lol no I have no interest in buying cards, but I used to play Pokemon Trading Card Game on the Gamboy, it's very cool really.

I never really was interested in card games. I dunno, I guess with the way my family is, there's more exciting things to do. like getting my brother out of jail xD

Pokémon.
I used to play the Pokémon card game way back when Pokémon was really popular. That's actually what got me into Pokémon in the first place, but I ended up liking the video games more. Now, I barely even remember how to play the card game, because there's not really anyone to play it with now. I suppose I could play it with my boyfriend, but he'd kick my butt in it for sure. I still have my collection of cards but I rarely buy new ones since I don't play the game anymore. For a while I was just collecting the cards to collect them, but I kind of lost interest. I still play the video games sometimes though.

i play magi-nation, one not very popular ones. my friend introduced me to it, and it's pretty fun.

I used to play with my Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, but I sort of grew out of it. I still have my cards, but only because I think some of them have really awesome designs. I don't have a deck or anything, just a bunch of cards.

I have never played a trading card game. I would like to try them they look so cute. But the cards are so expensive.

I play Magic: The Gathering with a deck my best friend made for me.
Previously, I used to just collect Pokemon, Yugi-Oh! and Digimon cards. Digimon was uber awesome, I just wish I hadn't lost them all. ;-; My Magic: The Gathering deck is a white-red deck. [Plains and Mountains to the inexperienced.] Although I'm not too understanding of my own deck or the abilities of most cards in the game, I can still put up a good fight. :) |
I have never really tired any of the trading card games but I wanted to but I would end up playing against my self around here lol.

@ Soda - I have a pack of those cards. I found them at Boardwalk and Parkplace in the mall. They looked cool! I also have a game Magi Nation for the Gameboy.
@ ShanShan - I know what you mean about the awsome desings! I love to collect the 'pretty' and 'cute' and 'cool' cards. ^_^ @ Pie - Yeah, they are really expensive! Like a pack of 11 cards for like $4! It is insanity! What are garbage pal kids? @ Haterius - I love all those too! ^_^ I am sure you will get the hang of it in no time, just keep practicing, and it will become natural to you! ^_^ @ Living Dead - Yeah, there are not too many people around my area who play TCGs either T_T. Oh well, I can just wait until I move out! ^_^ I really want to go to some tournaments! I think it would be an awsome experiece! ^_^ |
I used to play pokemon, digimon, and Magic the gathering. I don't anymore because all my decks are out of date and I don't want to fork over $50 to get a good deck again. Magic is worse then pokemon I got my deck more recently and a year later I need a new one just to play...so I quit. As for digimon its very hard to find someone else with a deck.

I know what you mean about them going out of date so fast. I like playing with my friends, and we host our own tournament sometimes, so that older decks are available for use. |
Nah... Trading cards, well, I guess I think they're kinda lame. I mean, I have better things to do with my time/money x3
