Yeah...
Considering that my first job is at a craft place, and I bought all my materials there, but I've since lost the receipts to those purchases, I can't risk taking my things in, even if I HAD time to do it there.
As for job2, well, I was told from the start that if I do my knitting there I'd be fired.

So.

'Ello, all. Just found this thread whilst meandering around. I don't knit or crochet (yet,) but I do sew and make jewelry... And am waiting for my own sewing machine to arrive via mail. :D

Perpetual, that cloak and those gloves are lovely! I love the blue in them.

Connielass 01-03-2010 03:41 AM

Welcome!

My next project!

I figure that a snood would be a really nice accessory for my hair and would make getting ready in the morning easier. I've heard good things about this pattern, so hopefully I'll be able to make it pretty quickly.

AlbaRosaria 01-07-2010 02:12 AM

Can't wait to see the finished project. I love snoods, they are so pretty.

Here is a site that ya'll may be interested in: BurdaStyle Just somethin' fun. :)

Connielass 01-07-2010 04:58 AM

I wish I could make that snood, but I can't crochet.
Anyhow, I'm working on my boyfriend's scarf right now.

I'll try to get a picture up of it sometime soon, but it won't be this week. I'll also (finally!) get a pic up of the wrap I'd been working on, which is now finished.

Janenju 01-07-2010 08:25 AM

I can't believe there's a Stitch 'n Bitch thread on here. This is tres cool. <3

Knerd 01-07-2010 04:50 PM

Thanks Janenju! Are you working on anything right now?

Zephi 01-30-2010 04:59 PM

I really have no idea what this thread is but it seems that it died a while ago. Maybe I should look back a little and see what it's all aboot. lol. Heya Knerd :P Hows it going? :D

EDIT: Ooooh... knitting. I see. Well, I don't know how to knit. I can do sutures though! Does that count?

YuenGuon 01-30-2010 08:32 PM

holy cow!

how are you?
what's happenin =)

Connielass 02-01-2010 09:13 PM

Oi!
I'm working on a scarf for my boyfriend.
I'll try to get a pic up sometime tonight.

eyelinerinblackplaid 02-05-2010 11:29 PM

@ connielass yay for photos!

so, is anyone doing the ravelympics/knitting olympics this year? i'm doing the ravelympics and competing for team evil league of evil this year. i think teams are still taking new members, so you should all go and join.

Guivre 02-05-2010 11:32 PM

Right now I wish that I had started a Valentine's Day project. D= Oh well, I'll pick out something nice and start it early. =D

It also reminds me to add some supplies to my list today ...

YuenGuon 02-06-2010 02:39 AM

my sister is doing ravelympics, i might join on that.

Connielass 02-06-2010 06:48 AM

I'm FINALLY learning myself how to crochet!
This blizzard coming through the area has given me free time in which to practice.
I'm making a double-crocheted cell-phone purse, and it's almost finished. I think I'm either doing it too tightly, or the hook I'm using is one size too small. (3/0, if that means anything to anyone)

As for the ravelympics, no, I just don't have the time to participate.
And I know, I still don't have the pic up.
Right now it's not possible for me to get up and get that done. Her royal majesty (Snickers, my boyfriend's cat) has decided that I'm to be her throne until such time as she feels like moving.

Soon as I can get pics, though, I'll put up one of the scarf and one of the (however incomplete) cell-phone purse.

.... reminds me.. :: reaches out to Mom's button collection::

siaasgn 02-07-2010 01:27 AM

I'm actually avoiding working on 2 baby blankets i should be making right now.

My nephews (twins!) are due to be born in April & I wanted to make 2 matching bunny blankets - I'm about 20 rows into the first one and I just keep putting it off :gonk:

I'll have to post some photos when I finally finish them before I mail them off to Texas and the babies.

Connielass 02-07-2010 05:22 AM

::grabs camera, scarf and cell-phone bag and gets to flashing::

eyelinerinblackplaid 02-12-2010 09:19 PM

@ connielass i can't wait to see your photos. ^_^

so, was anyone snowed in after the storm in the north east of the us? did you get any knitting in?

i was snowed in. i even got two days off of work. 0.0 so, i got lots of knitting in. curling up with my knitting and cup of hot chocolate was all i wanted to do. the body of my sweater is now six inches longer, front and back. i love knitting in the round; it's so easy to just keep going around and around. and if you're doing stockinette, you never purl (i have nothing against purling, but purling take me a little longer). i forget how fast stockinette in the round can be. i'm working in a light fingering weight on size three needles and i thought the body would take me forever. but i'm almost done with it and it's only been a week or so. and i've already started on one of the sleeves.

YuenGuon 02-12-2010 09:58 PM

ohh i did!!! I started knitting an amigurumi critter! and I'm halfway done!

i'm starting ravelympics tonight. I have some mittens I want to try out!

eyelinerinblackplaid 02-13-2010 02:14 AM

@ yuenguon oh! exciting. i hope you'll post photos. i'm sure it'll be adorable.

and i'm about to go cast on right now for the ravelympics. i'm making a fair isle vest.

does any one know if there are any olympic games threads? i'd love to have some chatter while i work. ^_^

YuenGuon 02-13-2010 02:52 AM

there's a whole bunch in the group!

Connielass 02-13-2010 05:50 AM

I finally took those pictures, I just haven't uploaded them yet. My batteries went dead.
The first storm I couldn't get out, so I spent a couple days finally teaching myself how to crochet with the help of various internet tutorials. It took a video for me to learn the double crochet stitch.

And I want to make some amigurumi-style ball toys for my kitties to play with, but I don't have the yarn, and I completely forgot to get some when I stopped in to work earlier this evening (I work at a craft store ^^).
Oh well. At least I remembered to get the tip-proof water bowl.

YuenGuon 02-13-2010 02:31 PM

I tried to get back into crochet, but I just like knitting better.

I always want to get more yarn, but I know I should use up the yarn that I have at home. But, that doesn't happen :P
I wouldn't have the will power to not buy yarn every time i worked haha

Connielass 02-13-2010 06:53 PM

Yeah, believe me, it's torture to see all that yarn and not buy some.

YuenGuon 03-12-2010 04:56 PM

About a year ago I got Noro yarn from a friend, but I didn't have enough to finish this lovely scarf, but now that I have more yarn, I'm able to finish the Danica scarf!
