o___o @ Little kid shows on Nick JR.

These shows are really trippy. xD

There was one really freaky one on yesterday and I dunno what it was called, but this one on right now is really trippy and annoying. I dunno what it's called. -Goes to find the remote.-

Okay, it's called 'Wow! Wow! Wubzy!'
o-o;; They must have secret messages in them.
Like 'If you want to see this stuff FOR REAL when you are grown up, do acid.'

DDD: I am a-feared. xDD

iiroko 03-27-2008 06:05 PM

Some of the nick shows are now becoming pathetic while others are really helpful and educational. What is the deal with the Wiggles though? Aren't all of them on that show pretty much gay? I have no problem with gays, but I do not think that little kids should even know about that sexuality in their younger years. Children shouldn't have to deal with the issues today. >.< They should be oblivious to it all.

What happened to the decent shows though? Angry Beavers? Catdog? Hey Arnold! Rocko's Modern Life[even though I think it kind of set off signals of other stuff sometimes]. . . Ren and Stimpy? There were a whole lot more. For Nick Jr, I really haven't saw that big blue face that used to come on or Franklin. Little Bear I haven't saw in a while.

Schwartz Panda Kiri 03-27-2008 06:12 PM

xD
I didn't know what gay was until 7th grade. xDD;; I was so sheltered. ; 3;

DUDE! Those shows were AMAZING!
Ren and Stimpy was labeled too mature for little kids though. xD (Even though I watched it when I was like 7. o.o)

I hated Little Bear. xD I thought it was annoying and boring. xD;;;
But I liked Franklin. :3

And Allegra's Window! I think that's what it was called. xD Anddd Gullah Gullah Island?

;_; I wish I was a kid again. xD

iiroko 03-27-2008 06:19 PM

It's okay. I was sheltered just like you. I had no idea of what the word meant, but I kept 'insulting' people with it. e_e;

Gullah Island was always fun. Wasn't that that show with uhm that big froggy in it?

Never really watched Allegra's Window. What was that one really childish show? Big bear in the blue house or something like that? XD. My little cousin loved that show, but now she watches spongebob all the time because it's on all the times now. I really miss having all those use to be shows. A lot of the little kids loved them, especially catdog. I just don't understand why change something that's good?

;_; I wish I was a kid again too...I'm still one at heart, but it just isnt enough. XD

Titenya 03-27-2008 06:25 PM

Some of the shows they put on for little kids are scary, and some are very eduicational (eep i cna't spell)

I like the little einstiens, i think they are on disney, they are fun, educational, and the animation is adorable. My neice (she's 3 1/2) loves Jojo's circus (also disney).

Nick... their shows have always been a little more on the creepy side. I remember they had one with store displays that came to life, and another that had a bumble bee for a main charactor. I did like the snoozles though, i still love kowalas to this day. And the Sharon, Lois, and Brahm Elephant show rocked.

Ooh another great, but no longer showed kids show was Under teh umbrella tree. i used to love that show... I wonder what happene to it.

Schwartz Panda Kiri 03-27-2008 06:25 PM

>_o Ooh, that must have been bad. You must have been upset when you found out what it was and how you were using it was wrong. ;w;

Yes! It was a big tadpole with legs. xD And his favorite food was Shoo-Fly Pie. xD

Yeah. Allegra's window was a really young kid show. xD
I loved Bear in the Big Blue house! O: !!!

Spongebob has it's moments. xD But mostly it's annoying.

Yeah. ._. What's the point of changing it?!

Yeah, I still feel like a 10 year old. xD

o__o I've never heard of those Nick shows you mentioned. xD

Or most of those at all except for Little Einstein. xD

Titenya 03-27-2008 06:33 PM

some of them may be from disney not nick jr... but the ones in the bottom part of my post are all old shows that i watched as a kid, like 20 years ago... wow i can remember tv from 20 years ago that scares me.

There are a few good shows out there. I like go diego go, i love multi lingaul shows. My neice is part pakhistani part american so she's growing up learning 2 languages, and it's fun to learn others as well. I'm not a fan of dora... i don't know, her shows don't seem to have much of a plot, but they are for little kids so what ever.

I hate blues clues, that show was always annoying, and it got wore when they got the second host then went animated... that was jsut weird. Stuff like the wiggles or teletubbies also creeps me out as well.

I do like a lot of the kids shows on like gbh/pbs the local stations ya know? they are mostly educational, and a lot of fun. there's one with a monkey (i don't know if it's a monkey or not but it might be) puppet and two guys, and they learn about diffrent animals... I think it's cute

Also, you shouldn't double post, that's agaisnt the rules. If you want to add something else and no one else has posted use the edit button.

sabishisa 03-27-2008 06:39 PM

@iiroko: You know, I really don't think any child watching TV is going to point to one of those guys and ask their parent "Is he gay?" I mean, come on. Children don't have any views on sexuality. All they see is an adult acting silly and making them laugh. I don't see anything at all wrong with that, especially in a world where there's so much sex and violence on TV for little eyes to see.

I saw a commercial on Disney Channel the other day that made me go o__o big time, though... I have no idea what the show was for but it was this blonde chick and some guy. The girl grabs the guy by his wrists and slams him against the bookshelves (they were in a library) and gives him this really raunchy kiss. I couldn't believe DISNEY put something like that on TV.

Schwartz Panda Kiri 03-27-2008 06:41 PM

Oops. @[email protected]
I have to be more careful then. xD -Is on Gaia at the same time.- I forget. xD o 3o;;;

Yeah I like Go Diego Go better than Dora. x3 Dora is just slow and boring. ._.;

xD Oh okay, that explains why I didn't know what you were talking about. @[email protected]

xD there's still different time-slots on Disney that are aimed at certain ages. Usually really early in the morning until around 1 o'clock, is when the little kid shows play, and then is shows for teenagers. Like 'That's so Raven' and stuff like that. o.o

Titenya 03-27-2008 06:47 PM

@sabishisa though, even to a young child, sexuality and sexual sterotypes/gender roles are important.

Kids need to start learning to question things at a young age and they have to not be afraide to know what is going on.

At 3 years old, my neice wanted to know why my cousin's baby girl had 2 mommies and no daddy... today's society is so diffrent that we need to deal with things like this when they are young so that they don't grow up to hate people who are diffrent.

Also teaching them right from wrong needs to start wehn they are young. You cna't pertend sex is not there untill they are in highschool. There are kids who become Sexually acitve (or atleast attpemt self satisfaction) as young as 9 years old. They need some one to tell them why they are chaning, what they are feeling, that's it's ok to feel like that and why they should not do anything sexual, even if the people on tv are.

Argh yes now THOSE were cartoons! I also liked the original All That and Kenan and Kel.

Takabean 03-27-2008 07:45 PM

I have a two year old brother so I watch those shows almost every day :lol: they actually aren't that bad once you get used to them. Although some of them really annoy me. My favorite though is probably Yo Gabba Gabba lolol It's just about these people in costumes dancing around about nothing :lol:

While I agree that this is true, I also think that the mindset of "men are burly, strong, leaders" and "women are soft, delicate, housewives" hinders what a young child could grow up to be. It's proven that young men/boys that are abused have a MUCH harder time getting help and dealing with the abuse in the first place based simply on the gender stereotype set for men.

But this is getting off topic so I won't say much more ^_^;

Vickicat 03-27-2008 07:58 PM

Shows.

I haven't watched kid shows in a very long time. XD But whenever I happen to see them or hear about them they all seem like they are some sort of drug induced thing. I really wonder why this is, because when I was a kid the shows actually did have meaning to them and stuff. Now it's just weird stuff and seems to be getting more and more weird.

I'm watching 'fairly odd parents' its so funny, i love watching it, this episode is where timmys fairy god parents become his real parents friends and they totally ignore timmy. its funny, their in all sorts of trouble.

Schwartz Panda Kiri 03-27-2008 08:55 PM

I DO love Fairly Oddparents. <3
But that's not the kind of kid's show I was talking about. xD I meant like toddler shows to 9 year olds shows. xD

KawaiiKasu 03-27-2008 08:58 PM

Hmm. I remember back in kindergarten I'd get home just in time for Blue's Clue's and Little Bear. Mom would make me Spaghetti O's and I'd sit on the couch and watch my shows. o:

All That and Kenan and Kel ended up being the shows I watched during the summer.
Oh, oh! And Figure It Out!
<333
Ahh, those were great.
I love orange soda.

Schwartz Panda Kiri 03-27-2008 09:05 PM

@Kasu; xD
Awwww. So cuuute. >w<!!!

o_o I was like 10 when I Blues Clues came out. xDD;;
Not In kindergarten.

OMG. I loved All That! The one with Loribeth Dimberg or however her name was spelled. >_<;;
