I've always loved watching kid shows. I still do, because even though I'm 16, I'm still a kid at heart. <3 I watched Arthur, Elmo's World, and some PBS kid shows for years because I didn't have any other channels that showed up well during the weekdays.
There was this one kid show that I was deathly afraid of, more than teletubbies. It showed these multicolored creatures dancing to music, and weird adults... starts with a B. It scared the hell out of me!!! I've never been so freaked out! I thought they were brainwashing little kids >.< |
lol I still watch little kids shows sometimes. <3 I like The Backyardigans on Nick and Max and Ruby. xD
There's also this one, which is based kinda like Dora and Diego, 'cept the little girl is like Asian. Its kind of cute. Yo Gabba Gabba scares the hell out of me. Its so trippy. When I was little, I didn't really like the shows on Nick. I watched um...Allegra's Window (I still remember an episode where she didn't want to try a new food, rutabagas, except I remember that they were blue. Rutabagas aren't blue. O.o) and Gulla Gulla Island and Blue's Clues. But my favorite shows were on PBS. xD I loved Reading Rainbow and Wishbone. <3 *still watches them all the time* >.> <.< My favorite favorite show when I was little was Barney. I loved Baby Bop. It was the best show ever. Apparently, I used to sing the theme song to my brother when he was a baby. >w< When my sister was over for the weekends or if she stayed during summer, I'd watch "Big kid shows" with her. She liked All That and Kenan and Kel and Are You Afraid of the Dark? (Whatever happened to that show?) So, (even though I didn't let her know it) I loved all those shows too. I love orange soda. <3 God, talking about this stuff makes me want to be a kid again. ;-; I'm a kid at heart, but its just not the same as actually being a kid. When you get older, you see too much, there's just no innocence left...its kind of sad, really. :[ [/emo] |
Kids shows now a days aren't really all too bad, but the old shows I grew up on I do miss. I used to be obsessed with Mya the bee and the little bits.

When I was little I used to watch Mr. Ben, CrystalTips and Allistair, The Herbs, and The Raggy Dolls. They don't make shows like that anymore. =( *Huggles toy Clanger.* |

kids shows are NOTHING compared to what they used to be...
it's like they make them now only for entertainment instead of for educational value. i remember ALL of those older shows you guys have mentioned!! those were the shows to grow up with. when i was younger i loved to watch Eureka's Castle, Lamb Chop's Playalong, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Beekman's World, Care Bears, Gummi Bears, and hell i even watched Barney on occasion!! there are A LOT more, i just couldn't name them all off at the moment *sweat* granted the good entertainment may not have always been there, but those shows taught good values and morals!! the things kids NEED nowadays!! so many kids are growing up being snotty little brats, it hurts me... the parents are just letting it happen or, god forbid, ADDING to it!! children feel that they deserve to be spoiled on every occasion that THEY see fit... it's horrible because i grew up ((as i'm sure most of you did too)) with better morals and knowing to appreciate what i had and not expect it at every turn. |
LOL my daughter loves "Wow Wow Wubbzy!"It is one of her favorite shows lol. She is always playing around like she is Wubbzy and Widget and I forgot the other ones name. XP We have to tivo them for her or she freaks out goes threw Wubbzy with draws lol. At least it is not Dora anymore I have gotten burnt out with Dora and Diego... I cringe at their voices now lol.

Blues Clues was my favorite kid show, and now you don't see it anymore. I think Blue Clues was the only show i would watch even though i'm a teen. It wasn't stupid and annoying like all the others. That show was amazing T__T
But now you barely ever see it on. And you see all these other stupid shows that have no point to them. And i got mad when they switched the dude for Blue Clues... the original guy was the best. |

Lamb chop scared me though. xD Yeah. I like the shows with the morals and learning. There are still SOME shows. When I have kids I'd still rather they read books. xD x3 My mom says I used to 'blackmail' my grandpa into reading with me while I eat. xD Like I wouldn't eat unless he read with me. But like the host was a ghost and it was evil? *forgets details* I know. Now I'm like worried about a whole list of shit. The one that creeps me out, and I can't remember if this is Nick or Disney, is Boobah. They are these freakish, demonish, Furry, dirt baby creatures that stare at you with wide bulging eyes! And they only move them from side to side.
-shudder- And if it's not bad enough to see them on the tv screen, they've made them into toys. They come complete with all the creepiness. I swear that toy will take a knife to you and try and kill you as you sleep. It just gives some people more reason to dislike babies. x' D Edit: I do love Dora and Diego though.
