Elena fought against time, she hurried a bit of a meal and placed it all together neatly on a tray, heading back to the med-rooms...she only prayed that Danae wouldn't decide to get up again....there would be reprucussions if she had.

Danae thankfully, hadn't moved. Instead, she was laying on the table, as if trying to get a tan or something.
Elena had gotten lucky this time, yes.
But Danae had made up her mind.
If Elena didn't want to tell her where Reno was, she'd find someone who would.

"I'm baaaacccckkk!" She said cheerily as she walked back through the door. With her, she carried a plate heaped with eggs, bacon, sasuage, everything and anything she thought Danae would eat.
"I just kind of heated everything...hope you don't mind...it's TURK rations so I don't suggest eating the eggs...well, not too much of them anyway."
She sat the tray down and poured herself a cup of coffe, motioning with her mug to see if Danae wanted any herself.

Smiling slightly, Danae sat up, and stared down at the food.
Though it may have been Turk rations, food was food. And any food, looked good right now.

"Now Elena," she began, finding a fork, and plunging into the eggs.
"I have a question for you. It's nothing too big or anything, but it's important, and you need to answer me."

Placing the fork in her mouth, she began to chew her bite of eggs. They weren't so bad..

She smiled over her coffe, sitting down into a chair.
"I'll try, but don't hold me to anything." First rule of thumb, never make promises before you know what the fine print is.

"Where is Reno."
It was an actual statement, yes.
She was more demanding the answer, than asking the question.
She wanted to know... Had something happened to him?

She shoved the thought aside, and scooped up more eggs.
"And don't lie to me."

Elena almost choked on her coffe.
"Wha--" She coughed out, hitting her chest trying to get her lungs to remember how to breathe.
"Well..." She set her cup aside and crossed her legs, placing her hands on her knees.
"I guess there's no point in hiding it...but you have to remain calm..he'd kill me if you got hurt any worse than you are..." She looked over and ran her finger over the curve of her mug trying to find the words to say.
"After you came back...and we started to remove the bullet....Reno sped off...he told us when Rude hauled him back...that he went looking for the avatars...well he found them.....and he barely made it back alive...he's doing fine now...Rude and Teseng are taking care of him next door....they should be setting his ribcage right about now."

Dropping her fork instantly, Danae's mouth fell open too, a few eggs spilling out.
"What do you mean by remaining calm!?"
Jumping from the table, Danae's face was red.
"Were you just not going to tell me or something!? I mean, did my knowledge of the situation not matter!?"
Stomping her foot to the floor, she continued.

"I will go find those men myself if my opinion doesn't matter!"

Elena met anger with still calmness.
"We were going to tell you as soon as you were out of danger, and HEALED." She moved by Danae and jabbed her finger into her side, enought to cause pain, but not enough to bust the stiches that Teseng had worked so hard on.
"Sit back down and I'll let you see him when the others are done." Her voice was firm and she ushered Danae back to the table.
"Going out there and getting yourself killed isn't going to make the situation any better and you know that. So just calm down and think rationally for a moment will you?"

"Hey, that hurt!"

Poking Elena back before being pushed to the table, Danae hid her face.
She had her arms folded over, on top of the table, and her face, hidden away.
She was very, very angry. Of course she was.
But it was true what Elena had said about getting killed.
Danae wanted to be there as soon as she could be when they were done, and death wasn't an option for that.

"I'm not hungry anymore." She snapped out, still hiding remotely.

"It was supposed to." Elena said simply, smiling. It was like caring for a stubborn child.
She sat back in her chair and sipped on her coffee again....caffine just wouldn't cut it now...Danae was too much.

"I'm not surprised, but you should still try to eat...you'll need your strength." She smiled gently.
"That is if you want to be able to walk to the other room to see Reno later."
Bribery....if that didn't work she didn't know what would.

Shaking her head fiercely, Danae shook the table.
"I'm not eating!"

If she just happened to pass out on her way to Reno, so be it. Someone would probably pick her up, and drop her on a bed somewhere anyway.
So really, she didn't think it was too big of a deal.

"And it's all your fault too. If I die, and Reno wants to know why, tell him that you lied to me, and then took my food away."

Now, she was just being dumb.

Elena sighed.
"Fine be that way, but when he asks, I'll just show him the video tape that you refused to eat." She sipped her coffee and pointed to a corner where a camera sat blinking mildly.
"You can be stubborn all you want, but do you really think that it's going to help anything? Your childish behaivor is only going to hurt you and Reno. He risked his life becaue those three hurt you...will it make him feel better that you died simply because you didn't want to eat?"

Shrugging slightly, Danae turned her now uncovered face, away from Elena.
"I don't know. He might laugh though.."

Sitting in silence for a moment, Danae turned to Elena.
"Why did he do that.. It would have been fine... I mean, I barely know him anyway, right..?"

Always trying to find answers to things that didn't need answering. That was Danae.

(HOMG I WANT RENO ACTION! XD)

"Doubt it."

Elena looked over, setting her cup aside and smiled.
"Cuz that goof likes you. Isn't that reason enough? Not to mention he hates it when innocent people get hurt....that's...just the way he is."

"OW!!!" Reno lay there, fully concious and with a bottle of the strongest liquor Rude could find in his hand.
"DAMNIT TESENG, could you BE anymore rough!?" Teseng quirked an eyebrow over the bruised ribs and smiled.
"Yes..would you like me to try it that way?" Reno's eyes got HUGE and he shook his head no.
"You're lucky." Rude said from his doorway position.
"Danae could be in here watching you whine like a baby...." He snickered.
"And..*snick* in those boxers too." The brusing went all the way to his hips, so Teseng had reluctantly cut away his uniform trousers to treat the wounds...unfortunately, that left Reno in an odd position...with his heart print underwear out in the open for all to see.
He blushed and glared.
"Tell her and you're a dead man."

Danae sort of shrugged again. And by now, she was getting anxious.
"Come on, come on!"
She said suddenly, leaping from her position.
"Let me go see him! Don't you think I deserve it..?"
Time to start guilt tripping, right?

"I promise I won't get in the way or anything! I'll just sit there, I promise! Pleassseeeeee?"
She whined, and then tugged on Elena's sleeve.
"I just want to thank him."

Right, uh-huh, thank.

Elena was caught off guard when Danae took hold of her sleeve, she nearly spilled her coffee on both of them before she got it set back on the table again.
"Fine, fine, I'll take you to see him...if they say no visitors however, you're going to have to come back here."
She smiled gently and opened the door for Danae.
"Let's go see how badly he's whining." Ahhh....those special people that know you for who you really are....and will use that knowledge to embarrass the hell out of you....Elena laughed to herself...what a surprise this was going to be.

"Knock knock!" She called from outside the door.
"You have a very impaitent young lady out here wishing to see how her knight in shining armor is doing. How about opening the door?"
Rude chuckled and slid it open peeking out.
"I'm surprised she's able to walk already..that was a nasty bullet hole, but if she promises to behave and not try and kill anyone, I suppose she can come in for a few minutes."
Reno scrambled for the scrub blanket that lay at his side before any permanant damage was done to his reputation and did his best not to let Danae see how badly he was injured.
"Hey." he said cooly, with only a wince.

Danae practically screamed when Elena began to take her to Reno. And when they arrived at the room, it was like the bullet hadn't touched her.
"Reno!" She squealed, pushing past Rude.
She didn't jump on him like she'd wanted to, but she did embrace him around the neck.
"I'm so glad you're okay!"
Popping a kiss on his head, she hugged it more.
"Why did you do that!? Stupid!"
Smacking his head suddenly, she crossed her arms at him.

"They could have killed you, and I would have been devastated! You would have left me all alone with.. Rude.."
Cringing slightly, she turned back, then flashed a smile at him.
"No offense Rude."

"BUT RENO!" Hugging him again suddenly, she smiled.
"Don't do that anymore!"

((XDD violent much? XDDD))

Reno sighed.
"Geeze woman, I'm not dead yet, no need to fuss like I am!" He chuckled but lifted his arm enough to hug her back. Teseng was finishing up bandaging his side and as soon as the wraps were tight enough to hold, he stepped back and out of the room, silently taking his leave before he found himself sick...he wasn't a people person anyway...but all this love....it was going to drive him batty.

"OW!" Reno grasped his head and glared back at Danae when she hit him.
"What did I do to deserve that!?" He cried.
Rude smiled and nodded.
"None taken."

Elena laughed.
"If I didn't know any better Reno, I'd say she might just give a damn about wether or not you die." He turned with a sarcastic smile and laughed.
"Ha, ha, ha......you're a riot Elena...I'd like to think she wasn't the only one."

(Nahh! XDD)

Holding Reno still, Danae laughed at everyone's comments. She also hoped that she wasn't the only one who cared; that would be terrible.
Hopping up next to him, she took the place behind his head, and then dropped him on her lap.
"Don't make me hit you again hon, cause I can."

She only grinned down upon him though. She'd hit him again if he needed it, but not too hard. Not in front of people.. Evil..

Pushing some hair from Reno's face, she giggled.
"But really, don't do it again.. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I knew you died trying to avenge my gut or something."

Turning back up to Rude and Elena, she smiled, trying to make things not look so mushy. Poor Reno was probably a tomato now.
"I'm sure Rude would miss all of your snoring anyway."

Reno flinched and stared up at her with large puppy dog eyes.
"Would you really hit me? Me being wounded and all...all for you!?" He feigned a sniffle and 'cried' into his forearm.
"That's so terrible of you!"
"Oh come off it Reno you big drama queen.." Rude chucked a large roll of gauze at his head, smiling as he reached out and caught it.
"See? You're not that bad off."
"It's not my arms that hurt Rude...it's my ribs." He chuckled and stuck out his tounge.
He looked back and sighed.
"Alright, alright, mother....I won't go off and play rough with the other kids again okay?"
Rude snorted in laughter, but Reno grew beet red and turned to Danae.
"I DON'T SNORE!" He protested.

Laughing slightly, Danae found herself snort only once.
"Oh come on! You were snoring when I woke up!"

Grinning from ear to ear, she had him. He couldn't argue with this one, nope. He wouldn't have any idea that he was snoring anyway!
She on the other hand, did.
"Loud as a Freight Train too! So wonder I didn't hear you last night!"

He was quite loud, dear God! Hopefully, he wouldn't be so loud tonight.. Well, if they could stay together again.. And she really hoped they could..
Even if he made her sleep on the floor this time, she would do it.
It was worth it.

"You can't argue with this one Reno, you were snoring. It was thundering in there!"

He let out a pitiful cry and looked over to Elena and Rude.
"Come on you two, YOU know I don't snore right?!..RIGHT?!" Elena doubled over with laughter and Rude put his hands up in surrender.
"I'm not getting in the middle of this one Reno, she's your girlfriend, deal with your own issues."
Again...there was that term...Rude used it so flippantly...but....Reno stopped altogether and his face with a pale pink.
"......Yeah..." He looked down at his hands and gripped them tightly..once..twice..then a third time.
"But....what good am I...if I can't even take care of her..." He mumbled remembering how Yazoo had called him 'pitiful'....he sighed.

Feeling the now serious tone in Reno's tone, Danae sort of made a cringe of a face.
So really, she was his girlfriend now..? She had no idea. And he was..agreeing to it..?
Biting her lip, she pushed back Reno's hair again.
"Reno... you didn't have to do that.. I- I'm not worth all of this trouble. Really, I'm not.. Besides, last time I checked, you were just some guy I shared a bed with.."

She wasn't turning him down, but she didn't exactly want him to be her boyfriend.. Not if things like this were going to happen everyday.

"I just... I'm not Reno, I'm nothing that special."

(Ew, short.)

Rude coughed in his throat and smiled, waving his goodbye as he ushered Elena out the door.
"We'll be back to check on you two later okay? Try not to destroy anything."

Reno shook his head.
"Danae.....Rude really should learn to watch his mouth...I...I merely meant...that...you shouldn't be here if that's the best that I can do to protect you.......when I went back....I...I don't think it was to avenge you...in fact it really didn't have anything to do with you...not at first...when I left....it was because I was so angry that they'd....acted so damn childish about the whole thing...like it was some kind of game.....that..I think, above all else...pissed me off....We're all fighting for our lives every time that we face them...and to be treated as nothing more than toys?...I couldn't stand it." He looked back up at her, his face for once grim.
"You're special to me..." He said softly.
