He turned around and smiled, placing his hands on her shoulders before wrapping them around her.
"That's my girl." He smiled and sighed, well....there was one natural disaster averted....but now.....could he live up to the unspoken promise he'd made? Only time would tell.

Even though technically, she'd forgiven Reno..Danae wasn't smiling. She was extraordinarily happy.. So he loved her, woo.. Didn't change the fact that he'd hurt her.
He couldn't just make things all better with a few new words.

Still holding to Reno slightly, she closed her eyes. Maybe things would get better.. Yeah, they had to..

He nuzzled into the top of her head and thought a moment.
"You're still pissed at me aren't you?" It was really more of stating the facts than anything else, and he hunkered down and looked off to one side sheepishly.
"You gotta talk to me though Danae....you're all huggy and cry.....ie...but I don't think that counts as actual converstation...."

Shrugging, Danae decided on her words.
"I hate you Reno." She said blandly. WHAT!? Woah.. That did not just happen...no.. But...it did....
"I hate you...."

Danae was thinking ahead now.. To all of the pain, and trouble she would be causing him. Those three were never going to stop..and she knew that..
If anything else ever happened to Reno.. she just die... Literally, she would...

Distancing herself was best..right?

"Aw.." He pouted leaning on her head again.
"And here I thought we were making progress." He sighed.
"Oh well, as long as we're on speaking terms." was he bi-polar? One minute he was sad and depressed and now......he was smiling like his old self, simply happy to have Danae talking to him again.
"I don't care if you want to see me dead love, as long as you're talking to me, I'm happy."

"No Reno," she said, trying to push away from him. "You don't understand..you..you can't... you... You don't get it do you Reno?"

Pushed away from his body now, Danae wiped her eyes. "Reno, they're going to kill you, and you don't even care! How can you just not care about that!?"

Pushing him more, she tried her best to stop the water works. "How can you just sit back and act like nothing is going to happen, that nothing else will go wrong!?"

He let her go, stepping back as much as he hated to, and stared at her with a most serious look on his face.
"Tell me Danae....how many years do you think I've been a TURK?" He didn't allow her time to answer.
"Long enough so that I know, Death is all part and parcel of my job, this isn't the first time I've gotten hurt, or threatened to be killed...and I'm certain that it won't be my last. I'm so used to death at my door.....I tell him 'Good Morning' every time I see him. My life really means jack in the whole scheme of things...so why not have a little fun and go out with a bang when it's my time?"

"But that is the problem Reno, I don't want you to die!"

By now, she was sure they were attracting attention of some sort. Teseng was probably watching on his cameras, and Elena was probably around the corner or something.

"I don't want you to get hurt Reno..."

Man! She just couldn't stop crying! She'd be sleeping good tonight wouldn't she..?

He smiled....oh that wicked, wicked smile.
"Then you don't hate me." He chuckled.
"If you're going to get all worked up over me dying then it's obvious that you love me back...or at least like me more than your letting on." He tilted his head.
"That's about the size of it isn't it?" He pulled her into another hug and sighed.
"I'm not going to die....well....not by those three anyway. Naw, I'm going to live so long that I'm going to die in the most undignified way possible....of old age...or from Teseng's nagging...whichever one comes first."

Resting in Reno's arms, Danae was silent. She couldn't argue, because he wasn't lying. She loved the fool, whether she wanted to or not.
"I just am afraid that if I care about you too much, you're going to stomp on me..and that's already happened once.."

She had been stomped on, and it was sharp. But she would end up, sooner or later, back in the bed with Reno, she knew it.

"I just don't want to love you.." But she technically, wasn't saying she didn't.

Reno sighed.
"If I do....and trust me, I'm going to do my darndest not to, but if it happens...I'll never wait as long as I did just now to tell you how I feel...and...apologize. That's the best I can do for now, alright?" He smiled and kissed the top of her head.
"And while I'm sure that's the truth....I want to love you....and do. So one of us is going to have to come to a compromise...and you're dead wrong if you think it'll be me." He smiled at her and brushed her reddened face free of tears.
"Is that alright with you?"

Shrugging slightly, Danae couldn't help but to smile.
But before she could do much more smiling, and wrapped her arms around him tighter.
She didn't want to let go. She wanted to love him, and couldn't lie like she just had. Wanting to be with him was the whole reason all of this had happened; one chance meeting at a bar.
Closing her eyes, she pulled one arm away from Reno, and wiped her face.
"I... I love you too Reno.." Was all she said..

He smiled...then winced.
"That's nice......but I think my ribs are starting to crack again.." He 'urked' and then pulled back hesitantly, taking a good look at Danae's own side.
"And you might want to take it easy from now on....you." He poked the bandage around her ribs and nodded.
"I think you may have ripped your stiches a bit..not enough to re-open your bullet hole, but darn near close enough." He looked up at her with a reprimanding look.
"How long have you been running around here?" He asked concerned.

Shrugging slightly, Danae wasn't exactly sure just how long she'd been running about.
"Too long," she said as her simple answer. "At least fifteen minutes.." That was a good rough estimate..
But more likely, it was double that. She'd indeed, been prepared to run away from this place if she needed to. But Teseng had beat her to the punch, and then she ended up here.
"I dunno.."

He looked hard at her then nodded.
"Let's get you back to the med room, I'll tell Rude to let Teseng know that you'll be staying....at least a little longer...and then..." He stifled a yawn.
"Maybe things will settle down long enough for you to get some rest....I bet you haven't done much of it since you woke up have you?"

Shaking her head, Danae sort of looked down in shame.
She was all guilty now! Great.
"Yeah, we probably should.. And Reno.."

Looking back up to him, she sort of had that look.. The puppy dog eyes look.
"Do you think Teseng will let me stay with you again tonight..?"
OH! How she hoped he would.. And maybe now, he'd allow her that.
They seemed to have come to somewhat of a truce, a level point, an understanding.
He really wasn't all that bad..

He held it back....he really did...well...not as much as he should, but Reno couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Danae, with those eyes, Teseng would let you do whatever you wanted, he acts tough, and can be, but most of the time, he's really a giant pushover." OH what Teseng would do to him if he heard that one....it was the biggest fib Reno had probably ever told in his life, but he figured after a few pleads and logical arguments, Teseng would give in...he always did when faced with logic....it was Reno's greatest weapon he had against him...and besides that....he do anything, even play dirty if it meant keeping Danae safe.

Smiling slightly, Danae had indeed, been a bit surprised to see Reno suddenly so happy like that. But smiling was not the matter at hand!
"Do you really think so..?" She asked him.

She was hoping so, praying so! Maybe tonight would go better, and she wouldn't get murdered the next morning or something..
Teseng would just have to let her! She'd get down on her knees, cling to his legs, and cry if she had to!

Reno nodded, empahtically this time.
"I'm sure of it, now go on, I'm sure that side of yours is killing you about now isn't it?" He chuckled a little thinking how she looked when she was as excited as she seemed to be now, and how her whole body did this little...waggle might not have been the best word, but it was close enough.
"I'll go let him know before he gets too impatient about you not showing up." He smiled and started down the hall.

Nodding, Danae nearly took off down the hall, back towards the room Rude had been in. And there he was still, cleaning up.

Stepping through the door, she smiled slightly, and shut it behind her.
"Hey again.." She said, hobbling back over to him. "yeah..so...I guess I'm not leaving.."
Making this sort of face, she shrugged.
"Sorry for getting your hopes up like that.."

He turned and quirked an eyebrow.
"Hnn, and here I thought I'd gotten rid of you." He smiled.
"Nice to see he got to you before you left." He shook his head.
"I was about to strangle him if he didn't go after you." Rude chuckled and gently ruffled her hair.
"You're like a bad fungus...you're starting to grow on me kid."

Well, at least she was growing on him, and he didn't quite hate her yet..
Trying to laugh bit, Danae failed, and clutched her side.
"Ow.."
Reno was most likely correct. She'd probably hurt herself in some way. She just wasn't keen on that yet.

Wrapping her arms around Rude suddenly, she smiled. "And you aren't the worst either.. Even if you are bald."
Uhhp! There it was again.

He scoffed. Oh well, he'd let it slide.....this once. Rude looked down patting her shoulder.
"Been up to no good huh?" He said with a knowing glance at her side.
"Here, you take it easy and I'll get out of here so you won't be bothered." He lay aside a few more things that were scattered about and then headed for the door.
"And just my luck that idiot's gone and busted himself up pretty well too hasn't he?" He shook his head.
"Just my luck." With that he cut out the lights and closed the door.

"So..she's staying then?"
"Yeah, I sent her back to the room she was in, so there's no need to haul her anywhere." Tesneg rubbed the bridge of his nose....oh well...at least his jurisdiction wasn't in a state of dissaray now.
"Just don't do anything stupid like you did the last time, alright?"
"You got it boss man." With a serious need for a drink driving him, Teseng left without another word.

(Oh my God. My favorite role play of the week, and I fall asleep on the computer..)


Laughing slightly, Danae nodded, and headed for the door after Rude. Again, if was more than a hobble than anything, but it worked.
And of course, Reno was no where in sight, taking his sweet time to get where he needed to go..

As they began their walk, Danae stayed silent, and glanced around at all of the walls and whatever. There really wasn't much else to look at, considering most of the building looked silver... All silver...

And soon enough, after a few more moments with nothing but footsteps, they made it. Finally!

Danae practically flung herself onto the bed, and grinned widely, to see eveyrtyhing in its old spot.
"Mmmmm- Thank you Rude," she said, smiling. "I guess I'll have to start being nice to you more often."
