Crap..... At this rate, depending on what was going to happen to the both of them, he might end up having to sling Danae off him just to be able to defend her...He sighed silently, and settled back.
Better to die in the arms of the one he loved than not. He let his other hand slip back into her hair and his mouth slid into a lazy smile.
"So...what's the first thing you want to do when we get back?" He asked.

With no hesitation, she grinned. "Eat," she told him. She had a feeling that is what he would want to do too.. granted that they just run off to her apartment. "Well, if we go to my place." She had a feeling they would, too, if not simply for that one, simple fact.

Her smiled fading after a moment, she pursed her lips. "Why do you suppose they want to see me?" She asked.

"Mmm...Eating sounds good...Especialy if you're cooking." He grinned and then sighed.
"I honestly don't have any idea.....I was hoping maybe you could clear that up once we're finished here." He looked down at her.
"But I suppose you're just as lost as me.."

She didn't feel like talking happily anymore, and sighed as well. "I honestly don't know why they would want to speak with me. I have no idea who 'mother' is, and I don't care about something that happened years ago." So very happy and bright, ahhhh, Danae.

"I just want all of this to be over with.." But she didn't want to be over with Reno.. that was obvious.

Reno looked at her, his head cocked.
"Mother? ....do you think they mean JENOVA?" Strange, and stranger. Reno figured that might be what they were after, that's why Rufus had taken the last remains of the Calamity with him on his trip...but what did Danae have to do with all that?

Danae shrugged, and then, there was a brief knock on the door. Before Danae could even look up, it slammed open, and in stormed Kadaj. Apparently, Yazoo had been knocking, because he was still standing there, fist raised to the air.

Kadaj smirked at the two, and then crossed his arms. "Aww, look who it is. I'm surprised you're not dead yet."

Danae had a feeling that telling Kadaj to be nice, or cut it, wasn't going to work out very well..

Reno smirked from his position and even had the gall to wave a slight 'hello'.
"Well, if it isn't shorty from the other day, how've you been, I'm fine thanks for asking." He scoffed.
"As if the likes of you three could kill me, pfft, it's going to take a lot more than you've got to do that job."

And naturally, Reno couldn't behave, like any normal, sane person with normal hair color, and a decent body structure could do. No. He had to be Reno, and try to run his mouth, to get his ass kicked.

She shook her head at him gently, squeezing his hand. 'No', she mouthed at him, before sitting up, and glancing at Kadaj. "What?" She asked him, a tinge of bitterness to her voice.

"It won't be long now.." He said simply. "He's almost ready now.. we just.. Mother.." His voice trailed off, and he looked to the floor. "We know that you have what we need.. We just.. you need to stop lying to him."

He rolled his eyes at her and sighed.
"Fine." He whispered.
"I'll be good."
Reno's head almost snapped with the force that he looked at Danae.
"What's he talking about?" He turned to Kadaj not waiting for an answer.
"What are you talking about? Isn't this about the Calamity JENOVA?"

(No.......... XD Yes. *huggles* I think it's just cause my birthday is in like, three days, and I'm excited. XD)

"Oh.. So you mean, she didn't tell you?" He asked, smirking as the girl's eyes filled with fear.
"Please, don't," she said, suddenly in tears. She knew that the magnitude would most likely blow Reno way, way, wayyyyyyyy out of the picture.. "Please!" She cried, crawling off of Reno, and getting to her knees.

Kadaj smirked. "I'm going to take that as a 'no'."

Reno stood to his feet when Danae left, angry, not because she hadn't told him something, but because Kadaj had made her cry.
"Get off it." He said growling.
"Whatever it is, she can tell me, you stay out of it!" .....suddenly his promise to be good...didn't seem as much a promise....but a suggestion.

(:sarcasm: I never said that.)

Kadaj smirked. "But oh, you see, it very much has to do with why she is here.. She even knows why she's here. Danae certainly is a very good liar, don't you think?" He asked, crossing his arms.

Danae was mentally furious, with her fists clenching, and her body sobbing. She didn't know what to did to stop him.

((*head hang* oh.......*cry* *perks back up* At least you're talking to me again YAYYYY!!!!))

"No." Reno stood, arms crossed, glaring at all three of them.
"She's nothing like that, not to me. She could have done all the things that you three've done, or worse, and she'd still be Danae!" He narrowed his eyes.
"Because that's who she is, she's Danae, the girl I met at a bar when I was flat-drunk, the girl who I got in a fight for, the girl I brought home the next day, the girl that Teseng actually talked to, and the girl that made Rude do stupid crap just to make her feel better. THAT'S Danae."

Kadaj shook his head. "You're so gullible. Do you really think it was mere coincidence that you two met, and that she just so happened to have full access to the entire compound?"

What was he even doing now? It was coincidence.. She had no idea what he was even saying.

"Or the fact that everything seems to be tied to her, and us... and Jenova?" He swiftly jerked Danae by the arm, from the floor.
"Why don't you tell him yourself, Danae? Tell him why we need you so badly.."

She shook her head and cried.

"Tell him how everything you've ever said to him, is a lie.."

((YAYYY!!! *glomps* *happy cry*))

Reno glared at him.
"Don't care." Yeah, call him gullible all you want...Reno knew what Reno knew, and he was bull-headed enough to believe in it and it alone.
"Don't you hurt her!" He cried taking a step forward.
"bastard!" He crooked a hand on his hip and scoffed.
"Who cares about that Mako well? All I care about is getting Danae as far away from here as possible, so how about you do what you need to and let us get out of here." Reno looked over at Danae, his expression softening.
"Danae....do you have to cry so much? Little moron....you know I can't stand it when you cry like that."

Well, there was Reno, making her feel better.. Right. Like when has that ever happened.

"Oh, but you see," Kadaj said, with Loz and Yazoo stepping in between them. "Danae isn't leaving."

Danae had counted on that one from the very beginning. Besides, what they wanted, didn't involve her survival anyway.. She just wished that he wasn't going to find out like this.

"Danae isn't like a normal, human," he began, her sobs growing louder. "Danae is.. special.. You see, whether or not the resemblance, Danae is somewhat--" He let out a yell, as Danae had bit his hand. From there, it all went downhill, with Kadaj backhanding her, Yazoo gasping, and Loz raising his eyebrows in shock. They never thought he would have done that to her.

((*squees*))

"Don't care again!" Reno cried over Kadaj's screams. The backhand was just the distraction he'd needed from the beginning.
He raced over to Danae and pulled her up.
"Run!" He cried shoving her towards the open door, pulling out his pistol kept hidden away giving her cover fire.

Danae gasped, and then, was pulled through the entrance. And firm, gloved hand slipped across her mouth, and she gasped, wide eyed. Everyone was wide eyed, say for Kadaj, who was smirking.

"Well, well, well.." Said a smooth voice. And in walked the terror of terrors, with Danae, stopping a few feet from all of them. "Who started the party without me?"

Danae was well beyond terrified. If he was already here.. why did they need her?! What did they plan on doing now?!

Reno stopped short, falling flat on his face in front of Danae and the newcomer. His eyes double in size as he looked up the black coat and found the chisled face....
"No way...." His blood ran cold and for a moment...Reno thought he'd died and that this.....was surely hell.

Danae cried still, and the taller, paler figure smiled toward Reno. "Hi there," he said in his ever sadistic tone.

Loz and Yazoo bowed their heads with respect, and then, Danae was released, pushed into Reno's direction. She gasped, and clung to the red head now, tighter than ever before.

"Did you miss me?"

Reno glared, hanging onto Danae as she fell against him.
"How can I miss you if you don't go away." He growled, all but covering Danae's body with his own...one of them was getting out of this alive.

Sephiroth chuckled quietly, and very.. it just sounded horrible too. "That is true.." He said in almost a whisper. He sighed, and then brushed a bit of hair from his face.
"But I am afraid I will need her back, in a bit.."

Danae didn't like this.. this wasn't going to end well at all, and she knew it right down to the very core.. "Reno.." She whispered to him softly.

Reno growled.
"For what?" He asked menacingly......as if he was any kind of threat....but that was just how he worked....defiant to the end.
"Shhh..." He said, holding her there.
"You're going to be fine....I'll make sure of that."

"Why do you think?" He asked, crossing his arms gently. He never really liked Reno very much.. he was always such a fool. And now, he was just proving that fact more, now, with this girl.

"I'm not worried about myself," she argued into his ear gently. "I don't want anything to happen to you.." He could do so much better than her.. he really could.

"I don't know, why don't you elighten this poor TURK as to your intentions? Or is that too much for you to handle?"
He smiled at her.
"Relax, I told you, it'll take more than these morons to kill me, besides, I'm going out like a man, big explosion and leaving a pretty corpse...I doubt any of them know a thing about that, so I can't die here."
