"Because I'll just vanish into the night. You'll be lucky if you ever see me again," he replied loudly, though the helmet and the wind rushing past muffled it.

Yume_no_Yume 05-14-2008 03:02 AM

"Hmph, I happen to use the shadows, so the absence of one alerts me. And forever is a long time to go without knowing names to dream with," she said loudly, hoping her voice wouldn't be snatched away.

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 03:05 AM

"I have a shadow, but it obeys me, not other shadow tamers," he called back, chasing the car containing his brother. He was less than a yard behind it's rear bumper.

((For my new character i'm going to do the same as cricket and use diff colours. So Adalia will be my usual default text, and Elizabeth will be this brown/sienna colour since no one else seems to be using it.))

After finishing her ordeal with Linton Connor, the female reaper, Adalia Caelius, decided to lay down on a roof of a building as she stared up at the stars.

In the short lifespan of a human the vision of a night sky was fairly constant, discounting the rare shooting star or two. But of course, as with everything on this physical plane, the stars in the sky are affected by time. Right now, as Adalia looked up at the countless pinpoints of light, she knew that this light had travelled from lightyears away. For all she knew, any of these stars could be long and dead, with the only hint being the moment that the light went out. However, as with the countless memories that reside in a being, if it wasn't paid attention too it would slowly fade away and be forgotten forever.

Bringing her pocket watch above her face the reaper absentmindedly said, "Past 2 already."

Existing for the sole purpose of death of course stirred up memories of ones' own experience. However, this was a mystery for the reaper herself. She had to wonder whether she forgot her own death because of time or whether it had been something that her subconscious chose to forget.

While Adalia did not mind being by herself for so long, the one thing that bothered her was all the strange thoughts that came to her mind when she wasn't distracted by anything else.

---
Normally, at this time of night a normal person would be sleeping soundly in bed. But no matter how much she needed the sleep, Elizabeth Adner could not have it.

It had been about 2 weeks since the death of Terrance Fisher, the classmate that she so admired. Whenever she closed her eyes she saw the image of his smiling face, the image of his kind and gentle soul. When she had first met him it was the beginning of a new world, but with his death she felt like that world had ended.

"So how can I..." she asked herself "...continue to live in this one?"

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 04:15 AM

((Damnit, Phantom and Yume vanished... I kinda need them to reply. >.< ))

True Jelly Oh! 05-14-2008 04:41 AM

((That too.))

Brodie hardly flinched when the cat became a man sitting on his desk. He did wonder for a second if it was normal to be expecting these things to be happening, but the feeling passed soon enough. "And," he continued, "you forgot the part where you're still here." He gave the man an inquisitive look, he was sure he the man was fed up with him by now.

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 04:45 AM

"I'm here because Andrew's going to want my head one way or another," he replied, shooing away the remaining embers of his fire, watching them fade into nothingness.

"I'm a shadow tamer, much like that reaper girl. I slipped back inside through the shadows. Zaitsu went and ruined my escape. If he knew how to fucking land right I wouldn't be here, and he would be. I'd be back in my nice warm bed with my cat."

Fullmetal Phantom 05-14-2008 06:58 AM

Kohaku continued driving along, desperately wanting to be able to go a little faster...but for one of the same reasons as he wanted to ignore the speed limit, he couldn't.

His anxiety finally got the better of him, though. Really, if anything went wrong, the average cop would more likely think himself to be insane than write a ticket. There was no one nearby...he had to get moving faster. Sighing deeply, he leaned forward and stepped harder on the gas pedal, his mind focused only on the street names and the road.

Before long, he could see the apartment complex. Now his mind shifted to another little issue - how was he going to get in and run an unconscious winged man up to one particular apartment, without being seen or collapsing from overexertion? He desperately hoped someone would be able to help...though the way things had been going so far, it seemed like he had a pretty good chance of working everything out.

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 07:07 AM

He couldn't help but smirk a little; the man driving the car hadn't even noticed the motorcycle at its heals. He sped up, overtaking the car and passing on the driver's side. His hair trailing behind him should've made it easy for anyone to recognize him.

He quickly vanished into the parking garage, driving up several levels and skidding into a parking spot between a Pontiac G6 and a Dodge Neon; oddly, there was just over enough room between the two vehicles for his bike to park. Then again, there always was enough room by the Neon, as it belonged to his brother and they were in the habit of parking together.

He jumped off the bike, no longer concerned with what the reaper who'd come with him did. He pulled off his helmet and hurried into the elevator. Making his way to Andrew's floor, he raced down the hallway to the proper door, pulling out a set of keys from his pocket and struggling to unlock it to let himself in.

Once the door was unlocked, he rushed into the apartment and down the hall. "Andrew!" he called, out of breath. "Wake up!"

Fullmetal Phantom 05-14-2008 07:26 AM

Kohaku noticed the motorcycle as it passed him, immediately recognizing the man riding it...somehow or another, he was expecting something roughly like that to happen. He took it as a sign to follow him into the parking garage.

He pulled into the nearest empty space, across from where the man had parked his motorcycle. He opened the door and stepped out, now only wondering how he was going to get this man inside...especially when it seemed likely he would have to pull him out without damaging the car next to him.

Meanwhile, Hideto had been abruptly woken by the shouting. "ORE WA SATSUMA IMO JA NAI!" he cried as he jolted up, then slapped his forehead in embarrassment, greatly thankful no one was likely to understand what he'd just said. But as he realized that the screaming outside sounded very panicked...he began to panic as well. He leaped up and ran to the door, looking out at the man who was screaming for Andrew to wake up...what was he so panicked about? He was starting to worry a bit...whether it involved him or not, it didn't seem like it could be anything good.

((I'll be right back...just remembered some stuff I forgot to pack. o-o;;

Oh, and he just shouted "I AM NOT A SWEET POTATO!" Yeah...his non-flashback dreams are weird. XD))

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 07:38 AM

Andrew's bedroom door opened, a very tired and once again different looking Andrew stepping out into the hall. His hair was relatively short, and he looked much younger than he had the last time he'd been awake in front of Hideto. He looked just barely older than Zaitsu.

"What happened?" he asked groggily, rubbing the side of his pale face.

"Zaitsu fell from a window at some boy's house. His wings grew and, and, humans saw him like that!!!" He looked desperately afraid.

"Great," Andrew groaned, heading back into his room.

He reached out and grabbed Andrew by the arm, pulling him back out into the hall. "A human has Zaitsu and came here. He should be in the garage by now."

"He can't bring Zaitsu up here... What about the cameras!?" he hissed, his eyes widening.

"Right. On it," he said hurriedly, nodding a little and turning to run back out into the hallway outside the apartment.

Andrew sighed and went back into his room, pulling on a plain white t-shirt and grabbing a blanket from his bed. Out in the hallway, his bright eyes glanced at Hideto. "Stay here. Lock yourself in my room until I come back," he instructed, heading for the door out to the hallway.

((By the way, Andrew's room is black, as is his bedding and the furniture. Remember, the color black really doesn't suit him.))

Fullmetal Phantom 05-14-2008 08:40 AM

Hideto nodded and began heading for Andrew's room, hoping he wouldn't end up falling asleep on the floor...this had been a very long day, and it was getting to be an even longer night. He was beginning to wonder just how many crazy things could happen in 24 hours...it felt like this had to be some kind of record, at least where a single human was exposed to it.

As he closed the door, he couldn't help but notice the color of everything...this was bizarre, very definitely so. He was finally learning to expect the unexpected...but nope, this was still unexpected, even for this place at this time. Everything all black...it was rather eerie under the circumstances.

Still, he trusted that he was best off here.

Thankful that with Andrew's guidance he'd nearly mastered several elements, Amani rushed down to the garage, emitting an electric charge from his body to short out the surveillance cameras.

Andrew followed Amani closely, making it down to the garage in no time. It didn't take long for his oddly colored eyes to fall upon the man standing next to a car with a look of concerned uncertainty on his face.

Taking a slightly deep breath, Andrew made his way over to him, stepping past him and reaching into the car. He folded Zaitsu's wings behind him and gently wrapped him in the blanket, before lifting him up and pulling him from the car. Considering that his body was currently just barely larger than Zaitsu's, one could wonder how he could lift the unconscious man.

"This way," he said softly, carrying Zaitsu to the elevator. Luckily, the blanket hid the wings should they encounter anyone.

Amani, who'd been watching Andrew without a sound, followed him like a cat following his owner, an almost emotionless expression on his face.

Fullmetal Phantom 05-14-2008 09:26 AM

Kohaku followed along, not quite sure what he should do at this point...and even more confused by what he was watching. This man definitely didn't look like someone who could lift someone that size...it was rather shocking.

He began to wonder...he didn't know much about any of these people, but that voice DID sound familiar, and he DID seem to be acting the part...was this the man he had spoken to earlier? He began questioning whether or not he should ask.

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 09:31 AM

Once to the right floor, he carried the unconscious man to a particular door, reaching out and opening it while still holding Zaitsu. Slipping inside, he laid him down on one of the couches and pulled the blanket away.

"You can come out now," he called to Hideto.

Amani silently stepped into the apartment, taking a seat on the arm of the couch at Zaitsu's feet, watching his brother with concern on his face.

((EDIT: I need to restart my computer. God I hope you come back so we can finish this before you leave. >.< ))

((EDIT #2: Hey Yume, you gonna post? ^_^ She could follow him back up to the apartment the second time. ;;>.>...))

Yume_no_Yume 05-14-2008 11:48 AM

Tessan has stayed hidden with her shadows, contemplating what he had said about his shadow only obeying him. She had sat sideways on the bike as they took the person who had fallen out of the window up the elevator. Boredom and curiosity got the best of her and she followed moments later when the elevator returned.

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 11:58 AM

Andrew's eyes were glowing, as were his hands as he ran them up and down Zaitsu's body, seeking out his injuries. The look on his face was rather blank as he set about his task.

Amani watched with a sad and worried look on his face. Now that he and the winged man were close enough, it could be seen that their facial structure slightly resembled each other; though Zaitsu looked a little younger than twenty-one, and Amani looked a little older than seventeen.

((The apartment door is slightly open so when Kohaku sees it he'll know to go inside. Tessan will be able to see the open door as well. -NodNod-))

Yume_no_Yume 05-14-2008 12:02 PM

Now Tessan was stuck. She didn't know what floor they had gone to, so she couldn't really follow them. She could just press a random button, but that would take too long, to search every floor. Pouting in frustration, she sat cross legged on the floor of the elevator.

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 12:06 PM

((Andrew's apartment is on the fifth floor. I don't know what to reply with yet until she shows up there. Mainly because I want to see what happens when she realizes that Amani and Zaitsu are brothers. X3 ))

Yume_no_Yume 05-14-2008 12:18 PM

{{xD Alright, random button pressing time it is}}

A new feeling, that of determination, pulled Tessan to her feet and she struck out with her finger, jamming it a little on the button number five. Sticking her sore finger into her mouth, she waited until it reached the floor and stepped out. "Whoo, this is going to be tough," she said quietly to herself, breathing out heavily. She could sense where the shadows were, and she was hoping that the 'son of shadows' was without his, making a wide sweep, feeling out. "Ahah!" she cried out triumphantly, running towards the door where she knew he was. She breathed out again, having to do something she didn't like-moving through the shadows. She had to concentrate as she felt herself shift through the door, sticking to the shadows, stopping when she saw the two boys together. She smiled and shook her head. 'Of course, brothers. That's why he was so concerned," she thought, leaning against the wall, still concealed by the shadows.

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 12:23 PM

((You made it seem like the door was closed. T___T ))

Electric blue eyes turned toward the reaper in the shadows, blinding light illuminating her hiding place. "If you enter, you enter as a human, not as a reaper," he said, a slightly dangerous look on his face.

"Leave her, I lead her here," Amani replied quietly, his eyes never leaving his brother. "His neck is broken, isn't it...?"

"Along with dozens of other bones," he replied with a sigh, shifting his gaze back to Zaitsu. "He's lucky he's not human. He wouldn't have survived if he were."

Yume_no_Yume 05-14-2008 12:28 PM

{{xD I forgot to ask if it was or not. He was pushed right? I think I remember reading that ;_; I can fix it if he wasn't...I think.}}

When the blue eyed man turned his back, she stuck her tongue out at him and followed to stand beside them. "So, actually, he was kinda pushed out of the window, by the way. He doesn't really seem like the kind to fall out of them, does he?" she said, looking at the one on the couch, her eyes slightly sad.

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 12:43 PM

((Well, I kinda said earlier that the door was open. Also, for future reference, Andrew isn't an idiot. There are many spells and enchantments that keep unwanted reapers out of his home.

And yeah, Zaitsu was pushed from the window.))

"He's a klutz, but windows aren't his bane. Usually it's stairs," Amani replied with a sigh.

Andrew placed his hands over Zaitsu's heart, the glowing growing brighter. His hair wavered around his head as though blown by an unseen breeze that only affected him, the strands growing longer as he expelled his energy into the winged man.

After several long moments, his hair was past his hips; his human appearance once again gone, leaving him with the elf-like ears and four long, sharp canine teeth that he'd had earlier before a decent amount of sleep. He looked like he was in his mid-thirties now, his body a bit larger. His eyes were slitted like a snake's, though their color didn't change.

"Andrew!" Amani cried softly, hurrying forward to catch the blond as he collapsed. "He was really hurt that badly...?" he asked quietly, easing Andrew to the floor and crouching behind him, letting the man's weight fall upon him.

Zaitsu's eyes slowly opened halfway, staring up at the ceiling in a unfocused, disoriented manner. His entire body ached and throbbed, though not nearly as badly as it had less than an hour ago. He wondered if he'd somehow managed to get to a safe place...

Yume_no_Yume 05-14-2008 06:55 PM

{{O_o Like, for reference so I don't think he is, or did what she did make it seem like she thought he was an idiot, because she was just like 'bleh, I was trying to hide'}}

Tessan smiled softly as the one on the couch opened his eyes slightly, seeing as how the other was busy with Andrew. "Hey," she said quietly, bending down to a crouch beside the couch. "Feeling better?"

Insane Cricket 05-14-2008 11:34 PM

He winced a bit as he tried to sit up a little and failed, sending a painful sensation through his body.

"You're going to hurt for a while," Amani said softly, easing Andrew down to the floor and standing back up to sit on the couch beside Zaitsu.

"You were hurt pretty badly..."
