{{-hasn't posted in forever- =D Oh, and I'm not sure if reapers sleep...but they do now =D}}
Tessan awoke with a jolt, falling backwards off of the swing into the sand. "Ouch," she said, rubbing her back as she sat herself up. By the feel of her face, she realized she must have fallen asleep leaning against the swing chain. Sighing as she got up and stretched, she yawned, looking side to side to make sure no other supernatural being had seen her. Seeing no one around, Tessan decided to walk around the park, still ignoring the list in her pocket. As she walked, she played with the shdows around her feet, making it appear as if she had vines around her ankles. |
He smiled softly, lowering his head a little. "I didn't doubt whether or not you saw me. What was it? I saved you. Your name was on the list, so I saved you. The other boy, he tried to push you out of the way. He was here not long ago, I don't know if he's left yet or not-" His eyes widened in realization of something and he smacked his forehead.
Whipping out his cellphone, he stepped out of the room to make a quick call to Shozii. Grumbling, he hung up his phone and he walked over to the register in the cafeteria. He borrowed a pen and a small piece of paper, writing down two phone numbers. Walking back to Hideto, he held out the piece of paper to him. "Andrew wanted me to give this to you. He said to call if you have any questions, or get a weird feeling about something. The first number is his home number, the second is his cell." He thought for a moment, considering something. "Hold on," He went back to the register to borrow the pen again, then wrote down his own cell number. Going back to the boy, he held it out again. "You're my reap, so call me the same way you'd call Andrew. He wants you alive? Fine. But I'm sure as hell not going to let another reaper take you." Tucking his phone back into his pocket, he stepped back into the room, letting out a soft sigh. "Alright, now that that's been taken care of..." he began. He pulled out a business card from the chest pocket of his white coat, along with a pen. He jolted down a few numbers on the back of the card, then handed it to Brodie. "If you can't contact me, then call the other man's cell that I wrote for you. He'll contact me. On the front of the card is how to contact me here at the hospital. On the back, the top number is my cell, the next is my home, and the one after that is Shozii's cell. Call me if you ever get any strange feeling about something, if you start feeling uneasy, or if you have anymore questions. If you can't get hold of me, call Shozii." He sat down in a chair next to Brodie's bed, leaning back and staring up at the ceiling. "I might as well tell you what the dragon was... It wasn't the actual dragon, it was just the projection of the dragon emitting from my body as I used it's strength. If I'd actually turned into a dragon, there would've been more damage. I couldn't risk that, or the lives of the people nearby. I'm sure you've already figured out that I'm not like you-" He was interrupted by his cellphone ringing loudly. He answered it quickly with a simple, "Yeah?" The call was extremely short, the phone in his pocket again in less than a minute. "I've been informed that your parents are here. They should be up here shortly." Once again, something revolving around him went off, though it wasn't his pager or his phone. Instead, a soft beeping sound was coming from he underside of his right wrist, though hidden by the sleeve of his coat. He pulled the sleeve back and turned his wrist upwards to look at the time and turn off the beeping. The watch itself looked to be a perfectly normal analog watch - none of the bells or whistles of a digital watch - though it had three knobs instead of only two. Two knobs where on the right side of the face, the third on the left. "Ah. Shift's over." He put his hand down, his sleeve falling over the watch again. "Would you like me to stay until your parents come up here?" ((Sorry it's so long, but I kinda like how it worked out. My computer crashed twice wile I was writing this post, and amazingly every time I restored my old session with firefox, this post was still intact. Thank god. I don't think I could've rewritten this twice. @[email protected] )) |
Brodie took the card and looked at it for a second, he was glad he had more than a name to go off of now. Though, 'if you get a strange feeling about something...' He wasn't sure how exactly to define a 'strange feeling,' and lately uneasiness had become normal for him. He wanted to ask about that and about whoever Shozii was, but he didn't want to interrupt Cozu's explanation.
Oh well, it was interrupted anyway. So soon? He realized then that they would've hurried over here as fast as they could. That only ascertained his guess that they would be worried sick that they'd lose another son. Now he felt confused and guilty. "Um, could you?" he answered Cozu's question quickly, "There was something else- the list you said? What's that? Like one of those?" he gestured at the chart in Cozu's hand. |
He looked down at the chart and laughed softly. "No. Not this kind of list. A reaper's list. You were supposed to die today," he said, sitting down again and resting the chart in his lap.
He knew the boy's parents would be a little while; the paperwork process always took longer than it should. |
"I-I'm sorry?" I misheard him, I must have just misheard him, even while he thought the words, he knew- "I was....supposed to die."
He blinked several times, "No, that-that can't be. I should be dead then, like Terry." A thought hit him, hard, "If you saved me- and that other boy too, then, then- what about my brother? Terry, Terrance Fisher! Couldn't he have been saved as well?!" He looked down at his hands, they were shaking, "I shouldn't be alive. I don't deserve this, not like Terry did." He looked at Cozu, unable to find the words to explain how much more his brother could've done than he. |
"I can't save everyone. I can't be everywhere at once. That's just the hand fate deals. If you want to blame me, then blame me. But don't you ever doubt your potential."
((Phaaannnttttooooom! I saw you there lurking, and checking out my DA account. But alas, I can't stay online any longer for a while. Damn. I was hoping you'd post and I could reply before I left. Anyways, back in a few hours or so. Later. Oh yeah. Check out the reply I left in the OOC topic. Later.)) |
((HOPEFULLY....this is more to your likeing?))
Misawa looked down at her list once more, "hmmm...I suppose the best place to start my search would be with these two, though from my reccords there are others as well." She closed her eyes for a moment to think, where were they, they had to be around here somewhere. But where? She looked down at her list, if they where still dieing it'd be easy.... She looked at the list some more, well if she where here anyways she might as well do some reaping right? She looked down at the this, "Kelly Morrison and Dirk Bitly" she headed in the direction of the hospital where both where set to die shortly. A husband and wife who had been in the crash together. She rolled her eyes, how sappy and mushy, and totally annoying, they where better off dead anyways. She stopped at the door to the hospital wing and hesitated. Well it was probably better to stay hidden anyways. She walked through the doors and headed towards the upper floors where her current victims where being laid to rest. She walked through the halls careful not to tread on anyones toes, she was invisible but still able to be toched. Seemed the hospital was rather busy today, must be alot of people sick and dyeing. That suited her only too well. If she was lucky she might even find a clue to her own job. |
((Umm...the post seems fine to me.))
"Brodie Fisher, Hideto Fujiwara, and Linton Conner still remain for today." Adalia mumbled to herself as she looked over her list. ((OOC: This is how i write a flashback)) After her chat with that odd orange-eyed, bronze-skinned man Adalia decided to finish her job she left from the morning. Without taking any detours she went straight to Geoffry Johnson's room."Hmm...seems like the woman from the crash this morning has already departed and so has Kendra Feren, and the girl...I think her name was Evie. And with Geoffry that's at least five today." she said to herself as she reviewed today's list. The lightened names of the three men mentioned earlier didn't concern her for if the other reapers in the town were anything like her then, well, let's just say she didn't mind it. For some reason she again found herself by the roadside memorial of the young man who had a silk rose as company. Making sure no one else was around she picked a nearby flower and laid it next to the other. "There another friend for you." she said as if in reply to someone. Making her way to the park, she passed by two boys, one who seemed deathly white. "Daniel, you look like you've seen a ghost." the other said to him. "Its nothing." he replied. She paused for a moment at the mention of 'ghost' but when they walked straight past her she thought no more of it. Finding a comfortable looking oak tree she sat against it and closed her eyes. |
((Sorry for not replying earlier; I was a little...distracted today. Minor writer's block as a result. And I have a long day at work tomorrow...so I won't be on much. Just a heads-up.))
Hideto took the paper and nodded, not entirely knowing what to say. The entire situation was overwhelming...was there a normal way to react to this at all? After a short delay, he managed to speak again, still questioning whether or not it was the right thing to say...but hey, it was a pretty extraordinary situation. "Thank you...I...I think..." he said, his voice shaking slightly. Suddenly he realized he'd left his guitar in the children's ward...and grew very thankful of the fact that it wasn't his good one that he brought. Though he felt very uncomfortable about returning to that place...he had to go back and fetch it. With the...situation the way it was, though, he felt a bit uncomfortable about the elevator. Taking the stairs was probably a good idea. |
((Seems like a good place to have her bump into him xP))
She looked around her, it was still two floors up from where she stood. She looked over to the elevator and sighed, it was far to crowded for her to pull it off without bumping into at least one person. Looked like the stairs it was. She headed towards the stairs and began to climb. On her way up she noticed she was not the only one who had desided to take the stairs. In fact there was one other about the place. She staired at him for a moment, there was something about his demeanor, something odd about him but she couldn't place her finger on it....was he one of the ones who had been supposed to die? Brodie? Or perhaps Hideto? Either one really. She wondered perhaps if she should make her presence known to him. In her thinking she became distracted and did not realize that if she didn't move he was going to walk right into her. She continued to look at him, unsure if he was really one of them or not. ((I hope thats alright *sweat*)) |
"Whatever," was his cold reply. "I got to get going. Later,' he said, waving in a half-assed manned as he walked off. Halfway to his car, the hair on the back of his neck stood on end, and he turned to look back up at the hospital building.
'Kid's in trouble,' he thought with a sigh. Andrew was busy with the other boy. Brilliant. Now he was an accomplice to Andrew's bullshit. He turned and ran back towards the hospital, concealing himself so others wouldn't be alarmed by his rush. Quickly he bolted into the stairwell, making hardly any sound as he ran up the stairs. Soon, he was right behind Hideto, standing protectively behind him with a look on his face that clearly stated, 'touch him and die.' |
(( ))
Brodie looked away, "Potential..." he said the word the way he would've said, 'Algebra,' or the way old guys in a barber shop say the name of some candidate they don't like. "Terry had 'potential,'" he said under his breath, unsure whether or not Cozu could hear him. Brodie couldn't seem to communicate just how much everyone felt for his brother. Everyone knew Terry was going to do something great, he could've helped people, could've even been a doctor, he looked back at the doctor before him as the thought struck. "So, I'm alive. Now what?" this time he said it so that Cozu could hear. |
"Now? Now you live. Learn to be more careful, and hopefully go out and help others. Though of course, I can't make you. Freewill and all that," he replied with a sigh. He rested the back of his head against the back of the chair, his brightly colored eyes slipping closed.

Besnik flew down to Earth six months after his good friend Lily had become a guardian angel and had gone to Earth, so he did look forward to being reacquainted with her... Being in heaven without Lily had been lonely and even though this was his first time going to Earth he had heard many fascinating stories from The Elders that had made him very curious about Humans. Besnik still did not fully comprehend capitalism but he had heard gruesome stories concerning war and murder, so his heart was heavy with sorrow for the poor Earthly creatures. Also, The Elders had told him about Reapers... Another type of creature he had never met, but whom he was truly interested in... In Besnik's mind, death was not the end, but just another beginning...

She growled at him through gritted teeth when he gave her that look. He was interfereing with her, but at the same time it confirmed her theory that this was the one. She didn't speak for a moment but simply stared when she finally did speak it was with her same cocky arrogant way that had become know to her, "so so...a reaper turned to the good side....I never would have expected it to be one of the reapers....."
She glared at him again but did not go directly for an attack to the jugular. She would bide her time carefully, "what business do you have keeping him alive....surely you know how our boss gets....or are you one of the new ones?" Her voice was low and full of malace, she was faceing the reason she was no longer among the reapers, those who where soft hearted and couldn't take lives pissed her off to no end. |
((Better get to editing. Soon.))
"Heh, living seems to be a bit easier said than done," Brodie remarked absentmindedly. He then tilted his head quizzically, He's not....? It figured, Brodie could never tell if his brother was asleep or not either. Come to think of it, Cozu looked just a bit more like Terry with his eyes closed. He drew his legs in, leaning his head on his knees and closing his eyes as well. "But," this he said more to himself than anyone else, "I guess whoever deserves it more doesn't really matter now...I can live...maybe..for a while." |
((huh? Editing? Do you mean me? Is my post not good?))
|
(( o_o ))
Linton took a deep breath and took his first step out of the door since he checked into the hospital. It was just a few steps to the elevator, then the garage. How hard was it? He shifted his knapsack carefully from his injured shoulder to the other one. The doctor had promised him a safe passage to the awaiting car. Linton hoped he was right. |
((Ack! No, not you, Meko  I meant someone else, sorry! I'll remember to be more specific in my ooc.))
|
((lol, sorry, just alittle paranoid after having to change the last one twice I guess xP. I'm the kind of person who like tries to make everything fair and even and I was all like waaa when I was told I was godmoding and yeah...lol...rambling now...))

((Thanks for letting me join the RP, Jelly. I hope my first post is ok. :3))

"New? Forgive me princess, but I've been in this job longer than even your boss has been around. Gone soft? Hardly. There's something special about this boy, and my friend has taken an interest in him. Therefore, I'll abide by his wishes and protect the boy. Try anything, and you'll learn what it's like to die when you're already dead."
His voice had been cruel, his bright orange eyes glowing in his anger, showing that he wasn't playing around. He wasn't going to let some snot-nosed, cocky brat of a reaper go against Andrew's wishes. 'Idiots like this should just be sent to hell. What on Earth are other reapers thinking, letting pricks like this take souls?' he thought angrily to himself. His cellphone rang again, his hand pulling it out and tiredly placing it against his ear. "Yeah?" he asked, his voice betraying his exhaustion. He slowly lifted his head and opened his eyes. "Yes, I authorized his release. Yes. Alright. Make sure the garages are closed." He shut off his phone and put it back in his pocket and sighed. 'At least Linton Conner should be making it home safely. Everything's in order...' He covered his mouth and yawned lightly, though he wouldn't leave the boy until his parents arrived. After all, that's what he'd told him, and he was true to his word. "You should live regardless of whether you think you deserve it or not. You've been given another chance. If you don't feel you deserve it, then earn it." |
Hideto slowed down...something felt off. Very much off. It was like being blindfolded in a silent crowd - somehow, he could feel the presence of someone right in front of him...but he couldn't see anyone there. This may have made sense if his eyes were closed...but they weren't. He was looking directly at where he FELT like someone was standing...but he didn't see anyone there.
He decided it must have been his imagination and returned to normal speed for a split second, when suddenly he heard Shozii's voice. He stumbled backward in shock, but luckily managed to catch the handrail before he tumbled down the stairs. Well...at least this confirmed that apparently here was someone there...and given what he'd just heard, this didn't sound like good news. |
"Kid. Go find Andrew. Stay with him. He'll keep you safe," Shozii instructed, stepping between Hideto and the other reaper. He wasn't about to let anyone get to the boy; if Andrew wanted him alive, there was a reason for it.
|
Hideto nodded, so shocked by this event that he couldn't even think of how to speak. He rummaged through his pockets, searching for his cell phone as he ran down the stairs and through the hallway, when suddenly he realized he hadn't brought it for fear it'd cause interference with some of the machines. Great...just great. How was he supposed to find Andrew if he couldn't call?
He bolted toward the front desk, hoping he could use the phone there...or at least that he would be able to find a pay phone, or something. Or at least...toward where he thought the front desk was. Before 30 seconds had passed, it had become apparent that in his panic...somehow he'd gotten himself lost. He looked around him, trying to figure out where he was...unfortunately, being surrounded by identical patient rooms wasn't exactly too helpful. How did ANYONE ever figure out their way around these places? |
