Ani looked behind her at Shira, not saying anything, a tiny voice in her head said, let her be with her confidence. Ani nodded to no one in particular before walking in step with the group. Her mind was not with them and that was a dangerous thing for her to do. So she tried to focus on something else. "Phineas, how are you holding up with the stitches?" She asked with her warm smile. "I saw that you were eying the salve," She said with a laugh, "Are you hungry for something to eat?" She asked.

Shan's mood began to lift slowly with the sun, although many things kept bothering her. Micheal's presence was familiar, but she was sure he hadn't been a big part of her own life. Maybe part of the life of someone she knew? Still, she couldn't help but smile at the thought of Phineas taking the salve as food before anything else. She led them all towards a valley, and for the most part, they did not have to climb anything except the occasional middle-sized rock. They were getting closer, at least. Yuki looked at Phineas, wondering what his reaction would be if he had taken the salve as nourishment. Well, it did smell quite good... |
Kira nodded, grinding her teeth. She had calmed down, but was now feeling a bit stressed over Micheal. She agreed with Ani though, about having him here when they were fighting more creatures since there was some strength in numbers, but on the other hand he was already on bad terms with Shan. She sighed.

Shan turned slightly at the sound of Kira's sigh. "Is something the matter?" she asked. "Well, aside from my unusual temper I mean," she added, her cheeks a bit flushed with embarrassment. She knew that, more likely than not, she had caused someone to worry.

"You kids hungry?" Ari asked as Shan turned aside to tend to Kira's worries. His stomach was feeling a little empty as well, considering that after that lone peach last evening he has eaten nothing else. "Maybe I could try to do a bit of hunting... but I'm not sure if there would be much game around here. Can't someone have an eatable Nightmare?" He groaned slightly, fingering his throwing knife and casually tossing it into the air, catching the razor thin blade as it twisted down. He repeated the motion as he walked, looking about into the forest with alertness. "Like walking pancakes or a talking roasted duck?"

Kira shook her head. "Nah, it's nothing much. Just thought of something is all." She didn't want anyone to think she was too sad, though it seemed to show. She looked at Ari shrugging. She wasn't too hungry, but it might help ease some kinks. She wondered if nightmares could be eaten since they were tangible, but what were they made of?

As Shan waited for Kira's answer, she paid attention to Aris' question. "Well, I don't know about the talking roasted duck, but I walked into a cow once that kept telling me to eat it. It was funny the first time, but not any other time thereafter...and I don't really eat meat, so it got to a really disturbing point." Then Kira gave her answer, which Shan was not too sure about, but she did not press.

"Fire!" Demitra shouted, breathing heavily. She was sitting upright in a dark corner of the cave. Just a dream..or nightmare.. she thought, shivering. Demitra got up and walked out to the cave. "I can't believe I fell back asleep! I hope I didn't miss too much," she said to everyone. But she tilted her head a bit as she saw a new girl in the group. How long was she sleeping? Was she a friend? And why does it feel like she missed a huge part of this journey? ((xPP)) |

Ani smiled over at Demitra, "I was wondering when you would be joining us." She said. "Your were so tired, none of us wanted to wake you." She nodded as she straightened from leaning down to speak with Phineas, who didnt respond yet. She noticed the look on her face, seeing a new member. She took it upon herself to introduce them, "Demitra, this is Shira, she was lost in the woods and found us." Ani said. Micheal stopped for a moment, from under his leather coat he pulled out a canteen and took a long drink from the icy water. He hung it back on his waist and adjusted the bow on his back before continuing to walk. |

One from Phineas, another from Shan XD; ]] Yuki jumped at the sound of "Fire!". Heat was not good for him at all. In fact, it could kill him if he wasn't careful. Once he discovered that there was no such fire, he calmed down. Meanwhile, Shan was simply glad that at least one person had not been plagued by Micheal's interesting temperament. |
Demitra giggled at herself for being so tired. She waved at Shira and smiled. "Hey there," she greeted. "So, what else went down over here while I was asleep?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at the hole in a rock.

Kira turned around, seeing Demitra finally awake. So that's where she was the whole time. She started to feel hungry, wondering vaguely if there were any animals here. |

I keep forgetting to mention this, but your outfit looks a lot like what I originally designed for the dreamweaver XD. I say originally because I'm planning on tweaking it a bit (I haven't drawn set outfit in a year D8; ). My old art horrifies me. XD; Carne Asada.. *drool*]] "It might interest you to know that we will be entering a town soon. It's rather old-fashioned, and some people are missing... well.. let's just say that sometimes, a person's mind can not fully re-create a complete town, and so things are distorted or missing...." She remembered when she had first been startled by a person who was a perfect view from behind, but who has completely empty at the front. Staring into nothing was really disorienting. She forced herself to think about better things. "There will be food there, though." |

And OMG fox hat. I love foxes. They got my money >_< but I got hat! XD I was hanging with my artsy friend Alex today, she helped me out by designing an outfit for Phineas. i have a hard time with original outfits so all credit goes to her for how nice he looks in it. ^_^)) Phineas smiled at Ani. He was doing a pretty good job of keeping himself off the ground lately, probably his muscles were getting stronger. "The bandages help lots." he said, "but it IS... makes me want to scratch. Scratchy?" He tried not to drool at the thought of the sweet-smelling salve. "I could eat..." His voice trailed off, he didn't want to cause any more trouble. He was still embarassed to his toes about being caught so easily. The fact he didn't have his toes with him at the moment only goes to show HOW embarassed he was. He hoped that by being of no trouble for a while, it might cause everyone to forget the mishap. His stomach grumbled at the mention of other foods, making him feel more conspicuous than he wanted to feel. |

Awesome new costume *_*]] "Itchy," Shan corrected him. At the sound of his growling stomach, her smile grew wider. "Nearly there, dear Phineas," she stated. "I should change back, then..." Her white skin turned to peach again, her wings disappear, and her hair was once again a singe shade of violet. "I don't think we want to attract to much attention." |

Phineas wanted to sprint ahead of the group and get to the town faster, but all he could manage was a sort of awkward shambling run that ended in stubbing his fingers on a rock and "stepping" on some blackberry vines. He dropped back into formation and marvelled at Shan's transformation. "You can get that all back, yes?" he aked, worried. |

Shan looked at him and nodded. "My, you have a healthy appetite," she said, looking at him. She stared at his clothing, and thought, those can fall apart at any moment... Her mind wandered down a path she didn't want it to and she gave herself a mental shake. No. The last thing she needed was Phineas's clothes falling apart at any given moment. Yuki was more occupied with the thought of faceless people, but he didn't say much about it. He didn't want to think too much about it, either. |

Phineas probably wouldn't have the good sense to be mortified if his clothing DID fall apart. "It is healthy?" he asked, regarding his appetite, "I does not feel so." He couldn't remember the last time he'd eaten something... barring the blood he tried to suck out of the cloth earlier. But that hadn't helped much. |

He'll get some more gold eventually. XD]] "Well," said Shan, "there are buildings, and places to buy things. That's how we will get our food there. And... well... you, um.. need some clothes. I don't think those will last you much longer."Her mind kept showing her very interesting images, to say the least. Her cheeks were visibly red. She was not good with naked bodies, not even her own. |
"Buy?" That was a curious verb. He had no equivalent in his draconic vocabulary. He looked down at his clothes... cloth... and frowned at the brambles sticking to it. "What foods are there?" The hunger subdued the other questions he had.

Shan wondered about how she would explain buying to Phineas. "Buying is like trading things for something else of value, like money or gold." She then contemplated his second question. "There are many kinds of food. Fruits, vegetables, things that come from animals, and things that were once alive but no longer are." As she approached a cluster of small trees and bushes, she stopped. "We're here," she said, pushing her way through the narrow path. Some branches were too low for her taste. She pushed at what looked like a large piece of bark and stepped through into the light coming from the other side.
Yuki followed closely, not willing to be the last to step through. He and his mother were now at the edge of a different forest, and he could see a cluster of buildings and shacks in the distance. |
"Trading?" and more importantly, "GOLD? For something else?" What a strange, barbarian concept. He thought jealously of his small sack of gold, hidden from view in the folds of his clothing.
Phineas didn't have too duck to get through the low-hanging branches. The list of foods sounded amazing. His stomach clawed at him, begging to try some. He stopped at the edge of the clearing and stared happily at the town. Smells were stunning his synapses. He wasn't sure if he could make it to the town before eating the smells right off the wind. |
Shan laughed. What Phineas probably saw as absurd was something that was quite normal to most. "I'm sorry to say that you will not be able to eat without using some money or gold."
