[[basically, Shan ran off to get some supplies to make weapons for Phineas, and Yuki let out how old she is. They haven't gone up to the rooms yet or anything >w< ]]
|
Ani patted his hand near her, "Im sure you will do fine Ari." She said smiling as she finished the rest of her drink and sat back in the wooden chair. She listened to Phineas and Yuki speaking. She wasnt surprised to hear Shans age, she knew the woman was older than her looks let on.
(( I live in NYC...well Brooklyn, but thats only a train stop away from the city. XD And right now its stifling hot there. Its close to 100 degrees in the city these past days. *dies from heat* I hate summer. )) |
((OMg, it was definitely super hot every day that I was there. Blagh. I know this isn't true, but I don't think I've ever sweated that much aside from my marching band camp days. ))
Ari, unlike Demitra, wasn't so good with controlling his mouth. "Woah," he let out a soft gasp at Yuki's revealing of Shan's true age. Six thousand??!?! Realizing how rude it must've sounded, he hoped that the noises in the other areas helped to cover his small sign of surprise - not only to cover his lack of tact, but also the stupidity that he was feeling. Not everybody else seemed shocked... in fact, he was the only one who reacted in any remote way. Taking a look around the table, the young man made an observation that almost everybody was playing with their food. He grinned, and then tried to hide his expression and turned to Yuki once again. It wasn't until Demitra mentioned that Yuki was half of her age did he realize how young they both were, though he thought that the young boy acted surprising mature for his age, especially in comparison to the dragon-turned youth... thought that, Ari thought as his eyes traveled between the two, might due to his... inhuman nature. "How long is Shan going to take?" He remarked, for her absence seemed all the more marked suddenly as Layla began to make her move towards their small group once again. ((lol figured I'd bring her back... ahahaha. Not sure if I can, really, since she's NPC. But oh well. XD)) |
((Oh nono..your right. I only live in the borough and ever time I step outside, whether it be for a minute, Im sweat drenched. I have to head into college tomorrow for something and then I have to go shopping for my older sister birthday as well as for fathers day..Im not looking forward to any of it. T.T))
|
((You lucky warm people! We're having this strange cold wave here in Seattle... it's snowing in the mountains way out of season and we're calling it June-uary. So cold!!! It's like we skipped summer and autumn... T_T!
Tomorrow is my last day of college!!! O_O!!!! By the way, I'll be going to Europe for a month starting the 18th, so I guess I'll have to find a way to have Phineas wander off just before then...)) Phineas didn't really understand the numbering system for ages, and he hadn't counted his own years, so he could not contribute his own age to the conversation. Thousands meant nothing to him, though the reactions tipped him off to something strange in the revelation. "Is six thousand many years?" he paused. "What is a years?" first things first... He thought he had also ordered a salad from the lady, but he didn't quite know what he was looking for on the table. |
[[California has that sort of weather were bending over indoors will make you sweat XD ]]
"Mama should be here soon," Yuki said, more hoping than reassuring. He then turned to Phineas to explain that a year was usually three-hundred and sixty-five days. When he was done, he sensed an unwanted disturbance in the atmosphere, and there she was. "Well hel-lo there!" Layla chirped. "Are we all done with our food? Would you like me to take you to your rooms?" Had her eyes gotten bigger? Her teeth too? Yuki really wanted to shake his head, but he was a bit too frozen at the moment. |
"We can take us to our rooms with no help." Phineas replied. The woman was starting to really bother him, though less on a psychological level than on an emotional one. She was pissing him off.
"Did I not say I wanted a salad? I do not see it here. Where is it?" |
"Oh! Do forgive me!I will be right back." Layla said in a way that could irritate someone to the point of punching her. Lucky for her, she left. She came back a minute later with the salad, set it down on the table, and left without a word.
|
((Oh my god. I just got back from school where I actually roasted in daylight. Stupid Californian weather DX))
Kira continued to eat silently, but almost choked on her food after hearing Shan's real age. Six thousand? For an angel of sorts she supposed that it wouldn't be considered that old, but she was human for the most part which meant that sixty would be old. She saw the waiter come back out, her eyes and teeth bigger in proportion. Did she suddenly take a massive amount of drugs or did everyone else see it too? She grit her teeth trying to be tactful. "I'm fine with taking myself up to my room thank you." Her voice was edgy as she spoke. |
Phineas watched her leave, then turned to the leafy concoction on the plate. He raised an eyebrow at it. "This is salad? Looks like forest." He picked through it and decided to give it a try.
Chewing the lettuce with a look of disbelief on his face, he swallowed and smiled. "It is a good... um... differents... of things. Tastes good all together." And then he mowed through it. |
Yuki watched Phineas defeat his food once more. "Well, salad is made from plants," Yuki said, so I suppose they do look quite like a forest. Or perhaps even a jungle." He looked over at Kira, who had made a somewhat odd noise a few moments ago, but decided it would be rude to stare, and went back looking at Phineas's food, or what was left of it.
Shan came in with a package slung over her arms. The sound of metal could be heard when she moved even though the package was tightly wrapped. "Sorry I left so suddenly," she said. "I was caught in the moment...You all look rather surprised by something." She added, noticing the slight change of their faces. [[Delicious roasted Moo~]] |
There wasn't much left for Yuki to look at, really. Phineas had succeeded in making quite a mess of the table, though somehow, of himself he'd managed to soil only his old toga, which was definitely on its last threads. The dragon boy was definitely not used to eating meals in polite company. At least the mess would give the scary inn lady something to do instead of stalking them.
He looked up at the rattling of metal and grinned broadly at Shan's return. "A year is 365 days!" he announced proudly. If he had grasped simple mathematics by this point, he would have calculated how many days old Shan was (1,108,870 and then some) instead, he looked happily bewildered for a moment and added "That is a lot!" |
Shan blinked slightly, feeling out of the loop. "A lot of what?" She asked, bordering on confusion. He wasn't talking about the package, was he?
|
"Days," he answered simply.
Phineas dropped out of the chair and handwalked his way to Shan. "What is it?" he asked, regarding the metal-sounding bag and changing subjects as if he were a ninja. He was full of food and energy, almost hyperactively interested in the world around him now that his mind could stop thinking about nourishment. ((my god, this paper is NOT getting written. I am so ADD today O_O! $*@[email protected]~!!!!:o |
[[I suppose I won't distract you, then. I need to to HW too XD]]
Shan's gaze stayed on Phineas, who had managed to get his clothes dirtier than she thought possible. Ah well. "These are supplies," she told him," to make your new weapons." She moved the bag in a way that caused a bit of a clinking noise. "But I shall begin with this tomorrow. It is getting late, and I don't want Layla hovering over my shoulder." |
((You're not as distracting as all the other stupid things on the internet. Suddenly I am seeking out pictures of cute animals for NO REASON WHATSOEVER.))
Phineas looked excited at the prospect of his new weapons. And he also remembered the new clothes that Shan had chosen for him. "I should be putting on new clothes soon, yes?" he asked, looking down at himself. He had taken special care to ruin the toga, since he knew he was going to get new clothing. He had a compulsive need to "use up" what he'd already had. edit: ((Haha.... ha... hahahahhahaha!!! *GOES INSANE* I thought it was due today! IT'S DUE FRIDAY. HAHAHHAHAHAA!!! I am such a loser! *bangs head on desk* And here I am writing the worst paper I have ever written ever, and I didn't have to be! UGH! Anyway... yay.)) |
[[LUCKY!.. My project is totally due tomorrow and I'm not done >w>;
Almost done... but.. not done..UGH. At least it will all be over tomorrow. ]] Shan smiled. "Oh yes, very soon, but not here where everyone can see you," she told him. "You will get your new clothes when we're in the rooms upstairs." She looked down at everyone's plates. "Are we all done eating?" she asked, eager to get away from Layla, who seemed more odd than she had left her. |
((Ahahahahah. No more projects for me!!! Well I do have summer reading... but that's not really due...
lol. I hope you got done lol.)) Ari, whose eyes followed Layla, whipped his head back around at Shan's question. He frowned for a second, trying to put his head around the reason why Layla was so odd, before nodding slowly. "Yes." It had been a scrumptious meal. Stretching his long limbs out as he stood, he looked at Ani. "Sparring now, or are you too tired?" |
((Im currently brain dead.))
"Never." Ani said smiling as she stood up. She was finished eating and had been sitting back watching all that went on, mostly examining the tavern and its walls, the few people that were sitting in sheltered shadows eating. She nodded at Shans return and wondered how Phineas will look like with his arm weapons and new clothes, certainly more dignified than he did now in that ragged piece of cloth. |
[[*shakes fist at Fai*RAWR. What are you reading? XD
*is also brain dead, and had to spell brain 3 times before getting it right (really)*]] "Well, if we're all done, let's go up to the rooms before you-know-who comes back again," said Shan, "unless, of course, you're going to do something else." She turned to Ani and Ari. "If you spar for long enough, I might come to watch," she said, smiling, then turned her attention towards Phineas. She was almost scared that his clothes would fall apart on the way up the stairs. "Let's go then." Yuki stood up and walked over to his mother, waiting for Phineas. |
Phineas nodded and followed Shan and Yuki. He looked back over his shoulder at Ani and Ari. "I also want to see!" he wanted to see how they moved, so he could incorporate his own variations of their movements into his own repetoire. But for now, he was going to deal with...
the stairs. He peered up the stairs, frowning at the risers. He experimentally tried to step up onto one and couldn't pull himself up on only one hand without falling over. Phineas looked at the stairs a moment longer before thinking out a course of action. He turned himself around and bounced into a seated position on the step, then lifted himself backwards onto the next one. It was going to take a while... but he was going to go up them on his own. ((Gaaaah I graduate tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy geez!)) |
[[That's awesome! Congrats! ^^ ]]
Shan stood at the bottom of the stairs, interested in how Phineas would get up. He probably wouldn't allow her to help, she figured. He found a way, and it made her smile. She realized then, that she had never climbed stairs as a child. Her past was something she put on the back of her head only letting it surface with small triggers. |
Phineas made it to the top of the stairs, and, sitting on the top step, peered down at Shan and Yuki. "I win?" he asked, slyly. But he waited because he did not know which room was theirs. It seemed a long way down from the top. He spared a thought as to how he'd get down.
((thanks! XD I can't believe it, really. I keep freaking out over homework I do not have. Oh, except that paper. Still have to do that. But I'm at work anyway. SIGH.)) |
Kira looked at Ari and Ani and then at Shan, Yuki, and Phineas. "I think that I'll stay here to see who's going to win." She watched them head up the stairs as she poured herself another glass of juice. The only thing that came close to the fun of battle was watching one, though sometimes she'd like to get into them.
|
[[I took a nap and now I'm drowsy. Go figure XD
High School graduation on Thursday~ Just one more week @[email protected]]] "You win," Shan said, climbing up the stairs with the two packages. She led them all to the rooms, pointing to each one they were allowed to sleep in, taking the first room for herself and the two boys with her. She motioned for Phineas and Yuki to come into the room she had just opened the door to. |
