((Congrats on graduating!! ^^ My younger sister graduates from prek at the end of June. ^^))
Ani was fixing her dress, dusting away at tiny crumbs that had fallen in her lap. She smiled at Phineas and watched the others walk up to the room to take care of him. She looked over at Kira and chuckled a little before replying, "I dont think this is so much of fighting as it is learning from each other." She had sparred with many, including Micheal. And she had learned from them all, no matter their skill level, she always left with some knowledge. |
((Hm. Sir Pixelbag never came back from poofing, huh? Oh, and congrats on graduating.))
|
[[The book we have to read for the Freshman seminar is called The Wisdom of Crowds. Which I think is kind of ironic, considering the crowd that'll be going there. It's probably an early effort to curb ego.]]
Ari's face stretched into a broad grin at Ani's reply - excellent. He felt a little stiff after walking all day and then sitting in one position for such an extended period of time. So, he began stretching, limbering himself up. There was a light in his pale eyes, a spark of excitement. He watched as Phineas climb up the stairs, literally, and was amused by the boy's ingenuity. Ari chuckled at Kira's words, and waited for Ani to finish her reply. "I do have to agree - it isn't a match, exactly. Sparring... it's for the experience more than anything else." Ari added, resting one hand on the hilt of his long dagger. "I would just like to keep myself on edge, ready for fighting - especially if those Nightmares are as dangerous and lethal as some of your tones make them out to be." There was something in the youth that anticipated for a meeting with such a Nightmare, to come to face with such a fearsome creature. Michael's blood storm was... strange, and Ari supposed that had it lasted long enough it would have posed a real danger. Nevertheless, it wasn't what he wanted. Typical youthful foolishness. "Now that we're putting on a show..." Ari began with a soft laugh, "I suppose we should go back there in the open yard now? I have a spell to dull the edge of cutting blades, but they can't contain whatever enchantment there is written into the weapon itself. And I'm not sure how this is going to work out..." He gestured to his shortened blade with a half-smile - it looked so much smaller compared to Ani's sword. |
[[And Hoshi still hasn't answered DX ]]
|
Ani had to smile at Ari's eagerness. It made her wonder for once how old he reall was. She nodded, "We should go outside, there are chairs as well out there for you to sit Kira." She said smiling, "And your enchantment will be handy, as well as Ill disable the poison that flows through the blade."
|
"That's true I suppose." Kira got up, watching as Ani and Ari conversed. She tended not to spar, preferring to face people for real when it came time. Of course it didn't mean that she wouldn't hit people up for the occasional spar. She looked at their weapons, wondering how that would work out between them.

[[Are we waiting for a post from him/her, then?]]
|
(( I was waiting for you to lead the way XD))
|
[[waiting for who, now XDDD]]
Shan set the package of metal on the ground, and the other package on the bed, opening it carefully. She laid the clothes out meticulously, so that she could take a proper look at them before giving them to their rightful owner. She'd probably have to help him a bit, wouldn't she? |
Phineas followed Shan into the room and peered over the edge of the tall, squishy mattress at the clothes. "Oh!" He had expected something girly, but this was a pleasant surprise.
((I am now and alumnus! XD Wheeeeeee)) |
[[Congratulations!
... I just.. pictured Phineas in girl clothes... XD;; *shame* Random: My avatar will be cosplaying the Dreamweaver in a bit. She's already got the face.. XD.. She's not friendly >w> ]] "Do you like them?" Shan asked, suddenly anxious for some reason. She didn't let her anxiety show, but there it was. It was probably because she hadn't used her own gold for this, but hopefully he would like them. |
Phineas looked at the clothes approvingly, but looked confused. "I like them, but are there not a lot of them?" he'd never heard of layering... or undergarments. It looked like excess cloth.
|
Shan smiled, relieved. "There really isn't that much," she said. "I'm wearing just about the same, if not more." She pulled up the sleeve of her kimono to show her nagajuban, which was cut differently than most, but still reached past her wrist. Then, she lifted her shorter-than-normal kimono to show the silk pants underneath. Her fighting style often required wide stances... "My obi also happens to be more than one layer," she added, pointing to the large Japanese-style belts. There happened to be five. Three under the main obi, and one much smaller one keeping the obi in place. "Besides. I don't want your clothes wearing down quickly," she said, looking at his toga. What was that color, exactly?
|
It wasn't a colour, it was a lifestyle. Actually it had been a sheet left out to dry somewhere, and he'd stolen it for warmth. Not much of it was left.
Phineas clambered onto the bed, somehow managing to not pull the coverlet off the thing as he climbed up it. He took a closer look at the clothing. |
[[Sir pixelbag? Ahahaha... Ani, lol oops. I thought we were just stalling for time.]]
"Excellent." Ari said, still grinning a little foolishly, as he unsheathed his long dagger and began to work. Opening his thumb and index finger about an inch wide, he began to utter the incantation under his breathe. A spark jumped into life, and as he ran the width up and down about the blade, the spark clung to the cutting edge. Just to be there, Ari did this three times. He curled his hand into a fist to extinguish the magic spark, and then tested the blade - ah, it was blunt. As they passed into the outer courtyard, Ari extended his hand for Ani's weapon. He realized that his height and longer reach will compensate for the shortness of his blade. The weight of his newly purchased bow tugged at his shoulders, and he thought that maybe... he could incorporate this into the sparring. He didn't know how to do this exactly, but he had witnessed a fight where a man used bow and arrows in hand-to-hand combat. In real battle, he would trust that the hardened wood to serve to block a stroke from any blade, but how fast would he be able to switch from using the dagger to firing an arrow? Agility, Ari decided, was definitely something that he needed in a greater quantity. |
Yuki watched as Phineas made his way onto the bed and took a good look at the clothes himself. The clothes were a combination of green, brown, black, with gold trim, and a bit of white. The green came from the long-sleeved shirt. The vest that would go on top was an earth brown, and the edges were trimmed in gold. The pants had some gold on them too, but they were black. The gauntlets were brown and black, and these too had gold on them. They looked light and comfortable. He looked at his mother, who had an air of discomfort about her.
Shan sighed. "I suppose we should get started then," she said, almost warily. |
"Okay!" Phineas said cheerily, and proceeded to try and put his arms through the pants.
((HAHAHAHA awkward!)) |
[[OH LARD. ROFL.Too cute XD]]
Shan bit her lip. "Those are for your legs, dear," she said, her face a subtle hint of red. "And you really should take off the toga, too...and um.. those go on first." She was pointing right at his underwear, although she really didn't want to say the word. Her face was red enough as it was, and only getting redder, she suspected. At his mother's last statement, Yuki turned around, facing the opposite direction, then down at the floor. [[MORE awkward XD]] |
Phineas noticed her embarassment. He put the pants back down. "What? Did I do something wrong?"
|
Shan kept pointing at his underwear. "Um.. those first," she said. "And they go over your legs. The side facing up right now is the front," she added, really wishing that she could just put something over her face.
|
Phineas unashamedly put on the undergarment, accidentally pulling it over the toga. "Like this?"
|
"T-take the toga off, dear.. ". Her face was a deeper shade of red at the word "off" for some reason. How embarrassing. And she wasn't even the one dressing herself.
|
Phineas pulled the toga off, making sure to set aside his little pouch of riches. The undergarment was well in place, something for which Shan could be glad of. Some anti-embarassment god was smiling on her. "So... now this?" he asked, holding up the pants.
((mm, love the dreamweaver cosplay XD)) |
Thanks! I really need to draw her so you guys can see. I haven't drawn her re-vamped version D8; Her older version horrifies me a little bit (Okay, A LOT D8)
Maybe tomorrow when I'm bored after I finish two of my finals >w<; ]] Shan nodded. Thank you, God, wherever you are, she thought. It so happened that God was at this very moment looking down right at her, amused. It's white hair slanted forward, following gravity. God knew it would loose sight of her in a few days, so for now, it was enjoying watching her, even when she wasn't quite composed. Shan didn't know this of course, or she would be even more embarrassed than she was now. She nodded at Phineas, glad the underpants had stayed where they were supposed to. |
Phineas pulled the pants over his newly sutured and healed stubs, which were still raw and red with stitches under the dress bandages. He marvelled at the sparkly gold buttons running down the sides of both short legs, then fumbled with them, not really sure how they worked.
His bare chest was still scrawny, it would take a few more weeks of good eating to make him strong again. Light scars and dark scabs criss-crossed over his whole body, testament to his long journey down the mountain through the rocks and brambles. Among these shallow injuries were several darker, more sinister scars across his chest, resembling chains, and on his back the cruel slashes of a whip. His earlier claim that his dreams were all good was definitely a complete lie, and the group would just have to hope that his nightmares were not strong enough to manifest themselves soon. "You changed my gold to other gold!" he marveled, unaware of the exposed history he was showing to the world. |
