Yeah. I mean, it's not like I have a lot of pricey items, and it's not like I'm intending on selling any of them anytime soon... but it's a bit depressing to see my 'net-worth' plunge from what it had been. x_x; I couldn't imagine what it's like for those people who actually seriously invested, but I have a pretty decent idea from what I've seen people on Menewsha (mostly you and Staff) comment on.

On the 'good' news, it means I might actually get some of the things I want before the prices start rising again, but that's cold comfort at the moment for those I'd be buying from. u_u;

It's a drama about this cop (the US version has him from NYC, I'm not sure about the UK version yet, but I'm betting London) who's working this murder case. His girlfriend (also a cop) goes missing while tailing the suspect, so he's freaking out. He walks into the path of an oncoming car and gets knocked back into 1973, where he finds himself a cop then as well... and he's investigating a murder that's virtually identical.

So he's dealing with the whole "WTF" of being knocked back in time (making his '70s coworkers think he's nuts) and the horrifying hints that he's in a coma in the '00s and not entirely certain what is real and what isn't. And he's worried about his girlfriend. Plus they throw in all the differences in attitude, slang, fashion, etc that've gone on in the last 30-odd years.

The first episode seemed promising enough that I'm downloading the whole first season of the UK version (as I couldn't find the one episode alone. :B) and will probably be watching the US version, even though I'll know what's coming. XD;


I was curious as to why you weren't selling before this. XD That was an interesting experiment... and I'm rather glad that you tried it. It was surprising at how having even one major player out of the supply chain muddied the waters of the Exchange.

The effects are probably somewhat exaggerated, thanks to the real-world economy, but the results are very clear.

Personally. I think the market on gaia will be taking a plunge for awhile. With the prices dropping hoarders are releasing their hoards fast. Causing prices to drop tremediously.

Yeah with the current economic disfunction occuring. There will probably be a drop in donations this month from everyone. I was just suprised how high the prices were getting for an item most users deem 'not really bad ass, but a collectable non the less.' I would hate to see what would happen with an item as popular as the anklets

On one hand, I think it's a good thing for the person donating that prices have risen a bit. The person willing or able to spend money gets a bit more bang for their buck and the users who can't/won't still get their item, they just have to post more or game a little more. I think (under normal circumstances, anyway) it encourages people to donate for an extra set for immediate resell, because they know they'll get a pretty good amount of a really nice shop item, or a good bargaining chip in an Exchange trade, or bribe for an artist, or whatever they spend their gold on.

But even considering multi-equip effectively making a CI into 3+ items each, the jump past 1k for a CI set when it wasn't that long ago that they were going for around 700 gold a set was a bit shocking. And I don't know that it's healthy for our site economy for them to be more than 1k for awhile. x_x; Especially since not everyone can earn enough gold every month simply to afford the new CIs.


Well - that's good for me, at least! I don't earn gold very quickly there, as I can't be bothered to spend the time earning gold. I spend less than 30 minutes a day there, and quite often only drop by for Daily Chance.

Maybe it'll be good for Gaia overall for their prices in general to deflate. Maybe that'll encourage them to stop selling commons for pocket-gouging prices. u_u;

Yeah - I enjoyed it. :) The UK version ran for two seasons and had a spin-off/sequel where someone gets sent back to the 80s. And, seeing as I'm a much bigger fan of the 80s than the 70s, I want to get into that one too. (But, me being OCD about following a story in order, I have to watch LoM first, as apparently they're connected.)

Yeah. I mean, some of this upset happened also because of them being released between paychecks or something. A lot of mentions I saw from people were people saying, "Can't wait until I get my next paycheck..." And for many people, that seems to be sometime next week.

But the paycheck thing isn't the only reason. I'll be interested to hear how our sales compared to our usual. And if there was some sort of graph that showed when in the month people donated (compared to an 'average' month and either of the Dove/Raven months) that'd be even better.

I think next month will do well, in spite of the economy. But that depends on the economy at least staying the same, if not getting better already. x_x;

I'm rather glad that it wasn't another Dove/Raven type item, too. I wouldn't have been surprised to see a (purely hypothetical, as these are going to be cash shop items and not CIs) Dove/Raven backwings set be gouged for 1.5k - 2k the first week if the sellers were as few as they were at the beginning of this month. D:
