I am an '04 member of Gaia and I miss that Gaia alot. Before all the flashy shit they have now. I can tell you this....in 2008 they focused more on Cash Shop items (real money to get them) than they did on their MCs. the MCs were freakin' lame as hell last year and all the good items had to be bought with Cash.
I have no problem doing that as I work and donate but I do think Gaia has become money obsessed. I mean all the aquarium items can only be bought with Gaia Cash. WTF? Alot of die hard supporters defended it saying "oh well things take money to run and with the economy the way it is they are only doing what they have to to survive". Ok I get that....but its a sign that gaia has really changed and gone commercial in the wrong way. They need to refocus on the MCs like they used to rather than always coming out with a new CASH SHOP item that alot of people that don't have 100k+ to buy if they can't afford a Gaia Card every week. I know that things must move forward and can't remain the same......but there is way too much shit going on on Gaia right now. I love Gaia don't misunderstand and I LOVE THE zOMG to death......but DAMN >< |
