Mom: "We've just got to hop over to Dierberg's [a grocery store] for that sale, and then cash a check at the bank, then we go home."
Me: "Got it. Dierbergs for the sale, petsmart for the kitten, bank for the check, home." Mom: "...No." Me: "Goddammit." Or, like, earlier there was this empty school-type bus in the walmart parking lot. And we noticed it. And then we left to go to a different store, and noticed it pulling in the parking lot for that store (which is by a petsmart), and mom was like "...Are they just going to park in random parking lots?" and I was like "Well, maybe she's getting food for the kids or something" (it was a school bus that had been converted to one for a camp or something) and then I was like "OR MAYBE SHE'S GETTING THEM ALL KITTIES! QUICK! WE'D BETTER GO GET ONE BEFORE SHE TAKES THEM ALL!" And mom was like "Very funny." And I was like "NO, I'M SERIOUS! SHE'S GOING TO TAKE ALL THE KITTIES BEFORE WE CAN GET THERE!" "No." "Goddammit." |
