Yea, I was complaining during the holidays that most of the retail places here were actually on a hiring freeze.
I'm waiting on my background check to clear for a job I'm applying for. Or at least, I actually hope that's what's takng so long. x.x |

It's the animal rights people gone crazy. The RSPCA want to prosecute(sp?) people who dress their dogs up in the dog coats which are like human ones.

There are some dogs like sausage dogs that have to have their belly covered when it's cold or wet because they get ill so traditional dog coats just don't work for them.
It's getting to a point where it's just stupid. If you can't put a coat on your dog because it's cruel which means putting a t-shirt on your dog must be even crueler. There's been alot of comments about how they should go back to what they were set up to do. And maybe even try finding some of those poor animals good homes insted of making it so hard to give them a good home. |

I'm with organizations like that on the basic "don't wear leather or fur, don't hurt animals, be nice to animals, etc." thing but, jesus, they get so out of hand sometimes. ><
Like, stealing class pets from schools when the pet was not being mistreated and shit like that. Or freaking out over endangered animals that SHOULD be endangered. My view is that if an animal is going extinct because of US, we should try to save it. If it's going extinct due to its own stupidity and poor instincts (I.E. Pandas), just let them die. It's sad, but it's not our fault, it's theirs. And dude, seriously, sometimes dogs NEED coats/shirts/sweaters. When my dog was skinnier, if he'd go out in the snow he'd start shivering before he'd even get a chance to do his business. We got him a sweater and that fixed it. Sure, sometimes dogs get dressed up for fun, and sometimes they don't like it. But it's not CRUEL. Unless the piece of clothing is terribly tight or something, just get over it. Hell, some dogs really enjoy getting dressed up. I ordered some free stickers from PETA and along with them they sent like, twenty identical flyers with some of their "shock images" >> First of all, more than one was not necessary. Second of all, it wasn't necessary to begin with. I ordered the stickers, I obviously think fur is wrong, YOU DON'T NEED TO CHANGE MY MIND, PETA. But two of the stickers were saying wool was bad to wear. Someone please call PETA and inform them that you don't have to kill sheep to get wool. >> |

Seriously, a lot of animals are going extinct and not because of humans, but people seem to like pointing the finger at humans for it. I've even had someone curse at me for eating meat. XD But, PETAs like every other group. A bit of their stuff makes sense, but the most of it is just so stupid they should be slapped for it. |
One of the things that people seem to forget is that, throughout the history of the planet, BILLIONS of species have gone extinct. Even so, we still have the vast diversity of life found on Earth today. The planet is resilient and recovers from pretty much whatever the universe can (sometimes quite literally) throw at it. Life changes and adapts to suit whatever environment is present. The only reason to "save the Earth" is to protect our own asses from the fact that change might not include us. We're not saving the Earth; we're saving a version of the Earth's biosphere that is comfy for us.
Hence: Recycling is selfish. |
I have no problem with trying to fix our own fuck-ups. If pollution endangers a type of turtle or deforestation endangers a type of bird (or we endanger the whole planet as we know it >>), yes, I think we should try to fix it.
But fuck pandas. |
