Oh, the fun you will have.

General Lee Outrageous 02-02-2009 03:44 AM

Geez, the possibilities are endless. My zippo allows me to:

1) Perform cool zippo tricks
2) Annoy countless numbers of people as I absentmindedly flick it open and closed
3) Have yet another source of light
4) Burn down an orphanage
5) Light all of the not cigarettes I'll be smoking
6) Start legal fires in my fireplace

Cherry Who? 02-02-2009 04:00 AM

Number 2 sounds like me.
I bought a tiny slinky just so I could mess with it while reading things. It's gotten tangled thrice.

fiarra 02-02-2009 04:40 AM

I like things to fiddle with. The only thing that got me through AP Biology in 10th grade was the Silly Putty I used to hold with me during all my exams. Having something to fiddle with helped me be less stressed out. ^^

General Lee Outrageous 02-02-2009 05:29 AM

Yeah, I have an almost compulsive fixation with certain textures and sensations. The zippo happens to be one of the things that can give me endless amounts of pleasure. Books do it sometimes, too.

fiarra 02-02-2009 06:21 AM

xD Glad I'm not the only one. I'm the sort of person who will sometimes just have to touch everything I walk past in a store. Like.. clothing, I'll just let my hand brush past everything on the front of the rack.

Cherry Who? 02-02-2009 05:22 PM

I do that sometimes, too. But not a ton.
For my cardio, I walk around my house for half an hour. The way the rooms are set up, you can walk in a big circle. Usually if I get bored I just run my hand along the wall or couch or fridge or whatever's near me as I walk by.

As for strange behaviors in the store... I compulsively straighten products. If I'm at a clothes store and notice a shirt has fallen onto the floor underneath the rack, I canNOT continue browsing until I pick it up and put it back.
If I'm bored while my mom is grocery shopping, I start straightening things. Pulling the products up to the front, making all the labels face out, making them line up nicely. It makes it look a lot better.

fiarra 02-02-2009 06:12 PM

I pick up clothing from the floor all the time. Force of habit. I re-fold things too. I don't go so far as to start re-facing the grocery store.. maybe because anytime I'm there with my mom I just want to go home..

Cherry Who? 02-02-2009 06:45 PM

I don't refold things. I mean, unless they're not folded to begin with. Like if someone unfolded it, looked at it, and then just sort of stuffed it back on the shelf. I'm not very good at folding clothes, so if it's already folded, I just leave it alone.

I don't do it every time when we go shopping, just when I get bored. It usually starts if mom is standing in one spot for a long time. After that, I can't stop and I'll be adjusting things as I walk by them. xD; But if I don't get started, I can go the whole trip without being bothered by the messes.

fiarra 02-02-2009 07:26 PM

Ah I see. ^^;;

I dont mind folding things since I've gotten pretty good at with laundry at home. If someone has left things in a huge pile and I'm digging through the pile to find a size or something, I tend to fold things. xD Now I feel weird about it.

Cherry Who? 02-02-2009 07:38 PM

BURN THE CLOTHES-FOLDER!!
I just started doing laundry recently, and it has made me a little better at folding things. But it still looks sloppy when you compare it to how my mom does it. xD;
I can fold better if I have a big table to do it on. If I have to just do it in the air, then it comes out really bad.

fiarra 02-02-2009 08:06 PM

T_T I don't wanna be burned!!

I need a table to fold things on too though. If I were on my laptop I would totally find that Japanese shirt folding video.. alas...

Dystopia 02-02-2009 11:42 PM

o3o I can't fold clothes. And that's just the end of that. xD; *fails*

General Lee Outrageous 02-03-2009 12:41 AM

I can fold things marginally well, but I generally don't care. Without parental intervention, I look as wrinkled as the REAL Joan Rivers wadded up in a damp ball and stored in a closet for 70 years.

Cherry Who? 02-03-2009 12:43 AM

Oh, was that you in the corner of my closet? I thought that was a shirt. Sorry for putting you in the laundry hamper.

fiarra 02-03-2009 02:40 AM

http://www.howtofoldashirt.net/

I still can't figure out how this works.

tentenpuff 02-03-2009 02:50 AM

xDD
My mom showed me that like two weeks ago.
I kept thinking of it, but I couldn't find a video of it.
(well, I sort of was too lazy to look for one, but...)
