I knew about sorting out the lights and darks but thats about it. I avoid our washing machine at all costs seeing as it doesn't work properly.

That's a different kettle of fishies then.

Hey, I'm edging towards TenTen.

Or I was. -edges towards Kale- <3

This is off-topic and old news, but I decided to have a Shamwow Memorial for the poor, not-so-innocent, hooker beater. ;-;

I think Cherry has a similar one to the last picture, but it involves a laser-mouse? XD;

*sniff* That just brings a tear to my eye, Silver.

Silver Magi 04-04-2009 01:42 AM

I know, I nearly cried, for the sake of the poor, innocent Shamwow, and the fact that the Shamwow Guy actually beat up a hooker, when he could have made more commercials. D:

I'd totally do that. xD Ours is top-loading, though.
But hey, I'm moving out sometime, so maybe whatever washer is in the apartment complex will be front loading. And I can watch my laundry.

You don't know....... ok.

1. Sort out clothes between darks and lights.
2. Load one set into the drum making sure you have a good sized load. It needs to fit into the drum.
3. Check the side of the washing powder packet and put the right amount in for your water area. Washing powder goes in the drawer. What section depends on washing machine. RTFM if necessary.
4. Check the instructions on your fabric softener and follow.
5. Select temperature (we usually wash at 40 celcius) and hit start.

Huh, the way I was taught was so much more anal than that. xD
There are so many different loads.
Cold water blues (everything blue that isn't jeans. Also includes greens and some purples)
Warm water blues (AKA Jeans)
Cold water whites (Also includes yellow and some pale browns or tans)
Warm water whites (socks, underwear, whiteish washrags)
Reds (also with some purples and dark browns)
Nothing. Bleeds. Ever. xD
And we don't use powders over here. Jelly liquids that you pour straight in.
But yeah, it's not difficult. My only problem is that I tend to throw things in the dryer that should be hung or layed flat to dry. Woops.
But luckily, the only things that I've shrunk were things of my mother's that she said were too big for her anyway. So really, I was kind of helpful. xDD

Do you have a facebook? I have tons of pictures like this (not all regarding shamwow, though) uploaded there. Literally hundreds. xD

Lanackse 04-04-2009 01:08 PM

Yeah I sometimes do that with stuff and the tumble drier. My mum isn't too anal because it just makes it too complicated. Mind you she makes up for it by ironing teatowels.

Cherry Who? 04-04-2009 04:37 PM

Well, my mother, like me, is a little OCD, so everything has to be separated perfectly. xD
I like sorting the clothes. xD Except for when I come across my parents' undies or socks. >< Eww. I never touch them directly. xD

Silver Magi 04-04-2009 04:45 PM

@ Cherry -

Nope, I don't have Facebook. D:
My friends at school keep telling me to make one however. XD

I guess I'm the same way with my parents delicates, but since my dad is an HVAC mechanic, he works on air conditioning in the woods, etc, he sweats a lot, etc etc etc.
You NEVER touch his socks without a 10 foot pole.
Or tweezers.

HIM_ROCK 04-04-2009 05:25 PM

I avoid folding anyone's freshly washed underwear except my own. They can fold their own undies. I avoid touching socks due to a kitten who likes socks.

tentenpuff 04-04-2009 06:59 PM

I... I wanna pet... ;~;

Elmira Swift 04-04-2009 07:02 PM

I have a very fat cat that I am willing to drop off at your house if you want ;) - but Lily would not be happy.

HIM_ROCK 04-04-2009 07:02 PM

Gold fishes are good pets you can teach them to play goldfish football.

You don't want this kitty. First of all she's mine. Second she's evil.

Well, you should make one, it's fun. :D

...Eeeewwww. DDD:
Yeah, I always use a shirt or something to pick up socks and undies. xD Closest thing to a ten foot pole that's available.

I'll fold freshly washed underwear, but I'll only touch it by the waist band. If the crotch area decides not to fold or lay flat, though, too bad. Not touching.

Elmira - I'LL TAKE THE KITTY! ;-;

Elmira Swift 04-04-2009 08:24 PM

Seriously?? I mean, he looks like a camel, he's so fat! He's heavier than my 5mo son - who is a little chunker! I've had to start letting him go outside because he's got to be close to 20lbs now and really is too heavy. When we found him 4 years ago, he was skin and bones. We didn't think he'd survive. Now, if any other cat goes near the food, he rushes at them and then wolfs down the food. Gets into the trash if he can... tries to steal our food and growls... it's not cool. So, he's back outside and I hope he'll calm down a bit. Just hope that our evil neighbor won't whine again.

HIM_ROCK 04-04-2009 08:24 PM

I only fold my own because it's not tangled up in the string that is apparently classed as underwear.

Your cat sounds like my cousin's cats she found her cats and one eats like it's never going to see food again even when it was really ill it'd lay there with it's head in it's food.

The first time I read that, I thought you were talking about your son. >>;;;

And awwww, stingy fat cat. <3
-catnaps-

... wait, as in, kidnapping, but with cats. Not like napping the way a cat does. >>;

Flink 04-05-2009 03:21 AM

Wasn't the ShamWow guy more beaten than she was? XD

Silver Magi 04-05-2009 03:33 AM

Yeah, but it's bad enough my role model beat someone up in the first place, let alone get hurt himself. </3

Flink 04-05-2009 04:08 AM

He's your role model? XD Odd person to choose.

Let's see how long it takes me to get the CIs this month. -snork-

Silver Magi 04-05-2009 04:15 AM

Well, I look up to the Shamwow, rather than the Shamwow Guy, to be honest.

Ohh, one of those cats. Yeah, some cats don't react well with other cats. They'll eat when they're not hungry just so the other cat won't. Some cats get along fine with others, but many are best solitary.
My grandmother had a cat like that. Stymie. One of her other cats was very, very timid because she had been abused in her previous home. But she would not leave this one particular room for years because Stymie abused her too. :(
She was a sweet kitty, though. Some female kitties have a very delicate nature about them. They're like little princesses. She was one of those kitties. It was cute when she'd play with something. She'd bat at it just so delicately. Then sniff it.

You mean thongs?

Elmira Swift 04-05-2009 04:50 AM

I figure that Max is like that because he had to scrounge for food for so long. Seriously, he was the saddest thing you ever saw. It's almost like he's afraid it will all go up in a puff of smoke. We're hoping that if he's put outside for a few hours a day, he'll get some exercise other than chasing off the other cats. The other 2 that stay inside seemed pretty happy that Max went out.

Lily would hate me for life if I got rid of him. But I remember the first time I saw him, I knew he was not right.
