@tenten: Not really sure. XD I figure I'll find out at my next appointment since that will be the first surgery. This whole thing sort of was rushed since I had to switch doctors.
|
-haroldhuggleluffback- :'DDD
How is you? @ferra; Ahh, I see. xD I'm not quite sure whether to say "Good luck!" or "Have fun!" or what, so I'm just going to say that I wasn't quite sure what to say. xD;;; And aww, why the doctor switch? o: |
@tenten: Well I had to switch two doctors actually. My dentist decided to quit her job and do humanitarian work, so that sort of left me hanging. XD
My oral surgeon guy kept flip-flopping whether or not he wanted me to have surgery or go back into braces (lol, hell no) so when I talked to my orthodontist he told us that he isn't the kind of doctor that specializes in front teeth anyways, so it's best if we go to someone more qualified. So I got a new dentist and a new surgeon and it's all peachy now. |
... xD Aawww. Did she refer you or something? Or was she just all, "Screw this, I'm leaving, get your own dentist?"
And ohh, I see. o: I take it you did not like your braces. xDD Well, yay peachy! c: xD And I just noticed your sigchange. xD That's so cute! Because, you know, he's a sandwich, so he would! xD;; |
Well she sold her practice to someone else, but I never met them. I figured I might as well pick my own while I'm already looking for another doctor. They were both recommended to me by my orthodontist and they seem very nice and capable.
Getting braces wasn't the worst thing, but I had this monster of a device in my mouth called a herps. It was essentially metal piston hinges that forced my jaw forward. For a whole year. ;__; I guess it was a better alternative than having them break my jaw and move it that way. |
They're doing a less drastic version of that for me now. It's springs, and they think I'll only have it for six weeks. But it is to push my jaw forward. It's not working thus far.
|
Morning everyone. Cherry this is a little late but congrats on the modship. You so deserve it.
|
Thank you, Roo!
I haven't seen you about in a while, how have you been? EDIT: And we have an event thread! http://www.menewsha.com/forum/commun...post1764768218 |
Oh god, I'm terrible. D;
*shot* Life got a hold of me these past couple weeks. |
I had something similar, but it was to widen my palet. It was cemented in, and I couldn't eat anything sticky of extra chewy. Worst thing EVER.
|
Sabrina! Welcome back! nwn
What had you been up to? owo; @fairy; Aww. D: I can't figure out how to chew or play flute... xD; |
Yes, figuring out how to use your mouth is difficult. ><
|
I can't remember if that was the year I was in band or if it was a year after that... No ,it was the same year because I remember how weird it felt to practice. I think it was easier to chew with than braces, but it had a weird metallic taste to it and things stuck to it really easy.
|
Luckily, things don't taste metallic to me, and the only thing that sticks TO my braces is some gums. But a lot of food gets stuck IN my braces, or around them. ><
Last night I brushed my teeth and found a piece of a spaghetti noodle over two inches long. >< HOW DID I NOT KNOW THAT WAS THERE. |
-gigglefits- Spaghetti noodle. Stuck. Silly Christy.
@fairy; Were you still able to play, though? o: What instrument? I'm having a really tough time with the flute, but I don't know if that's because I'm severely out of practice or the braces. xD;;; |
It'll take you a bit to get used to wearing braces overall. Once you're used to them overall, it'll probably be easier for you to play flute. But I can't say for sure, as I've never played a wind instrument.
|
-blows spittle into mouthpiece-
.-.; Yeah, I think I'll be used to them in two weeks, I'm just SO not used to them right now. xD Augh what is this on my teeth... oh, it be are my braces... ._.; |
Also, they may tear up the insides of your cheeks and lips, but that'll stop after a while. c:
|
I'm glad I never had braces.
I tried to learn to play the flute, but had the worst time learning to even tap time let alone learn the notes. Dis we finish the dream cheesecake? |
The only instrument I've attempted was guitar. I played for over a year and never really made much progress at all. I just don't have much rhythm. >< Then we couldn't afford lessons anymore, so I just dropped it.
I'm trying to sing now. I rreeeeeaaallly want to sing. I'm not super good, but I'm trying to get better. One of my major problems is that my voice sounds very soft and weak. Trying to work on the confidence, hoping that will help... |
I have a tin ear, I think, so my singing sounds pretty bad.
|
I sing and I'm learning to play the guitar. It'd be easy if it didn't untune the second I put it down, practically.
|
My guitars were the same way. I had to tune them every time I went to play. ><
|
Aww. I think guitar would be cool to learn, but... xD
I don't think I'm fit for it. |
