So diplomatic, Cherry.

Cherry Who? 06-20-2010 11:19 PM

I'm not a mod because of my cooking skills.

...Unless you were being sarcastic. In which case, maybe I am.

Cardinal Biggles 06-20-2010 11:28 PM

I worried that would come off as sarcastic. T'was intended as a compliment, ma cherie.

Cherry Who? 06-20-2010 11:32 PM

So you're saying I'm a terrible cook? HOW DARE YOU.

Cardinal Biggles 06-20-2010 11:33 PM

Considering we had to call the fire department on you last time you were in the kitchen, I think I have a bit of leeway to be cheeky.

Cherry Who? 06-20-2010 11:47 PM

I said the chili was going to be fiery! You had warning! :gonk:

Cardinal Biggles 06-21-2010 12:47 AM

You know I'm a vegetarian. You planned that whole meal just to piss me off :talk2hand: serves you right.

Cherry Who? 06-21-2010 02:10 AM

It was vegetarian chili! The tomatoes only had the consistency of burnt beef. :gonk:

Cardinal Biggles 06-21-2010 02:53 AM

LIES! We vegetarians always have our revenge. Our sweet, soy based revenge.

Cherry Who? 06-21-2010 03:03 AM

But I don't like meat that much. :gonk:

Cardinal Biggles 06-21-2010 03:47 AM

Well, then come join us. We have caaaandy...

Cherry Who? 06-21-2010 03:49 AM

I don't like candy that much, either. :gonk:

I've considered going vegetarian, but I don't think I could, or even want to. I'm much more likely to go pescatarian. That fits better for me.
But right now I live with my parents, so I'm largely confined by what they'll eat (dad automatically hates anything without meat in it) and buy. I've gotten mom to add lots more veggies into things, which is good. Have gotten her to replace beef with chicken quite a bit, too.

Once I'm able to cook for myself, I'd like to cut out red meat and most porks. Having fish regularly, poultry sometimes, and often totally vegetarian meals.

ghostPastry 06-21-2010 03:51 AM

I was pescetarian for a while, but people kept feeding me red meat, and I'm too passive-agressive to stick to my guns on things like what I eat. >_>

Cherry Who? 06-21-2010 03:54 AM

Bah, I hate when people are pushy with foods when you're trying to take care of your health. :gonk: Happens to me a lot.

"HAVE THIS PURE-SUGAR COOKIE!"
"No, thanks. :)"
"NO, JUST COME ON, EAT IT."
"No thanks. I'm kind of on a diet." (except when I say "diet," I actually mean "I don't eat shit ever," but "I'm on a diet" is easier to say)
"OH, JUST THIS ONE TIME WON'T HURT. LIVE A LITTLE."
"I'LL THINK IT'S DISGUSTING, OKAY?! I WON'T LIKE IT AND IT'LL LEAVE A BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH FOR HOURS. IT MAY EVEN MESS UP MY DIGESTION. :illgetu: "
"...Just one? c: "

Cardinal Biggles 06-21-2010 04:16 AM

I find that sticking your fingers in your ears and going "LALALALALALA" helps in those situations.

ghostPastry 06-21-2010 04:21 AM

That's so rude though! Here this person is, offering their favorite food (as unhealthy and gross as it might be) to you, and you're turning it down! ;_; I just feel bad. I even feel bad when I turn down an offer for a banana or avocado, and those make me physically ill. :<

Cardinal Biggles 06-21-2010 04:33 AM

You can easily take your cues from my siggy when it comes to turning down bananas, anna

ghostPastry 06-21-2010 04:53 AM

Eurgh, oh god, spiders and bananas a match made in hell! D: I've never thought about that line so much before right now, augh. Spiders and banana in my mouth aaaaaaaaaah. DDDDDx

Cherry Who? 06-21-2010 05:07 AM

I think I'm a bit allergic to bananas... Whenever I eat them, my entire mouth, lips, and whatever they've touched gets really itchy. >< And that's the same thing that happens when I eat pine nuts, and I have a skin allergy to pine sap, soo...

Cardinal Biggles 06-21-2010 05:09 AM

Bummer, dudettes. I <3 bananas.

Cherry Who? 06-21-2010 05:12 AM

I'm not a huuuuge fan of them in the first place, so I'm not too upset by it. They're good, but a little sweeter and gooier than that I prefer.
Generally, I'm just not much of a fruit person. Unless it's a juice or a smoothie. I like my drinks sweet, but not my foods so much.

ghostPastry 06-21-2010 05:29 AM

@Cherry- Ohh yeah, I know people who've got that. Not with bananas, though, I don't think. I usually hear about it with acidic fruits.
The texture is what gets to me. It's just so... urgh. It's weird, because I used to love bananas and avocados as a small, and they both taste really good when they're mashed up beyond recognition like in guacamole and banana nut bread, but when I try eating them whole or in chunks I can't even get past the first bite. ;_; I tried today with some really tasty guac my stepmom made, but the avocado chunks were huge, so I got sick. :<

Cherry Who? 06-21-2010 05:49 AM

Aww, that sucks. D: I love avocados.
I couldn't like, just eat an avocado plain, but I'm okay with it diced in stuff. And I love guacamole. :D At least you can have that, though? So you can have all the yummy avocado goodness. Provided its mashed thoroughly, that is.

Cardinal Biggles 06-21-2010 06:26 AM

I lurve avocados. I just had some today for lunch. Sliced, and on bread with butter and pepper.

ghostPastry 06-21-2010 06:37 AM

I used to eat avocados plain as a small! But yeah, I lurves me some guacamole so long as there aren't big ol chunks of nasty in there. T_T Actually, I'm fine with chunks of tomato in my guac, even though they don't taste like anything.
