Cherry Who? 06-22-2010 06:03 AM

Yeah... And also the most terrifying, right?
I mean, aside from those fucking Wheelers. :gonk:

ghostPastry 06-22-2010 06:04 AM

I actually really liked the Goosebumps books as a small, but the movies (the one about the mask that you could never take off, especially) would give me nightmares for weeks. D: I think I only saw one or two episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark when I was little, but I stopped watching because I found it boring. I watched it recently... it's so campy.

Cardinal Biggles 06-22-2010 06:05 AM

I'm not sure anything David Bowe related could terrify me...

Cherry Who? 06-22-2010 06:05 AM

Anna - Yeah. One day I gathered up the courage to watch Are You Afraid of the Dark and was so disappointed by how not-scary it was.

I think you and I have had this conversation before, though...

Biggles - Except that picture. :P

ghostPastry 06-22-2010 06:06 AM

@Cherry- Yeah, probably. We tend to talk about old shows from the '90s a lot, don't we? >_>

Cardinal Biggles 06-22-2010 06:07 AM

It just looks like he knocked up a frog to me. Not the coolest move on his part, but who am I to judge what the demigod that is Bowe does?

Cherry Who? 06-22-2010 06:08 AM

Anna - Hey, let's talk about shows from the 70s (except Three's Company because we've talked about that already)!

I fuckin' love MASH. :D

Biggles - Do you think Mick Jagger's a frog, maybe?

Cardinal Biggles 06-22-2010 06:11 AM

@ Cherry: I honestly hadn't given it much thought. But now it's all I can think about :gonk:

I fricken love M.A.S.H.

ghostPastry 06-22-2010 06:11 AM

Mash is pretty great, but I've only seen a few episodes. And... why can't we talk about Three's Company? I freakin' love that show.
Anyways, I'm really bad about my eras with TV, so I'm just gonna talk about stuff that was on Nick at Night in the '90s and hope it's from the '70s. I never really liked Cheers. All the adults that watched Nick at Night with me freakin' loved it, but it was just SO boring to me. It's still boring to me, and I should be able to understand the humor by now, right? Dx

Cherry Who? 06-22-2010 06:13 AM

Biggles - Fuck yeah Mash *highfive*

Anna - Watch more MASH! Do you have a DVR? TV Land plays it most weeknights at 4 AM. AND FINE, WE CAN TALK ABOUT THREE'S COMPANY. Which do you prefer, the Ropers or Mr. Furley?
Cheers was 80s/90s. But yeah, it's kind of mediocre. I much prefer its spin-off, Frasier. One of the few actually successful spin-offs. Frasier's awesome. :D

ghostPastry 06-22-2010 06:16 AM

I don't have TV at all. ^^; I mean, I have a TV set, but it doesn't pick up any channels. I could get it on DVD, but my Netflix queue is so full right now. Dx
Definitely Mr. Furley! That guy was so adorable! The Ropers were just kinda jerks. ,:I How about you?
Ah, was it? WELP, shows what I know. I'm such a '90s kid at heart. I dunno if I've ever seen Frasier. I mean, I'm sure I have, but I have no recollection of it at all.

Cherry Who? 06-22-2010 06:19 AM

Oh, wait, you told me that and I forgot. ><
Well, if you ever have a nearly-empty queue, check it out. Or if you find it on Hulu or Youtube or something.
Yeah, same, I prefer Mr. Furley. I didn't like Stanley at all, and while Mrs. Roper was better, she kind of only had one note, and that got old after a while.

Frasier's good. Again, if you ever have the opportunity, check it out. It's not uproariously funny, but it's quite entertaining and has some good wit to it.

Scrubs?

EDIT: Aww man, looks like everyone went to bed.

Cardinal Biggles 06-22-2010 06:35 AM

Frasier is actually a pretty good depiction of certain subsets of Seattle society

Cherry Who? 06-22-2010 06:39 AM

I'm sure. Too bad the real Seattle people like that aren't as comical.
Stereotypically, that is. I'm not saying there aren't any people with a sense of humor in that part of the Seattle culture.

Cardinal Biggles 06-22-2010 06:45 AM

I grew up around some of them... yeah they can behave like they have a bee up their bottoms sometimes :/

ghostPastry 06-22-2010 06:50 AM

Haha, don't worry about it. It was a while ago. Frankly, I'd be a bit creeped out if you did remember. D: (notreally, I'd just be impressed by your awesome memory)
Yeah, they were both pretty flat characters. So boring.

I love Scrubs! I cried when I watched the series finale ("It's over?! It's only been eight years! WHYYYYYY!"). I got a bit sick of the characters and jokes by the 5th season, but the 8th season was a really strong finish, IMO.

P.S. I didn't go to bed, I just got distracted halfway through typing this. >_>

Cherry Who? 06-22-2010 06:55 AM

Yeah, I kinda lost interest in the newer episodes of Scrubs a few years ago. About the time that JD's girlfriend got pregnant, it just stopped being as good. I didn't see the last season. But those first five or so seasons were really great. :D

...Eeuuugggh, I just had a battle with a spider. :gonk: I went to the bathroom to wash my face then this spider was like "AAAAH, I'M ON YOUR CEILING AND I RUN FAST!" and I was all "Aaaaah, you're on my ceiling and you run fast!" And it was all *freezes* so I was all *sprays it with condensed air* and it was like "...." and I was like *sprays it with air freshener* and it was like "......." and so then I was totally all *sprays it with vinegar* and it was like "WHAT THE FUCK, MAN" and it freaked out and ran to the top of a doorframe and into a portal to another dimension. :gonk: I grabbed a handmirror and was trying to look for it, but I couldn't see it. So I sprayed more things at that general direction until I finally saw it, then I ran to get some bug spray. And I sprayed it and it was like "....... --WHARRGARBL" and it ran around and then it started running down the door, then it fell and it DISAPPEARED and I was like "OMG I THINK IT'S ON ME *hops around*" and it was all like *IS INVISIBLE* and I was like "aaaahhh" and then finally I just ran out of the bathroom and I'm going to stay in here until I'm sure it's had enough time to die. :gonk:
Fuck spiiiiders, maaaannn.

ghostPastry 06-22-2010 07:34 AM

Yeah, I didn't see the need for all of JD's relationship drama. How'd he get all of those girls, anyways?!

SPOILERX

He got with Elliot in the end. I really didn't expect it. After the second season, they dropped any romance JD and Elliot had until Elliot was about to marry Keith and then it was just weird from there. I don't really like them as a couple, but I totally did in the first/second season. Mainly in that episode with Dreaming of You by The Coral in it, because I love that song and they directed the scene well.

Augh, jeez! That sounds horrible! D: I've been battling moths lately, but spiders are so much worsh, gah. :gonk:

Cherry Who? 06-22-2010 07:12 PM

Anna - Yeah, I read that that happened. Kind of weird, but... I pretty much thought like you did. After a certain point in the show, it just didn't make sense anymore.

We don't have a moth problem, thankfully. But we do have a gnat problem. D: There's TONS buzzing around the bathroom, and it's driving me insane. I put out a sticky trap, and it's caught a ton, but there's still plenty left to be annoying. :/ Then sometimes they come into my room and buzz in front of my face when I'm trying to watch tv. Fuck you, gnats, get out mah face. D<
But yes, spiders are worse. I hate spiders. D: Though this one teeny tiny spider in the bathroom caught a gnat, so I let it live.

HIM - I'm Cherry Flavored Antacid, and I approve this message.

And so you should

Cherry Who? 06-22-2010 07:22 PM

AND SO I DO!

ALL IS GOOD!

Aw, I missed the talk of the 70's. ._. That's my favorite decade, what with all of its bicentennial goodness.

I remember when I was a little kid, I forget what year it was, but my aunt was working in France at the time, and she came home for Christmas. We were clothes shopping and I remember going through the racks with her and my mother and she was talking about how bell bottoms were out. And I just remember thinking; how can you just get rid of bell bottoms? Your pants are just going to have straight legs? Who would pick straight legs over bell bottoms?
