The Strange Tale Of The Crack Fox in on BBC 3 now but HIM watched it earlier and the OLD GREG!!
|
Lucky. They don't play Boosh during the day here. Actually, as of lately they're not playing it at all.
|
I know. I told our councilman we must seek out the wizards that invented it and conduct a stoning. But he merely suggested I look into getting a tonic from the chemist's. The nerve of him. But really, what do you expect from new money?
Btw, Cherry... -heart implodes-:glomp: thanks so much! @ HIM: Aw, they still show it over there on telly? Good Ol' BBC :) |
HIM has the DVDs which makes HIM's mummeh go WTF
The BBC have aired the 3rd series again with the eels man |
The Hitcher. Are they doing a marathon this evening, or is this a regular occurrence? It weirds out your mum? Why? I have all the DVDs too, and I still maintain the illusion of sanity in this house. Granted, my mum has never seen it, but still.
|
They've been showing 2 episodes I think it's been once a week.
My mother walks in on the strange bits and yet she still hasn't seen The Funk |
Sweet deal.
Lol, actually that did happen once with my mum. I was watching the 2006 live show, and she came in to ask me something concerning my dad. It just happened to be at the part when The Hitcher and Rudi/y (I've seen it spelled both ways) were having their sword fight. She paused and stared at the screen for a few milliseconds. "Craaap!" I'm thinking "not the best moment for you to have as your first dose of Boosh..." So I hastily spouted "The thing you have to understand is that these men are completely insane. If you accept this premise and roll with it, it's great fun." "... ok." She then asked her question and left. |
My mom walked in on a strange part too. They were all dressed very strangely, running around the poorly-made forest, and there was a bathroom in the middle of it. So naturally, she was like "What the HELL is this?" It took me a while to explain to her that the shitty sets were part of the joke and that the bathroom thing made more sense when you'd seen the episode. Then I got her to watch some Old Gregg scenes without telling her it was "that show" and she liked it. Now she loves Boosh. She even had a dream about it with Howard in it.
I also got my grandpa into it. He loves weird shows, especially British ones. He had seen parts of it but thought it looked bad, but I convinced him to watch it, now he likes it. |
...I think you guys have had this conversation before. xD
|
How can you say that there is a "strange part" in the Mighty Boosh? It's like pointing out a continuity error while watching Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.
|
Anna - You're just now noticing that I only have about a dozen conversations? I just rotate.
Kevin - What I meant was a part that was stranger than normal, and would be particularly bizarre out of context. |
Yes, I've had this convo over and over again. Even if no one is there I'll have it. Biggles no longer has any use for variety when it comes to keeping herself entertained.
|
Once my mother had a dream about the Mighty Boosh!
|
Tell me about it (again), Cherry! -pulls up a chair, dragging across the hardwood floor and creating a cringe worthy scraping oh you are sooo going to need to get them refinished... sound -:eager:
|
Okay, just real quick, but after that I'm going to tell you about the time my mom had a dream about the Mighty Boosh.
|
YAY! Just let me cancel a few things in my datebook, ok?
|
Pencil in some time for me to tell you about the time my mom dreamt of the Boosh, alright? Next Tuesday sound good?
|
Yeah, I'll get some dips in.
You haven't seen the live shows have you? And yet you are playing right into my parody. Such a good straight woman -gives cookie- |
No, I've not seen the live shows, unfortunately. (We've already had this conversation, too.)
*coughit'smybirthdaycough* |
I remember of course.
WHAAAT? So, what now? |
So now we dance, that's what!
|
Alrighty then! -does the moonwalk across the thread- awwww yeah.
18 now? 19? I'm often too distracted by the Cleese-Palin showdown on your profile to take stock... |
I'm 19 now. Currently amusing myself by announcing to my mother in a slew of dramatic voices that "I haven't [had anything to drink/slept/seen my father/talked to her/washed my face/etc.] since I was eighteen!!"
I do the same thing every year. It's also altered for new years. It's very lame and I very much don't care. |
That's the spirit! So, what might your hopes for the coming year be?
Not that I'm trying to be nosy or anything like that. I just figure I might as well throw something out that indicates interest/is somewhat momentous, given that it is your birthday and all. Feel free to blow me off. |
There's no such thing as nosy with me. I'm naturally a very curious person so I myself tend to ask questions that other people may find too--
Had this conversation before. ._. Uhh, this year I'd like to get my GED and a job. Hopefully my license, too. Granted, I hoped the same thing for 18... and 17. But I've been doing better lately in the motivation department, so maybe it'll actually happen this time. In a really perfect world, I'd also like to be able to afford to get my own place, but... one step at a time. Plus, I don't think my boyfriend's ready for that, and fuck if I'm living alone. |
