Psh, please, you always agree with me. Because I'm always right. *hairflip*
|
Yeah, but I rarely say it. For modesty reasons.
|
Well, of course. Wouldn't want my head to get too big. =w=
|
Mhm. That is exactly were I was going with that. Wouldn't want my small head to have an inferiority complex.
|
Well, I mean... it is pretty tiny. *smooshes it*
At least you fit in shiny tiny hats, tho! *u* |
WILL YOU PEOPLE STOP SMUSHING MY HEAD. IT TAKES TOO LONG TO INFLATE.
|
I'M SORRY, IT IS JUST TOO TEMPTING! IT'S SO TINY! :gonk:
... *smooshes it again* |

Wait, who are they in Chrissy's sig? And I didn't catch most of what you guys said because SOMEONE MENTIONED RATATAT I THINK AND MAYBE WE SHOULD ELOPE. |
I mentioned them. Shall I get my hat box out of the attic?
It's going to be a shaky marriage though... IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE BOOSH WHEN YOU SEE THEM. |
orz IT'S NOT MY FAULT THE BRITISH ARE SCARY
I don't understand why you would get a hat box out of the attic. D: |
So I can take my hat with me when we elope, silly.
THE BRITS ARE SCARY? ARE YOU HIGH? |
-hides behind whoever else is here see what the brits are doing to you they are making you scary that is called a bad influence-
also i like your hat, jusayin' |
Stop hiding behind me, Nan, I am trying to lurk! D:<
|
Yes, it is a lovely hat.
The Brits are giving me good britcom lovin' and filling me with tingles with their music: The Clash, 'nough said The one, the only, T. Rex -melts- The vocals aren't as delicious as in T. Rex, but god, what flair. |
Nyeeheehee, I fucking love Rock the Casbah. I know it's their most well-known (and most misheard >>) song, but I don't care, it's fantastic.
I think it's made up for by the fact that the rest of my preferred songs of theirs aren't remembered anymore. Man, I need the rest of their CDs. Nancy - I demand you click the picture in my sig immediately. |
Meh, it's an awesome song. It deserved to be included. Although, I might challenge you on the "most well known song" front. I think London Calling could easily tie.
Ohoh! A brilliant ploy with the linking system, Cherry. Loved (um, if that is the best word to use in this case... idk) your addition to the social group, btw. |
You think? People seem to know Rock the Casbah more in my experience. Granted, usually it's in the "LUL DID THEY SAY CATBOX LUL I DON'T RECOGNIZE THE WORDS THEY'RE USING SO THEY MUST BE MAKING THEM UP" way.
I think Should I Stay or Should I Go would be up there on well-known...ness. But I'm mostly basing this off my recognition of the songs before I got into the Clash (when I was impartial). It could also be a generational difference. I'm sure London Calling was more well-known in times past, but kids these days... meh, what do I care about what they think anyway. How about instead we discuss some of their best songs. Straight to Hell is my favorite, lyrically. Yeah, unfortunately not many people notice image links, since there's no visual cue to tell you it links to anything, unless you hover over it. My last signature was a link to, but I don't think anyone noticed. Granted, it was just to a larger resolution of my Hammyart. "Loved" is correct. You know you love his muscular cleavage, sir. |
You got me there, ma'am. Who doesn't love a buff transsexual?
Rehashing, sorry... I guess I was thinking more exposure wise. London Calling is used in so many movie soundtracks. Hm. I do love Should I stay or should I go. Simple, but so visceral. And yes, London Calling because it's about... London. And their political works. What Punk is all about. |
Should I Say or Should I Go is the only one of theirs I've heard on mainstream radio...
Koka Kola was my first Clash song, though. :3 ...And I always thought it was Rock the Kaz-boat. >_> |
when in doubt, reflect on the theme. In this case, strife in the middle east.
|
*rocks the Kaz-boat*
Sorry, what were you saying? |
Biggles - Ah, yes, I'm sure you're right there. I don't really pay attention to soundtracks... or for that matter, watch many movies where they play lots of popular songs in them. The only soundtracks I'm interested in, generally, are for musicals.
Visceral... good word for it. It's struck me that it's one of their few (if only) songs about a relationship, which is an overused topic for most artists. I've never held it against them, but I've always had trouble verbally justifying it. Visceral's good. Anna - Oh really? Where did you hear it? Just curious, since I've not really seen Koka Kola used much. |
I feel like going for a walk in stormy weather. Good idea? Yes, No?
|
Considering it's nighttime, I'd say no.
Then again, I'm one of those paranoid people who is convinced they'll be murdered if they so much as stand in front of an open window at night... |
