Aww, that was sweet of you. :)
I've got my cash now so I can go back later and get the 97 cent shirt. But wouldn't you know it, I went out today to buy something and... forgot to stock my wallet again. And this time it was totally empty from yesterday's fiasco. Luckily mom had cashed a check for me recently and she made a withdrawal and gave me my money before we got to the store. But I just couldn't believe I did that a second time. I really need a debit card! |
Cherry, yours was the 19,000 post! -bells and whistles. Slide whistles. Making comical noises.-
|
yeah, debit cards are a great thing. My Mom never uses credit cards, just debit.
|
Actually, Hummy got #19,000. Woooo! 19,000 posts! Wooo! Only took us three years!
Wait, wait, let me get my gif for this. http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/.../partyhoff.gif Why yes, I will use that every chance I get, thank you for noticing. Fairy - Yeah, credit cards can be bad if you're not careful. It's best to use them more or less like a debit card (I.E. Don't spend anything you don't have, pay it off immediately) so at least that way you can build up a good credit score. It gets bad when you start spending money you don't have. @[email protected] |

Nah, it was an adjustable strap, held on with a little plastic ring (that's what broke) and the strap was looped together with the one on the other side to look pretty, and when it came undone it just came all apart and I couldn't make it look right again. SO I just sent it back. :/ Now the good news is that sometime I'll have an extra almost $40 coming to me, but the bad news is...well I really loved the gown. BTW I love your signature. :ninja: |
There was a sale on at Bealls yesterday so I was seeing if I could find a sports bra but apparently they only have them on the website. Little frustrating. :eyeroll:

Kita - Yeah, thrift stores are the best. :D The only time I really buy something new is if it's something that I'm unable to find at a thrift store. A really nice cardigan or a well-fitted plain tee, for example. I never have much luck finding things like that. Good basics, I'd assume, aren't often gotten rid of and probably sell quite quickly when they do pop up in a thrift store. Plus it can be hard to find things in my size. >< It seems the majority of things are M or L.
Aww, sorry the dress was beyond repair. At least they accepted a return though. You can't buy a replacement? Thanks! Hanklerfish. \o/ Fairy - Oh, blah, I hate when stores don't have what I'm looking for. Victoria's Secret Pink has some very nice bralettes that aren't too pricy (I think around $10?), but it depends on what you need them for. I use them for sleeping in, but I don't think they're quite supportive enough for actual sports and working out. Here's their lounge bralette and they also have a yoga racerback that looks like it might be more supportive, but I can't personally vouch for it. And of course, it would absolutely kill them to offer products in any color that isn't neon. :/ Sheesh. They have good quality stuff and I occasionally get good deal from them in email, but it's so hard to find something that isn't dayglo leopard print with "SEXY" written across it! HIM - Oh, right, I've heard a bit about that. Is it on yet? |
Cherry:: That's my problem with thrift stores as well, it can be difficult to find things in my size. At least it was at home, I don't know how it will be here since I haven't checked any stores out yet. I've bought everything online since I came here.
I probably could have exchanged it, but I felt like it would be better to just return it, since I couldn't wear it around the kitty cats or anything (satin + claws = badness). Yeah. :) I think my boyfriend's friend is going to send him a signed copy of The Fault in Our Stars which I'm looking forward to reading. I found Looking for Alaska in a stack of textbooks, and he said I should read it, and I did and couldn't put it down. I read it in less than a day. XD |
If you get impatient/your boyfriend's friend can't send it and you have some spare cash laying around, it's around $9.45 on Walmart.com and it has free shipping to your home. Pretty sweet. Link.
I haven't gotten to reading Looking for Alaska yet, but I got it for Christmas and will be reading it soon. I'm in the middle of the Harry Potter series right now, though (and have been since before Christmas) and I wanted to read the whole series consecutively, without stopping for other books. But I've got a bunch of John Green books to read after! |
I saw it at Costco day before yesterday, but I didn't check the price cause I'm silly like that. :/
I went through HP recently. Well to The Order of the Phoenix anyway, because boyfriend doesn't own the last two. XD I didn't bring most of my books out here with me because I didn't know how many boxes we would be able to fit in the car (we barely ran out of room as it was) so something like 85% of my books are stacked inside an antique wooden baby cradle somewhere in a storage locker back in Joplin. I've been bugging my mom to dig some out and send them to me, but if she keeps procrastinating, I'm not going to get the books until I get pregnant someday and have to go back home to dig them out of the cradle so I can use it for the kid. I want to read the rest of his books, but I still don't know if we're going to be moving so I don't wanna buy a bunch of books. I think I'm going to go to the library sometime this week and get a card... |
A library card sounds like an excellent solution to your current predicament. :) I've considered getting a library card myself, and I might yet, but I really like owning books for some reason. I know it's silly, but I like being able to reread them in the future if I want to. And I like being able to skim my bookshelf and remember all the good stories.
I've got the Harry Potter books up The Half-Blood Prince, which I'm currently reading for the first time. I bought it shortly after it came out but never got to reading it. I need to order the last one soon so it'll be here before I finish this one. Hmm, that wasn't a very interesting paragraph. |
No I love owning books. Just that I hate packing so very much. So if we wind up having to move, I just don't want a ton of boxes. Once I know we're settled somewhere, I'll buy books.
John only has up to Order of the Phoenix and I don't think he's even read all of that one, because he lost interest in them, but now he wants to read them. Which is another reason my mom needs to send me the books so that we don't have to buy them. >.> |
Yeah, yeah, I know what you meant. Owning books is great. Enough time goes by and you forget much of them, so you get to read them all over again. It's not as fun as it was the first time (unless you were too young to fully appreciate it the first go around - I'm appreciating Harry Potter much more thoroughly than I did at 11), but still fun. :)
Uhm, that was kind of a shitty post, I shouldn't post when I'm sleepy. Goodnight! Urg, I should make some kind of conversation point since this one is petering out. Okay, acne. I still have it and it sucks. It's settled in to the apples of my cheeks and has been partying there for months. On the plus side, I don't even need to consider blush. |
It's starting on Thrusday

Shiny, aren't they? |
Oooh. They really are.

Have any of me Hoffies been getting any snow? It's tragically snowless here in the Midwest. We've only gotten one proper snow this whole winter, and it wasn't that big either so it only stuck for a few days before it was completely gone. I want snow, dammit! :illgetu:
