Yeah, I had it on my list, and then found out that John Green recommended it, so I read it next.
I did really like it, I thought I noticed a plot hole, but it could've just been me being tired. It didn't end the way I expected.

Cherry Who? 04-03-2012 06:40 AM

Maybe you could look up some stuff online about the perceived plot hole to see if there was something you missed. That happens to me a lot. A few days later I think "but what about...!!!" and then I check and, no, that was covered, I just forgot.

Nerdfighter? :D

I had fun chatting with you guys during the event! If you wanna continue the party in here, the Howse is big enough for everyone! :D

Did you guys get to do everything you wanted in the event? I ended up not making enough time to work on Knerd's puzzles and a haiku for Biggles' contest, so I'm kicking myself a bit. But I had fun! How about you?

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 05-28-2012 03:22 AM

I totally meant to do entries for avi contest as well as yours, but was a lazy-ass practically the whole event. I couldn't even muster a haiku for Biggles's thread and only turned in one puzzle for Knerd's puzzles. :gonk:

`Kitami 05-28-2012 03:23 AM

-tickles Cherry-
I couldn't do Knerd's game. It kicked my butt. :gonk:
I finished the easy puzzle from the first day, but that's it.

Keyori 05-28-2012 03:24 AM

Yay an invitation to another hangout!

Thanks for the ping!

I felt like I had so much to do! If I wasn't unemployed I don't think I would have been able to do as much as I did get done, between Knerd's puzzles and the Yan thread and all the hangouts I was in xD

Cherry Who? 05-28-2012 03:38 AM

Iku - Yeah, I kept thinking "oh, a haiku won't take much time, I can do that later and focus on something else right now!" and then... the event ended. >>

Kita - I finished the easy word search puzzle and easy boggle puzzle, but nothing else. I have the medium and hard word searches printed out next to me, half finished. I never got to finishing them in time. ><

Keyori - Hmm, are most hangouts invite-only now? HoH has always been open to anyone, but if that's not the norm anymore, maybe I should make that more clear.

Yeah, I kept pretty busy too! I've been pretty inactive during events for the past few years, just kind of hiding in the staff forums and lurking, but I never have much fun that way and I don't get to really experience the event. So this time I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and made an effort to do a lot of chatting. It really paid off, I had lots of fun! Not to mention made a lot of gold and tokens.

Keyori 05-28-2012 03:43 AM

No, I just don't really look into many and I don't think I've been pinged to one before xD

I think maybe I've only seen one invite-only hangout? Ever? And it was a really clique-ey group so I wasn't interested in posting there anyway >_>;; (plus I didn't get invited, I guess I'm just not cool enough )

Yay I'm glad you had fun! \o/

My brain is broken, aren't you from the St. Louis area? I'm feelin' a little homesick for it lately :C

Cherry Who? 05-28-2012 03:49 AM

Yeah, I think I've only ever seen two, but I don't really go looking much so I wasn't sure if they'd taken over. And yeah, that whole thing is kind of snooty. :/

Yep, I'm about an hour in from St. Louis. Did you move recently?

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 05-28-2012 03:49 AM

@Cherry: Yeah! XDDD I did about what you did and finished the Easy word search and Boggle (though I didn't finish Boggle so didn't turn it in), but did save the Medium and Hard word searches.
Glad you stepped out of your comfort zone and had fun though! :D

Hmm. As far as I know most hangouts aren't invite only. :O They're just.. you know, groups of people that hang out based on interests and whatnot. XD
The two that I knew of are kind of gone now.

Hatake Ayumi 05-28-2012 03:52 AM

/is skyping the boyfriend, posts just to subscribe real quick/
Iku, you so cuuuute~

`Kitami 05-28-2012 03:52 AM

Cherry:: I tried to do the rest of the puzzles, but my brain went blank when I tried to work. O.o

Woodlandnymph 05-28-2012 03:56 AM

<3 I never got to finish Knerds Words! I worked on a ton of the puzzles and never finished them!

Cherry Who? 05-28-2012 03:57 AM

Hatake - I always catch you when you're skyping!

Kitami - Same! The cryptograms and word morphs just made my brain say "NOPE." I made some feeble attempts, but it just hurt. Boggle and word searches were what I was capable of, but then I never got around to doing more than one of either. Woops.

Iku - Well that's good! It'd make me sad if the majority were invite-only. That kind of exclusivity is kind intimidating and off-putting to new members and anyone else trying to get into the community.

I didn't post as much as I wanted, but I finished all of Knerd's puzzles (to some degree at least) except the easy and medium difficulty Sudoku puzzles. I wanted to do a haiku, another avatar entry, and socialize more but I just didn't have the time. :(

But I had fun! I'm really eager to see the results of the contests.

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 05-28-2012 03:57 AM

@Ayu: Thanks! o wo

Cherry Who? 05-28-2012 03:58 AM

Wow, that's a lot more than I got done, Ferra! Good on you!

What bugs me most is I totally had plenty of free time to do all the contests I wanted, I just... didn't. >> But this is my first event in a while where I'm trying hard to be an active participant, so I'm sure I'll get more done next time around!

Keyori 05-28-2012 04:02 AM

Holy cow this thread exploded xD

Yeah, I moved to Cali. I just want some Imo's ;_;

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 05-28-2012 04:03 AM

Yus, next time, next time! \ o /

What's Imo's? :ninja:

Keyori 05-28-2012 04:05 AM

Like, the best pizza on the planet.

There's only two place you can get it. Major metro areas in Missouri, and San Francisco.

And SF only has one restaurant that serves it.

Cherry Who? 05-28-2012 04:05 AM

It's a pizza chain around here. Kinda funny because it's pronounced "emos."

I wish my pizza were Imo's so it would cut itself. That's terrible, I'm sorry.

And yes, I'm so happy the Howse is getting some action. It's never been that lively of a thread. It might die down after a day, but still, yay!

Keyori 05-28-2012 04:07 AM

Haha! I've not heard that before xD

We've been searching high and low for the cheese they use on it. My friend (who is also from St. Louis and moved to Cali, but he's about 3 hours away from us) actually has the sauce. And their delicious Italian dressing

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 05-28-2012 04:09 AM

Ooh interesting! :D I'll have to try it one day if I'm ever nearby one. P:

Keyori 05-28-2012 04:11 AM

It's a very interesting pizza. Don't be surprised if you don't like it xD

Also, get sausage, instead of pepperoni. :)

Cherry Who? 05-28-2012 04:13 AM

You know, to be honest, I'm not sure if I've ever had Imo's pizza or not... I'm not big on pizza, though. I prefer to make it at home from scratch or else I end up with a stomach ache. :( And that way I can put two inches of veggies on it.
