It's getting close to mothers day!
What are the plans? I live to far away from my mom now to do the traditional flower/nice dinner thing so she'll just be getting flowers this year. I might make her a card too, she always liked it when I did that growing up. Anyone have any special plans for your moms?

Mothers' Day passed quite a while ago for us in England.
My mum lives a long way from me, too, and this was the first year I wasn't able to go and see her. So I spent aaaages making her a pretty card that I mailed to her, and my husband and I sang "Happy Mothers Day To You" to her down the phone. She's put the card in a frame on the wall now. |
I'm sending my mom flowers. <3 and some cute pictures of her grandkids. I'll probably send cards off to the rest of the female relatives as well.
(when I lived closer I would make a special dinner for my mom. I miss doing that!) I on the other hand...have convinced my husband to get me a new pink digital camera. <33 I can't wait~! |

I got my mum some chocolates and a card ;3 The year before I made her a sketchbook, with copies all of my baby photos ;3 But this year I didn't have as much time to think of something really creative D; so I left it at chocolates, a card and a hug :D My brother is so tight, he doesn't buy anything >.>; It makes me really mad how he doesnt show his appreciation for my mum on Mothers day. |
I've already done what I was going to do for Mother's Day. My mom borrowed $25 dollars recently, and when she went to pay me back, I just told her to hold on to $15 of it.(So I won't spend it. ^^;). That way, she can get what she wants, and I won't end up accidentally spending the money. :). As for other things.. I have no clue yet. ^^;. I'll find out at the end of the week, I suppose. My brother usually takes her out to eat for dinner, though. (I don't have the money to do so, as I don't have a job. But if I did have one, I would.)

I'm gunna go buy some flowers for my mom . I have a tight budget atm so I hope she will like them seeing as i also need to buy her a birthday present. I wont be able to top the ipod my little sister got my mom. ._.;;

I want to go and have a nice dinner/lunch with my mom. They are even planning a barbeque at her boyfriend's place. but I don't know if I can go because of my job :( I work too many evening shifts! But, she knows she's in my thoughts and even if I can't get together with her on mother's day, I'll do something with her when I can to make up for it. Most likely convince her to come to town for lunch and pay for it for her then go shopping.

My mom wants me & my brother to fix up her flower beds in the front yard. So, we're going to do that. & I'm going to make my mom a snazzy layout for her myspace :3

Depends if I have money. If I do, I might get her a nice book like I did last year. She seemed to like that one. I'll have to look around first. :P

Loubie's Mother's day is over, but! :> My mummy and my little sister and myself all went out to the park to have a picnic and after we were done we all went to the arcade and played DDR for a while. My mum has the fastes little feet I've ever seeen~ Then we went shopping a bit and she stayed for the rest of the week with me. It was a very quiet Mother's Day but it was enjoyable.
Well, my mother really does like my home-made plushies that I make so I made her a mother fox [she loves foxes] and a daughter fox that conect together at the hands by magnets that are inside of the fabric. :> Since my sister can't really buy anything right now her and I jipped together and got her a pretty necklace with our birthstones in it. Blue topaz and pearl go together very well. *nodnod* |
I'm a florist so for mother's day I get to basically order whatever flowers I wish from the wholesalers and make her a vase. We recently bought a house and have lilacs in oufront yard which are now starting to bloom and smell delicious, I think I'll use some of them along with either Peonies or lilac garden-style roses and some soft feathery plumosa [asparagus fern] to make her a mixed garden vase :]
I also intend to go out and purchase an accordian board book kit and make a large card to frame and hang above the mantel :]]] |
actually I'm not really planning on anything to specail and I have already given my mom her gifts...though I was thinking of giving her one last thing....(diamond earings.) though those might wait till her birthday.

Those sound like awesome ideas. I am going to bake my mom a cake, and surprise her early in the morning for fun, when she is still in bed haha. x]

For this Mothers Day Im buying my mum a necklace that has three charms, each a girl, symbolizing myself and my 2 sisters, and within them are going to have our birthstones. ^^ As well as I picked out a sweet card.
We really dont out our parents for dinner and stuff, since they really dont like to eat out. Instead for mothers and fathers day, my older sister and I cook a nice dinner and we buy a lovely ice cream cake. ^^ Its peaceful and sort of a tradition. ^^ |
My mother refuses to talk to me since I joined the army.
When I got promoted to Sergeant some time back (YEEAARS AGO), she totally flipped at my party and hasn't talked to me since. I've been trying every year to talk to her, but she never returns my calls or letters. I guess I'll just hang with my Fiance's mom or somethin'. |
I would like to fly to Chicago and visit my mothers grave and put some flowers on it ... but thats not going to happen ... The day is depressing to me because I do not feel that I have been able to really do anything special with her ... she died with I was in 3rd grade ... :cry:

I don't have special plans in mind but I have been thinking about making a pretty awesome gift. I have just finished with all of my real work in my art class so I think my sister and I are going to make a picture of a giraffe for her in oil pastels. My sister is really awesome at animals in oil pastels and my mom really loves giraffes so I think she would really love a picture that we made ourselves. X3

seeing this tread was funny. I'm a mother and have 2 lovely kids and there both broke hahaha
so looks like nothing this year for Mothers day. But thats ok I understand I'm always broke too. |
I never have any money, so I'll make my mom a card. Like I do every year. She loves it.
And she's been bugging me to scrub her floor (by hand! ARRGH!) so guess what I'm doing tomorrow? I didn't even realize that Mother's Day was on Sunday until... this morning. It probably would have hit without me even noticing. |
I finally learned how to use layers on photoshop, so I'll be a busy little fish tomorrow making my mom a card.

I already gave my mom her mother's day present. She loves sitting out in the sun so I bought her a nice comfy beach chair, but the day I got it was just so pretty I had to give it to her early so we could sit outside and enjoy the sun!
