My left ear sure takes a LOT of abuse...o_O
So...hi there. :D I'm here to discuss...body parts that get no mercy from you. Sounds a bit weird, doesn't it? Well, that's because it kinda is.
You see, yesterday, I had my ears pierced in six more places than I'd had before. I'm quite happy. I now have three holes in my right ear...and five in my left. And it struck me just now...my left ear really does take a LOT of abuse. XD I'm half deaf in that ear from an incident when I was a baby - my idiot then-neighbor screamed directly in my ear to get back at my dad...for telling her daughter not to put tennis shoes in the dryer at midnight. Oh yeah. How dare he? :sarcasm: Yeah...half deaf in that ear from that one. Also, when I first had my ears pierced, I was a stupid little child. I bought a pair of cheap earrings about a month after I changed from the original piercing studs, because I thought they looked cool. And I put one in my left ear...and I dropped the other. I was on the floor searching for it for a couple minutes...and when I got up and looked in the mirror to put it in, my left ear was all red. That explained the itching! :D That hole is still a bit sensitive to irritation because of that incident. And now, that ear has two more holes in it than my right. Two more holes that are in the cartilage, I might add. Which, as I was told right before it was done...really aches for at least a few days. And I have to say, they weren't lying. XD; Also, because there are so many new holes, if either ear gets infected, it's going to be the left one. But I'm making sure neither ear gets infected, so yeah. But IF I let it. You get the idea. Another body part that gets no mercy is my left knee. Especially lately, since I LAUGH when it hurts...I'm not as careful as I used to be. It's where I had one of the three worst injuries of my life (which I'm now quite proud of >w>;;), it was sliced to the bone when I was in the first grade (I still have the scar), and just today I hurt it again while hiking. Which was basically a repeat of the INITIAL injury that made that top three worst injury so damn bad. Um...yeah, I think I'm gonna be rather careful with it for a while now. XD; So I ask of you...do you have a specific body part that seems to take more abuse, either deliberate or accidental, than the rest of your body? It's your turn to share YOUR stories. :D |
Hehe your left ear, eh? I feel sorry for that poor, poor ear.
The injury you mentioned about your left knee, where it was sliced to the bone, sounds really painful.. I got a mental image (like I do whenever I read anything), and it was defiantly not a PG scene. xD I think the most injured or abused part of my body would either be my tail bone or right hand. For the tail bone, I have bruised the poor thing 3 times in the last year. OUCH. It hurts to sit, it hurts to stand, it hurts.. to move. First time I bruised it was at this jungle gym (seriously, the place is like.. 3 stories high and HUGE), and as I was jumping down this platform, I slipped and smacked my tail bone on the edge of the hard plastic corner. I almost cried.. But I did not. Second and third I do not even know what happened, but they got bruised somehow.. As for my right hand, I will just simply say that is the hand I play bloody knuckles with my friend CJ, the strongest kid in school.. x.x |
For me it's probably my right arm. I don't know, I always walk into walls, corners, book shelves, cupboards, etc. Just everything. Haha. I don't even know how. I can walk down a hallway of my house and by the time I make it to the end I have a scrape on my arm ready to bleed! I'm at the point that now I don't even notice when I hit my arm or scrape it or anything. I only realize when someone tells me or by some whimsical chance I get a glimpse of it while doing something else. Also that's generally where I get hit most when I'm play fighting with friends or anything of the sort. Haha, it's just a screaming death trap! I swear!!

I've noticed that my hearing in my left ear is noticeably worse than the hearing in my right. I believe this is because for months upon months my iPod headphone jack was broken and only the left one worked. Upon getting a new one, I realized how much louder it sounded in my right ear. Ha.
Or it could be because when I was about 12, my eardrums ruptured, but it was the left one that I had serious issues with. That was painful. |
awww my ears hurt from time to time..sometimes they look really really red..*it switches ears*
umm i guess my ankles because i keep my legs tucked under each other i guess like a yoga position but when im at the computer i look and see my legs there and i might look at my ankles to see marks on them and if its not at the computer maybe when im out my mom thinks i got bit? |
My poor little nosey.
I got a septum done a while ago and I have horrible allergies, I'm also a very violent sneezer. You'll know my sneeze, you can hear it a few miles away. Well, the first day I got my septum my friends thought it would be a good idea to visit a pet store. But, of course, I'm allergic to pet dander and I'm not the kind of person to bring pills with me in my purse around town. I tried to ignore the burning itching feeling in my nose and played with all the puppies and once we were out of there I had to go through hell. My nose felt like it was going to fall off and for the next 5 hours I had to go through painful sneezing. |
my eyes.
when i was 8 i got an bunch of pencil shavings in them (don't ask) about a month ago i got an entire glob of sand in my eyes. it was so bad i couldn't open them. i also have a slight astigmatism (sp?) and i have to wear glasses. my dog rammed his nose into my eye one day while i was laying down. my eyes have suffered much abuse, poor things. that and i slid two feet on my face on concrete when i was younger. i didn't bleed, except fom my eyebrow. i didn't need stitches thankfully. |
Both my big toes have ingrown toenails, they hurt SO bad if you touch them just a teeny bit, my toe accidentally hit a wall as I walked into the bathroom and it was the worst pain I ever felt, ever. T~T Whats the point of having nails anyway?

My ears are kind of shot by the end of the school day from the freaks that just have to yell all the time. And I guess I'm so lucky to always be within breathshot of the person making all the noise. My poor ears...
I think the part of body that suffers most though is probably my hands. They're always getting cut somehow or bruised or scraped or smashed. And, it's trifling, because for me my hands are very essential, since I play stringed instruments. Can't afford to have them all screwed up. I'm sorry about you ear dear, that's really a shame. I hope by some miracle you just heal, out of nowhere, and completely. |
The entire left side of my body is horribly, horribly abused.
Starting from head down-- I have a tendency to knock the left side of my head specifically, which has something to do with my lack of grace and the cupboard door to the bowls cabinet. My left eye is the one with the astigmatism and the stronger eye prescription. Acne?-- Only ever seems to happen on the left side of my face. My left knee always seems to be the one going bum from my over-excersizing habit. And for some reason, since I was all of six years old, scars tend to gravitate towards the left side of my body. The great majority of my scars are on the left. ... And I don't know how half of it happens. I'm a natural klutz, it's true-- but I think I must walk around lopsided or something. Oooh!-- left side of my neck, as well, from the way I position my head when I write. That one's a pain. x.x Weirdly, I love the left side of my body more than I do my right. I have a certain amount of respect for it, because it's so strong in the face of extreme misuse. |
There are dirty ways to anser this, and I have a perverted mind...
but I'll be good. My feet usually get a lot of abuse cause I don't wear shoes around the house. The tile floor is very cold. My poor feet...I'm gonna buy house shoes... |
I'd like to have a 'few' piercings here and there, but so far the cons have outweighed the pros. I like dangly earrings that may very well be pulled out of ear. And I want piercings in parts of my ear that probably will hurt. And my friend's mom had a piercing once. Skin grew over it. As in, the piercing and the earring. o-o;
|
My sides tend to take a lot of abuse.
It doesn't matter whether it be my left hip, or the side of my right leg. I ALWAYS end up smacking it into door frames, table sides, or walls. I have a thing in which I would open doors, and instead of opening the door the entire way, I would just slip through whatever crack I had opened. Last week, I was walking out of the restroom, and was looking in the mirror around the same time I was walking out the door, and I managed to smack my left hip with the door frame. -3-; I also wear studded belts, and the studs ALWAYS scrape against brick walls or cabinet doors. What a hassle. <_< |
I am deaf in my right ear so my left ear I guess you could say is abused, lol ... um I would also say my left knee .. I injured it while trying to help push one of our cars out of a snow bank. I slid on a patch of ice and .. crack .. my kneecap got dislocated and just messed up. I had two surgeries on it ... and need to have a third on it now because its still not where its supposed to be. I think I try to do too much than I should with that knee ..I play DDR and this last time I play my knee hit a surge of pain because I turned it the wrong way on the pad playing a song. I need to be more careful, heh, but luckily it wasn't too bad .. and I was able to walk on it still.

My left foot! Haha. (If anyone get's that reference, I will give them a cookie!)
But seriously. My left foot takes a lotta heat. I always hurt it at work. Just the other day I dropped an EXTREMELY HEAVY shelf on it and think I crushed some bone. Going to the doc to get that checked out soon. Also not long ago at work, I was running and bashed my toe on a chair and it ended up all black and blue and painful and now almost months later it STILL hurts. I should probably get an x-ray. |
My hands. I am really rough with them anyway. Like I work at fast food so they always get burned. Then I always play sports so they always get bruised. And I was in martial Arts for awhile and that''' Was painful. Hand always got scraped..
Plus when I get angry I smack things:p As violent as IO am, I guess I deserve it:p |

Family guy;; Stewie doing that wheel chair number, song thingy. Um, but yeah. I would say my ears get a lot of abuse, only because I like ear piercings. ;x I have 4 in my right ear and 6 in my left. and my lower lobes are a 0 gauge. The rest is 14 gauges and my traguses + helix piercings are 16 gauge. ;] I am hoping to get a vertical industrial done to my right ear on my birthday [to match my left ear]. |
I tend to hit my elbow on the top of the stairs. Otherwise it's general bruising that I never remember getting.
I have 1 piercing in my left ear, 1 in my tongue and 2 others that I'm not sure I can mention on here since they're in naughty places. >.< |
My right hand.... If one of the nails is coming off poorly, it's that one. (I got a hangnail a few months ago and accidentally managed to rip it.... Nearly down the middle before I could cut it off.) If there's anything else weird, it's that one. The hand that I actually managed to get a ring stuck on and COULD NOT GET OFF? Yup; there's presently a scar around part of that finger. And a few other scars on it.
Come to think of it, it's my right arm that I sprained. XD Poor right side. (The left side gets its share of grief, but still.) |
My left arm gets it. XD I'm right handed, and an artist, so I try not to let things happen to my right hand or arm. I'm trying to become ambidextrious. <3
|
At the moment my finger T_T I burned him!
|
I can't think of a single place on my body that gets abused.
|
My hands, my poor poor hands.
I'm a member of my school's Varsity crew team, which means that my hands take a lot of abuse. Calluses, blisters, skin just getting scraped right off - My hands are incredibly rough and hard by the end of the season. Want to see? Yeah - Crew team makes me look like a leper. |
aha ya, my ears are finally healed up from when I streched them to 0-they didn't like that. (even thou I was at a 2, did it slowly with lube etc.) I'm just glad not to have ear crusties all over >_<;
|
My left ear is messed up too.
I punctured my left ear drum with a Q-tip. So every once and a while it feels really itchy like on the inside. And if something is too loud, my ear buzzes. And for my mom, her left ear is going deaf. WTF @ LEFT EARS. |
