Rate my fugly old drawing...sketch...thing. =]
Uh, I always wanted to have some critique person! Yeah! But I don't have any current work up, so rate this fugly drawing. =] It's fugly, I think. D< One of my OCs. =] Uhhhh.....I drew it in......February? Or March? Maybe January? Not sure. I guess it isn't that old. xDD But I draw kindaaa[?] different-ish from this drawing now. It's almost similar...exceptt the face shape, and other stuff. I wanted to get something, and the girl wanted art, I did a super quick FUGLY sketch. But I don't think she liked it. :o WTF. Okay. Nevermind. It is ugly....

You're on the right track ^^
You're in your beginning stages, which is understandable when you're relatively new to art. The best thing you can do for yourself is draw from a reference occasionally to improve style and proportions ^^ The worst thing you can do would be to stop drawing, so keep at it! |
It's not fugly, it just can use some work in some areas. So, first, the waist area seems VERY small, so small that it's unbelievable. Another thing is the eyes seem a bit close together and the mouth seems puny. Also, it might just be me, but the head seems a bit big, but not by a lot, only a bit. And the color area of the shirt seems very flat on her body, your clothing doesn't just stick onto you like that, and the buttons seem kind of off, shouldn't they be a bit closer to the middle of the shirt? I like how you did the legs :]

Yeah...the waist seems too small. -_- I think that it's also mostly the bottom of the shirt's fault too....I'm not sure, but I think that it was supposed to be blowing or something....I think. Not really sure. D: Maybe that's why the tie is like that too? I dunno. D:
How do I make the eyes farther apart? Does that mean I have to make the face larger? Or make the eyes smaller? -_- The mouth looks puny? I don't wanna say anything like, "It's my style," because that's a lame excuse, but that's well....kinda how it is....kinda. Or do you mean it should be slightly larger? Or like......just bigger...I dunno how to explain it. -_- Yeah, when I actually do take a closer look at the top of her head, I think it does look a bit too big. Just got to chop off the top of the head. D: What do you mean the "color area" of her body? The clothing should be looser, is that what you mean? Wrinkles and all too.... Maybe the buttons should be closer to the right......? Thanks. ^^; How about I do another sketch of her, of how I would draw it now? Then you can critique that as well? Well....if you want to. ^^; |
i hink its cool but i dont like the legs that much but overall its good:) remember practice makes perfect ;)

I think you have a beautiful art style waiting to blossom ^_^ She needs eye brows was the first thing I saw. If you're having trouble drawing feet and hands, I would work on those the most, using your own hands or consider taking figure drawing, or just drawing your friends. Keep at it! You've got great potential! I couldn't draw as well as you when I was 13 XD

Oh yeah, "color area" was a typo, I meant to say collar ^^;;
And for the mouth, maybe it's just because a lot of drawings I've been seeing lately tend to have bigger mouths. This is kind of random, but I'm about the same age as you ;O |
I actually like it. As others pointed out you could work on anatomy a bit but you have a good sense of motion. This isn't really related to the art but I'm only a little older than you and actually I just turned fourteen this April!lol. Besides that pointless little factoid all I have to say is awesome job so far and keep working at it! ^_^
