Dream of Mirror Online

Does anyone here play Dream of Mirror Online, or any of the other Aeria games?

I've been playing DoMo for somewhere between six and eight months now I think, and I really enjoy it. Domo is based on Chinese mythology and legends, so it is really interesting. It is also a really pretty game, and there are a lot of quests in the game. I love questing<3

This is Seijre, my Sylph Shaman. There are four different races to chose from, each with its own type advantages. For example, Sylph characters are good at magic^^

I have not tried any of the other Aeria games yet, but one account allows you access to all of them for free, so it's a really cool deal. If you're interested in online mmorpgs at all, go check out aeriagames.com. There are some really pretty games there, and there is probably a wide enough selection of genres to appeal to anyone^^

AbsolutionBot 05-24-2008 05:36 PM

I played it during the beta, but I never really got into it. I really liked the sound of some of the features, but never quiet understood them (like the destiny thing). I've been thinking about going back, but I've already got FlyFF, Mabinogi, IMAGINE, and Guild Wars to steal my freetime XD Some day maybe....

xXMidnaXx 05-24-2008 05:46 PM

I played that game, I have a lvl 29 sprite Martial Artist, but I quit because all my friends were pretty much gone, my poor pet is probably dead by now. XD I also left because they're scammers when it comes to their cash shop, and the fact you couldn't make powder to repair your weapons. That weapon durability is bullshit, I hated it!

By the way, this topic might be moved to the media forum.

Mizu_Taji 05-26-2008 08:06 PM

I used to play it, but the lag at my school made it unbearable, that and leveling the doctor sucks like heck...

And now that I have a fast connection, the computer that it is on doesn't hook up to the internet Oo

Dream of Mirror Online

Do any of you play DOMO (Dream of Mirror Online), an anime-style MMORPG? I play as two characters in that online game - EvangelineAKMcDowell, a human (currently a 6th-level Commoner), and Perisie, a Shura (fox-catgirl) Blademaster at 10th level. Here are some screenshots from when I brand new (I actually joined it a little over 3 days ago, but can't really qualify as "brand" new anymore):

The game also has Sylphs and Sprites, the latter of which kind of resemble children. The default female version of the Sprite is a dead ringer for Misaki of "Angelic Layer".

Well, anyone played this MMORPG? I'd like to be able to share opinions on this entertaining game, which I consider vastly better than most MMORPGs today :)

Dark Evangel, I merged your thread with Ayaji's since you two are discussing the same game. Please use the search feature before posting a new topic, it helps us cut down on repeats.

EmpressOfTerra 07-02-2008 02:33 AM

Nope, I don't. But I do play other MMORG's however. This one i have seen advertised in many places but I never had the time to really download it.
It looks OK though. I think the graphics is why I'm not really bothering to try it to be honest.

Dark Evangel 07-02-2008 01:17 PM

Sorry about that - I did look manually, but couldn't find it. Thanks for merging it :)

And what's wrong with the graphics, Terra? It's very anime-esque, and appeals to those of us who like a break from Runescape-style MMORPGs. :)

Terra517 07-02-2008 03:09 PM

lol I agree with the graphics being so much better than Runescape!! I played for one day on that and quit. I only tried too b/c a friend asked me to.
I don't know. Normally those graphics are find for me to be honest but I guess I just don't want to play it.

(Yes I play games like Wonderland online but mainly games like Guild War or Rappelz is great for me and something I stay hooked on for a while. But those games like FLFY are cute. I will try it though. Graphics don't always stop me for trying it but...I'm just lazy to download is the most likely reason. XD maybe its not the graphics if I think about it now.)

Well, it depends on your connection. I DLed the client in only one hour, 15 minutes on my broadband connection. Gameplay itself will also vary according to how much RAM you have - a little jerky on my 500+Mb one, but still runs well enough to play. It'll certainly work at its best for those of you with larger amounts of RAM. It's pretty fun - not only do you quest, you can build relationships with your teammates, not just as friends, but as teacher/student or even lovers, although that is intended strictly in-game only (for those who take that too seriously!). There's also all kinds of cool-looking costumes, from the Samurai to the Ninja, or from the Gothic Lolita to the Bunny Girl. People are friendly and willing to help you start out - the first time I partied was when I was being besieged by 4 monsters and someone came, healed me, and all of a sudden offered to party up. I couldn't say no, given how outnumbered I'd been - I'm normally a solo player, but I'm never averse to teaming up with others. Just the fact that I tend to be on when most others are not. This will change as time goes on. And I know others will experience the same as I did, so don't be afraid to meet new people - you won't be given the "Go away, you noob" attitude there, although we do see a few people like those - but those are largely ignored and don't last long in the game :)

Terra517 07-02-2008 06:52 PM

Hm? That sounds like a really nice enviroment. ^_^ Most games tend to do that but the ones I was playing so far I've gotten nothing like that to be honest.
But what I mean by its going to take forever or I don't have time is not that my connection is slow. I have a really fast internet connection and it takes only one hour or a half hour to download games. I just am lazy! lol I know its just a click of a button but then...I'll have to find time to play it. And well with work and my drawings...and then teh game that I do currently play it will take a while to find time for this game. ^_^
But your description does sound really nice.
The relationship thing sounds like some other games I've played. Where matial options are possible and even teacher/student relationships are also available. I can't remember the games name for the one with the teacher and mentor but....it was Ok. ^_^
You know! The costume thing kinda reminds me of FLYFF costumes actually. Ever played that one? Well this isn't thread for that I guess but is it the same G potato company that made this one or something else?

Domo was not made by the creators of flyff, thats pretty much all I know. Btw, if you don't like weapon and armor durability, stay away from this game, it has it and its an extremely pointless annoyance. The game would've been better without it.

Dark Evangel 07-05-2008 07:39 PM

There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you get them fixed from time to time. All the items I got have been lasting me a very long time, and if they start showing wear, I just get them fixed at minimal cost.

DOMO is made by Aeria Games, which has done titles like Last Chaos and Pi Story. It's nothing to do with Flyff, which I have tried, but found a tad too laggy for my taste. The client in DOMO is about 1B in size, but it only took me 1 hour and 15 minutes on my computer. And it runs rather well considering I only have over 500Mb RAM.

Yes, there are relationships of all kinds ,but you can play solo or with a team as you like, though some quests will insist on your being in a team sometimes. It's reasonably well-balanced and the starting quest's so easy (no matter which race you choose) you have pretty much grasped the basics of the game by the time you get to town :)

_~Link~_ 07-07-2008 04:35 PM

You do know that the max durability wears off as time goes by whenever you fix your stuff, meaning less time to fight and more time wasting money on new armor. It is a major annoyance, a lot bigger than you made it sound. >_>; You might not find it as annoying I guess.

fuyumi_saito 07-28-2008 12:50 AM

I used to play DOMO awhile back. Since I haven't been on for so long, i know my friends on there are way ahead of me, so I don't know if I should bother going back to be honest. It's a really nice community though.

Incognito Sabellian 08-05-2008 12:21 PM

i really like the game but i have a big problem with there cam like i be walking to one area then out of the blue the grown instead of being on the ground where it should be its in my cam or i me walking and anything behind me no matter how far away it is out of the blue its in my cam and you guessed it cant see and i cant see really great concept in the game but when i play a game i need to see cant play blind folded

Crystal56 09-07-2008 08:26 AM

I have DOMO and LastChaos, both games which I really adore.

I like Domo's customization with all its classes and the like that you can chose from. My character's main class is Doctor at level 22, though I had originally planned her to go just straight musician. Doctors get more love and hate though really. Some days I just don't feel like healing. Others I mean. There's so much to choose from, and though it is a little glitchy here and there, there is a lot to work with, and lots of potential still with it.

Cais-Sandra is the name of my character there. I haven't bothered to build a second one yet. Cassandra56 is my name for Aeriagames in general if someone wants to friend me from here or something.

LastChaos is just nice in that I can kill lots of things. Quickly. And they don't make all kinds of cute noises as I do so. Less customization there, but it really is just as fun. I have a pet horse that someone gave to me. Its cute. I don't like the fact you can sacrifice pets and the like to get components and stuff for crafting, but that just means I don't have to do that part of the game. Sure I might not be the most powerful then, but I like my horsie more than anything in the world!

CrystalRyu is my only character there. On whatever roleplaying server is there...under the C name... Yeah, I'm helpful no? :XD

Both games are good. DOMO when I want cute, LastChaos when I don't. I haven't done much of any other games. These two...well, Domo was 'cause a friend invited me onto there...and LastChaos when I just needed something new.

Gary Stargazer 11-12-2008 05:53 AM

I recently started up DoMo a few days ago, it seems like a really fun game but i hate to say one thing right now.

Them is some greedy mofo's ive never see such an expensive cash shop in a game before. i mean my god almost 10 bucks for a pair of wings that dont do anything but look "pretty".

Oh and they have lv 40 weapons ... 60 dollars .... holy crap ... i would never spend 60 dollars on a game for one single item in my life, i could go out and pay for a much better designed P2P mmorpg like EQ2, WoW, or FFXI for 4 months on that.

Yea so good game ... horrible pricing, they really need to lower the prices in their item mall if they want to be taken seriously.

Arsenia 11-12-2008 09:58 AM

I've been playing DoMO since the first few days of closed beta. I've taken a break here and there just to keep from getting burned out of it, but overall I adore it. Mostly because I've got a nice collection of costumes and pets. Plus, I'm one of the elders of my guild, and I've met some really nice people on there.
As fair as the cash, it's not like anything sold in it is required for game play. Those items are typically just vanity, but there are somethings which can make leveling easier/faster.

Personally, I craft my own armor and weapons, so when the durability gets too low I just craft what I need.

Gary Stargazer 11-12-2008 08:58 PM

There is so much i still need to learn on the game, it's a bit overwhelming right now, maybe you could catch me online sometime and give me some advice, currently i am a lv 14 doctor, playing a sylph.

My char name is ChazRenault

Dont worry i wont beg, i hate people that beg others for items, i just want to learn more about the game right now.

Kieran Haines 11-20-2008 03:21 PM

I've wanted to play it, but the file was a bit on the big size, so it'd take forever for me to download it.
