Gold for PM's
 

We get gold for posting and replying but I think we should get at least a little gold for private messaging too.

It would also be super nice if we got a bit of gold for leaving messages on other members profiles.

With posting and games the main two options for gaining gold shouldn't participation be rewarded in all areas? Profile messages and pm's take just as much thought as a normal forum post.

I would suggest that gold be limited in these areas though. Maybe give a little gold for 3 or 4 pm's/messages per day or something. I just think it would help a lot of members and it makes sense to me *shrugs*

Not going to happen, people will abuse it to no end with their mules, same for why we won't have lurking gold, people will abuse it like they do on other sites

Despite some overused tones of "NO!", I have to agree.

The propensity for gold abuse for giving gold in PMs is too high. The same could be said for the visitor messaging. If we were to ever put a gold earning in, we'd have to disallow spam. :sweat: I don't know about you, but I like giving my friends silly and pointless messages.

The spammers wouldn't get very far if the limitation was properly set. I'm not saying hand out gold the exact same way as it's handed out for posts and replies but a limited amount per day.

Such as 5 gold for the first message or pm of the day. It's not meant to gain oodles of gold just a small incentive to be more active with other members.

In either case I do see your point. I've owned a few forums in my days and spammers/lurkers were always my two pet peeves as administrator. I just wanted to explain a little better ;)
