In an instant, Leane was in his arms, and he held her as if she was the only thing in life worth living for. His love for her consumed him, and the fear of her not answering it had driven him near madness before. "I don't feel hatred for you, Leane. Never have I felt that; you have to believe me! I don't want you to be a mindless dolt who does as I say. I just didn't know how to react to all these questions I didn't know the answer to, either. Don't you see that I'm just as worried as you are? All I could think of doing was get Drew to help her." His voice was pained, and though he knew his firm grip must be hurting Leane a little, he couldn't let go of her even if he wanted to. "How can you think I hate you, when all I've done is try to show you how much I love you? We both don't believe our love is reciprocated, but most likely we're both wrong."
|
Leane burried her face in his arm as her arms wrapped around him, her fingers clutching his shirt and pulling herself towards him. Still sobbing, her voice as muffled as she had her face turned towards his arm, "I don't want to believe you hate me. But when you shoved me towards Drew, the look in your eyes as you looked at me . . . I thought I had ruined everything and caused you to hate me. I can't change, and it seemed as if I were annoying you and you didn't want me around anymore. I thought you had grown tired of me . . . Fynn, I love you so much, much more than you realize. You mean everything to me. There's not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I would die without you in my life, can't you see that? You're my missing half, and always will be. If you leave me . . . Can't you see I'd do anything to keep you here with me Fynn? Can't you see that I have never lied to you about my feelings for you? Surely you must realize just how much you mean to me!"
|
His voice as calm as he could muster - though a light tremble was noticeable when he spoke up - Fynn calmly caressed Leane's head in long, gentle strokes. "I don't realize it yet, Lee. Just like you don't realize how much you mean to me." He sighed, minor annoyance at both their low self-esteem and insecurities. "I pushed you at Drew like that, because I couldn't have explained your dream; if I looked at you with anything other then minor panic, I'm really very sorry."
The fingers on her back and in her hair were trembling lightly, but his voice had now become more steady, and Fynn looked down at her as he asked, quietly, "Look at me, Lee." |
Leane, tears still flowing from her eyes, slowly turned her head towards his, raising her face until their eyes locked. "That's just it, Fynn. I do realize just how much I mean to you, I see it when you look at me, feel it when you kiss me, but I can't force myself to believe it. It feels as if I am in a dream, hanging on by a thread, and at any moment, with any mistake I make, I could wake up and it will be lost forever."
As the tears continued, she sniffled as she lowered her head, her eyes lowering away from his. |
"Lee," his voice was pleading, but calm, his fingers on her cheeks to wipe away the tears. "Look at me."
|
Raising her face back towards his, Leane sniffled as her eyes locked with his once more.
|
Holding her head in place with his hands, he spoke softly, trying to convince her. "If you realize how much I love you, how can you even begin to doubt that everything will end so easily? That threads' not going to break unless we both want it to." A small smile appeared on his face, his thumb sweetly caressing her cheek. "I'm afraid you're stuck with me."
-- In the infirmary, Anna's eyes opened slowly, her brain registering the odd sensation of seeing the world in a blur. "Where are my glasses?" |
A small smile creeping into her lips, Leane placed her right hand upon his left wrist as the tears slowed, "Do you promise?"
------- After speaking to the house elf about Kane, warning her to come back immediately if she saw any sign of him, the house elf left and Drew immediately went to the empty common room and cast the spell to allow him to speak through the fireplace. After getting the attention of a young woman, he began filling her in on Leane's dream, asking her to keep a look out for Saiyuri and Kane. When it had been settled that she and her husband would keep an eye out and send the house elf back as soon as they seen anything, Drew sat down in a chair next to the fireplace and relaxed, his thoughts changing from Saiyuri to how Fynn and Leane were doing. --------------- Liam sighed as he left the kitchen and began making his way back to the hospital wing. -------------- Madame Pomfrey smiled as she walked over to Anna, "Glad to see you awake, Miss Van Orsenhoven. Mr. O'Reily will be here after he's had a bite to eat, he told me he'd be here as soon as he could," handing Anna her glasses, "I'm afraid you gave him quite the scare, young lady. When he saw you so pale and blue, well, it brought back hard memories of his sister. You'll have to forgive the poor boy for over reacting as he did. He still hasn't fully recovered over almost losing Lucinda to pneumonia when she was about twelve or so; poor girl fell through the ice and took a turn for the worse. But, in the end she was all right, poor Liam's always been weary of the cold ever since though," handing her the vile, "Now drink this and I'll have the house elves send up something for you to eat." Smiling, Madam Pomfrey began walking back towards her office, still mumbling about how odd it was that Liam went to the Lake at this time of year and risked getting a cold himself. |
Fynn grinned lightly, nodding, "I promise."
--- In silence, Anna emptied the vile, overthinking Madam Pomfreys' words to herself. 'So that's the story...' Putting the empty vile back on the nightstand, the brunette leaned back, sighing lightly at her own frailty. 'Gah, it's been so long since I had any heart issues; why did it have to happen around him?!' |
Leane sighed as her smile faded and she lowered her head, resting her forehead on Fynn's chest as she softly whispered, "Fynn.... I don't deserve you..."
---------------- "It's a good thing ye did. I'd have worried more if i weren't around, love," Liam said softly as he walked into the Hospital Wing, catching only her last statement. As he sat on the bed next to her, inquired gently, "How're ye feelin', love? Did Madame Pomfrey say yer able t' leave or is she goin' t' keep ye?" ---------------- After a soft kiss goodnight, Josh watched as Kalli made her way down the corridor, heading towards her common room. Kalli smiled as she glanced back at Josh before she turned the corner. Josh smiled back before turning and heading back to his common room, preparing himself for Leane to bombard him with questions when he got in, seeing as how it was now nearing ten o'clock. |
"Don't say such rubbish," Fynn shook her lightly, before hugging her gently, simply holding her. "You know that's a lie."
--- With a light pout, Anna shrugged, "She didn't say anything, but I'm pretty sure I can leave soon." sighing lightly, she fell back against the bed a bit, resting her head above her head. "I don't want you to think I'm all frail or what not - there's absolutely nothing wrong with me." |
Leane sighed as she slid her other hand back around his waist, grasping his shirt in both hands as she pulled him close, shifting her head so her cheek was resting against his chest. Closing her eyes, she spoke softly, "If you say so . . ." 'but I still don't feel I deserve you, you're too good for me,' she finished in her thoughts.
-------------- Liam smiled as he reached his hand up to caress her cheek, "Aye, love, I'd never think ye were frail. We all have our off days," he said gently before placing a kiss gently upon her lips. |
He softly caressed her back, before guiding her in the general direction of the dungeons. "I know so." Fynns eyes carefully rested on her face as he turned her into his arms, causing her to walk next to him. "Because otherwise, I don't deserve you either - and I won't want that."
--- Anna's cheeks tinged a delicate blush, her lips molding against Liams as she answered his kiss. "True... It's just that you were so worried about me even before..." The brunette hesitated, before lightly placing her hand untop of his. "Madam Pomfrey told me about Luc." |
Leane couldn't help but smile at his words as the tears slowed to a stop. After wiping them from her face, she wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her head on the side of his chest. "I love you," she said softly as they walked.
------------------- A slight blush crept into his cheeks, "Aw Anna, I didn't mean fer ye t' find out the reason behind me behavior like tha'. What did she tell ye? Prob'ly made ye think me foolish 'n' over reactin'." |
Their footsteps resounded quite loudly on the stones of the lower level floors, and as they passed the Potions room - the final point en route to the Slytherin that he knew off - he warmly replied back, "I love you, too, Leane. Now you go ahead." A teasing grin appeared on his face as he added, "You look like crap.
-- A kind smile appeared on her lips as Anna shook her head calmly. "Not at all, Liam. You almost lost your sister. On the contary, it made me feel guilty for being a bit snappish before." Running a hand through her hair - and only now noticing that her hairband had been taken off - she added after a moment, "And it made me wonder why you went into the lake today." |
Leane playfully stuck her tongue out at him, "It's your fault, you know." Smiling she stood on her tip-toes and kissed him tenderly before slightly pulling back and whispering, her breath gently brushing against his lips, "Although, coming from you, I'll have to take it as a compliment and hope I can improve tomorrow!"
------------ Liam ran his hand through his hair, as was his nervous habit, before replying softly, "I figured ye'd enjoy a swim in the lake before it got too cold; was a bit off on tha' one though." |
"You look beautiful, eventhough I hate that I made you cry," he admitted gruffly, his hand reaching into her neck to pull her lips back, giving her a consuming, passionate kiss once more. As he pulled back, he gave her a small kiss, before saying, "I'll see you at breakfast."
---- Anna smiled, and shook her head enthusiastically, leaning in to place a light kiss on his cheek in gratitude. "I loved it very much - thank you." |
Before whispering softly, Leane returned with another passionate kiss, "Mmmm, I don't think I can wait that long."
---------------- Liam smiled as he kissed her forehead softly. After gently placing a kiss on her nose, he rubbed his nose softly against hers as he whispered teasingly, "Even though, love, I almos' killed ye with our lit'le adventure?" |
His own answer was accompanied by many kisses, too, and Fynn idly wondered how they had come to this point of being latched together again. "I'm afraid you'll have to. Now scoot."
---- "Even if that had been the case," Anna replied, the tip of her nose circling around his, "It'd still be worth it, with as much fun as we had." |
Leane smiled as her hands locked at the small of his back, not having any intention of moving any time soon. Looking up at him with a sly smile, she inquired teasingly, "Is that my que to run off before you get annoyed again?"
------------------- Liam smiled, placing his lips gently on her lips in response. "Aye, love, tha' we did. Comes spring we'll 'ave more fun 'cause then ye'll be warm 'n' won' freeze." |
"Oh, yeah, 'cause this is my annoyed face," Fynn teased back, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he grinned at her.
---- With a light nod, Anna agreed, too busy to answer through kissing him. As she broke away, somewhere in the hallway a clock started chiming, and Anna looked up startled; "Oh crap - I have detention!" |
Rocking back on the ball of her heel, she continued to smile up at him with a teasing look, "Hmm, maybe not annoyed, but definitely a face that's saying I've stayed too long and should go, even if I don't want to."
---------------- Liam laughd softly as he move back a bit on the bed, giving her room to get out, "Ye'd better get a move on 'n' see if ye can leave then." ---------------- Lost in his thoughts, Drew was startled by the clock striking eleven. Remembering his detention, he stretched after he stood up from his chair. Soon after, he headed out of the common room towards the main doors of the Castle. |
His nose wrinkled as his grin broadened, and he lightly poked her nose as he said, "No, this is my face saying one of us ought to do the responsible thing and at least pretend to care about our grades." -- "Oh, never mind that," Anna smiled, getting out of the bed and stepping into her shoes. "I'm diagnosing myself, and I'm just fine." Her hand reached to the table to pick up her hairband, and she pushed it neatly into her hair. "Besides, I can't leave poor Drew to do it all by himself." |
Leane rolled her eyes, "You may need to worry bout your grades, but I don't have to," she added teasingly before sticking out her tongue. Leane smiled as she laughed, her sweet laughter echoing softly through the halls, "You must remember, I'm a Supton! And Suptons always find ways to work while still being with the ones they love."
------------------ Liam smiled, "Aye, that'd be a bit mean. Ye guys are supposed t' restock Snape's supplies t'night from what Sai was tellin' me." Standing up, he kissed her softly upon the cheek before turning to leave, "'ave fun, love. Be sure t' get some sleep, we'll actually 'ave t' go t' class in the mornin'." |
His hands snaked around her waist to pull her close, kissing her smiling lips lightly. "I'll have to remember that, alright." The attack on his grades did little to him - though he was best of his year in Gryffindor house, he could by no means measure up to many of the Ravenclaws and Slytherin.
---- Already following him out, Anna nodded, "And we'll probably get in trouble for that, too. I really need to get back to studying - I know so little of all this." With "this", Anna waved her hand around as if she was holding her wand, indicating magic in general. As they stepped into the hallway, the brunette walked backwards, waving cheerfuly at Liam as the distance between them increased. "See you during mealtimes, Liam!" Throwing him a wink and kiss, she turned around, dashing towards the castle's front doors. |
