Unfortunately, I got into an argument with both of my parents last night on proposition 8. Apparently they don't think they're discriminating, and they mocked me, saying that I think I know it all when I don't. That made me very angry. |

I don't live in CA, but I mean...that IS discrimination (In my opinion..) I had a really good argument for it yesterday of how it was, but for whatever reason...my brain is friend right now. From what I just heard in the room next to me. @@ |

Actually, I have a pretty good argument myself, and it all involves the simple concept of a DICTIONARY.
Prop 8 is discrimination, and one can figure that out simply by looking at the definition of discrimination. The thing that made me angry was that my mom said it was for gays to not be able to marry because they never had the right in the first place, so it's not like we took something away. My counter argument would have been: women didn't have the right to vote some years ago, did that make it okay to keep the right away from them? |
Wow...Sad thing is...I can imagine my mom saying that.
But...I dunno if she would. She doesn't really care about it, since it's in CA. But that's a really good argument. They shouldn't take away something, especially if they don't currently have it. Def. women rights is a good example of that. |
