Midsummers party, anyone?

well it's almost time for Midsummers party where I live, and I'm sure other countries in Europe celebrate it too :3
I was just wondering if anyone here on Mene knows about this party or actually celebrates it ^^ I'd love to hear how it is on other countries..

So, I live in Finland and I just ran into this article about Midsummers party.. and got to the part where they tell how it is on Finland. First there was this boring religious origin crap, but then, after that, there was this! :

Midsummerday is also the Day of the Finnish Flag. The flag is hoisted at 6 pm on Midsummer eve and flown all night till 9 pm the following evening.

* Midsummer in Finland

I can't believe someone actually put that on Wikipedia :sarcasm:
it's true, but come on, makes all of us look so bad =D

Oh my. n.n;;
Well, here in the states, I haven't heard of a Midsummer's party. Life would be a lot more interesting if there was such a thing, though!

The thread title makes me think of Midsummer Night's Dream. XD

I hadn't heard of it before.... But it sounds sort of like European Mardi Gras, no? XD
Except I think Mardi Gras is celebrated in Europe too.... *shrug*
