Burying her face into her hands, Helen let out an exasperated groan, thinking back to the woman she had bitten all those years ago. Victoria had never put that fact down. What was so bad about being a vampire, though? “I’ll deal with that as soon as I clear up a few things concerning what the hunter you saw earlier knows. Thank you for warning me,” she said, gesturing for Candy to take Julietta up to her room. “By the way, the twins are coming later, Candy. You know what to do. They’re going to tail the hunters that happen to be in town. Julietta, I expect you to at least help out.” With a smile, the queen disappeared to the lower levels of the house.

“Come on, then,” pushing open the glass door; he waited for her, watching the sky start to turn lighter. “Are you sure you can manage, though?” Adrien asked playfully, Noire and Blanc in hand and heading to the forest.

Soquira 07-05-2008 06:06 PM

Victoria smirked and walked outside. "I'm pretty sure I can." She paused, "I don't sleep well anyway, so no point in trying." As she looked around, she watched as the inhabitants of the town began to open their shops and go about their daily business. It amused her, the world was so advanced in technology, and yet this town reminded her of life in the 1600's. It was peaceful to her if you didn't count all the vampires running amok.

With a sigh of relief, Candy led Julietta up to her room, and when the young heiress was settled in bed, she left the room, shutting the door quietly. As morning had come, her work was done for the day and she headed out the door, walking down the path in silence. Even though daylight was finally appearing, the forest still gave her the creeps.

As she entered town, she looked thoughtful. It wouldn't hurt to go and get her groceries before heading home. Not paying attention to where she was going, she managed to walk straight into a man walking with a blond woman, managing to knock herself over as well as him if he didn't catch his balance.

Atlene 07-05-2008 06:21 PM

“Of course you—” Adrien never finished his sentence as a girl almost knocked him straight down. Grabbing her wrist to pull her up, he looked at her carefully. “My, fancy meeting you here, heiress,” he snapped, though as he stared at her face and scanned her over, he had realized that she was as human as he was.

So did that mean that those vampires could change their faces to mimic someone else? That was the first time the thought had ever crossed his mind.

Soquira 07-05-2008 07:25 PM

Victoria frowned as she looked around. Heiress? This girl was as human as any. Unless he meant another kind of heiress? Like of a company or something. Frowning still, she decide to keep her mouth shut and hope to get an answer about it later. After all, she normally didn't feel like getting involved in the business of others unless of course it was her job to.

Candy looked up at the man wirh a puzzled expression. "Heiress?" She repeated, "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid your mistaken. I'm anything but that." She looked around for a moment before realization hit her, "Wait, you're not mistaking me for Lady Julietta by chance?" Covering her mouth with one hand, she stopped speaking. It wasn't necessary, but Vincent generally asked her not to speak of the vampire family to anybody she didn't know, and even though she hadn't said anything of major importance, she still had mentioned one of the family members.

Atlene 07-05-2008 07:48 PM

His grip on her wrist loosened as he let go, only to be counter-attacked by the mention o her name. “Julietta? So you know her. It’s rare to find a human girl knowing anything about vampires, the royal family too.” His eyes narrowed.

Sorry it’s so short. I need to go fix lunch, since it’s my turn. >.<

Soquira 07-05-2008 08:06 PM

Candy looked at him nervously, I knew I said too much......She thought bitterly. Oh well, it was too late to worry about that past now. "Well, you see, I work as their maid. That's the only reason I know the little that I do know about the family." Though of course, she knew much more than a little, she had been the maid for the family since she had turned thirteen. It had been her first job after all. Looking around, a frown was playing at her lips, the blond woman was clearly a vampire, though how she was a awake, Candy had no idea. This must have been the Victoria that Julietta had spoken of in the living room before returning to bed. Her gaze met the man's once more and she looked at him, "I'm afraid that's all I can say as to why I kow them........"

Looking down the street, she kicked herself mentally once again. Why did she have to mention Julietta? It was that stupid mouth of hers, she never had been great at keeping it shut, especially when she rambled, anything and everything seemed to slip out then.

Atlene 07-05-2008 10:01 PM

Listening at her explanation, Adrien gave a lazy nod. “Maid? Surprise they didn’t bite you yet.” Slipping the guns back into their rightful place, he shook his head, unable to make anything out of the situatin. Maid of the royals, a human, but she wasn’t killed. And she looked like het heiress, this didn’t make any sense.

Without warning someone appeared and dragged the girl away, and he half-thought that he should chase after her, to get more answers. But remembering why he was actually there, he shrugged it off. “Are you sure you can manage? You look tired.”

From their high perch up in the trees, the twins gazed down at the huntress they had encountered earlier, another hunter, they presumed, and Candy, looking nervous. Yawning, Charlené jumped down from her perch, pulling her hood over her face and taking Candy by the hand. “How many times have I told you not to wander? Come on,” with that said, she forcefully dragged the girl away.

“Don’t wander, don’t go to town,” Charlené hissed under her breath once they were a god distance away from the hunters. “You look like Lady Julietta, the hunter seems to know that. Be wary of that”

Soquira 07-05-2008 10:12 PM

Victoria nodded, "I'm sure I can." As she looked around, she brushed hair behind her shoulders. "Tell you what," She stated calmly, "If I get that tired, I'lll let you know, and then I'll go find somewhere to sleep, deal?" Smiling she looked down the road and looked up at the already bright sun. "Besides," She added, "I get the feeling that today is going to be a beautiful day."

Without another word to him, she began to skip down the road. Which was odd, as the normally calm and reserved woman never acted that happy about anything, and certainly never skipped around. Stopping, she looked at Adrien.

"So....I take it the heiress is a vampire's kid? I thought they couldn't have children. Not live ones at any rate."

Candy looked at the twin and grimaced, "Sorry." She muttered, "I was just going to the store, I didn't expect to run into a hunter..." She looked around before lowering her voice, "And does it really matter if the hunter knows that I look like the Lady?" She glanced around once more, "I have a feeling they've already met, or better yet, I know they've already met."

Atlene 07-05-2008 10:40 PM

He stared at her, watching the blonde woman skip down the road. Completely shocked, it took him a while before he snapped out of the state. “Who are you and what have you done to Victoria Lee?” Adrien asked, his tone slightly horrified but all teasing. Following her, he smiled, and then shook his head.

“They can have kids. Ever wonder where royal and noble blood comes from? Other vampires, not bitten ones,” the blond replied, walking down the path and deeper into the forest. “Where was that house? I swear it was down this path…”

Releasing Candy, she felt Charles land beside them and put an arm around Candy. “Good morning love. It does, it does matter, because we can’t risk either of you getting shot. For reasons, go ask Her Majesty. We’re not really sure on the details.”

“So I’m stuck with the girl and you go watch the hunters?” Charles turned to ask his sister with a grin plastered on his face. With a slow nod, Charlené turned into a black cat and ran off to the direction of the forest.

Soquira 07-05-2008 11:20 PM

"Figures," Victoria said as she followed him down the path. "Still its a little eerie. I mean don't get me wrong, I love kids, really truely I do. But I swear, they're kids wouldn't really be alive, and they'd automatically be damned, not exactly fair to them, is it? They have no control over how they turn out. But that's life for you." As she looked around at the forest scenery, she smirked. "Adrien, you're a vampire hunter and you manage to lose a house of all things? I'm sure it didn't just up and walk away." Of course, her tone was teasing as it often was when she was speaking to Adrien. Looking up, she pointed off about one hunded yards in the distance, "I think I've found it." She said quietly.

Candy looked at Charles and placed her hands on her hips. "Stuck with me?" She inquired in mock injured voice, "I can't believe you would say something like that Charlie! I'll have to go and cry in a corner somewhere." Looking around, she crossed her arms and sighed. "So.........what now? I still have to get my groceries out of the way, but I'm sure you don't want to hang around for that, and shouldn't you two be sleeping?"

Atlene 07-05-2008 11:48 PM

“That’s very insulting,” he retorted, looking at the direction she was pointing at. “It looks so much brighter in the sunlight,” Adrien said, “Can’t recognize it, really.” Shrugging as he thought back at what she said about the vampire kids, he managed a weak smile. “Vampire kids are pretty adorable; they’re like normal kids with fangs. It makes them so much harder to shoot in the head,” he shuddered at the memory that happened six months ago.

A small black cat raced past them, meeting up with another cat sitting on the porch. Purring, the black cat sat up, turning its storm gray eyes to face the two hunters. “Cats, cute,” he muttered, taking out his guns again.

Placing a hand over his heart, Charles gasped, “Don’t be like that, it’s hurting me! You know I love you very much m’dear.” He buried his head at the crook of her neck for a second, murmuring, “Very, very much,” before realizing what he was doing and snapping up. Taking her by the arm, the vampire grinned. “Little sunlight can’t hurt us. Besides, if you guys can go without sleep during the night, we can too.”

Giving her arm a slight tug, he said, “I’m supposed to watch over you ‘til you get home. If it’s grocery shopping, shall be it!”

Soquira 07-06-2008 12:19 AM

(Yay, I can get on without sneaking. ^.^ My step-dad went fishing. ^^)

Victoria growled quietly at the sight of the cats, the vampiress had never liked the furry little animals. She'd been allergic to them in her human days for that matter. Glancing towards Adrien her frown deepened. "Of all the animals in the world they, could keep, they have to keep cats, don't they?" As the two approached the house, her eyes shifted from the cats which she had been glaring at with contempt to the house. The house seemed cozy, friendly even. That completely went against stereotype. Oh well, no harm done there. Some old couple who hated people could just by the house after they finished their work there.

"So........what are you planning to do now exactly?"

Candy smiled slightly, "If you say so." Well, there was no denying that she had always enjoyed Charles' company, the younger of twins always had managed to lighten the atmosphere. Walking down the street with him, she entered the local grocery store. Compared to the rest of the town, aside from the pubs, and some of the inhabitants home, the local shopping centers were the most modernized areas.

Entering the store, she headed straight for the aisle that was filled with sweets and began to place various candies and several types of cookies into her basket. Hence, the nickname she had earned as a small girl. Looking at Charles, she smiled sweetly, hand him the basket, and said as innocently as possible, "Carry this for me?" Before grabbing another basket at the end of the aisle, and heading off towards the produce.

Atlene 07-06-2008 01:09 AM

The cat’s gaze made a shiver rack down his spine, something just wasn’t quite right. He watched it as it licked its paw, grooming itself, all the while staring at them. “Black cats are bad lucky, Victoria,” he added, “And it’s not just a superstition.” The other cat let out a hiss to the black cat and jumped up to the roof, disappearing. Yet the black cat still kept a stony gaze on them.

Dismissing the fact, Adrien turned to Victoria. “Get familiar with the area, and then if I’m lucky shoot some of them.” With a smirk, the blond headed down the road, he gazed beyond the trees. More housetops arose up fro the trees, elaborate Victorian houses one would normally see in horror movies.

Running after the girl, Charles smiled. ‘Someday, someday, calm down,’ he firmly told himself, amber eyes cast down onto the ground. Entering the grocery store, the scent of blood filled his nose. Certainly not human blood, since it smelled stale, but animal blood from the meat aisle. Watching Candy shove the basket into his hands, he flashed her a smile.

“Don’t get so much, you’ll get a toothache, silly girl,” Charles said, following her down the produce aisle. The scent of animal blood was stronger now, and he had to bite his lip to prevent himself from springing onto anyone. It was primal instinct, he didn’t need to eat, but there was bloodlust right now.

Sorry, I was eating. >.<

Soquira 07-06-2008 01:24 AM

Victoria jumped onto a tree branch and looked around, the area. She could tell the area was definitely filled with them, this would certainly be interesting. Still something caught her curiosity. The house with the royals was in front of all the others, one would expect it to be in the back, that way in the event of a raid, the vamps in the household would be able to escape with some warning. Odd. Shrugging it off, she continued making her way through the area, keeping an eye on her surroundings.

After she had finished her shopping, she looked at Charles. "C'mon," Candy said, with a small smile, "I'm done for now." With that she took her basket, she started towards the front of the store where she used to self-check-out to scan all her items, and bag them neatly.

(Eh, a little short, but writer's block has managed to get the better of me. >.<))

Atlene 07-06-2008 01:35 AM

The cat sat there for a moment before turning into a moth and fluttering behind them. Charlené watched them carefully, trying not to get eaten by anything while she was in moth form.

Watching his surroundings with interest, he noticed that aside from the Royals houses, most of them were bunched up together, squished against each other. Glancing around, he had a feeling that they were being watched, but nothing stirred as he listened and observed. “Look,” he gestured for Victoria to come closer, spotting a couple walking back to their houses after a night’s hunting.

Her voice brought him out of his daydreaming, and Charles followed with a curt smile on his face. “Let me help you with the bags, then,” he said, taking all the grocery bags with one hand and hooking his arm around hers with the other. “Come on then, I have to get you home and have you change my appearance before finding Charlené.”

ooc//
Apparently I have it too. D:

Soquira 07-06-2008 01:43 AM

Victoria moved closer to him, and watched the couple. That was interestng enough in its own way. As she watched them, one hand rested on the small bag where she kept her silver, and the other rested on the holster where she kept her one handgun. "They're definitely populated." She whispered, "Do you think we ought to get more hunters?"

Candy smiled slightly, "All right." She looked him over for a moment, "And what will I have the pleasure of doing to your appearance this time around?" She was always happier before changing somebody's appearance, her family had never understood why, but she generally felt at peace when she was playing with appearances. Whether it was her own or another's, it really didn't matter.

And then, she asked, "What if I changed my hair to blond? Knowing my ex, he'd say I'd look like a porcelain doll, but I'm not sure."

Atlene 07-06-2008 02:00 AM

“I think so… Do you want me to call the agency later?” Twirling Blanc around and slipping it back into his pockets, he pulled out Noire, aiming for the head of the woman. Contemplating if he should shoot or not, he hesitated. If they caused a commotion something would happen. Pulling the trigger, the woman immediately turned into fine, pearl dust. The man looked bewildered, looking around for who attacked his partner. “Will you do the honors?” Adrien smiled, aiming again just in case.

Turning to face her, Charles thought for a moment before saying, “It doesn’t matter. Anything.” Hearing her ask what it would be like if she turned her hair blonde, he smiled. “You would look like a porcelain doll… But hardly delicate,” he said jokingly.

“I wouldn’t like it if you changed your appearance, though. Then you wouldn’t be Candy anymore, at least, you wouldn’t look like yourself.”

Soquira 07-06-2008 02:56 PM

Victoria nodded, and took a syringe filled with a rather unpleasant looking green liquid out of her bag. Taking aim, she threw it and hit the remaining vampire in the chest. She watched as the vampire turned the same shade of green before shrivelling up. Well, the scientist may have failed at creating a cure, but he had certainly made an interesting weapon. Though she still didn't see the point in the chloryphll(sp?....I know that's way off.)

"You can call the society later, I suppose."

Candy walked down the street with Charles and looked at him curiously for a moment. "If you say so," She said with a shrug before continuing, "I'm thinking of making your hair darker, and I might give you gray eyes. And your skin tone will be darker as well."

Atlene 07-06-2008 05:49 PM

Watching the vampire shrivel up and die, he turned to look at the huntress. “That’s a rather interesting failed experiment, eh?” Taking a few steps towards the now empty vampire town, as it seemed to be, he watched. There were places they could ambush and attack without alerting too many of them at the same time. “They won’t miss up on a chance like this, obviously. And we can’t work alone, not with this project,” Adrien replied.

Following obediently, he nodded at her suggestion. “I suppose that would work just fine!” Charles said cheerily, proceeding to drag her down the street. The bloodlust had calmed down already, but he couldn’t help but shudder at what would have happened with Candy didn’t drag him out of the grocery store in time. It wasn’t what he would have done to someone else, but what he would have done to her.

“Why aren’t you afraid of us?” he asked, suddenly stopping as they neared the edge of the forest.

ooc//
It's spelled chlorophyll. That's pretty close, actually.

Soquira 07-06-2008 06:45 PM

[Thought so, I never could spell the word, no matter how much I looked at it. >.< It was a tad bit irritating in Biology.]

Victoria walked a few steps ahead of him and looked around. "Thats very true."
[Here I was thinking my writer's block had vanished, oh well.]

Looking at him, Candy brushed her hair out of her eyes and shrugged, "I really couldn't tell you." She looked around before looking at him once more, "I lived with my parents until I was thirteen, they were hunters actually - not vampires hunters though, they hunted werewolves. And frankly, if you ask me those things are terrifying." She paused. "My parents were killed during a hunt, when I was thirteen, and I was sent here to live with my grandmother. She was a sweet old lady, ill though; so I decided to get a job and earn a little more money for her. I met the queen shortly after that, through her husband actually, see he's my great-great-great-great-great-, add a few more greats, uncle or something like that. I think he had a sister whom I'm somehow descended from? I don't know."

Realizing that she was rambling she stopped, and paused, a light blush on her face. Continuing where she had left off before rambling she said, "Well, she allowed me to work as their maid....and after my grandmother passed on, they've sort of been like a second family to me. I won't lie, there are some things about vampires that freak me out, but I have nothing against them personally...."

Atlene 07-06-2008 07:04 PM

Landing with a gentle thump behind Adrien, with one fluid motion Charlené grabbed him in a compression lock, watching him writhe slightly in pain. The two guns slipped out of his hands and dropped onto the floor with a heavy clink. “You wanted a rematch, you’re getting one,” the vampire said with a smile, snapping her fingers and holding a small flame close to his face.

“Shoot me, and he’s coming with me,” she cooed, eyes daring the huntress to make a move.

--

“Is that so? Werewolves, eh?” he mused, intently taking in the rest of her tale with the occasional nod and smile. “So you’re related to the HV, no wonder you look like the Lady…” Charles was tracing random patterns on her arm, gaze intently fixed on her neck. “What would you do if one of us bit you…?” he was uncertain as he asked the question, voice trembling lightly.

Placing his hand on her head and ruffling her hair slightly, Charles gave her a small smile. “Just kidding.” And then he fell silent, raising his head up to listen to something Candy probably couldn’t, seeing that she was a human. “I think you can manage from here, don’t die on me, okay?” Turning to give her a quick peck on the cheek, Charles disappeared in neck breaking speed, heading towards the origin of all the commotion.

Soquira 07-06-2008 07:17 PM

Victoria growled quietly as Charlene grabbed Adrien. She had had a feeling that there was something up with the entire place. It had been too quiet. Still, the other was right, there was no way she could shoot without Adrien going down as well. One of her hands rested on the bag that held her smaller weapons.

"I do remember saying I wanted a rematch dear, but I was under the impression I'd have a say as to when?" She held one of the syringes in her hand and fingered it nervously, and her look clearly told the other to do something.

She glanced toward Adrien, before looking around. Hadn't the other had twin? Where had he gotten to? Well, one vampire was certainly easier than two at once.

Atlene 07-06-2008 07:34 PM

“Don’t even dare,” Charles said promptly, stopping beside his sister. “It’s nice to see you again, huntress.” Giving a slight mock bow, the younger twin smiled. “We’re busy, and we can’t have you guys running around like headless chickens, now can we?” he said with a smile, placing a hand on the tree bark and icing it up.

Still smiling, Charles announced, “Well, we’re going to borrow him for now. We’ll return him, eventually. Oh, and don’t try to follow.” As he talked, a ring of fire appeared around them. “There are various quirks to being born this way.”

Shoving Adrien into the Royals’ house, the older twin still hadn’t loosened her grip on him. “We got him, Your Majesty,” she yelled.

Gently pushing open Julietta’s door, Helen sat down on her bedside. “Wake up. You have to meet who the twins brought over today,” the queen whispered, nudging her daughter slightly.

Soquira 07-06-2008 07:54 PM

(Oh, yeah. I'm gonna drop Vicent as a character. >.< He's too.............well, I don't have a word for it, but its a little to hard for me to portray him the way I want to.)

Of course, Victoria didn't follow, but she did glare after the vampires with a look of utter contempt.

Julietta sat up and yawned, "All right..." She murmered, standing up brushing her hair out of her face. How is constantly fell into her fac when she slept, she didn't know, she didn't move.... Leaving the room, she headed down the stairs thinking.

If this person isn't worth, I'm gonna be pissed. Of course, the young lady always was cranky when she running on a lack of sleep, but there were worse things in life, weren't there?

As she made her way into the front roo, she stopped seeing the hunter from earlier. So....he had managed to get himself caught. What a genius he was.

Victoria smirked as an idea popped into her head. Instead of heading towards the house, she hurried towards the village. Now just to track down the maid, Catherine? No that wasn't it, but her name wasn't her top concern.

She walked at a fast pace, but silently and when she spotted the maid entering a house, it didn't take more than a few seconds to grab her, and cover her mouth. Thank God nobody was around.

Kiicking the door shut, she picked up the maid, and carried her into the forest. It was amazing how light humans were. Her conscience was poking at her, as the maid looked terrified, but she ignored and when she finally stopped. She set the maid down by a tree branch, and tied her up with the rope she kept in a second bag.

Looks like they'd just have to arrange a trade. The heiress for the maid. Sure, she wasn't specifically after the heiress, but Adiren did plan on getting her after all, and if Helen was focused on her poor little daughter, it would be easier to get rid of her as well. So much for waiting for more hunters.

Atlene 07-06-2008 08:13 PM

“Bastards, ganging up on me…” Adrien muttered under his breath, remembering that both of his guns were still on the forest floor somewhere. This was utterly hopeless as far as he was concerned, cornered by all those vampires without a weapon. The vampire that was holding onto him seemed to have heard, and tightened her grip on him, causing him to wince slightly. Damn, damn, damn, how was he going to get out? The only other weapon he had on him was a dagger, but it didn’t prove to be much of use since there were so many of them right now.

The vampire holding him seemed bored, checking her nails and then suddenly sinking into a curtsy, forcing him to drop down too. The other vampire had sunk down into a low bow as well. And there they were, the stupid heiress standing there and someone else, the queen, he supposed, by the way she held herself up.

“You are to deal with him, Julietta,” Helen said softly, green eyes turning to her daughter. “I expected more from you. But that doesn’t matter, as long as he is here and we can get rid of him.”
