Charlené turned away from Candy before shrugging slightly. “It is your choice. I will not pry and try to change your mind, then,” she spoke, watching as the taller buildings of town coming to view. “If you ever change your mind, I will bring you to my mother.” Granted, Charlené herself couldn’t change memories, but her mother most definitely could.

“Do be careful at night. You are no longer under the protection of the Royal family,” she added softly, almost as though she didn’t want Candy to hear it.

“I, Helen Nikolaus, hereby ensure the safe return of the three humans currently dwelling in my house, in exchange that you, Andrew Vale, do no harm to our kind. Do we have an agreement?” she turned to him, looking serious for a moment before smiling. “The blood has to fade before the contract sets. And of course, if you try to leave in the three days time, my people will be allowed to rip you into pieces.”

Soquira 09-01-2008 07:08 PM

It didn't take the vampires long to cut to the chase did it? Well Andrew was sure that he could survive three days and after that he'd probably go back home and rest or even travel for awhile. This was the last thing he wanted his family to find out about. "It is agreed." He stated quietly, keeping his gaze lowered.

Candy grimaced hearing the last statement and sighed. That was to be expected after all. "All right then," She said quietly as she brushed out of her face. "I suppose it may be best if I actually leave this area completely," She didn't plan on going to stay with relatives of course, too used to the idea of living on her own. Her voice was too bright to be convincing as she added, "It can't be that hard, can it?"

She kept her gaze ahead of her for a moment, seeing the buildings of the town beginning to come into view. Glancing back towards Charlene she hesitated before speaking, "So, he really said that?"

Sighing, Julietta frowned as she looked around in her bedroom. It was clear that the girl hadn't spent much time there, it was far too neat for her liking. As she paced the room, she gently tossed books and other small items into random places, that way it would seem a little more normal to her.

So there were going to be hunters in her home for the next few days. This was going to be interesting. Part of her wanted to go and bother them, play with them a little as they really couldn't do anything about it. Another part of her - the wiser part of her said to leave the hunters alone. Too bad she never listened to that part of her consciounce.

Leaving her room, she walked down the hall, past her sister's room and stopped outside of Adrien's. Knocking once, she entered the room and looked around. "I'm bored, you ought to entertain me."

Atlene 09-01-2008 08:44 PM

Charlené turned to look at Candy, nodding. “I’m sure you will make it well on your own.” She fell quiet at the other girl’s next statement before she responded, “Why would I lie? He is my brother after all.” She then smiled slightly as the town came into full view. “You should be going now; I have been mingling too much with humans lately and haven’t eaten.”

Her smile brightened slightly at his agreement and she rolled the parchment paper up, tying it close. “Your room will be next to my husband’s study. Dinner is at eight, if you’re late I will refuse to feed you.” Helen smiled, glancing up at the clock and rolling up her sleeves. “We can tolerate human food, if that’s what you’re thinking at the moment. Not much of nutritional value, though…”

“I don’t care if this is your house, wait for me to answer before you come in,” he stated, not even looking up at her as he sat on the bed, wrapping bandages around the flesh wound. “I don’t have time to entertain you. Go entertain yourself, Princess,” Adrien then responded to her demand, tying the ends of the bandages.

Finally looking at her, he raised an eyebrow as if asking, ‘Well, are you going to leave?’

Soquira 09-01-2008 08:58 PM

Candy nodded, "Well, bye then." She said quickly before hurrying off into the town. Candy sighed as she slowed her pace and continued looking ahead of her. It was weird not being able to tell herself that she still worked for thre Royal family, and she was sure going to have a fun time trying to leave, but oh well. It was probably the best thing for her.

Andrew looked around, and watched the other vampire seat herself on a couch, her face expressionless. Looking back at the Queen he ran a hand through his hair before clearing his throat. He wasn't sure of how to bring up the next matter at hand. Closing his eyes he practically forced the words out, "So....what about the divorce?"

Julietta grinned and skipped over to him, seating herself next to him on the bed. "Nah, that'd be too easy." She replied to his statement about waiting for him to answer the door. "You humans tend to move to slow anyway," Shrugging she glanced around before looking at him. "So, if you don't mind me asking.....what exactly do after this is all over? You can't go back to hunting. Well you could if you have a deathwish but you seem brighter than that."

Atlene 09-01-2008 10:09 PM

Helen’s expression seemed to change almost immediately at the mention of the divorce, but it was normal, the Queen was known for her sudden personality shifts. “We will contact a lawyer, as I am assuming that Kathryn’s marriage with you is genuinely legal. Of course, it will be within three days time. Do you have anything to say to her?” she asked; the motherly façade returned just as she graced him with another smile.

“You’re a weird one,” he laughed, facing Julietta fully before answering, “If I can’t hunt vampires I can still hunt werewolves. The Hunter’s Association doesn’t only involve you guys, you know. We’re also hit men for hire. I have plenty of things I can fall back to when I get back to the human world.”

Soquira 09-01-2008 10:30 PM

Andrew looked thoughtful for a moment. Was there anything he wanted to say to Kathryn? There was certainly quite a few things that he could say, some of them more likely to get him slapped than anything. Shaking his head he spoke quietly, "I'm afraid not. We never really talked anyway," Then as though just remembering something important his voice raised slightly, "Actually there is a matter she and I need to attend to - I'd like my legal documents back."

Julietta's eye brightened hearing him mention the prospect of hunting werewolves; after alll she had never been very fond of the creatures. In all honesty she despises the beings with a passion. "Maybe you aren't as bad as I thought." She said as she brushed her hair out of her eyes. She looked around the room, apparently in thought, it was odd now that she had thought about it - he had had plenty of opportunities to kill her and yet he never had. Rather than bringing it up she continued speaking. "If we hadn't had all these issues I probably would have tried to tag along if you ever went after those dogs." She wrinkled her nose in disgust, "Nasty things in my opinion, I think we vampires are quite tame in comparison."

Atlene 09-01-2008 11:49 PM

She had already stood up, turning in the direction of the kitchen before he spoke. Helen looked at Andrew with an almost curious expression on her face before saying, “Papers? She had some with her and said something about throwing them in the fireplace. I don’t know about it, you would have to go ask her yourself.” Shrugging, she turned to Esmereina, motioning for her to follow her to the kitchen.

Watching her perk up slightly as he mentioned hunting werewolves, Adrien rolled his eyes. They were all the same to him, monsters that endangered the lives of the innocent and deserved to be dead. Of course, he didn’t say it, but merely shrugged. “Mhmm, but even so, you wouldn’t know where the next target is. We are assigned targets most of the time.” A thought that crossed his mind made him amused. He had only been passing this town, and Julietta was to blame for leading him to the Royal’s house.

Soquira 09-02-2008 12:01 AM

Esmereina stood up promptly with a contemptful glance towards Andrew who had hurried up the stairs; she followed the Queen into the kitchen. "Yes ma'am?" She asked as she glanced behind her before looking at the Queen once more. Playing with a strand of hair she waited for the woman to speak once more.

"That is very true, but I find it ironic that you say most of the time." Shrugging she stood up and began to walk around the room, one finger on her chin. "But then again, I suppose there must be exceptions to that every now and then." As she walked back over to him, she smiled slightly - an amused, teasing smile. "So, Mr. Hunter.....it looks like you are all bandaged up....how about we play a little game of hide-and-seek?" She frowned slightly, the idea may have seemed childish but generally her games never turned out the way humans expected. She paused before continuing once more, taking an unecessary breath. "Or if you'd prefer not to, we can do something else. I'm feeling competitve and wouldn't mind making a bet."

Atlene 09-02-2008 01:02 AM

“Most of the time is only considering that I’ve killed more off the job these past two days. If there’s no target there’s no pay, and pay is everything these days.” At her suggestion he shook his head. “Name’s Adrien. And no. I’m not a vampire, Princess, I don’t heal as quickly and I can tell you, it hurts right now.” Then contemplating at her suggestion of a bet, he sighed. “Bet? Well then, what do you have in mind?”

Closing the door and making sure no one was listening, Helen faced Esmereina, the usual cold and regal exterior back. “I want you to dispose of them once they arrive back to the town. The contract only ensures their safe return to the humans, and nothing more.” Opening up the refrigerator, she beamed, wondering what she should make for dinner. If one didn’t know, Helen could have been a normal doting old woman.

Soquira 09-02-2008 01:17 AM

Esmereina nodded as she looked around. If she hadn't gotten used to the Queen's personality shifts she would have considered the woman more than a tad bit odd. As she spoke, her tone was unusually cheerful, an unusual thing considering the vampiress was known for her usual calm and rather strict demeaner. "I'm sure that can be done easily. And by the way, as for dinner I myself would suggest something with terriyaki. I don't know, it's something I've always liked when we've had human.............guests."

Julietta twirled a strand of hair with her finger before crossing her arms. "Lets see.....how about as for my part of the bet, if I win you have to do whatever I say for however long I say." Watching him out of the corner of her eye she continued, "So what do you want and what are we betting on exactly? That can be up to you, since that would be only fair."

Atlene 09-02-2008 03:59 AM

Hiding the surprised face that she had when she heard Esemereina’s tone; Helen shuffled through the fridge, and then replied, “Teriyaki… Maybe chicken then.” Bringing out the necessary ingredients, she then shuffled around the cupboards, looking for the cutting board and various other utensils. “Remember to get rid of their bodies somewhere where they can’t find them,” she commented, turning on the tap so she could wash the vegetables.

“However long? No, the risk’s too big. I’ll be here for three days, so three days.” He held up three fingers as if to prove his point. “Hrm. The same conditions as you. And the bet? Madelyn’s wearing a locket right now, want to try and see who can steal it first?” A smirk appeared on his face. “Of course, without her knowing, since she can and will murder someone in their sleep.”

Soquira 09-02-2008 11:15 AM

Esmereina said nothing for a moment and merely contented herself with leaning against the counter and looking thoughtful. This would be interesting, and she was beginning to wonder why she simply hadn't dealt with the hunters in the first place. It would have saved so much trouble. Running a hand through her hair, she looked at the Queen before speaking once more. "And what if in the unlikely chance one gets away?"

Julietta smiled an even more mischievous smile. "All right." That sounded fair enough. Of course, she doubted that he could get it first, after all she was a hell of a lot faster - and quieter for that matter. Standing up she started to walk towards the door but stopped and looked over at him once more. "Question. What if neither of us gets it? I find that unlikely as I know I will, but still."

Atlene 09-04-2008 04:49 AM

“I expect you know how to deal with that, Esmereina,” she replied, now slicing chicken onto thin strips.

Adrien merely smiled. “Then Madelyn will have her way. It’s only fair.” Then the smirk was back before he said, “Don’t be so arrogant, Princess. You are a vampire and she is a hunter. Her instincts are good. Not to mention she’s a thief herself.”

School started today. My brain officially died.

Soquira 09-05-2008 10:42 AM

((Yeah I know how that is. I would have replied yesterday but my boyfriend and I broke up after almost six months, and my creativity kind of.........died. =))

Esmereina glanced out the window. "Well, I'll be heading home then." She said quietly. "Hope you have fun with them the next few days," Hurrying out of the kitchen she headed home.

Julietta said nothing. Well it couldn't be that hard of course. "Well, good luck then." She said brightly as she left the room. Hmm, he had called her arrogant. That was just plain rude in her opinion. She walked down the hall in silence, bypassing Madelyn's room. She wasn't going to try it now of course, it would make more sense until they were asleep.

Walking into the kitchen she looked at her mother, "So whats for dinner?" Her tone was casual and she looked rather bored as she glanced around.

Atlene 09-07-2008 09:56 PM

Just heating up the sauté pan, Helen turned around to smile at Julietta. “Teriyaki chicken, rice, and sautéed vegetables, no blood tonight, I’m afraid.” Smiling, the older woman reached for the hopped vegetables and threw it all into the pan. “So how is it? Not feeling awkward are we?”

Oh you poor dear. -hugs- Well, that happens. =] My life outside of school just went poof. So busy.

Soquira 09-13-2008 04:01 AM

[Heh, I sort of got mine back. I've had a busy past few days. ^^; It's weird for me not to get online longer than a few minutes to check my mail and do my English work... ^^;]

Awkward? Why would she feel awkward about having their guests. Shaking her head, she shrugged. "Nah, I don't see any reason why I'd have to. I expect they'll keep to themselves." Though it was highly unlikely she would ever do such a thing,

Atlene 09-13-2008 05:26 AM

Smiling, Helen shook her head. “I would think that you wouldn’t feel comfortable with them around. I saw it in the other’s expression; they find it strange that I would have such arrangements.” Stirring the vegetables with a wooden spoon, she peered down at it, poking at it slightly before deciding that it was well done enough.

Madelyn yawned, rolling off the bed and sitting up, thoroughly bored with the situation. She couldn’t bug Adrien, Andrew seemed like the kind to ignore you, and she couldn’t have any fun with the vampires. This arrangement was great, isn’t it? Gently pushing open the door, she stepped out, wondering when the vamps ate dinner.

Soquira 11-07-2008 11:17 PM

Julietta shook her head and smiled slightly. "I think it ought to be fun." She said quietly, as she glanced out a window. "Lately I've noticed that humans are pretty amusing, well more amusing than I first thought them to be and this little bunch is no exception to that," She paused and remained silent for a moment. "Of course, I'll be sure to behave myself while they're here, in case that's one of the things you're worried about." Glancing out the window again, she sighed quietly and brushed a strand of hair out of her face. Now to worry about how to get that locket...
