Threads of Fate
Another old game for the Playstation!
Threads of Fate Wonder if anyone here has played it? It's popular in a way or was. You get to choose between two characters so its pretty nice. The chirpy and hot-tempered princess or the cool and mysterious boy fighter. Story Counts on whom you choose: Story: Based on which character you choose it's just slightly different. When you start the game up you have a choice of Mint or Rue. The quests and story are very similar its only that you see the other characters point of view in the game. His story is more serious and more into the story than mints. If you want a serious story which is full of mystery its best to choose him. Unlike Mint's story his is more like a 'novel' and thought through story meanwhile Mint was more of a 'fun' and happy side. Mint's story is more full of comedy and fun to play though. To see more of the 'story' see "Characters" below. Characters: Rue: Rue is serious, gentle, kind, honest, hard-working, caring, humble, brave....ect. You're sweet kind of guy. However he's not human but a organic doll that was create by a man named Valen to serve him. Since he was created to serve Valen he's very powerful. Years ago he was put to sleep until he woke up one day inside a temple. Claire found him and took him into her care. Over time he grew close to her but all his happiness came to an end when Doll Master appeared. Doll Master is another Doll like Rue who was also created by Valen. Doll Master hoped to have Rue join him in resurrecting Valen. Rue attack him and covered Claire. He merged their souls and then took his Arc Edge (his weapon) and went on an adventure to resurrect her back to life starting in Carona. This is how he meet Mint. Mint: The heroine of the game shes a Princess (next in line for the crown) and the comic relief character in the game. Next in thrown of East Heaven Kingdom she is aggressive, manipulative, violent, un-mannered. The opposite of a real princess. When suddenly her sister visits her and tells her the news that her right to the thrown was given to her little sister Maya. Maya accepts the thrown and plans to make her sister's life miserable. Attempting to use her magic on her sister Mint fails as Maya proves her magic is stronger. Upset by this she runs away (or is banished?) from home and begins her journey for a more powerful relic than her sisters and become ruler of the world. She then crosses paths with Rue who is also searching for a relic. She wields two chakrams full of magic and is powerful. She also has a powerful jump kick. However she is deathly afraid of pumpkins. She doesn't like Rue for some reason (he is her opposite) and tries to attack him numerous times but fails and changes it to a "comic twist". OH! One part was when he bent over to get something and she tried to tackle him but went flying into the water. However in the end she cares for Rue and her sister Maya. Gameplay: RPG and action. Its so fun! You can defeat enemies and each character has diffrent ability. While Mint uses powerful magic (cool really) Rue can abosorb and change into monsters. The RPG town is nice to wonder around in as well. And you meet cool other characters along the way. Discuss: Favorite Character Favorite Story Play Villians you like? Parts that you got stuck at? The game .... |
I loved Threads of Fate! It was one of the first games I got for the playstation. <3 |
I agree with you completely!! The tree part was confusing for me too! XD
Finally I figured it out but it took a while. Belle and Duke were hilarious! I love when Duke was disguised as a star to trick Mint. Rue's story was good (sad too) while Mint's story was hilarious. I can't remember exactly but I liked when mint was in the plane with the guy and they were talking about meatballs or something. XD The soundtrack was amazing! I found you can listen to it on Imeem. Brings back memories. A remake would be awesome though. I would pick it up right away. ^_^ |
Yeah, but compared to some of the later areas in the game it was pretty easy. @[email protected] |
Blue Laguna is awesome!! lol
Yeah its been a long time since I've played it as well but wow! I'm amazed you remember that name! It was called the Pinto for short. ^_^' They were fighting about wanting lunch. Mint didn't want pumpkin because she hates it and took his meatball instead trading for her pumpkin. I played Mint through first as well. ^_^ It was very entertaining. |
I've had to have played through that game at least 40 times as Rue. I pimped him out so much that I could play through his story in about 2 hours. I thought playing as Mint was rather taxing. I got stuck as her a lot. @,o She's harder to play as for some reason. The story is wonderfully simple and yet complex at the same time. Definitely worth playing though.
Old school games are the best! |
Old school games are best. ^_^
Mint...I can't remember which one was easier to play or harder. I just know I favored her so maybe her fighting style suted me best? But it was fun with both. ^^ 2 hours?! That's amazing! |
Well as I see it Rue's story is the main plot, Mint's is like a side story. lol She's kind of a brat, so I didn't really like her. I think Rue is adorable! ^^o
I doubt I could play through that fast now, but I totally had it down to an art. |
Aw I liked mint. ;o; |
Heeehee! I ended up with a ton of free time during graveyard shift, so that WAS my distraction.
|
Graveyard shift?
Mint was a brat I will agree with that. ^_^ In the end though she cares which is good. Rue is sweet so he's cute too. ^__^ I can see myself beating it in one day definantly. |
I remember picking this game up second hand when I was staying with a friend for March break a few years ago. I got into it pretty quickly; Rune being my favourite character and obvious first choice. My only regret is I never actually beat the game; I could never beat the final boss and wasn't very knowledgeable about internet walkthroughs at the time.
