Pleeeeeeeaaasee

I've been bugging my parents for a cat or a dog for many years. We both know that my reasons for getting one are perfectly logical, they just simply don't want one.

Anyone else been begging for a pet?

Jennifer 07-19-2008 08:09 PM

You can have one of mine! We've got WAY TO MANY. Two have adopted me, heh. They only come to me when they're called. And they only sleep in MY bed. I like having the bed to myself kthx.

Be sure to tell your parents that YOU will take care of the pet. Feed it, walk it (if it needs walking), et cetera. My parents actually make me buy the pet food with my own money, since they're MY pets, not theirs, heh.

when i was six years old i begged for a cat all the time, and i got one, but only because my grandma's neighbor let us keep it after we saved it from a rattlesnake.. xD

but its just soo depressing to have a pet if you think about it, i occasionally think about how my pet will pass away.. it depresses me because i think of my cat as a baby xD

Pets are actually very therapeutic. I mean, if you don't think about their future death, heh. But petting them stimulates senses and makes you feel more calm. I guess that depends on the animal though, haha. If you can't pet them, you can always talk to them! :)

yeah.. Dx

I don't need anymore pets but I used to ALWAYS beg my parents for a Hamster.
They got tired of my asking and got me one on my 13th Birthday.

The only problem was they remembered me saying I was responsible for it, so I had to change the cage and water, give it food- so on so forth. I regretted getting him. (Gomenasai Panda... 8])

I wanted them to do all the dirty work, they wouldn't though.

Anyway, I hope you get the pet you want too, even if you don't want it after you get it. =3

i had a dwarf hamster once, i didn't mind looking after it o.o

Inc'est la Vie 07-19-2008 11:04 PM

If anything I think we have too many pets right now. My step-father is always sneaking animals into the house. We've got three cats, a chihuahua, an iguana, an albino rat and a black dwarf rabbit. And then last week he brought a snake home.

So i'm stocked up pretty nicely.

Renchan 07-19-2008 11:14 PM

I already have three cats.
But everytime when I see a cute animal, I want one and beg my mom for it. The questions for dogs and cats, she ignores, but when I talk about birds or rabbits, the only thing she says; The cats will like him.
And then I shut up. ;(

Melody 07-19-2008 11:26 PM

I have two cats...and my husband keeps bugging for a dog. I told him when he gets a raise and gets me a bigger car we'll get a dog. XD

I have a dog and a cat, but I'm dying for either a new kitten or a new puppy! I've even picked out what breed of dog I want, and names for what I would name a boy puppy or a girl puppy! x3

And, I've decided that I want a boy cat named Pygmallion.

Wynna 07-20-2008 02:36 AM

Actually we gave my dog away today, to my former step-dad. We're moving and well we don't have room for him in our new house, sad..but he'll have a good home.

Sadistix_Love 07-20-2008 02:58 AM

I haven't begged for a puppy for years. I would ask one every day when I was like five but then realized all those responsibilities are way too annoying for me to handle. So I stopped. xD

So if you were to get a cat or dog, would it be inside or outside?

I've done it both ways, and here's my advice for you if you're ever able to talk your 'rents into letting you get a pet:

Inside cats are a pain in the butt because of having to deal with litter and whatnot. I have an inside cat now, and while I love him to death, I won't ever have another house cat. So I'd suggest rooting for a dog instead of a cat.

Roachi 07-20-2008 04:54 AM

My mum always let me have a cat, but never a dog!
I'm 23 now and my partner won't let me have one now! *sobs*

ElendarSilvermoon 07-20-2008 06:42 AM

I succeeded in getting the cat i've wanted for years, though my parents didn't get it. I'm now 20 and moving in with my fiancee, and we both adopted a kitten. ^_^

Soria 07-20-2008 08:13 AM

I recently really wanted this cute kitten my friend was giving away.
Of course my dad said no..
My mom said that we should toss it into the grass and be like,
"OMGWTF POOR LOST KITTEN IN OUR YARD. MUST KEEP NAO!!"
:XD

Duchess 07-20-2008 10:22 AM

YES!!
My dad hates animals so my old plan was ask him for a pet once every night until he got pissed off and bought me one.
I stopped doing that now... (maybe I should start again!!)
Now every time I see something on TV, I'm like
"Dad, can we get a frog/cat/dog/ferret/hamster/rabbit/bird, etc.?.. please.. FISH!!"

He snorts at me sometimes, or gives me an evil look.
Or he says "Get one when you're older and have moved out"

D; I WANT ONE NAO!! -throws tantrum-

Okiama 07-21-2008 12:13 AM

I begged for like 6 months+ for a ferret and now my grandparents treat it better then me! x-x
I could of not eaten in 3 days and they would go "Did you get the ferret up?" and then go on with "JULIE! blahblahcute."

:sarcasm:

thoughtlessamaya 07-21-2008 12:48 AM

I've been asking for a cat. But I guess thats only for when I get my own home. :[

Queen Fool 07-21-2008 01:35 AM

Not lately. My mother promised we could get either a dog or another cat when we moved. Didn't happen.

I've gotten my pets before, though. Gerbils, cat, rats. My dad wanted the fish, though.

silly_boy_likes_a_lesbian 07-21-2008 01:44 AM

me and my sis had been begging for kitty cats for a while and we finally got them in January, so we've had them for a while.

Angel Naomi 07-21-2008 07:10 AM

I really haven't had to beg for a pet very much. In my life I've had 2 horses, ducks, 2 geese, 3 cats, 2 birds, 2 rabbits, 3 hamsters, and now 3 chinchillas (not all at the same time) for pets. Our little brother was the reason for the chinchillas. When we were his age (8) we had already had half of those animals so mom and dad felt sorry for him and we got a chinchillas for him. (A chinchilla because me and my sister have always wanted one XD). Then he got lonely so we got him a play mate. Then they got in little baby chinchillas so we had to get 3 XD That's the reason for all of them lol.

LoversEnd 07-21-2008 07:28 AM

Well, I want a dog, and I have tried and tried and tried to make them let me have one.
Do they listen?
No.
Oh well, the kind I want anyways are kind of vicious?
I dunno, I want a Bluenosed Pit Bull.
Will I ever get it?
Probably not, my girlfriend is completely afraid of them.
D: Not fair!
*pout*

iC[a]ndy 07-21-2008 07:31 AM

Yes. The caged ones work, but lately, nothing will get my mom to allow me to even have a caged pet: "How can you take care of an animal if you can't even keep your room clean?!"

For the past 2 years now, I've been trying to convince her to allow me to get a dog-- specifically the Yorkshire Terrier (tea cup sized, yes? <3). >w< I give her facts that would benefit me and her, and won't affect her "fur allergies." My mom told me that she was allergic to fur, so I wasn't allowed to have a cat or a dog. Ever since I found out she wasn't allergic (I brought my friend's cat over to my house and let it walk around my house, she didn't react to it; also, when I was younger, my friends would have pets and she would hang with the parents, she didn't react to the dog; and the fact that my mom use to have dogs when she was younger), I've been trying to convince her. I also want exotic petsor not typical house pets. (: Hedgehogs and ducks don't have fur, right? xD

G'luck with yours!

edit: Try crying/embarrassing your parent(s) in public for it [if you're not going to feel humiliated]. My friend did that for one of her current dogs.
