Chloe was studying the different heights that she could throw the boys while everyone was laughing at them around her. She had just noticed that this strength only allowed them to be thrown to the height of the top of the building before they came back down when a sharp and annoying voice rang out through the crowd of students.

"What is going on here?!" Professor Mcdougal, the nastiest female teacher from the slytherin side, exclaimed as she tried to push through the crowd of students, who were now fleeing from the scene. Chloe immediately set the boys down on the ground and made them each drink a small potion before drinking the potion that made her invisible.

"Thanks," she whispered to the boys before running through the crowd and away from the crime scene, so to speak.

She got all the way to her lab before the invisibility wore off and sighed as she sunk down into a chair.

"Hopefully all those students watching were too afraid of that Professor and won't answer her questions," Chloe hoped she wasn't told on, but students were a little scared of her potions so she didn't think they would.

"Plus, that potion I slipped those three will make them seem very drunk!" she started to laugh as she imagined the boys acting like babies to a very mad Professor.

Tor went back to her room. Chloe would come along soon, hopefully and they could make more potions. Right now, though, she had to start on that paper. She decided she would make an outline here, then go down to the library if she didn't have enough references. She was pretty sure she did, but the outline should highlight it. She sat down and started scratching it out on the parchment.

After making sure that the coast was clear, Chloe sneakily slipped from her potions lab and started to walk towards the Ravenclaw dorm.

Walking up the stairs to the girl's dorm, she tried to remember what homework she had to complete.

"Hey Tor," she said upon seeing her friend in her room, "Did we have any homework for Herbology?"

"Um, I don't think so. I think we were supposed to read the relevant pages, but I think the professor prefers us to experience things. I have this five page paper on the differences between humans and centaurs. Fun times..." Tor sighed. "Once I get the basics on this paper are we going to make more potions or are we just going to eat and sleep?"

"Dunno," Chloe looked with bored eyes at the paper that Tor was writing, "But, if you need more information for that paper of yours, I know a fun way to get it."

"I was just going to look it up at the library. what were you planning?" Tor looked up in sharp alarm. "Please tell me you don't want to go into the Forbidden Woods? That's practically suicide!" Tor stared at Chloe, hoping against hope that was NOT her plan.

Chloe laughed briefly at Tor's uneasiness over the forbidden forest.

"Well, you're right, it would be suicide," she grinned from ear to ear, "If you were a human still that is. I was going to suggest turning ourselves into Centaurs and joining the pack for the night or something. It'd be an awfully nice adventure and we'd learn tons!"

"I hate to be a buzz kill, but I don't know if just being a centaur will protect us from some of the things in there. Part of the reason they do so well is because they know already how to avoid or face threats particular to there. I mean, I'm pretty sure we won't be avoided just because we look like centaurs. Right?" Tor knitted her brows. She was excited about the idea, but she also didn't want to explain how she got those funny scratches in the morning. Not to mention the penalty for being caught there, expulsion. "Really, I don't want to get expelled. My parents would kill me absolutely dead."

"Dang," Chloe frowned, "You're right, it's too much risk."

She sat on a bed and sulked for a bit, then her eyes lit up in curiosity.

"Want to just see what it feels like to be a centaur then?" Chloe asked in excitement, "I think I have a potion like that sitting around, collecting dust, in my lab!"

"Yeah! That sounds amazing. And maybe we can gallop a bit on the grounds. This place is huge, after all. I mean, I heard they're are giant spiders in there. I like spiders but not that big! Anyways, there's plenty of places we could go." Tor talked faster as she warmed up to the idea. "In fact, I've finished my outline. Let's go now! I can finish later."

"Alright!" Chloe cheered before grabbing Tor's hand and racing off to her lab. She let go of Tor's hand once they were there, and went over to her cabinet.

"Ah, here it is," she smirked as she pulled out the golden brown potion, "It tastes like grass, but the effects will last for a couple hours!"

She grabbed Tor's hand again and raced out onto the grounds. Once a fair distance away from the school, she handed one of the potions to Tor.

"Bottom's up!"

Tor drank it down quickly and waited for the change. Immediately, she felt her back end growing bigger, and she felt her body gaining muscle. A little weird, she thought with a laugh. Her skirt sat on the top of her back and in front of her new horse legs. Hair had sprouted on there, and she even had a tail! Tor swished it delightedly. Tor took a few steps, trying to get used to the new way of walking. She started walking in circles, swishing her tail. "Wow, this is awesome!"

"Yes, it is!" Chloe exclaimed, trotting in circles around Tor in her new form, "I never knew that running around could be so much fun!"

She beamed as she looked back at her horse body, which was a beautiful shiny black color that matched her hair. Her skin had turned a bit darker than usual, but it seemed to fit in with the black of her body this way.

(( Hey fairywaif...have you seen the new Harry Potter movie yet? I'm going tomorrow and I'm so excited! ))

((I'm seeing Star Trek on my birthday, the 24th, and we're seeing Harry Potter on my older sisters, the 3rd. I'm excited for both!))

Tor kicked her heels into the air and pranced around. "Let's run around the lake! Race ya! Count of 3. 1-"

"2, 3," Chloe said very fast before she started running. Running so fast like the way she was, made her feel like she was free of everything.

"Hey! No fair!" Tor cried. She thundered after her, weaving and leaping, even though she knew she was losing further ground. But it felt so good to practically fly through the air! Tor managed to get a length behind, but she wasn't able to catch up. "Well, you beat me! That was so much fun. Whew!"

"Nah, I cheated," Chloe laughed wildly, "By default you win, but it was still amazingly fun!"

"Maybe tomorrow we should become mermaids and swim down to the bottom of the lake," Chloe's eyes grew with excitement, but then shut again, "But I suppose that would be too dangerous as well. I wish we could go on a real adventure, or at least a school field trip into dangerous territories!"

(( I think we need some kind of plot....where's jk rowling when you need her! jeez! lol jk ))

((It would probably help if there was more than just the two of us...))

"Actually, the lake would, in a way, not be as dangerous. In the woods it's a different way to maneuver. The lake is a lot easier to get around in and mermaids are the fastest things in there. The reason people don't go swimming in it is because the giant squid could catch them. There might be unknown dangers, but I feel more confident about it. I could be foolishly optimistic though. What do you think?" Tor queried.

"Oh, Tor," Chloe eyes watered in gratefulness that her friend was finally letting her go on an adventure, "Alright then, once this magic wears off we should get a good nights sleep, so we can swim our fastest tomorrow night!"

(( Yeah...why doesn't anyone want to join us?! lol ))

"Yeah, I'm pretty wore out," Tor yawned as she said this. "Besides, I have that essay I have to finish by Thursday. I'm just glad each class isn't every day. I'll probably work on it during lunch. I do have some interesting material for it though!" Tor laughed and trotted slowly back to the castle, waiting for the potion to wear off. When it did, she went to bed and immediately fell asleep.

Chloe followed Tor's lead and went to her own bed once the potion wore off.

"Good night Tor," she whispered with a smile before she completely dozed off.

Torenda rose early to birds chirping. There was an hour until breakfast would be served, so she decided to add some things to her outline. Then she'd get a book out from the library on the subject. Then it'd be time for breakfast!

Tor added a few more lines to her web, filled them in and put her pen down. Now to the library. She went down the shifting stairs and entered the library. It was utterly quiet. Tor tiptoed in, and went to the section on magical creatures, then the subsection that included both mermaids and centaurs. She reached up, taking a book called "Centaurs and their society: A Study on their World." She took it up to her room, quietly. It was almost breakfast, so she decided to get properly dressed and go down.

"Good morning Tor," Chloe yawned and stretched before walking over to her trunk, "I heard you get up early. I really don't know how you do it. I've never been able to wake up early!"

She quietly got dressed and used a spell to make her hair go straight and silky.

"It's just the way I'm built, I guess. Always been an early bird." Tor pulled on a blue shirt and jeans. She pulled on her robes and brushed her hair. She pulled it back into a pony tail and headed down to the dining hall with Chloe.

Chloe rushed around the tables, picking up as many breakfast foods as she could carry, before returning back to her seat next to Tor.

"I love breakfast!" she exclaimed between foods. At the end, she patted her stomach in content and waited for Tor to finish as well.
