Kara looked at the boy "Hmm you're new to power's aren't ya... I remember when I got to Earth I started developing alot of powers. Flight, strength, speed... you name it and I have it... According to the government I'm on the list of the most powerful known super beings. Not saying that I'm proud of it cuz really I'd rather go unknown." Kara was just your normal woman... plus her super powers. Her only real weaknesses were ktyptonite and going too long without being in the sun. "So you have strength, you have gravitational manipulation, and you have can see in a different spectrum"She decided she would help this guy out. "Nobody else is here so let's go use the training room... we can see what you've got."

"Alright. Sounds good. I didn't even know there was a training room." He grinned, feeling a bit more at ease. The girl was actually kind of cute. She didn't look all too different from people he used to know. Actually, according to his teachers, that should be true of a lot of races. Although there would be variations for specific conditions, Koronian...and, he supposed, Kryptonian...bioscience indicated that most races would adopt a roughly similar physical appearance, due to the overall efficiency of the form. Some would not, but just like many animals of similar nature were roughly equivalent in form, the same would be true of sentients. At least, that was how he had always understood it. "So, you're not from this world either? Is this 'Earth' the hub of some galactic society then?"

"Yeah but not quietly," Hal said, "and right now, with Donna's life on the line I think making our presence known wouldn't be the best of ideas."

"Thats what i thought." Batman used a gadget and started following its pulse to the strongest point. IT was best to get the signal of the communications area and break in there since thats where Donna would most likely be located. He told Hal this wondering if he realized what he was doing before he said anything. It wasnt long when circling the place to find the communications area. It was the one place that had the most energy going in and out of it. "Here. Do it here"

Kara replied as she walked Jay through the maze of corridors "Earth is a sort of hub. It's always attcked by some being who claims themselves superior or stronger. But there are actually few extraterrestrials on earth.And no I'm not from Earth I was born on Krypton and sent here when it exploded. Though according to Superman my escape pod was damaged on the way here so I didn't arrive until sometime after he did." She was starting to get the feeling that this boy might not have been a human and asked him "What planet are you from... I've been to quite a few in and out of this solar system"

The moment the girl said "Krypton", Jay froze in his tracks. His fists clenched involuntarily into balls, and it was only with conscious effort that he kept from summoning up another crushing burst of high gravity. His eyes bore into Kara's back as a human's might if someone were to suddenly to sprout horns, a tail, and membranous wings. "Koron." He grated, his voice harsh and accusing. "Where your people abandoned mine, surface-dweller." He was no longer polite, and barely controlled. He stood stiffly, years of conditioned racial hatred transforming her to him as a symbol of all the injustices his ancestors had suffered.

((FYI...Koron was one of Krypton's moons, just in case you didn't know.))

Hal stepped in front of where Batman was pointing. He shot a Warhammer through the hall crumbling the section of it to the ground. "Well that's one way of putting in a back door," he said smirking.

((Waitwhat? With the exception of the Science Council, Kryptonians have no idea that there ever was a lunar colony. The S.C. forbade space flight long before the planet exploded. It's why only two Kryptonians survived the destruction of the planet. I know the colony isn't Canon, but I included all the relevant details in my profile, and it's heavily based on Canon material. Kryptonians not knowing about the colony is how I reconcile it never being mentioned in official sources. *smiles apologetically*

Alex looked at the boy and gave him an odd look "What are you talking about?" Since Kryptonians had outlawed space travel as far as she could remember she had no clue about this guys race. She was only six when Krypton was destroyed so all of what she knew was from the history crystals made by her uncle Jor-El that were at her younger cousin's fortress of solitude as he called it.

((Lol, wrong name? Sorry. Did I stress you out?))

"Let me tell you a story." He said, positively fuming. In spite of himself gravity grew stronger. "Once upon a time, a group of happy Kryptonians lived on the moon of Koron, where they mined rare ores for their people. They were proud of what they did, and very important. Then one day the Science Council outlawed space travel...but the miners of Koron were in space. The Council didn't want to show weakness by making an exception, so they abandoned the miners to their colony and simply cut off all communication." He glared at Supergirl. "Those miners were my ancestors. Your people left them to die, and we were all alone, cut off from everything we ever knew. But that wasn't all. Someone on Krypton must have realized we were there, because they sent a bio-engineered monster to devour our world."

He was referring to the snagriff that Jor-El had experimented in longevity treatments on. A horrible steel-bodied monster that was the only other creature to ever make its way from Koron to Earth, crashing down in a meteor, just as Je-Taran had. Coldly, he continued. "Not that it mattered. Krypton exploded, and while it seems that your people survived just fine, mine are dead. Everyone I ever knew. All those I ever cared about...dead." Unlike Superman, or even Kara, Je-Taran had grown to maturity on his world, and had a full life and happy memories. For him, the destruction of Krypton had not just been history...it had been the destruction of all he had known. What was more, for him it had been but hours in the past. The wound was still fresh, and it showed.

Kara listened to the story. She had learned that her Uncle wasn't exactly the saint that he claimed to be. From what she saw on the history crystals he was a great and brilliant man just his view was a little distorted. "Hey listen there you can't judge the a person based on what a group does" Though what she knew on human history it was muddled with much the same accounts of racism and horror stories. "Look I'm nothing like th Kryptonians of the past and neither is Superman. I know it's hard to let go of the past... trust me I know. Though mine isn't as extreme" She remember that Clark had tried to keep her in smallville for quite a few years before she finally decided to screw it and set out on her own. She of course felt the gravity and it didn't affect her except that she felt it growing. "Listen though you really shouldn't take out your anger on the space station. I don't know if it'll handle the stress of too much gravity. I know the area around the training room can but not the rest of it"

He hadn't even realized that he was increasing the gravity until she mentioned it. It seemed he still didn't know how to control the particular muscular signals that affected his power. Or maybe it was just being tense. Perhaps he would spend the rest of his life crushing everything around him when he was upset. The idea wasn't very pleasant. With effort, he stopped exerting pressure, though he was still upset. "You can say that, but how am I supposed to forgive so easily? Just leave me alone!" He stomped past her, looking for the training room by himself. He needed to get his power under control...before he hurt innocent people just because he was in a bad mood.

Kara was getting annoyed by this guys and came up behind him and smacked him upside the head with more force then she had meant to. But with Jay strength (and what I assume to be durability) he would be able to stand "Listen you... Just because i am kryptonian does not make me a bad person... I could have just left you in thta room to stumble through getting your powers like that... but no I decided to be nice and help you." She looked at the guy with the look that only an angry woman could give. Many a men on the ship knew of Kara's anger and the few that weren't afraid of it were the ones who knew her well or the ones that could talk her down. "Now you are gonna take my help and you are gonna like it" She grabbed his wrist and dragged him toward the training room and pushed him in and followed him. She was a little ticked. It wasn't just that the guy was being a biggot (as she saw it) but the fact that she had been deprived of some action. She looked at him with her arms crossed and simply said "Okay let's see what you can do."

((XD poor guy... he just got on Kara's bad side. Finally I got a chance to play annoyed Kara. *Gets popcorn* let's see how this plays out))

Getting hit upside the head had staggered Jay for a moment. However, it had done two things more. First and foremost, it had reminded him of one of the more important lessons his Academy teachers had had to drill into their students...manners. The second had to do with his powers. When he had been recovering his balance, he had felt himself get lighter for a moment...and he thought he had a good idea what had caused it. "Very well, if you insist." He spoke in a quiet, deferential tone. It couldn't keep the irritation out of his voice, but he at least tried to be civil.

In the room, he decided to test what he thought he'd figured out. Stepping off, he first decreased his local gravity, and then carefully held a reversed field over himself. For a few moments he floated in midair. Unfortunately, when he tried to shift the field holding him up to pull himself through the air, his control slipped, and he landed roughly on the ground again.

Kara's flight worked on a similar principal ,as did some other hero's that could fly of their own volition, except she couldn't make gravity heavier as far as she knew. She stepped up to Jay "Okay the trick with this one is not so much concentartion as it is will." She hovered five feet above the ground to prove a point. "Flight is an easy power to grasp the stronger your will the easier it is... now get up over here with me and try to hover next to me" some of the annoyance was still there in her voice but some of it was gone. She wasn't exactly sure if she was right but from what she saw that's what she was guessing.

Jay tried what she suggested, but it wasn't working. Finally, in exasperation, he spread his arms, imagining flapping large wings where he had felt muscles flex when he changed gravity before. Just like that, he was hovering above the ground. He tried using the same muscles to push toward her and drifted close...actually much closer than he had intended. Reflexively, he cringed back, falling briefly. Fortunately, not enough to see up her skirt, or he was certain she would have kicked him into the floor. Besides, a Kryptonian's underclothes were certainly nothing he wanted to see. Shrugging his shoulders a bit, he pushed himself up to eye level with her, a bit farther back this time. "It seems to work a bit different for me." He said, matter-of-factly. "If I don't use these muscles in my back..." He wriggled them a bit, unconsciously, and wound up moving jerkily closer to her again...only to back off once more. "...I can't control the gravity to fly."

Kara had also needed to learn muscle control so that she could definitely help Jay on. "Okay muscle control is easy all you need to do is practice with each set of muscles and get into a rythm each time you practice. If your powers are controlled by your muscle movements like you say they are then it should prove useful" Then she flew back a bit and landed with a tap on the floor. "Now try landing" She looked up at Jay

Jay didn't bother to try to move himself to the floor. Instead, he simply relaxed his control, allowing himself to settle into a comfortable fraction of a gravitational unit of pull. Like a feather, he drifted lightly down to touch the floor, gradually taking on more of his weight until he was standing normally again. Once he accepted that he could manipulate gravity, it wasn't all that hard, although he still needed to practice for fine control. Settling down though, was more like gradually relaxing his grip than doing anything, which made it easy. "Like that?" He asked with a smile, for the moment forgetting his dislike of surface Kryptonians, at least where it applied to Kara Zor-El.

kara smiled a bit as she was impressed then she laughed "I was kinda hoping you woulda fallen on your butt. It's always funny ta see people ne to flying fall down" She had her own memories of flying. She remembered shoting up about 50 feet. It was enough to scare her and make her fall and land in a very awkward position. "you should have seen my first attempty at flying. Good thing I was wearing pants at the time." Then she came back to the powers subject "Hit me" she said simply.

"What?!" He cried out, suddenly remembering that she should, by everything he was raised to, be his enemy. "Look, I'd love to settle things, but I don't really think that my taking out my anger on you is going to solve anything! Weren't you the one who said that I shouldn't judge people based on what their ancestors did?" Had he stopped to think, he might have realized he was completely misinterpreting the situation. However, he had been raised to think of Kryptonians as the enemy, and he still had trouble with the concept that her viewpoint might not be the same.

Kara replied "Dont worry you can't hurt me" she was hoping she was wrong. There were very few people who could hurt her physically. "Now come on... it makes good therapy... give it your best shot and dont hold back" she patted her chest and braced herself just incase. Many times she had been wrong because she never thought things through but it was also that same thing that won her just as many battles... plus it seemed to work for her cousin.

"Look..." He said, not entirely sure if he meant the words even as he spoke them. "Whatever your ancestors may have done to mine, I still have some principles. I won't hit a woman for no reason. That's just...wrong." Even as he said it, though, he could feel irritation building. Her tone was so superior. It seemed to him like she thought she was better than him. That was just like a Kryptonian, wasn't it? Looking down on him, just like her ancestors had done when they stranded his people on a barren moon. In spite of himself, his fist clenched tightly at his side.

Once Kara heard the words 'I won't hit you because you're a woman' she started to get an annoyed persistance going on. "Well this woman wants you to hit her... what are ya a little panzy boy. Afraid that a little girl is gonna show ya up" If any of the other heroes had been there they probably would have stopped her by now. It wasn't that she thought she was superior. It was that she had very high self confidence mixed with a tomboyish attitude. It didn't help that she was easily offended either.

Dick turned and looked to see Clark, "Hey Clark! Where is everyone? What am I missing?" The young man wondered if it was best to head to controls and contact Bruce. If there was anything going on they may need computer back up. As much hurt as there was with Bruce, Dick couldn't bare anything happening to his adoptive father. Grayson looked at the alien for a moment and breathed out. The "adults" as they were, were strange group. Then again he's group had Jason.
