A few minutes after Kaori had stopped, Nagi ran up next to her and dropped his bag to the ground as he leaned, trying to catch his breath. After panting heavily for a few seconds, he stood back up, but still noticeably tired from the mission and having to keep up with Kaori,"Alright, no more running. I'm gonna take a short nap, if you need, go ahead and wake me." With that, Nagi wandered over to a tree and sat, letting out a sigh of relief. He leaned his head against the trunk of the tree and closed his eye's.
|
Kaze looked over at Kaori and the other arrival, Nagi, the pink hair was unmistakable. She shrugged and looked back up at the tree tops overhead. She pushed her curiosity about Shinji's mysterious eyes aside and went back to thinking about what sort of test their sensei was going to have them do next.
Shinji shifted uncomfortably. "I was just answering some questions for Alex-san. I'm sorry, Kaori-sensei. I should have waited until you were present as well." He bowed politely. |
((it's fine ^^))
Ah, so his name was Satoshi. Kaida waved bye slowly as Satoshi left and then looked at the nurse. Judging by the way she had acted...visiting the man from before would be nearly impossible. And since she was out of chakra there was nop way for her to create a distraction...what to do... |
Yoshino had received the message about Kaida being in the hospital from one of the ninjas assigned to run such errands. She immediately informed Temari of her niece's condition and the Suna ninja took off for the hospital at top speed. Within five minutes she had crossed the village wall, and within ten she was walking into the hospital. Temari asked for directions to Kaida's room and was there in a flash. She entered and was relieved to see the young girl was awake.
"What are we gonna do with you, Kaida-chan?" She asked as she ruffled the red head's hair affectionately. "Your father is going to have a fit when he finds out about this." |
Kaida cracked a smile, her father having a fit. Now that would be a sight to see. Hmm...as funny as that would be to watch she didn't exactly want him to bring her back to Suna just yet... She opened her mouth, and in a very small voice, whispered, "No tell." She felt bad about asking her aunt to do this for her, but she really wanted to be able to prove herself as something more. As somebody who could do something.
((if you can't tell, I think 27 pages is enough of having her not speak...it's getting harder and harder to type for her >.>)) |
OOC: lol, I can imagine. Maybe this will help you out....
Temari smiled. "I thought that might get you talking again." She ruffled Kaida's hair again. She had been getting a bit worried about the girl's silence. Kaida was always a bit on the quiet side but she hadn't heard a word out of the girl since they arrived in Konoha and barely anything on the trip from Suna, "Kaida-chan. I know this is a strange place and you don't know many people here, but you'll never get to know anyone if you don't talk to them. You can't be on a squad if you won't speak to your teammates, you know." She spoke from experience. It was a miracle that She and her brothers had survived their early years as a team, the dark time before Gaara changed. "So, I won't tell your dad about this little stunt on one condition. You start talking." |
Alex looked to Shinji intently hoping to maybe see at least something behind those shades. <hmmm maybe I can use my Byakkugan to get a quick glimpse under those shades... hmm but those bugs would sense any spike in chakra... or maybe I could use a string of chakra to grab his sunglasses> She continued to stare at the sunglasses.

Shineji, having finally regained enough energy to move, laughed silently when he heard Kaida ask Temari not to tell the Kazekage, and much louder when Temari told Kaida to start talking. He had not been happy to have Lee Satoshi that close to him when he was unable to move, and had been relieved when he heard him leave. He liked his fellow Chuunin well enough but after years of living with his mother, unpredictable people made him twitchy. Still, Satoshi was better than Nagi. He was gratified to know that Kaida wanted to check on him. Shineji knew he probably owed the genin his life. He never would have gotten home from his mission-- His mission! Shineji's hand flew to his left pocket. He quickly realized he wasn't wearing his jacket, and levered himself into a sitting position, looking for his mission report. He breathed out a sigh of relief when he realized his pockets had been turned inside out and the report was missing. Having ascertained that his duty was done, he turned to the other occupants of the room.
"Temari-sama, you should know that your niece almost certainly saved my life. You should be proud of her. Kaida-san, my thanks. " He smiled wryly. "I'd invite you both to dinner as a thank you, but my mother would kill me. Speaking of whom, Temari-sama, could you call for the nurse? Either Kaida-san or I should probably be moved to another room before my mother gets here. Woman holds a grudge." |
Shinji frowned and turned his head to look at Alex, feeling her eyes on him. She looked intense. He sighed, she wasn't going to let it go...
Temari spotted Shineji and paled, knowing exactly who his mother was. "I'm taking kaida home now. Thank you for warning me Shineji-san." She nodded with a small smile. "Perhaps you can come over for dinner once you get out of here. That way your mother doesn't have to know." She liked Shineji well enough though she had rarely had reason to interact with him. However, his mother was a lunatic....and hated all things related to Suna and Baki. Temari and her family qualified as being reminders of both. "Come along, Kaida-chan." She knelt to give the girl a piggy back ride home. OOC: I hope I'm remembering who your mother is correctly. lol. |
OOC: Yep. I've decided Shineji is going to be generally more respectful to Sand nin just to spite his mother.
"That would probably be best, and thank you. I'd like that." He bowed as best he could from a sitting position. "Farewell, Temari-sama. Goodbye, Kaida-san." He locked eyes with the little girl and repeated, quiet and sincere, "Thank you." In the depths of his mind, the grief began to surge forward. He'd soon be alone with his ghosts once more. As soon as he got out of here, he was going to the Yamanaka shop and the memorial stone. Magnolias for Malai-sensei, from her own garden. Peach Blossom for Jin, who died first. Sakura for Kira, with her death wish. He would lay flowers for them. |
Haruto had just sped over the roofs of several apartment buildings but now she had a fixed destination in mind. The Hokage's office. Even if all this spare time could be used to practise, Haru wanted to go on a missions. She could volunteer and it didn't matter what rank it was. Eventually she would work her way up to the better ones and the pay ddin't matter either. Arriving a block away from the office, Haru dropped down into the street. The townspeople were used to living with ninjas so no one gave her a second glance. Walking Konoha's main government building, Haru rehearsed her introduction and case inside her mind. She would plea for a single person mission or perhaps to be able to join a group that had an injured member out. After being given admittance from the chunins that were guarding the front door, Haru climbed up the stairs and walked through the halls. When she finally found the office, Haru knocked several loud taps and waited to see if the Hokage was in or not.
((OOC: I think Haru still needs someone to pair up with or else she'll be stuck on hold for a while; should I create a second charactar?)) |
Shikaharu whipped his fan open once more in the air and jumped onto it. He sat and flew behind Konohamaru silently to the Hokage's office to get information on their most recent mission. He gave a lazy smile as he thought of how much rest he'd get once he'd get home. "Starlit sky, wait for me tonight." He returned back to realty and placed both of his hands behind his head. Once they'd made it to the building, he folded up the fan as soon as his feet hit the ground and followed behind the others. He stared adamantly ahead, thinking about what possible mission awaited the young squad and their sensei. As they made it to the Hokage's study, he bowed respectfully to Naruto and said sternly, "Hello Hokage-sama. How are you this afternoon?" His arms were ridged at his side when he stood up straight.
|
((>< I dont know what to do with Lexi))
Alex continued to stare and then eventually asked "So do you even have eyes at all or are they just bugs lying in your sockets?" A rude question to alot of people maybe but she was just curious... like her father was. ((dam I cant think of much XP)) |
Naruto waved for them to relax. "The mission is canceled. Sorry to have pulled you away from your training." He said distractedly. "You may go back to it."
"Yes, Naruto-sama. Right away." Konohamaru said with a sharp salute. He turned to his team with a stern expression. "Training area three. Now!" He said sharply. He had been too lenient with them, he could see that now. Naruto looked up again at the knock on his door. "Come in." he called curiously. Shinji shook his head in frustration. "I said let it go!" He snapped harshly. |
Haru opened the door and entered. She copied the other ninja standing before her and bowed down so that her head was aligned to her waist. After she straightened up, Haru maintained eye contact with Hokage Uzumaki and said "My name is Hyuuga Haruto and I'm here to request for a mission, Hokage-sama". There was another squad there along with their jounin leader and Haruto felt a bit of jealousy in herself.
|
Naruto frowned. "I know who you are, Haruto-san." He shook his head and shrugged. "I'm sorry. I don't have anything for you right now." He smiled reasuringly, "I know it is frustrating not having a squad of your own, but I promise if a solo genin mission comes up it is yours, okay?" He exchanged a look with Konohamaru, the two old friends not needing words to come to an agreement. "In the meantime, you are assigned to train with and support Konohamaru's Squad."
OOC: Ninja, Lexi is in this meeting. |
((I'm tired so I'll post tomorrow... dont let me forget ><))
|
OOC: I'll poke you with a stick, kay Ninja? lol In the meantime, we'll just assume you are with your squad.
|
Shikaharu didn't mind that the mission was canceled, but something unexpected happened. He got another teammate, AND IT WAS A GIRL?!!! His face was etched with horror and he shuddered violently. What the hell was this? He couldn't believe this was happening. "I guess all Nara men are cursed with being surrounded by women. What a drag." He wanted to jump out of the Hokage's window and just fall, but his mother and grandmother would kill him. He sighed, stuck his hands in his pocket and walked out in dreary slowness.
|
Sano smirked at Shikaharu's expression towards our new teammate. She walked beside him. "Aw, cmon Haru-kun! Girls aren't that bad." she said trying to convince him. "Not all girls are as troublesome as you think ya know." she said with a small giggle.
|
OOC: That's going to get confusing. Haru-kun and Haru-chan
Shineji stretched, reaching for the pile of his clothes just barely in his reach. He managed to grab his jacket, rifiling through the pockets for a blank paper, ink, and brush. He knew he'd never forget, but he also knew he was going crazy with grief, and needed to do something to distract himself. Slowly he began to trace their names onto the paper. Then he wrote other things, little things. Kira's favorite food was dango. Malai-sensei had never let them go to the dango place; she'd always been afraid of letting Kira meet Anko. Jin had always been too shy to admit how in love with Kira he'd been, until Shineji had trapped them in a handy vault in one of the empty buildings in the Uchiha complex. Malai-sensei's taijutsu style was deadly and beautiful. It had looked like a dance, but anyone stupid enough to mistake it for one had ended up in a world of pain. |
OOC: LOL, I never really thought about that. That would be interesting . Maybe I should make Sano-chan call Shikaharu Haru-kun just to see if the moment would come up when they get confused. x]
|
OOC: That has definite hilarity potential. Will turn this into another Shinej grief post when I get back from lunch.
Saravi, I decided I do want to play my med nin, if only so I can give her a name. The profile should be in your inbox very soon. Now simply drawing lines on the page at random, Shineji wondered where the med nin was. He had no particular desire for her to come in, because he knew they would have to notify his mother he was awake. He wasn't sure if he was up to dealing with her brand of craziness at the moment. Kira had always been good back up for dealing with his mother; she was fearless, so he and Jin had used her to run interference for them when dealing with Yugao. Malai-sensei had been able to face her down too. He remembered how furious 'Kaasan had been when she'd found him practicing wind techniques from the scroll Malai-sensei had obtained from his father. He'd thought Malai-sensei was the bravest person in the world when she'd told his mother that failing to train his primary element was criminally negligent and dereliction of duty. Wind elementals weren't all that common in Konoha, even now, the only wind elemental in Konoha who had no Sand blood was the Hokage. His daughter probably would be too, but he didn't think she'd started studying elemental techniques yet. |
Kaida nodded her promise and then frowned, "Alright..." She murmured. She carefully got onto Temari's back and looped an arm loosely around her aunt's neck, the other curled around her panda. She waved bye to Shineji. She didn't understand why Temari seemed so scared about seeing the male's mother but if Temari was scared maybe Kaida should just go along with her...
|
The med nin entered the room with a distracted air. Temari had been in quite a hurry to leave and she wondered why. It had almost been like she was trying to escape someone. She'd had to chase her down to get her to sign the release forms for Kaida. The little girl had been quite cute waving back towards the room. Out of OCD-induced habit, she made the bed Kaida had been resting in, completed the final notations on the girl's chart, and turned to leave the room and file it.
Shineji watched the med nin, amused by her distracted air. She hadn't even noticed he was awake and sitting up. He certainly wasn't going to remind her he was there. It wasn't his job to call her attention to him. She'd had one foot of the room before she realized her brain was yelling at her. She turned around to survey the room again. The bed was made. She had Kaida's chart. Shineji was awake. He laughed when the realization stole across the med nin's face. He hadn't seen an expression so funny since the time Kira had stolen Hana Inuzuka's clothes and hidden them in Nagi's closet. Of course the mulish expression the med nin was making now that he was laughing at her was even better. She growled at Shineji. Sure, she was a little scatterbrained, but it wasn't that funny! She decided the best way to get back at him was to do her job so she quickly used Chakra restraints to force him back down. She immediately began running a diagnostic jutsu, carefully using just a tiny bit more chakra then necessary. Her instructor had said that made the jutsu tickle like crazy. "Kyo," she called to an orderly, "send someone to let Uzuki-san know her son's awake, and fetch me a reflex tester and a cane." She was rewarded seconds later by the drained expression on her patient's face. Sometimes she really loved the medical profession. The med nin was unordinately happy with herself, Shineji decided. Of course, she didn't know that it wasn't her tickling diagnostic jutsu. He was distracting himself from the tickling sensation by trying to figure out how she got that effect. The hand signs had been the standard ones. It wasn't the restraints either, though they were slightly uncomfortable. Did they have to send for his mother? Grr. realized I was writing about different dead people than the ones I originally killed off. Went back and fixed the names to the ones I'm using now. |
