Feng went over to the wine rack, grabbed two bottles, and slipped them into the basket when the cook wasn't looking. When she finishes, She grabbs the basket, "Thanks!" And runs off to the feeding area. She fills a satchel she had made from her old clothes with meat, and goes back by Hamon and the dragons. "Hi guys! I got food! I even grabbed food for the dragons from the feeding area." -So how are things between you and Tikith?-
'Fine. So what are you planning? You seem rather satisfied with yourself.' -Oh... You'll find out- 'Sigh... You're being difficult' "Where's K'tes?" |
"He's late," Hamon said, looking around. "He was still asleep when I passed his room. Want to... leave him behind?"
~Amaranth! I think he might!~ Sheryn looked up at Sedna. "I... no, you couldn't. But," she set down the brush and sat down. "I could have sworn I felt scales, maybe even saw them. That might have just been an effect of the lack of oxygen, though. Has to be." ~I am not angry anymore, Posiden. She saved my rider, I am thankful.~ |
"Sounds good! I can't wait to see the beach! I've never been to one, and i've never gone swimming before!"
'Me either!' -Well of course. You were just born a few days ago.- 'It's still true!' "Do you think you could teach me how to swim?" |
Sedna nodded but still gazed at the roof silently. She stayed silent a moment longer then asked quietly “And Lumelith? What does she think it was?” Her voice was calm and expressionless, just like her face. She might as well have been a statue there… Poseidon meanwhile stepped forward, nuzzling lumelith briefly in releif. She was his mother, fighting with her and feeling rejected by her had been miserable.
|
"Sure, I can do that," he said, patting Tikith on the head. The little blue hummed happily. "Shall we go?"
~I think you can do something no one else in the Weyr can. How did you dive so deep? I've never seen or heard of someone who can.~ Lumelith blinked, her eye shifting to a bluer color. "I don't think I need to say that out loud, do I?" Sheryn asked, a slight smile on her face. |
Feng heads toward one of the exits and heads north with Hamon and the two dragons. "So... Where are you from?"
'Race you to that tree, Tikith' |
Sedna looked to Sheryn a moment and hesitated but finally shook her head, walking to the window to stare out at the sky a moment. She was silent for several minutes, aware now that Lumelith had not confirmed the scales that Sheryn had seen. Closing her eyes she let herself take in a breath, letting her mind calculate odds and varying thoughts. Finally she spoke, saying “I….was born different from other riders…that is why I ended up at that fishing hold. My father dropped me off there…”
She frowned and shifted uncomfortably before turning towards them. “I have always been good at diving… and always had…these…” She said simply, reaching down and taking off one of her chain mail gloves and holding out one arm where scales were clearly visible along the back of her hands and slightly up her forearm. They were a pearly white but with dapples of various shades of gray and even a pinkish beigy color. |
Tikith took off at Amaranth's prompting. ~Sure!~
Hamon looked at Fenghua'ng. "Paradise Hold. Um, my father was one of the fishers there, so I know a lot about the watr and fish and stuff..." Sheryn looked at Sedna's arm, walking over and gently touching one. They're like fish scales... Now I know why you don't want Terrin to take your measurements," she said in amazement. ~Fish.~ "Lumelith, be nice. This is amazing. And they're beautiful." |
'Readysetgo!'And she takes off before Tikith can register she had started the race.
"What's it like? I haven't been anywhere but the streets of southern, so I'd like to know of other places and there's only so much i can learn from books" |
Sedna nodded, glancing at the window again as Sheryn touched her arm. She tensed a little bit at first but calmed as Sheryn spoke, almost as if she half expected to be attacked then found herself reassured this was not the case. She glanced over as she said they were beautiful but said nothing, simply watching her from beneath her bangs and letting her touch the scales as she so pleased. She said nothing for a moment then finally whispered gently, “Do you really think so?” a soft surprise in her voice.
|
Tikith ran to keep up with Amaranth, not leing her get too far past hm. ~No way, I'm faster!~
"Um, it's small, but open. Lots of trees around, and everyone's nice. Or, most everyone," Hamon said, looking first at the sky, then at the ground. "The main buildings are made of the same stuff as landing's are, because it was founded in one of the rediscovered sites." "Of course I do, or I wouldn't have said it," Sheryn replied, peering closer. Do they ever get itchy or shed? And do you ned to do anything special to take care of them?" |
"Oh... was it nice living there? Do you miss it?"
'Yeah right! You'll never catch me!' |
Not really… Just need to soak in water now and then….Use to shed when I was younger and still growing….” Sedna responded absently, watching as Sheryn looked closer at the scales. Meanwhile she put her glove over her shoulder, standing with her free hand on her hip as the other stayed stretched out in front of sheryn. She simply watched, eyeing lumelith as well. She seemed uncertain if Sheryn could really be so fascinated with them.
|
"Not really, I mean, it was nice, but not what I wanted," Hamon said, watching the dragons play. "Then again, I didn't know what I wanted."
~Yeah, right!~ Tikith leaped at Amaranth, pinning her to the ground. ~Gotcha!~ "Wow," she murmured. "Do they come up at all?Do you even know how you ended up with them?" Lumelith blinked again, only one eye visible through the window. ~I will not harm you, I'm curious as well,~ she said to Sedna, eye turning more blue. "It is truly fascinating.~ |
Feng giggled at the two dragons, "Don't they seem to be getting along?" She turns back to Hamon, "Me either. Then again, When you don't have any options, and you live on the streets... But hey. I have Ama now. She's got to be the first good thing in my life... Then there's you of course..." Feng blushes and looks back at the dragons.
'Hey! Get off me! We didn't make it to the tree yet!' |
Sedna blinked shrugging on the ending up with the question, tilting her head to the side as she watched her. How did sheryn end up with black hair? Life was just like that. “a little bit…if something rubs them the wrong way..” To illustrate she first stroked her own finger with the fall of them, silky smooth feeling that way and appearing fairly flat. She then stroked against their natural direction and they lifted against it slightly with their sharp edges so she chose not to do it to hard.
“you can feel them…if you want…” She murmured, simply glancing between the two. She watched sheryn silently then, perplexed. It made her wonder, how others would react to her scales….and some… She bit her lip thoughtfully, glancing up at the roof. “I also have them on my back…” She added quietly. |
"I, uh..." Hamon looked at the dragons, ears starting to turn pink again. "yeah," he said quietly.
~You said that I couldn't catch you, so I did. Now I'll beat you to the tree!~ Tikith hopped off of her and started running again, aiming straight for the tree. "On your back, too? Interesting." Sheryn stood up straight again, looking Sedna in the eye, or as close as she could come to it. "I'll understand if you don't show anyone else. It might freak some people out." She looked back at Lumelith. ~I will not speak of this. Simple as that.~ "There, so your secret is safe with us. Though if you let me measure you, and tell Terrin that your back and hands have to be covered, she might stop pestering you quite so much." |
I see no reason for anyone else to know…” She murmured, nodding slightly and pulling her chain mail glove back on a moment. She glanced at the roof a moment, thinking a bit before nodding slowly. “Yes… that sounds like a good idea… though I wonder if she will question why my back, hands, and forearms need to be covered…” Sedna murmured softly, watching Sheryn’s face with a quizzical expression. This was an unexpected turn of events it seemed…almost as if Sheryn had passed some sort of test she’d been expected to fail…
|
'Oh no you don't!' Amaranth leaps after him using him as a spring-board to get to the tree first.
"Oh... I got meat for Those two when i went to get food... If we don't feed them too much, they should still be able to make it back at the end of the day, but i think they'll be kind of exausted when we get back." She looks up to him, "Hamon?" |
~Ow! Amaranth, that kinda hurt...~ Tikith looked at Amaranth, looking like a puppy.
"Um, yeah. er..." Hamon looked back up at the sky. "I, um... never mind. it was a stupid thought." "I don't think she'll question too much, she gets requests to hide scars and the like all the time, Threadscore on other riders and such," she said, getting a pad and writing utensil. "Now, do I still have my measure tape?" she muttered, opening drawrs in her desk and searching through them. |
'You shouldn't have jumped on me then! I was only returning the favor. Sorry i hurt you though..."
"I was thinking... well... I don't know if you were told, but our dragons have been plotting. Amaranth says Tikith told her you like me... Do you?" She looks down and mumbles, "'Cuz... I like you too." |
Sedna nodded, watching as she searched for the tape. It took her a moment to decide but slowly she began removing most of her gear. She would remove it all until she was down to the white silk and lace of her bra and panties. It was funny considering how little attention to her clothing she paid that she gave so much attention to her underwear but it was a nice set.
She shrank away from the window a little bit as if unsure of who would see but now she stood, waiting as she let herself be open to the other female. Now every bit of her with scales could be seen, including the intricate ones on her back. They covered her spine all the way down from her hairline and arching from that thick line were more scales, forming a design that looked almost like butterfly wings with the tips draped over her shoulders slightly and over the firm roundness of her hind end, so that most of her back was covered. The closer to her spine the more of the silvery gray color seemed to touch the pearly scales. There was also a line of the almost iridescent scales over the back of her shins, curling delicately around her heal. Sedna then leaned against the wall, reaching up to put her hair in a large bun on the top of her head so that her hair would be completely out of the way. She used the ribbons from her former pigtails to tie it up, just the smallest bit of shimmering white hair curling around her ears and neck as it fought staying in the bun. |
~It's all right.~ Tikith walked over to join Amaranth.
"I- you- um..." Hamon turned bright red, shooting a glare at Tikith and Amaranth before turning back to Fenghua'ng. "I... I grew up knowing that... well, it's just... I um... " He turned a deeper shade of red. "Oh, shards, yeah, I do. i just didn't think you..." "Here it is!" Sheryn said, pulling it out and closing the drawer. She turned to face Sedna, and had to blink a couple times to make sure she was seeing right. "You... you didn't have to strip all the way down..." she said quietly. Wow... she's... ~Oh, just take her measurements, already!~ "Right, um, can you spread your arms? No one will see, Lumelith's blocking the window." |
Sedna shrugged, murmuring “I figured you would want to see my back anyway…” She watched her a moment, confused as she went quiet. As she spoke she simply raised her arms, spreading them slightly and smiling a little and for a moment appearing embarrassed. “I’m sorry if I startled you… I guess… it’s just nice…not to have hide everything for once….” She sighed, glancing down at her slightly sharp toenails a moment as she waited to be measured. Den meanwhile was looking back and forth between Lumelith and Sheryn.
|
"Didn't think i'd what," Feng asks tilting her head to the side. "Did you tink I wouldn't be interested?" She looks him up and down, "Well...," she says with a sly smile, "You're cute. There's that at least. What really got me though, is that you're smart, and nice... Nice is what I'm most attracted to with you though. I've never really gotten much of that. At least not since my dam died." Feng looks off into the distance, eyes glistening with unshed tears.
Amaranth stops her playing and looks to Feng 'you okay? what's wrong?' |
