Kaden laughed out loud, watching the herdbeasts scattere as N'Tiera's shimmering green-blue hulk swooped low. "Come on N'Tiera, To the peak again!" he called as he clung to her smooth neck. The dragon's eyes swirled green, a smile almost visable on her snout as she spread her wings wide again, the wind filling them as the dragon and rider rode high above the lands. They flew up and down, diving, spinning and weaving about, the small dragon's lithe body prowling through the air unmatched.
~That's enough of a warm-up, don't you think?~ N'Tiera's liquid voice reached out. Kaden patted her hide and nodded as she looked back to him. ~Let's not keep the young ones waiting, then.~ She said, her body rippling and banking, flying lower as they quickly made their way back to the keep. Kaden slid off the harnesses and landed on the ground lightly, grabbing a flask from his side and downing some water before nodding to N'Tiera and heading inside. |
"I..." Hamon blushed harder. "Shuddup, that's not nice either." He glanced at Fenghua'ng, then looked at his hands.
~I... But... He's.... Fine!~ K'ton looked up at Kaden as he entered. "Kaden! You made it before most of the class." Sheryn looked up at T'ran. "I thought we had something special! And of course I was right, I'm the leader here." She turned to talk to J'lor. "So, this is their blood? It doesn't look like blood... What does all of this mean?" Lumelith poked her head over her shoulder, Perth perched on her nose. The little brown chittered, flying down and pointing to the paper, showing Sheryn images of the first landing again, then a jumble of people moving araound, with the first dragon prominent in them. "Ow, Perth, you know that it has to be cohesive," Sheryn muttered, poking the firelizard in the ribs. |
"Well... its true that the Dragons where made by the ancestors to fight thread, but this, it shows us WHAT they did." He grinned, "technically its part of the blood... called the... DNA." He grinned and shook his head, "I'm simplifying it."

Kaden gave a look about in confusion. "I am? Well that's weird." He said, pretending to take his pulse. "Maybe I should go back outside for another half an hour." He said with a cheeky grin and took another mouthful of water. Jevt chirred from up on the rafters, waking when he heard Kaden. The little brown lizard hopped down, gliding and fluttering to land on his owner's shoulder.

"What did i do now? I just figured you should know why i do it. I thought it might make things easier on you. I can't really help it sometimes."
'see... if you leave it alone... they talk it out.' "You know. I could almost see very interesting things happening between myself and a few people here." 'You're horrible. I have half a mind to bite you.' -promise?- 'Oh shush. you know that won't work on me. i'm immune.' |
"Yeah, well, Kaden's here. Where's the rest of the class?" Hamon looked around, confusion written all over his face.
~Well..... yeah, you're right.~ "Not really, they should be getting here soon. These two are always early," K'ton said. He put down his book, standing up as a few kids trekked in with their dragons. "So, this... DNA... if you change it, you change the being? Is that what it is? Like... a building plann for people?" Sheryn traced a few of the splotches out. "Alright, so the biggest differences are their size and intelligence, right?" Perth squawked indignantly, while Lumelith huffed in laughter. |
"They should be here soon... look there's K'tes." She waves to K'tes as he walks into the room. "Now please don't take t so seriously when i do that. I mean... i like you. I just... i tease a bit too much sometimes. If it's bothering you too much tell me. I won't hold it against you."
'See... she's not entirely evil.' T'ran turns to Selea, "So. You are?" |
"Well, if you look, the sizes didn't change too much, the splotch is almost invisible. According to what the healers think, the lizards woulda grown this big eventually. The intelegence." He grinned, "I figure we can pull that out and calm the holders down a bit. Imagine Weyrs full of massive firelizards."
Chirping, Rile bit his ear and he grinned, "No no, I love you little guys." |
Selea was feeling queasy from the mention of blood and dragon's blood was worse. She was glad for the distrction when the man spoke to her. She looked at T'ran. "Selea, Wyerwoman of Fort Wyer." She held out her hand for a firm hand shake. "Very nice to make your aquaintance."

T'ran takes her hand and bows over it kissing it lightly. "T'ran it's a pleasure to meet you."

"That thought actually scares me," Sheryn said, shaking her head. "Some of them already know how intelligent dragons are."

Selea smiles. "As said, Likewise." She nodded in a feminine form of bow. "I do apologize for interrupting this, but i do still need to speak with the Wyerwoman. Excuse me." She was slow to let go of his hand, as if she were subconsiously not wanting to let go. Then she turned just enough to talk to Sharyn. "I was just getting confirmation. The Hatching should be very soon. I need to get back, but i was saying that you should get your wyerlings to Fort soon so that they can be there in time. Any day now really." She glances at T'ran.

Kaden looked to the few early students and sighed. 'Well this is exciting.' He thought sarcastically as he flopped down on a pile of rugs. ~You have to give them time, I'm sure more than a few of them are anxious.~ N'Tiera said as she came in, her green hide dulling in the shadows of the building. "I know, I just want to get this started, I hate not being in the air." He huffed as he crossed his arms, looking about the hall.

"Imagine, if you will, a Pern where dragons had no riders, wild like fire lizards." He grinned broadly and looked at Wiketh, "I mean. Its hard enough feeding them as it is. And greens breeding?" he waved a hand, "I think we could make a good case for the necessity of riders!"

Hamon nodded, scratching Tikith above the eye. "Yeah... Kaden? Don't worry, I think the dragons woke everyone up too early for them."
~Can we fly together yet?~ "K'tes! Where are the rest of the weyrlings?" K'ton stood up, walking to the door. "Oh, good, they're here. See you later, Kaden, it's your turn to deal with the delinquents." "Yeah, of course! I can send them as early as tomorrow morning. You don't have to worry," Sheryn said. She looked up at J'lor, a horrified look on her face. "Yes, that will definately get them to agree. Greens are infirtile for a reason." |
"Hi Kaden. Listen... I'm sorry."
'What are you sorry for? You haven't done anything yet.' -No, but he won't listen as well after I've done it, so I'll say it first.- 'What are you planning?' -Tell you later- |
He chuckles and pats her back, "now your thinking. I know for a fact Benden is more than willing to keep up their support of the Weyrs." He winked and tapped his watch, "if you get my drift."

Kaden stood as more students filed into the room, keeping his eye on Feng, but checking to make sure all were there. He furrowed his brows a bit as she spoke, apologizing outright. "What are you saying that for,ne? Did you get into the wines again?" He asked, petting Jevt absentmindedly as he scanned the room again.
N'Tiera shifted a bit as some of the young dragons and their riders flocked to her, looking in awe at her despite her small size. |
"Oh no I haven't done anything... yet." She smiles slyly and turns back to the others. "How ya doin K'tes?"
"Who wouldn't Sheryn." |
Selea fidgeted. "Ummm....."

Hamon gave Fenghua'ng and Kaden a worried look, but kept quiet, remembering the incident with the wine.
~But it was fun!~ -Not the point, it was dangerous.- Sheryn looked at T'ran, or more like glared. "You can shut up, now. He's horrid," she said, tempted to reach out and slap him. ~He was trying to complement you. Be nice, you tell me to.~ |
He shook his head and grinned, "give the guy some credit, he's Lord first, cousin second." Frowning he sighed, "I was just about to head out and tell both Lord Jaxom and Masterharper. However it seems I have been, ahem, missing some goings on about the weyr?"
